I'm here in Africa, I'm excited.

and I'm scared, I'm nervous.

I don't see any animals, but they see me.

It's amazing, the threats and dangers everywhere.

I've gotta stay cautious. I gotta stay aware.

And you can never let your guard down.

We're getting pretty deep into the bush now.

It's starting to get pretty scary.

I think it's gonna be really tough surviving out here.

I've dreamed of this moment, and I tell you what,

it's some combination of excited and nervous.

It's a lot of emotions going on right now.

Zambia's Luangwa Valley,

a vast terrain of dry grasslands,

thick bamboo forests, and lush river systems,

is one of Africa's most dense areas of deadly wildlife.

Making giant crocodiles, lions, and elephants

a constant threat.

All right, let's do this.

This must be it.

All right, here we go.

Bye, clothes, I'm sick of you anyway.

Let's do it.

Here we go.

All right, Africa, let's do this, game on!

Hi.

I'm so happy to meet you.

Super awkward to meet like this.

This is really weird, but... We can hug.

Wild women taking over Africa.

- What's your name? - Jennie.

-Jennie, I'm Heather. -Nice to, nice to meet you.

What do you do for work?

Um, I'm just a substitute teacher.

I'm just a hair dresser, so...

-Oh, yeah? Nice. -It's fun.

Hey, guys.

- What? - Oh, my God.

- Wow. - Hi.

Another wild woman.

Hi, I'm Heather.

Hi, I'm Lauren.

Nice to meet you.

-Jennie. -Jennie, hi, nice to meet you. Oh, my gosh.

I get dropped off in the bush, you know, of Africa,

and there's two women, and they're naked like I am,

and I'm thinking, "What is happening?"

-Your hair's amazing. -Thanks.

'Cause you're a hair dresser, so you'd notice.

-That was the first thing I noticed. -Notice, yeah.

Uh, I was not expecting this.

I never thought there would be three of us here.

- I know, wow. - -I know, this is exciting.

-This is crazy, oh, my gosh. -I love that there are no dudes here.

- Yeah. - I know, right.

- It's three chicks. We're gonna crush this thing. -Oh, totally.

Yeah, we're gonna make it.

- I'm super excited that it's us three... - -Yeah.

- ...and hopefully we can just, like... - -Yeah.

-...love each other... -Gosh, yeah.

...and, like, help each other make it through.

I mean, guys are fine,

-but I think it's really cool to have women. -Yes.

-Like, we're gonna tough it out together. -Women empowerment.

We don't need a dude.

That's right! No dudes at this party.

Hey, y'all.

- Yeah, oh! - Oh, my gosh.

A guy!

- Mind if I join you down here? - Uh...

-Oh, God. -Oh!

There's a guy!

There's a dude here!

- Oh, my gosh. - Um, wow.

Oh, no.

A guy's gonna crash our party?

What is happening?

Oh, my gosh.

- Wow. - Hi, I'm Heather.

-Hi, hi, Heather. -I'm Lauren.

-Lauren, pleasure. -Oh, my gosh. Nice to meet you.

-Nice to meet you. Hi, Jennie. -Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too.

I did not think there was gonna be four.

-No. Welcome to the team. -Yeah.

-Yeah. -Yeah, welcome to the girl party.

Happy to be here, for sure.

We were having a good girls' moment,

and then Robin showed up.

And I am less thrilled about him, I'll be honest.

Were you completely surprised to see me?

-I was. -Yeah.

I was completely surprised.

I was the third female, so I'm like, "What is happening?"

- Okay. - And then, and then you appear.

Were you shocked?

I was totally shocked.

I actually stopped and wasn't quite sure how to approach.

Maybe the biggest surprise of my life.

Had no idea that there were gonna be three women,

but I could not be more excited.

I guess we can let him in our wild women circle.

Okay, you're in, you're one of us.

-Yeah. -Do I have to do an initiation?

- Oh, maybe tonight, maybe tonight. - Okay.

Keep, keep that women empowerment theme going.

-Yeah. -I'm just, I'm here to support.

- Let's go, that sounds great. - Okay, awesome.

Okay, I'm so excited, but I think it's time to get started, you guys.

- Yes, I'm ready. - Yeah, let's do it.

- Okay. - I'm ready.

-Yeah, let's do it. -Uh, bags are over there.

-Cool, nice, yeah. -Go check 'em out?

Yeah, oh, yeah, they are there.

Oh, yeah, okay.

- I can't believe I'm putting on the bag. - -Right?

The survivalists are provided with a pot, and a fire starter,

in addition to one personal item each.

A sling shot...

...ax... ...machete, and fishing line.

My dad taught me to fish.

I, I feel like I can get us dinner.

-Oh, yay. -So, we're gonna be all right.

- Heck, yeah, that's awesome. - Amazing.

That's so cool.

And I've got one more thing for us.

- Robin, you wanna... - Sure.

- ...do the honors? See where we're heading? -All right.

- Okay, so... - All right.

-So, this is where we are... -Okay.

- Great, sweet. - -Uh, we got freshwater here.

- Nice. - Okay.

-Extraction's over there. -Yes.

Should we do it?

- Let's go. - Let's do it.

- Yeah, team, right on. - Let's do it, guys.

- Oh, we need a team name. - Yes.

- What's our team name? - -Well, it was gonna be Wild Women.

- Yeah... - Let's keep it!

- Can we? - Oh, yeah.

- Okay, good. - -Let's keep it Wild Women.

Wild women.

Team Wild Women.

That's us.

It's not Wild Women and Robin, I'm part of the squad.

To make it to their survival location,

the foursome will head north...

...through miles of thorn-covered forest...

...to the sun-scorched banks and shallow waters of the Luangwa River.

Nice job blazing the trail up there.

- Whoo-hoo! - Whoo-hoo!

So, y'all, I, I ultra-run, that's what I do.

So, I spend almost all my free time on the trail.

- Nice. - Very cool.

I'm formally trained as a biochemist.

I love identifying plants and harvesting wild edibles.

But I've been put in lots of situations

where I've had to be mentally tough to get through it.

For the last five years, I've been ultra-running

in mountain wilderness areas, which I love.

You know, it takes a lot of hard work.

It takes a lot of sacrifice.

And I honestly am just trying to figure out what am I capable of,

and what are my limits?

I just have the mindset whatever it takes.

These are, uh, thorns guys.

- Oh, watch it. - Careful.

You know, this grass is sharp.

Yeah, ow, that hurts.

- I'm already bloody. - I'm bleeding too.

Yeah.

My feet aren't as tough as I thought they were.

Like, no, I'm from Hawaii, like, I'm fine.

Like, I'm barefoot all the time,

but no, this is no joke. It hurts.

I'm from Maui, Hawaii, and I love it.

I'm Mother Ocean.

Everything I do is from the mountain to the sea.

I love everyone, I don't judge anyone.

But I do shock people with the way I get dirty.

I'm just a wild woman.

I hunt, it's my specialty.

Clean it up, cut it up, gut it. I get bloody.

Wild woman, here I come.

Ready for it.

We've got to be super careful about snakes

- that are great at camouflaging in the leaves. - -Mmm-hmm.

They like to hide in the warm leaves.

- We watch our every step. - -Yeah, for sure.

