I, I, I don't live here all the time.
It's my parents' place.
But, so like, I can't pay,
I, I can't keep you anything permanent.
But, I mean, I could pay you something to chop my wood
if that would be okay.
- Like split logs? - Yeah.
- Sure. Yeah, yeah.
I can do that. - Cool.

I'll bring you some water.

Oh, man.
I used to love coming here as a kid.
I loved the freedom.
Being away from the city.
I mean, how can there be any problems by the lake?
Getting lost in nature.
I, I, I know that's not the case now.
Hey.
Thanks for the help.
It's 500.
- I only asked for...
Thank you.
- Where are you living these days, Paul?
- I got some land up in Plainfield,
just a mile west of Taterland Farm there.
- Yeah. How's that?
- No running water
and the shitter's been full since October.
- How many tours?
- Tours?
- You were in Afghanistan?
- Oh.
Yeah.
I don't like talking about my time in the service.
You think I can get another one of those?

but do you wanna come in and shower?

Does it give you inspiration?
- Yeah!

You're the one with the notebook.
- Uh, you're the one with the accolades.
- No, I wrote, like, four good songs.
- Four more than me.
- So,
you're really sure that you don't wanna sleep with me?
- Uh, only if we finish an album.
Even then,
still a maybe. (chuckles)
(tense brooding music)
Um, do your parents know you're here?
- Paul's gonna be done soon.

- You want the truth?
- Always.

- Yeah. That's my hunch.
Probably outgrew it.
