When I first saw him, I was a bit scared.
He looked so angry like this.
[(Shiver)] I thought, 'Wow, this person must be really scary.'
There's no one like this tsundere in the world.
[(Awkward)] Yes, that's right.
[Chemistry Matching Game]
Hi, Cosmo!
In the Netflix series "Take Charge of My Heart"
I'm Kim Young-kwang, who plays the role of Baek Ho-rang.
Playing the role of Na Bo-bae
[Chae Soo-bin] I'm Chae Soo-bin.
Cosmo's "Chemistry Matching Game" interview.
Starting now!
[First round / Warm-up]
[Q. What do you expect today's chemistry score to be?]
I think it'll be 12 out of 10.
[(Oh?)]
I say 100.
- But it's out of ten. - Yes.
[(Feeling tricked)]
[Q. Give each other a word of encouragement! (In character from "Take Charge of My Heart")]
Na Bo-bae
[(Curt)] do your best.
Baek Ho-rang, you do your best too!
[(Feeling small)] Alright.
[Second round / In unison]
[Q. What do you call each other?] Usually?
Hey! Bo-bae!
[(No misunderstanding)] Not because we're not close, but because we are.
Ho-rang! Young-kwang!
Like this?
[(Not quite the feeling)] Were you always this calm?
[(Real version)] Ah, hey! I think I said it like this a lot.
[(Young-kwang's memory of Soo-bin)] Hey!
Something like this.
[Q. What's a cute point about each other that fans don't know?]
I think he's the most unique person I've met.
What's unique about me?
When I first saw him, I was a bit scared.
And he's tall and has a great physique.
[(Shivering)] I thought, 'He must be a really scary person.'
There's no one like this tsundere in the world.
He really does everything you ask him to do.
Even our staff members
say, 'Hey, do this, please,' he does it all.
He's such a warm person.
[(Awkward)] Yes, that's right.
When Soo-bin goes to the set...
My role is a third-generation chaebol.
So there are lots of places to lie down, like sofas and beds, at home.
She's always lying down!
[(I agree)] Yes, I like lying down.
She always arrives at the location before rehearsals.
[(Into Soo-bin's world)] As if she's from another world.
She lies down until it's time to film, then she films.
And then lies down again.
I think the way she lies down is kind of cute.
[(Explanation)] It's my way of recharging.
[You don't lie down much at home, do you?]
I sit.
I find that so fascinating.
How do you just sit at home?
[(Hmm)] I sit at the dining table or places like that.
I don't lie down after getting up.
If I lie down, it's hard to sleep at night.
[(Two who will never understand each other)] - I sleep well! - Lucky you...
[Q. What was your first thought upon reading the script of "Take Charge of My Heart"?]
It's childish but really fun.
I'm on the same page.
The script reminded me of the art style of a romance comic.
At the beginning
we all gathered with the production team to talk.
It's a familiar taste
but it's really delicious!
That's how they described it.
[(Nod)] That's right.
[What was the most refreshing setting in the show?]
First of all, It's quite unique
that a person can generate that much static electricity.
A man appears in front of a woman who generates static electricity.
And a heart powered by a battery.
[(A fateful setting)] These settings were really refreshing.
They provide a reason for acting.
I think we filmed it really enjoyably.
[Q. What lines were memorable during filming?]
The drama's title is "Take Charge of My Heart," right?
But I actually say this line.
The interesting thing is...
[(Telepathy)] It's in the same scene.
When I say this, she responds like this.
Na Bo-bae, recharge me.
I'll save you, Baek Ho-rang.
Check it out on Netflix!
[Third round / Listen and draw!]
[Listen and draw / Answer: Golden Retriever] Alright, this friend here
has a face.
[(What the)] What kind of face?
[(Steadfast)] Just start drawing.
How do you know if it's an animal?
It's got a smiley face.
The nose is black.
The ears are slightly triangular and droopy.
And the fur is fluffy.
The eyes are somewhat round.
It has four legs.
The tail is a bit long.
[(Crucial hint)] It always seems like it's wagging its tail.
[(Getting a bit annoying)] Oh, there's quite a lot.
This is how you do it.
[(Tsundere)] Oh, is that how it is?
And the tongue is sticking out like this.
Oh, you drew it well.
[(Better than expected)]
It's a Golden Retriever.
Oh, it does look like a dog.
Why doesn't it have pupils?
You said the eyes were just round.
About the eyes...
[(Quietly correcting)] Right.
[(Tends to do everything asked, subtly)] Should I do it like this?
[(But the results aren't always good)] Oh no, it's messed up.
- Show it quickly. - Oh, I don't want to.
[(The Golden Retriever has gotten quite tired)]
[(The second round is a free prompt)] This one is kind of...
[Answer: Let's guess together] The face shape isn't quite square.
It's round but kind of looks like a square.
Is it angular?
Yeah, kind of.
The eyes are really big.
But the mouth is also really big.
The mouth is stretched wide to the sides.
Is it smiling?
It's smiling, but you can see all the sharp teeth inside.
The nose is an inverted triangle between the eyes.
It's shaped like a rounded inverted triangle.
The ears are really big, kind of like elephant ears.
And there's a bit of hair on top.
- Ah! - Do you get it now?
[Answer: Stitch] Is it Stitch?
[(Surprise)] Oh, how did you know?
[(Heehee)]
[Answer: Try guessing along with us] First, the face is a bit elongated and oval-shaped.
It's shaped like an egg.
Egg!
Like an egg.
The hair is spiky, especially the bangs.
[(Striking hairstyle)] Hey, you should've mentioned that first.
And the eyebrows are really thin, like this.
It's shaped like, oh, round like that.
And the eyes are a bit small and close together.
The midface is long, and the mouth is small and round.
And there's a long runny nose like this.
[Answer: Boo] Ah, it's Boo!
[(Regret)] You should've mentioned the bangs first.
- If only I had known this earlier... - It's similar.
[(Ending with a stamp)] Boo.
[Fourth round / Balance game]
[A comforting person who recharges your heart vs. Someone who makes you laugh until your battery runs out]
- Number two. - The one who makes me laugh. Number two.
After waking up
living alone, going to exercise
I don't think I laugh much.
If someone makes me laugh all day like that
I think I'd feel really happy.
I also think being able to laugh and have fun is better.
[Chemistry where you understand each other because you're similar vs. Chemistry that surprises you because you're opposites]
- Number two. - Number one.
I just wish we could understand each other without words.
The process of adjusting to differences is a bit...
It's because you're lazy.
- It's a bit tiring. - Because you're always lying down, you see.
[(Stop)]
[(The Soo-bin behavioral scientist, Young-kwang)] Because you don't like it when you're not allowed to lie down.
Maybe it's because I'm not very active.
I think it would be better if there were things opposite to me.
But she wants to go out every day.
Then we go out every day...
[(Suddenly tired)] Oh, stop it...
Let's stop going out.
"Let's take a break today," I should say.
[Chemistry where you hold eye contact for a long time without words vs. Chemistry where you start teasing as soon as you make eye contact]
- Number two. - Number two.
If I hold eye contact for too long, somehow
[(Is this a duel challenge?)] I might be like, "What are you looking at?"
What are you looking at?
Feels like we might fight.
It's almost animalistic.
When we playfully tease and mock fight
there are serious fights too, but it's not always like that.
Yeah.
[Has there been any change in the initial chemistry scores?]
Out of a perfect score of ten
I'll give it a perfect score of 100.
I'll also give it 100 points.
I think drawing went pretty well.
The explanation was good.
[Zap] Whose?
You.
[(Tap)] This one did well.