Jump at you.

- Who comes to visit us at night? - -Uh-huh.

That will be the ultimate question.

Did you hear that?

-What was that? -I heard something.

Yeah.

- Was that an elephant? - -Oh, maybe.

Something big pushed all those plants down.

So, that's a concern.

I don't want to get flattened by an elephant.

- Right? - Yeah.

- I'm thinking you're right. Elephants... -Elephants, yeah.

...have come through here.

- That's unique. - Yeah.

I have always been super adventurous. That's what drives me.

And the more daring and dangerous it is, I'm there.

I've been mountaineering all over the world.

Long, terrible endurance challenges are my specialty.

I think I have a bad case of middle child syndrome,

where I just have to try to make it really hard for myself

because that's where you get the most growth.

We're out here naked, you know what I mean,

like, this is, like, the most vulnerable...

- Yeah. - Totally.

- For sure. - ...that we can be.

I think it's good we're a group of four.

We look maybe more threatening.

Yeah, I feel, I feel like whenever you're in an adventure

and there's, there's, like, a new environment and new people,

I am just dialed, dialed in.

- Whoo-hoo! - Whoo-hoo!

So, here we go.

I always say there's not quite enough time in the day

for all the activities I like to do.

You know, I've climbed 20,000 foot peaks.

I've been in an avalanche.

I've white water kayaked down huge classified rapids.

Oh, my God.

But I'd honestly say my best skill is just having a strong mental game.

In the most difficult situations, I'm keeping a cool head.

Being flexible, adaptable, those are my superpowers.

I'm a bad son of a bitch, I'm gonna kill it out there.

I love this . Let's go.

- Ooh. - -What do you think we're going to find

- in the, in the water? - -Oh, look what she found.

- Wait. - Oh, yay.

Sweet.

Look at this.

Yeah, here's some. Oh, that one's bad.

This one's a little rough.

We can also use it for bait.

Look at us already kicking butt, you guys.

Sweet, should we keep moving?

-Yeah, okay. -Awesome, cool.

Guys, I think we're really close.

- I can kinda hear something. - Yeah.

- So, it's only a step. - Are we here?

- Oh, we're here. Oh, my Gosh. - Are we here?

- Look at this beach. - What?

This is amazing.

- We're here! - We made it.

-There's the island. -What's that, look at, look at--

- Oh, wow. - Is that deers?

Oh, yeah, look at them running.

Jennie, you're gonna kill 'em all.

Okay, that slingshot.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if our sling shot's gonna take one of those down.

So, in terms of a spot to camp and build our shelter,

we wanna be, like, maybe find a spot with

- some, like, natural shade maybe, like... - -Yes.

- ...kinda up an island. - -Or trees that we can build up against.

Yeah.

We want to get a little higher up to avoid crocs

- hippos, anything that's down here. - -Yeah.

All of the things that are gonna be in the water,

we want to be out of their way.

Yeah, that's a great call.

There's a lot of things that we don't want

to attack us during the night or be anywhere near us.

So, going up hill ensures our safety.

But there are also lions and elephants and things

that don't care quite so much about the water,

and we have to protect ourselves against them.

So, do we agree on this spot?

- Yes, yeah. - -I think it's good for now, yeah.

- I think so. - Yeah.

We just need to build the boma really tight.

- Yeah. - Safe from predators

and I think we're gonna be good.

- We can build off this tree right here. - Yeah.

So, maybe the boma kinda goes all the way

- around the tree. -Mmm-hmm. Like a circle, yeah.

- Yeah, cool. You feeling good about it? -Yeah, let's do it.

- Sweet. - -One, two, three, wild women.

- Wild women on three! - Wild women.

One, two, three, wild women!

That's us!

Clear it all out, push it to the side.

- Make this the outside perimeter, yeah? - -Yup.

We'll go get some larger wood.

And then we can come back and get a spot cleared for the fire.

Before beginning the challenge,

each team member was assigned a primitive survival rating, or PSR.

-Yes. -Come right here.

-Perfect. -Sweet.

Jennie's vast hunting know-how and positive outlook

sets her starting PSR at 6.4.

- You guys got wood? - We got wood.

Heather brings a strong self-drive and excellent fishing skills,

landing her a starting PSR of 6.6.

All right, is this the fire spot we've decided?

- Yup, I'm, like, right in it. - Awesome. Thank you.

Lauren is a skilled forager and an accomplished athlete,

but lacks experience in extreme settings.

She starts with a PSR of 6.1.

How does that look for the moment?

- Yeah, good. - Cool.

And Robin's vast mountaineering background

and ability to perform under pressure

earns him a beginning PSR of 6.5

- All right, y'all. - Good job.

Hell, yeah.

- Fire. - Good job.

Good job.

We are setting up our camp for the night

so that nothing can get in, which means we can't get out.

So, here is our fire wood.

We close our boma...

...against predators for the evening.

We've got our camp fire going, and the water's cooking,

and everyone's settling in.

I feel really good about our first night.

I think we're gonna be safe. We're gonna be warm.

Um, and we're gonna make this happen.

Cheers to night number one.

That's some good, dirty water.

- Yeah? - Are you?

Yeah.

- Do you have to throw up? - -I'm gonna throw up.

Okay.

Yeah, that, that nausea can come on quick.

We made it through our first night.

I had a vomiting session, uh, but it's all clear now.

How does everybody feel?

Um, feeling all right.

-Yeah? -Didn't get much sleep.

I got zero hours of sleep,

and Lauren did get sick, so...

...we need to be really careful about what we're eating and drinking

so we don't have a repeat of that.

I don't wanna chug too much, 'cause I did that last night and I got sick.

It hit my stomach too hard, yeah.

So, we got our day planned out.

Jennie and Heather, they are our expert fisherwomen,

and I feel confident they're gonna do a good job.

Robin and I are going to forage and look for some more fire wood,

boil some water, do all that good stuff.

-And we're doing it! -Let's go!

You guys, we're doing it!

- Wild Women, whoo! - Whoo!

Time to fish.

- Jennie, you got your knife? - Yes.

- Cool, let's do it. - I do.

I definitely have a bit of a loner streak.

I'm not great in big groups,

but ready to just get things done,

and fishing is my strong suit.

So, that's gonna be your closest spot.

- So, we should probably put it right here. - -Yeah.

We are gonna set a line across this stretch of river,

and we're gonna attach several hooks to it to increase our chances.

So, now we just need to stretch it out, find the middle,

- and put our loops to hook our lines to. - -Mmm-hmm.

Okay, now we're gonna hunt for our worms.

And this rotten fruit.

Get something on the hook.

Yeah, we got more small worms.

- There we go. - All right.

Hold it up nice and high so we don't catch on the bottom.

Yeah.

- You have enough line? - Yup.

I wanna put in a passive line so that we don't have to constantly man it,

we can just put bait.

Made it.

- Success. - Perfect.

Got a stick. I'm gonna anchor that.

I just wanna catch a nice big fish and provide for my team.

That's what drives me.

'Kay, mine is secure.

'Kay. Solid.

Unless a croc gets it.

Right?

Okay, so we'll come back...

- Good. - ...check in a bit.

Yup.

- Let's get after it. - Yeah.

The key to our success out here

is gonna be long-term food for four people.

That's a lot of, that's a lot of food

that we're gonna have to find, so...

Lauren and I are gonna go get a sense for what's around us,

and what resources are available.

This is a harsh, this is a harsh place, you know.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, I haven't seen any game yet today.

Haven't seen, really seen any, any birds.

It might mean that they're just, like, not there.

Yeah. Interesting.

Even, like, kinda straight, straight up through here...

- Yeah. - ...and hit some of these rocks.

- Yeah. You wanna try some of these rocks? - Yeah, let's do it.

Yeah, let's do it.

It's like Easter. You don't know what

sort of tasty treat you're gonna find.

That's right.

Ready? One, two, three.

- There's a worm. -A worm. Oh, good bait.

We're taking it.

Ready, one, two...

- A good-looking beetle. - Hey, grab him.

Every bite counts.

All right, we're getting somewhere.

All right, one, two, three.

-What the heck is that? -What in the hell is it?

Oh, my God! It's a weird-looking creature.

Whatever it is, we're gonna eat it.

Ooh, my stomach's growling. My stomach says yes.

I mean. I don't know, man.

I'm gonna let you have that one.

-Dude... -It's so weird...

...there's some crazy critters out here.

- Who knows what else we'll find? - -Who knows.

Carry on.

Do you wanna check our line?

Yeah.

Let's see.

Ow.

Nothing.

Shucks.

It's not the right part of the day.

- I know, right. - -It'll be better later.

I'm hot.

I'm gonna go get some water.

Okay.

That was kind of a low, that I didn't catch any fish,

but it's okay because the sun will rise again tomorrow.

I think we're all working great together.

That's, like, the biggest high of all.

So, I am going to go make myself a sun hat.

And then come back shortly.

Oh, there's a beetle if I can get him without falling over.

We've got several beetles, definitely don't need to overdo it.

No, I agree.

Go get some water.

Yeah, that sounds great.

I would have liked to have gotten more calories today.

We're gonna take what we can get.

We've got some bugs, but yeah, it's, uh,

it's, it's hard to find food out here.

Especially today in the high heat of the afternoon.

Yeah, let's get some water.

Good with me.

All right, should we lay out our bounty here?

Yeah.

All right, beetles.

Fake scorpion thing.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that guy.

Ow.

My feet are fricking sore.

- Hey! - Hi, you guys.

We went hunting.

Did you get anything good?

A lot of beetles.

Oh, nice. Every little bit, right?

- Definitely some time in the sun. - -Yeah.

I'm thinking we're about, about ready for a little, little siesta.

Yeah, that's why I came up here.

I was like, 'kay, I'm gonna chill a little bit.

- Yeah. - -I was getting, like, super dizzy.

Okay.

One last go for the day.

Heather's still out fishing.

But I think we're sort of in siesta mode and...

...thinking about maybe calories spent versus calories gained.

Yeah.

Every little bit of energy conservation counts.

Every little sip of water. It's all cumulative, you know.

You're taking this, this slow pace,

but it's very, it's very calculated.

There is strategy involved for sure.

Hey.

Hey.

- Hey, hey. - -Haven't had any luck.

Oh.

I think I may have over done it.

I'm pretty tired.

Yeah, yeah, we felt the same.

Yeah, drink, drink. We felt the same.

Want a beetle or...

I can't believe you guys got all that.

that's so awesome.

- Mini bounty. - We did it.

They're available. Yeah, let's do it.

Cuisine by team wild women.

We have beetle kebab.

Grilled 'em up for a little dinner.

- That's like popcorn. - No way.

-I mean, seriously, -It's not bad.

I don't mind these little weird delicacies

because it keeps us going.

And, yeah, they're, they're nice little source of protein,

but I felt disappointed in the fishing.

Team wild women.

Whoo-hoo!

- Wild women. - Wild women.

That's us.

Good morning, uh, not a great night of sleep for me,

but we have a lot to do today.

I wanna go set a new catfish line,

and we're gonna make our fishing poles.

Busy day today.

We really don't know how to fish here in Africa,

so it's kinda just like, we're just trying to be

creative and see what works.

Okay, that'll do it.

- Got it. - Let's catch something.

Sounds good.

- Cool, wish me luck. Thank you. -Good luck.

We're surprised by how little...

...we've seen out here in terms of, like, huntable critters.

Just gotta keep, keep looking.

Guineafowl, they're like half the size of a chicken and,

sort of, dumb and slow.

I'm seeing some bird poop.

I'm gonna wait with, like, a good vantage point

to see if the land somewhere.

I'll be posted up, ready to go,

and my sling shot, my rocks ready to take a calculated shot.

Hopefully, some bird show up.

It's hard to get it out into the middle.

Hopefully, something will bite.

I don't think I have a big enough bait.

I've been getting a little bit frustrated

'cause I'm not used to not catching fish.

This hook is way too big for this.

We don't even know if the fish bite down below

or if the fish bite at the very top,

and it's getting very hot.

The sun is beaming on us,

and I feel that I'm getting dehydrated.

It's a little bit miserable.

I'm hot.

It's just not freaking working.

-Hey, Jennie. -Yeah.

I'm gonna stay and fish.

Do you wanna forage or do you wanna fish?

I'd rather watch the fire.

Okay.

Lauren could as well.

Or no one could, that's fine.

It's too hot.

I'm gonna set up a line,

just come on down whenever you're ready.

Okay.

We'll see.

Hunting is definitely a marathon and not a sprint.

Everything is calculated around

survival out here.

Kinda feel like this experience, like--

Oh, is that a lizard?

Oh, or maybe a snake.

Oh,.

Dammit.

And I don't know what kinda snake this is either.

, that'd be so good to get.

Unfortunately, an unsuccessful front.

Frustrated.

What was that?

I hear a sound.

- There's something-- - There's an animal.

- There is? - Yeah.

There's something out there, an animal.

Making like a huffing noise.

Oh,.

What was that?

There's something out there, an animal.

- Do you hear it? - Uh-huh.

I heard it down this end,

and then I heard it back this side,

so I think it's running away.

That's crazy.

So it's day four, I'm gonna get some firewood.

Ooh.

Now these

are something else.

These look like cat tracks to me.

That's pretty big, that's pretty big, look at the,

look at the size of the, the paw on that thing.

That's crazy.

Always, like, a bit unnerving for sure.

Just to, I mean, our, our camp is just, like, right there.

We're in midst of it,

so we've even heard them at night.

At least he's walking away from our camp, so that's good.

This is all gold right here for fire wood.

Having that fire in terms of, like, safety and protection

is extra critical

to, you know, ward off a lion or big predator.

We'll keep looking.

Ooh, I found a beetle.

Score.

Kinda feel like fishing might not be

the greatest idea because so many hours been spent

down by the river, and so we're foraging,

just getting what we know we can eat.

Okay, what do we see on the ground?

Ooh, another beetle.

- Nice. - We might have popcorn tonight.

Yup, beetles for dinner.

I can definitely tell I'm a lot weaker today.

I haven't had real food.

But we're all working hard,

just gonna keep at it, and hopefully get a real meal.

Where did that beetle go?

Oh, I found more here.

I swear, I saw a beetle here...

...and now it's gone.

See, I'm imagining, I'm seeing things.

At this point, I would eat a spider or another beetle.

So, I'm gonna toss this back in

and hope for a miracle.

A lot of fishing is just patience.

When you're really hungry, patience can wear thin.

I hope there's catfish in there,

and those are bottom dwellers,

so we're gonna try and go all the way down into the mud,

and maybe that'll be the winning strategy.

I do a lot of solo stuff back home,

I'm not great in groups,

and I have supposedly the fishing skill,

and I'm not providing, so that weighs on me a lot.

Do a little work on that that deadfall trap?

You ready?

Yeah, ready. Ready when you are.

Okay, rumbling the bush.

Let's go find some stuff in the bush.

Jennie and I are working on a deadfall trap.

After spending last couple of days eating bugs,

we just gotta be creative

and willing to switch up your strategy.

I can't but think that there's

small critters that are ripping around at night that we don't see,

so I think that passive traps might be the best bet.

That's what's nice about this rock,

not heavy enough to hurt your hand,

but it is to smash a mouse.

- Hopefully something just run through here? - -Yeah.

We're just looking for the most oblivious

rat in this, it these woods.

Hell, yeah.

Sweet. Onwards.

Super excited to have gotten that trap set up,

especially with four, it is such a team effort,

just gotta, like, stay creative,

don't get down on yourself.

- Lead the way. - Mmm-hmm.

This is the first day that I'm really feeling hunger.

Just way low on energy,

so Heather and I are trying to, uh, get a catch...

Ugh!

Broke my line.

Oh, no.

...but it's not happening.

- Oh, the hook's gone? - Yeah.

So frustrating.

These fish.

Yeah, I'm tired.

Okay, I'm gonna head up and get water,

-so join us soon before you get dehydrated. -Mmm-hmm.

- Hello. - Any fish?

Nope, no fish.

So, it's the way it goes.

-Is she okay? -Yeah, she's okay.

I know she's bummed

-about not getting fish, but... -Uh-huh.

-Yeah. -...you do what you can do.

- True. - Yeah.

That's all you can do.

-Is she on her way back? -Nope.

Heather is out there fishing, and I, I do feel bad for her

because she feels like

it's her job to provide fish for us,

but in this situation, play smart

and realize, okay, we do need take a nap,

the hottest time of the day,

and then, regroup, and we forage again,

and then we hunt, we collect firewood,

but I guess Heather just always wanna go, go, go.

Where is my team?

But I could use their help.

I've been busting my butt,

and, um, I worry that my team takes that for granted,

that is huge,

and because fishing isn't going as well as I'd hoped,

I am feeling a little put out.

-Out here, you have to be smart... -Yup.

...not the hero.

So I'm gonna toss this back in and hope for a miracle.

Especially, if you are out there for hours,

and you're still not catching anything...

Yeah, it's not good.

It's like torture.

Lost another hook today.

I've been outwitted all morning

by what is likely a very small fish, which hurts.

And I'll be honest, I'm a little

baffled and frustrated with my teammates.

Not an easy nut to crack.

Hopefully there's good news up there,

but might have to

have a chat with what the priorities are.

All right. Hey.

Come, get hydrated, there's the water.

-Hey. -Look.

You were out there for a while.

Yeah, fishing has been sucking ass lately.

Are you gonna go hunting this afternoon?

Yeah, we're gonna go flip rocks...

...and see what we can get.

Yeah, I think the situation is starting to get...

-Pretty clear-- -...dire, we need all hands on deck with food.

We're six days in, we spent a lot of time together,

you know, we're tired and lacking food, hunger, etcetera,

and tension, tensions arise,

and I've been feeling that a little bit,

that there may be some, like, underlying tensions.

I think it could be a good opportunity for a family meeting.

- I have a question for you. - What's that?

Day one, two, three, four, is it like honeymoon phase

or just like psyched to be here,

but do we feel like there's any,

like, tensions or issues that need to be worked out or...

I have been fighting,

I'll admit, a sense of resentment

because there are times where it feels like

when I'm fishing, and then everyone's just, like, "Okay, bye."

Or when I come up, and everyone is napping

-and moments like that. -What? When did-- Did that ever happen?

Yeah, I don't nap, at all, 'cause I'm, I just keep going.

You feel like you're putting out more than everyone else.

Some times.

Do you guys feel that way?

I will say, Heather,

you have been the last one out there,

you know, fishing, which, you know, I definitely, I definitely commend.

I just feel like you stay out there

'cause you, you're telling yourself you need to catch a fish.

I'm from Hawaii, and we kinda get wild, like,

my adrenaline start pumping, and I get defensive.

-Yeah, nobody is slacking. -No one is slacking.

But, like, maybe you could not spend the whole day out there fishing,

maybe you could, like, take a break and come help us.

Emotions are really high right now.

We're all low on calories, we're all, you know, tired.

I, I want us to all make it,

and I want us to do really well,

and people do need to rest,

and if someone's energy is level high and they can keep going,

they shouldn't be resentful,

but that is something I have to fight down because in my head,

I'm like, "Go, go, go, go."

But that's not everyone's head.

I have to commend her,

she's, like, one of the most perseverant people that I've ever met,

I mean, that girl, like, has,

you know, some serious tenacity for, for suffering.

We have 21 days, and we can't all try to be heroes the whole time.

You've also climbed Everest

so maybe this isn't the hero mode.

- This is nothing. - May, maybe--

Maybe hero mode is like a whole another level.

Heather, -did you order two more frogs? -I did.

Great.

After our blow up yesterday, I'm sure they were hurt

because they have been working hard,

and that wasn't what I was trying to imply,

but it felt like we said what we had to say,

got it out, and I think things are gonna be okay.

I have to be more of a relaxed team player,

collaborate with everyone,

and get calories in everyone.

You know, I have to give it my all,

or what am I even doing here?

Just energy is really low, light headed, you know.

Yeah, I was hoping we get at least one fish.

Wanna start by, uh, checking our deadfall trap...

- Yes. Yup. - ...and kinda rally from there?

-Wanna try lift this up? -Yeah.

See what we've got under there?

- No. - Shoot.

-You wanna set it? -Yeah.

-Set it up. -Okay.

I'm feeling beat today, I'm tried.

Little dizzy, this is the most tired I've been.

- Like, I'm hungry... - Yeah.

...I'm tired, I'm dirty.

We're out here and everything really seems, like, deserted.

You see that little hole right there?

Yeah.

Like, all the holes have, like, cobwebs

like old houses.

Not thriving...

...or surviving.

Like, this place is beautiful and amazing...

-Yeah. -...but it's just not providing,

We're not getting food here,

we're only gonna get weaker to the point

-where we might not be able to make... -We can't even make it.

...make our move.

Yeah, totally.

I mean, it's possible that we need to move to a different location.

It's not a place we can survive for 21 days.

Almost like this location, like,

thrives in, like, a different season almost.

- In the rainy season. - -Yes, rainy season.

-Yeah. -You know what I'm saying.

It's just like, we have done a great job

exploring all around this place, and it feels like

we're running low or out of resources.

- It can't get any worse than where we are now... - -That's true.

...because we're only living off of bugs.

You see this right here?

I feel like we could do a better job at fishing,

- like, we can corral fish. - Corral.

We can set fish traps.

If, if there are fish there.

My thoughts are, if we're gonna do this, we need to be unanimous.

- Yeah. - -And I think everyday we wait

we're risking exhaustion.

Okay, are you thinking of tomorrow?

- Yeah, I think so. - Yeah. Cool.

- Gather around. - One, two, three.

- Wild women! - That's us.

-We need food if we're gonna pull this off. -Yeah.

Frog, come here.

You know, it's been a week with low calories,

not had very much at all,

um, and I think we're all feeling the effects,

but we're just gonna try to do whatever works.

Yes.

I've got, uh, -a giant grasshopper thing. -Nice.

I'm gonna keep trying to fish.

That's like my sole focus today.

Get calories in everyone.

We need to try to get ourselves filled up for the big move.

I'm trying to get this stupid fire going.

This place isn't providing, so we're moving location,

so we can maybe thrive.

I mean, it can't be worse.

Or can it?

- Ah! We got a fish! - Yes, oh, my gosh.

Oh, my gosh.

It's a baby catfish, I think.

It's got a whisker. I'm so happy.

Oh, man, that feels good.

Oh, my gosh, give me five. I'm so proud of you.

-You got us food. -We did it.

There was some tension with me and Heather,

but that's, like, a powerful woman right there, she did not give up.

And she can look at us and see how happy we are

that she provided food for us.

I'm so proud of her.

First catch.

It's little, but I don't care.

I'm so excited, this is just

such a morale booster, we're all starving,

just huge relief.

It really is just like

the best thing that could've happened today.

- We needed this. - Yeah.

All right, firewood mission.

We'll go get some larger wood.

- Yeah. - -And then we can come back and, uh,

get the fire going.

- Oh, a big one. - Yeah.

- Okay. Yeah. - We're gonna need two people on this.

-Oh, look, there's a lizard. -Oh.

What did you find?

Ooh, he's right here!

- You got him? -Run, run! Get your knife!

Oh, my gosh, hold on, I'm coming.

I got it.

I'm so sorry to you, but we're hungry.

-We got it, good job. -What is that?

I got a shrew.

- Yes, okay. - -We're-- Oh, more dinner.

Wow.

-Way to go, lady. -Yes, you guys. Yes.

- Nice job, that was crazy. - -Yeah, that was so--

- Guess what? - What?

Look.

- What? - A shrew.

How did we catch a shrew?

- That's amazing. - -Oh, it's a funny story.

Oh, you should've seen it, we were nuts.

True wild women.

You're on fire right now, team.

I knocked him out with this.

I feel honored to be cooking this fish with you all,

this is out first real protein,

nice job, team, let's do it.

- This means tomorrow could be a very happy day. - -I know.

Oh, my gosh, this is gonna be freaking tasty, team.

- Fishing lady, here you go. - Here you go.

-Cheers, all. -Hey.

- Cheers. - Cheers.

Great finish to the day, team.

- Oh, so good. - Delicious.

- Mmm. - It's so good.

- That's the first truly tasty thing. - Mmm-hmm.

Bones and all.

- And now, let's eat. - Yeah, let's eat.

-We're gonna put 'er straight on the fire. -Look at that.

Roasting it up.

- Wild women. Let's go. - That's amazing.

My first shrew.

You know, it's actually not too bad.

- Not too bad. - Really?

I'm like super stoked, super amped.

The mood is great.

I have like, energy.

I'm ready for tomorrow, but if we stay here

we're gonna run out of resources.

We need to be brave and just head out.

-Good right? -Yeah.

We're gonna sleep amazing.

Is there anything else that we want to make sure to we bring?

We'll bring like, a couple spears.

We got the backpack.

Do we have all the tools?

Yep, we got the--

Do you have both the fishing sticks? There's two.

- Both. - Yep.

Uh, game plan in terms of route,

maybe head around the back side of the island

and cruise and find like, one of the nice sandy embankments.

According to the map, we're here.

River runs north to south.

I think if we go out around to the east side of the island,

we're gonna hit this water source here regardless,

and then we can kind of cruise north

until we find a good spot with resources.

- Okay. - -What do y'all think?

- Yeah, I think that's the plan. - -Cool.

I am super hopeful. I mean, we're nervous too.

We know that in addition to actually getting to the next location,

you got to then build a boma

which is like one of the most energy intensive things.

You've got to figure out the fire, the water,

and you don't even know if there's gonna be firewood or resources.

So we're excited, but nervous.

Bye, little island.

Then just around the bend and see if we see a way up.

I am most nervous about what wildlife we may encounter.

Like, big game.

You know, you kind of see like, the threats and dangers everywhere.

And I'm feeling rough.

Dehydrated, low on calories.

So I think it's really important

that we go slow, alert and cautious.

And not letting our guard down.

It's starting to feel like

a little bit different terrain.

Grass is everywhere.

In the last location, we were hearing lions across the way in the forest,

and that's exactly where we hiked into.

We're trying to be super careful, but we can't really see.

It's sort of a daunting prospect

to like, not really see what's around you.

So we're just trying to stay as attentive as we can

and get to our next location as quickly as we can.

I see a riverbed. Dry.

A dry river. No water.

Not seeing any water.

Oh, man. Nothing.

Crossing a couple dry creek beds

is actually pretty discouraging.

I mean, it is the dry season, so, you know,

that lush zone on the map could have dried up

and then we are out of luck.

That would suck.

Ouch.

Ooh, these are all thorny.

Oh no. Back to the thorns, huh?

Really nervous. We haven't seen that water source yet.

I am starting to get nervous.

The water could be smaller than what we anticipate.

It might have no wildlife in it.

I'm actually a little worried that this was the wrong tactic at the wrong time.

My body is way weaker. I'm getting winded.

I can definitely feel the toll of being lower on calories.

You guys, look up ahead. It's-- It's a baobab.

- Oh, a baobab. - Oh, it's a baobab.

If we can find those seeds.

Some Vitamin C, some energy.

- Monkeys love this stuff too though. - -I know.

I know. I'm a little worried.

There's nothing up there. Just look on the ground

Yeah, look on the ground.

And maybe we'll get lucky.

Come on. We just need one.

We have been waiting forever to see a baobab tree.

They're full of sugar, full of carbs.

It's everything we need.

And we finally saw one.

-Do you see anything? -No.

Oh, bummer.

There was no fruit on it.

But back at the island, we saw nothing like that.

So I'm hopeful that at this new location

we'll have another chance to get some fruit.

I see palms up ahead.

- That means water? - Let's hope.

You guys. Look what we found!

Holy cow.

- We did it. - We are here, yeah.

That's awesome.

-Wow. -Look at this, you guys.

Oh, thank God.

- Yes, you guys. - Whoo!

- It's like a little oasis here. - -Yeah.

So excited. Things look lush and green.

And the water is sparkling clear.

You can see through it.

No more muddy water.

Hey, guinea feather.

There's guineas!

- That's great. - There's guineas around, you guys.

Let's have a guinea dinner.

Yeah, keep an eye out for those.

Nice, okay.

-This is looking-- -That looks promising.

I think this is looking good.

-Like, I can almost see like a perimeter in here. -Kind of... Right?

Yeah, me too.

-We're up high from the water source. -Yeah.

We have a natural barrier, these trees to work with.

There's lots of thorny bush

that we can use for our boma.

Yeah. Team, what do we... What do we think of the spot?

- Yeah, I like it here. - Cool.

In terms of roles, what do we... What are we thinking?

-Do we-- -I think one person fire and water.

- Okay. - And three on boma.

I can do fire and water, yeah.

-Okay. -I will start a fire ring.

I will gather some rocks...

-Cool. -...for a space where we want it

-and get a fire going, and then go get some water. -Awesome.

Sounds good.

Trying to build off any existing structure that we have

to help make it a little stronger than just a pile of sticks.

I'm worried because there's so much work

and work load and pace that really could burn somebody out.

We've been at this for a few hours

and thirst is kicking in.

Fatigue is kicking in.

Everybody's grinding super hard

even after we just did that long hike.

- Maybe... Yeah. - Up here?

Nice.

But you don't have a choice

because come nightfall we've got to have a solid boma.

We've got to have water and a fire.

So I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we can hang in there

until we get all this stuff done.

Coming together.

Slowly, but surely.

The ground is hard and rocky and we are freezing.

It's been pretty rough.

Last night, I was miserable.

- Last night was rough. - It was way too cold.

How do you feel energy-wise today?

Feeling rough today.

The weakness is getting to me.

- I'm feeling very winded and really dizzy. - -Yeah.

I'm surprised it's this bad.

It was pretty miserable, yeah.

So, I propose we get ourselves

-off the ground for tonight. -I agree.

We build a raised platform,

- cover it so we have a little heat. An A-frame. - Yeah, A-frame.

I think that has to be our priority today.

-Yeah. -Hopefully it will be a much better night.

It can't be any worse than this.

July in Zambia is the coldest month of the year.

And a midwinter cold front just arrived,

causing nighttime temperatures to plummet into the 40s.

So, we're going to make a raised platform bed

to keep ourselves off the ground.

If you can get off the ground, even a few inches,

you're gonna have a lot more warmth

because the ground just sucks the heat from your body.

And it's just gonna be more comfortable.

So we have our frame down here.

That's what lifts us up a bit.

This is basically our box spring.

This is what is gonna hold our weight,

and we're going to put our bedding right on top of that.

So this just needs to be kind of flat and strong.

So we're using cane.

And then, all of our soft stuff will go right on top here.

Looking good.

And then, we put our A-frame on top

to hold in our body heat.

Look at that.

That would be a perfect reflective wall for a fire.

And around our fire, we have a reflecting wall

to hopefully push that heat into our shelter.

- What do you think? - Yeah.

Nice.

- Round of applause. There you go. -Awesome. Yay!

Great idea.

Oh my gosh. From the worst night of sleep ever--

-To the best. -To make the best little hut.

The team is stronger than ever.

And that is a really great thing.

We've come a long way. We're growing together as a team

and I'm so grateful for the people I'm here with.

Yeah.

My night was horrible.

Yeah, that was freaking scary.

It was right-- It sounded like it was right outside the door.

Yeah, it was so scary.

Definitely a little worried about lions.

It was a wake-up call. It was scary.

The nights are so hard.

I knew going in that they would probably be really difficult,

I don't handle cold weather well and being naked.

It's tough.

It's starting to wear me down.

Okay.

Didn't seem like anybody got any sleep last night

and are just pretty impacted by the cold.

I think a big part of it is people just wake up

'cause we're just laying in the hard, hard dirt.

So we've got some sand right here.

The hope is just to create a sleeping area

that's a little bit more comfortable.

Just trying to fluff it up a little bit,

trying to boost morale.

Morale is a little bit low right now.

Oh, standing up hurts.

My heart is like, racing?

- Oh yeah? - Even when I'm standing still.

So I'm not sure what the heck's going on.

I noticed I've had this racing heart

that kind of won't settle down even when I rest.

Kind of like tight that feels like it's pounding on my chest.

I don't want it to get any worse than it is.

I am a little concerned.

Oh, there's a big giant tadpole right here.

- Do you see him? - I see him, yeah.

- Alright. - Yeah.

So, we have a creek near our new camp.

And it's full of tadpoles.

- Did you get him? - I don't think so.

They are so fast. It's like insane.

But the tadpoles are super hard to catch.

And it's down.

So everyone's been trying to catch these tadpoles. They're really fast.

So I'm gonna weave a little bowl using palm leaves

to scoop them out to make it easier to catch.

And hopefully, that will work.

Four of these bowls, one for all of us,

so we all can go tadpole or frog hunting.

So I just weave these little scoopers

to see what we can get out of the little creek.

I think I might try out one of your baskets.

-Yeah? -You want to come?

- I'm gonna chill for a sec. - Cool.

Doing this challenge almost feels like I'm a little kid.

It's taking the stuff that you do when you're a child,

like building a fort or looking for frogs, that sort of thing.

And putting it on an adult level.

They don't seem scared of it.

They dodge and then they just come right back.

And it's painful and exhausting,

but it's so fun at the same time.

Oh, man. I feel like it's mocking me.

Oh, he went through the basket rungs.

Oh, darn.

Hey, hey, hey! It works!

Nice job, dude.

-You got one? -Yeah.

Jennie made us these little tadpole baskets

'cause they're super hard to catch. They're really fast.

And we got one.

That is excellent news 'cause there's a million tadpoles in there.

Yeah, there we go.

- Got another one. - Oh my gosh.

-You just stick it in the water... -And they move with it?

...and then you scooch them in with your hand. It goes right in.

Ooh, a big one. Oh, it's kind of meaty.

May as well strike when the iron's hot.

-You want to cook him? -Yeah, yeah. Put him in here.

-There. -Yeah!

Alright.

-Try again. -It looks like fish.

We caught ten tadpoles today.

Probably not enough to get us through,

but it's a huge morale booster.

This is awesome, you guys.

Delicious.

Another really rough night.

It's starting to wear me down.

So cold.

We're all suffering.

It is so cold.

The nights are pure misery.

So we're just doing our best to make it through.

That was a bad night. It was just misery.

I keep thinking it can't get any worse.

Yeah, every night gets a little worse.

And it's making me really worried

'cause we got a lot of nights to go.

I really think that's gonna be the make or break for me

is being able to get some sleep.

It's too bad that the shelter didn't work.

It's just... It's too cold. The cold just kind of blows through it.

We just can't stay warm with body heat in there.

So I think we're committed to sleeping around the fire.

Alright, let's go get firewood.

My body is so sore.

It is so cold.

I'm moving real slow today. I'm very dizzy.

I haven't had a lot of calories.

The nights have been brutal.

I kind of feel like my body's falling apart a little bit.

Maybe we've pushed too hard in the previous days.

Yeah, I don't know.

I'm just kind of all over the place.

You okay?

-Still racing? -No, yeah. I don't know.

I feel like I'm falling apart.

No, stop it.

Do you need to see a medic?

I don't know. I just can't walk without almost passing out.

It has been a super hard day for me

both physically, mentally and emotionally.

What are you feeling right now?

Having a real hard time with my anxiety

and, uh, it's even hard to talk right now.

And it's just overwhelming me right now.

I think it'll pass.

I'm just having a moment.

I am a little bit worried about Lauren.

She's been really low and had tears

You can just tell that she's questioning

whether or not she should be here or not.

I think in these moments where I'm sleep deprived, and calorie deprived,

it's just so overwhelming.

Is this the right place for you right now?

I don't know.

This day has continually beat me down.

Like, if you really wanted to grit it out, you could. I know it.

However, I would give yourself the permission

to make the decision that feels right for you.

I just...

Is this the right place for you right now?

I don't know. Yeah, I'm having a real low moment.

- It's okay. - I don't wanna leave you guys.

What's going on, Lauren?

I think I'm gonna call it.

Today, I've really struggled. I'm sick to my stomach again.

And anxiety. The tightness in my chest.

And I really do think all of it, the heart rate and everything is my anxiety,

and with the lack of nutrition and sleep, it's really starting to build,

and I think once it gets to the point where it's pretty bad,

um, yeah, that, that's not a good place

-to be in survival. Yeah. -No, it's concerning. I understand that.

You know, and I think, you know, of course I'd love to wrap it out.

-It's what I do. -Mmm-hmm.

But I don't think it's the right decision right now for me.

I get that. I totally get that.

And I know the night times suck, but I just would wanna make sure

that you have, like, the clearest head when you make the decision.

It's enough for me.

It's enough. Okay.

Mentally, physically sounds like you're ready to go home.

Yeah. I'm gonna tap.

Okay. Just bear with me.

I'm gonna go get you right outta here.

-I love you. -I love you. You're gonna do so great.

You're so amazing.

-I'm just so scared. You're so great. -No, no. You're so welcome.

I'm gonna be thinking about ya, okay?

-Thank you. You, too. -Okay.

I'm gonna miss y'all so much.

Bye.

I am so sad to leave my team, because I love those people.

And they made this experience infinitely more wonderful than it would have been.

These 11 days have been amazing.

I mean, they've been hard.

There's been a lot of suffering, but I've learned a lot about myself.

With ten days remaining, Lauren, an experienced endurance athlete,

is unable to make it across the finish line.

Shedding 15 pounds in the process, her PSR drops from 6.1 to 5.2.

I'm proud of myself. It was life-changing.

And I'm gonna take that back home to be a better Lauren, better mom, better friend.

Better everything. And I'm not gonna take these 11 days for granted.

So, I'm a little bit shocked right now.

I'm sad, because she was kind of my support.

It's gonna be a little bit hard, but I kinda feel like maybe it's a good thing.

Yeah, it's, it'll be a good thing for me.

So now I can reach inside myself and find my own power

to overcome my emotions, and get through it on my own.

I just hope she's happy with it.

You know, as soon as somebody starts having such serious doubts like that, um...

...you know, I think it's, I think it's often a matter of time.

-Yeah. -Like, she will be content. I feel like she is.

We are down one of our wild women, and...

...it's sad and it's, it's gonna be tough.

It means, you know, more work for everyone, and...

...it's a bit of a, a morale loss, to be honest.

Um, I thought we were all gonna coast to the end.

I thought we were all super strong, we could make it.

And now, there's some doubt, you know?

'Cause now we're entering the, the final stage of things, and I feel like we should, um...

...we should go kill some.

- We should go kill something. - We should go a little crazy.

-Get a good kill. Or at least try. -Yeah. It's time.

I'm starting to get a little nervous about calorie intake.

So today, we're going to try...

...and set some traps, and catch something a little bit bigger.

Hopefully, a guinea fowl.

This seems like bird and snake.

Yeah.

So, we are looking for a game trail with a little tree that we can bend over.

Feathers, guys.

Perfect.

I wonder if this is where they come to water.

Well, you see how they...This looks like scratching. You know? Like...

This might be a good spot. All right. Let's do this.

Yeah. There you go.

Okay.

Do your thing, girl.

So the plan is to take a tree, we bend it down to get a lot of tension.

And then we have basically a slipknot or a noose on the ground,

so when the bird takes the bait,

the idea is that it'll set off the trap so the noose grabs them...

...and flings them into the tree.

So hopefully, tomorrow or maybe even tonight, we'll go check it,

and we'll have a guinea fowl hanging up in that tree.

Slowly release pressure.

Okay, you can let go. I got it.

I think it's holding.

And then this delicious, meaty tadpole. Oh, yeah.

Oh, this is it. I feel one coming.

All right, guys. I believe in us.

Yes.

Right there.

Come on, you.

- Nope. - Have they escaped?

I don't see anything.

Oh, look what I found.

Hey!

- Wiley bug. - Dude, he's kinda crazy.

- He's got pinchers. - Look at his face!

- I know! - He's got a mustache!

I'm kinda scared he's albino.

Ah, there was one in my butt!

What? Oh.

- I thought you were just joking. - -No.

Oh, my God.

- Well, I'll go, um, add these to the snare. - -Cool.

Robin found some really meaty- looking grasshoppers we'll use as bait for the trap.

I think our motto on this part of the journey has just been,

try everything and see what sticks.

All right, so our bait is gone. But the trap hasn't sprung.

Hmmm. What could be happening is,

they might be coming up to it, just pecking it and walking away.

So what might work is putting bait on multiple spots,

so as they come up to peck it, they have to take that extra step to get the next piece.

So, two of these hopefully will do the trick.

And, uh, yeah, we've got all the pieces. We just need 'em to come together.

The bait seems to be working. We just need a bird to get inside that trap.

That would be a huge win for us as we head out for extraction day,

so we can just book it outta here.

Not seeing much.

So, as the days go by, I've noticed it's gotten harder and harder

to find, um, big stocks of tadpoles.

You have to look a little harder now.

Now I'm getting desperate.

The tadpoles that we've been eating in the pond, it seems like they're gone.

And I feel like if that's the only real source of food

that we have to give us energy to go on with our day,

so it's not looking too great for us right now.

Okay, I think I'm done.

This landscape is challenging right now.

It feels like during this dry season, a lot of things are, like, on hiatus,

or just not a, there's not a ton out here.

- Is that a snake? - Something.

What was that?

Oh, oh, oh, I see it. Get it. Get it.

Grab it, grab it, grab it.

It's a baby?

Jennie and I have a hunting style that could only be called chaotic.

- Where is it? - Right there.

Got it.

But we got it.

-We good? Yes! -Yeah. Nicely done.

-There we go again. -High five.

-Yes! Snake. -Whee!

Okay. Let's go home and eat a snake.

Let's go cook up our snake. Yes.

Jennie and I, we've gotten super close. We're working really well together.

I think we're a really strong unit.

And the more challenges that are thrown at us,

I think the stronger we get, and the better friends we become.

Heather, what kind of snake is it?

It's a Mopane snake.

- It is good. - It's meat.

Yeah. Mmm-hmm.

- Mmm-hmm. - So good!

It's so good!

Stocking up on some, some ammo, here.

It's time to...

...time to put this slingshot to use.

Gimme a sec. I see a little bird, and...

Dang, real close on that.

Rolling up with a big guinea fowl back to the wild women,

and being able to grill that thing over the fire would be a huge victory.

This was where I saw a lizard the other day.

Oh, there he is, right there.

Boom! got him.

Oh. Ahh!

Now, we got a tarantula right in... Oh, my God!

Yeah, I saw him dip out underneath there.

He's waiting to come out later.

- No, he's not gonna come out. - -He'll come out!

Yeah, I think he's gone.

He doesn't like the fire.

Can I switch with you?

Hmmm.

I just don't fit in that spot. Sorry!

Guys, we have to burn the shelter down. I'm sorry.

We should, yeah, do that.

Boom! got him.

Ohh. Ahh!

Ahh!

I watched him, like, get... like, watched him get hit

and flip up over the rock into the grass.

Yeah, that's a, that's a bummer. Like, you don't...

You know, you don't want, you don't want that.

What's up, ladies?

- Hey. Any luck? - What's up, bro?

Nope.

- That's a bummer. -Yeah, a bummer. I thought I had that last one.

- Any activity at the traps? - -Nothing.

Nothing.

That's the closest that I've been, and I just wish that I'd been able to...

...been able to get it for one big, one big meal would be so frickin' cool.

Mmm-hmm.

It's sort of frustrating not being able to provide...

You know, having three female partners, you know, I learned a lot about

taking on different roles, and playing a supporting role when need be,

and you know, strength comes in different shapes and, and sizes,

and that, you know, uh, sometimes to be, you know, the best leader

is to, to help let the other people shine around you,

and I'm pretty proud to have helped support this team

to allow these badass women to, to shine.

I'm dragging.

The hunger is setting in today. We need to catch something. We're hungry.

Oh, wow. It's a guinea fowl.

Jennie, Robin. Come on, get, get your weapons, quick, quick, quick.

There's a guinea fowl. A bunch of 'em.

Is that where we were, Robin, and we heard them?

- Maybe. - The guinea fowl?

- I hear 'em. I hear 'em. -Shh. Shh.

Do you have your slingshot?

That was a disappointment. What you think is gonna be this awesome prize,

and, man, it just, woof, it was rough.

Hey, look at that tree up ahead.

What does that tree look like?

Is that, um... Yes. The baobab tree.

The baobab tree.

What? Oh, my God!

Oh, my God, there's more. What?

Oh, my God.

I am freaking.

This is what I've been wanting to find this whole frickin' time.

Oh, my God. Look at... Oh, my God, baobab.

Oh, my gosh.

This is, like, candy. This is gonna, like, take us the whole way right now.

Oh, my God.

Ohh! Who wants some?

I do.

Heck, yeah.

- Oh, my goodness. - -Guys, this is the one right here.

This is, this is, like, everything. I had a headache all this time.

Mmm. I haven't had something sweet like that...

-That's not bitter? -Ohh.

Oh, my God. This is gold right here.

Mmm. Mmm.

Cool. Nice find.

This is gonna carry us on all the way through extraction.

Mmm. Cheers, guys.

A little bit of bitter along the way, but we're gonna end on the sweet.

We end it on a sweet note.

One more night of tossing and turning in the dirt.

Mmm-hmm.

How are people feeling energy-wise, hydration-wise?

I feel really good.

-Oh, I have so much energy. I'm ready to rock and roll. -I do, too. Cool.

It's day 21, extraction day.

I feel so pumped to get out of here.

I'm pretty tired of laying in the dirt.

I'm tired of eating bugs and tadpoles.

I'm ready to go taste the good life again. And...

Yeah, let's make it happen.

There's Bitter Island right here. This is the oasis.

So I think we're gonna be doing the same thing, kinda heading that way,

then should be, seems like a little bit longer than the last walk that we did.

Looking at the map, we're realizing that today's hike

is gonna be just as long, if not longer than, any of the other ones that we've done.

Uh, which is, which is daunting.

- All right. - -Let's get the heck out of here, huh?

Let's go.

To reach their extraction point, the tribe faces a difficult trek

through thorny bamboo forest and tall grasslands,

where lions lie in wait,

before reaching an open savannah.

All right, head into the grass, guys. Keep your eyes open.

All of a sudden, we're in, like, head-high grass.

Can't see what's going on in there.

Once again, another reminder that we're still in Africa,

and there's no opportunity for a misstep right now.

Seeing a way through?

I'm 5'6", and this grass is well over six feet tall.

And I can't see crap.

And I know we have to head Eastward,

so I'm trying to keep my heading. Where I can't see what's beyond the grass,

I don't know if there's lions or buffalo, I don't know what's beyond there.

Overall, we're just flying blind.

Ow,.

Whoo! Thorns.

Yeah, careful, guys.

Oh,.

Oh, it's brutal on the feet.

That is hurting.

Physical pain is wearing on me. I'm just trying to get through it.

I'm not trying to think about the end,

I'm just thinking about each step that I'm taking right now.

Yeah, they're just getting pummeled.

We're hanging on by a thread,

so we're just gonna make the most of the energy we've got and continue moving.

ANy of you seeing what I'm seeing up there?

What do you see?

It looks kind of like a road or a clearing.

Oh, my gosh. Are you being serious?

Yes.

Seriously. Look at that.

- I see it. - Guys, do you think that's it?

- I think so. -Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's check it out.

Oh, my gosh.

- Hang in there, feet. Almost there. -Almost there.

- Ahh, thank God! - Yes. Yes!

Looks like it. Oh, where's our ride?

Please come and get us. We're here.

- Ahh. - -I can kinda hear something.

- I feel like there's a plane. - -Yes.

- Oh, my gosh! -I think it's... That's it!

Wild women, that's it!

Whoo!

- Yeah! - Whoo!

Seeing the plane touch down is such an amazing feeling.

Knowing that it's for us, it feels so good.

We came in this together and we're walking out of it together.

That's right.

Over the course of 21 days,

the team collectively lost more than 100 pounds.

- You guys, look at our way out! - -Oh, look at that.

Jennie shed 28 pounds.

Her Primitive Survival Rating goes from 6.4 to 6.8.

Robin lost 32 pounds.

His final PSR rises from 6.5 to 6.9.

Heather ends her challenge 31 pounds lighter.

Her PSR climbs from 6.6 to 7.1.

Whoo! Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh, you guys.

Whoo!

Biggest lesson I learned out here is that ultimately,

you know, we're just not built to last on our own in this sort of harsh environment.

You know, and I think that that sort of teaches you to be wise, to use your brain.

It's like this is our, this is our biggest tool right here.

My God, it's done.

We did it.

See, it's sinking in. We frickin'...

-We did it. -We frickin' did it.

We conquered.

Three, two, one, blastoff. Oh, my God, this is crazy.

Oh, my God!

Whoa.

Whoo!

We're doing it!

Coming into this challenge, I was a little bit timid.

I've never been away from home this far and this long.

But this whole experience has made me stronger,

and once you step forward, you don't turn back.

You just keep going until you make it to the end.

Oh, my gosh. I am so content and tired right now.

I feel like this is the first time I've been able to let my guard down in three weeks.

I never doubted that we would make it through,

but it, it tested me in ways that I didn't expect,

and it just feels so flippin' good.

- Hell yeah, wild women! - -Whoo!

21 days! Naked And Afraid, let's go!

Bye, Africa.
