Original subtitles

I'm not going home.

Let the games begin.

They've proven they're the best... Yeah!

...of Naked and Afraid.

With my bare hands!

Now, the toughest survival competition on the planet is back...

Yes!

...and more cutthroat than ever...

This time, you either have the skills, or you don't.

...to put 14 elite survivalists to the ultimate test...

...in an all-out battle of skill...

...for 45 days in Africa's Munzwa Valley...

...to crown the best of the best... Yes!

Ah.

...and win $100,000.

This is what I live for, yeah!

Failure means elimination.

This challenge will weed out the weak.

Who will rise?

This is $100,000 on the line.

Who will fall?

It makes me feel like I'm such an outcast.

This is the best of the best.

With only one winner.

And who will be the last one standing?

I came here to win!

Previously on Last One Standing...

At a new location, vegetarian, Dani's deteriorating health sent her home...

And there were six, I guess.

But Gary took advantage of the available resources.

The scavenger is now the hunter.

And the survivalists learned

of an imminent digging competition,

prompting Jeff to make a move for one of Fernando's tools.

I would trade you for the shovel or the Pulaski,

-your choice. -Yeah.

-Thank you, bud. -Sure.

On the eve of the competition,

Gary overestimated his stomach's ability to digest his aged kill.

-It's killing me. -You all right, Gary?

And midway through their migration to Zone 4...

Here's the spot, I'm thinking.

The survivalists learned the challenge-changing stakes ahead...

Today, we'll test your bush craft skills.

The first to finish will earn control.

-Control? What does that even mean? -What?

-Okay. -Ooh.

-This is new. -Yeah.

One of the biggest elements of survival is control.

You wanna have some semblance of control

over your environment and your wellbeing,

and I don't want somebody else in control of my fate.

I'm more than a little nervous.

Just when you think you figured it out,

there's always a curveball here.

-Ready, what else? -Let's see the rest, yeah.

At the next survival area, they will assign the survivalists two camps.

-Ooh. -Whoo!

One camp of three at the buffalo skull,

one camp of two at the nyala skull.

But there's six of us here.

Huh.

The last place finisher will have to surrender any earned assets

-to the first place winner and camp alone in a solo boma. -Whoa.

-Alone? -Wow.

-Oh, my God. -This is crazy.

The winner's advantage is control over who

they'll camp with at Zone 4.

They will assign a group of three at the buffalo skull

and a group of two at the nyala skull.

The loser will be forced to camp alone,

and fend for themselves.

I came here to win,

and the big advantage of getting first place in this challenge

is you get all the assets of the last place loser's,

which is an amazing plus, especially this far into the challenge.

I feel good because I have a shovel,

arguably the best tool out there.

To be in a camp all alone.

It's not easy, especially if you lose all your stuff.

So, as the person with the most valuable

and most cache items, I don't want to be last.

-Well, there's more. ...Yeah, ready to see what's next?

-Ready, what else? -Let's see the rest, yeah.

Oh, this is the bit that makes me nervous.

Drop your pots at the foot of this tree.

Today, you will boil water without your pot.

-Whoa. -Wow.

-Boil pot water without your pot? -Without your pot.

Each survivalist must dig a seep well to collect water

that will be boiled in a primitive basin using heated rocks.

-Wow. -This is nuts.

That doesn't sound easy at all.

This multiphase challenge

will require the survivalists to primitively purify water.

They must use their digging tools

to make a seep well deep enough to reach the water table below ground.

Seep wells are utilized by animals and humankind alike,

when rivers and lakes have dried up.

I think I'm just gonna try for it here.

It's basically just a hole in the dirt,

like a meter down, and then you'll find water.

Survivalists must then transfer their water to a primitive vessel

made by digging a basin and shaping a watertight wildebeest hide into it.

To purify the water, they must add heated stones

to bring it to a boil.

That's no small feat.

-Yeah. -No it's not.

- To boil water? In a natural vessel? -That is a lot.

That's a tough one.

Rock boil, water purifying.

I've done this multiple times in my life.

I've even done it on my very first challenge ever in Madagascar.

Oh, yeah, that's 212, easily.

-It's hot? Okay. All right. -Yeah, absolutely.

So that should have killed everything out.

It's like my ten years of Naked and Afraid are now culminating

and all coming back to this moment.

To finish, reclaim your pot

and fill it with the boiled water from your basin.

Your challenge starts now.

Oh, man.

There's more to this challenge than digging a hole.

But I'm pumped because I do know how to hot rock boil

and what I don't have in strength and endurance

I need to make up for in my skill set.

Oh!

Purifying water is one of the most important things

in a survival situation.

You can only last a couple of days without water without dying.

Even less in a situation like this.

But, uh, you have to do these things in a certain order

in order to be the fastest,

and with different properties of the rocks and other materials out here,

there's a lot of problem solving that's going to come into play.

Ahead of boiling their water,

survivalists are free to strategize the order they begin.

Either first digging a well or starting a fire.

Before I dig the seep well, I want to start a fire.

I want to get a fire going because I want to get the rocks as hot as possible

while I am digging a seep well.

All right. Fire first.

Okay, where's my fire starter?

The strategy with this challenge is gonna be everything.

Right now, I'm collecting rocks first.

Surface area is the key.

So I'm getting the small ones here.

With these rock boils, it's all about total surface area

and two small rocks have a greater surface area than one large rock,

which will boil the water faster.

-It's tough. -I gotta do this challenge weak,

but the winner gets to decide who gets to stay in the camps with each other.

Well, I'm fighting to be the last one standing.

That would go a long way.

Fire, boom.

I'm the first one to get a fire started.

Fire.

Okay, that's good.

I'm going to get medium sized rocks

and those rocks I'm going to put them at the base

of my fire and put the fire on top of them

so I don't have to put the rocks into the fire.

Lighting my fire

so that I can have the rocks hot sooner rather than later.

Come on.

Come on.

Fire.

Ooh, that's hot.

Doing good, fire's going.

And now, before I dig the seep well, I'm gonna get some rocks heated up.

I have never made a primitive basin

to boil water with superheated rocks.

This is complex, advanced survival right now.

Now... I've got all my equipment ready.

Sticks, rocks.

Ready to go.

And I start digging immediately.

I have a baobab fruit cup in each hand,

and they're gonna work great as a shovel.

I'm digging like a dog as fast as I can.

I start to see water.

This is great. Now, I gotta get fire going.

I do notice that Patrick digs his well before he lights his fire.

That could be the difference between winning and losing this challenge.

The seep wells take a while to fill,

so can only just dig deep.

I got my digging tools, baobab seeds

and some bark that's shaped like a scoop,

but that should cover every aspect I need.

I feel water seeping in.

I see it.

Right now, I have to boil water, but in a primitive basin.

Okay.

It's gonna be fire intensive out in the hot sun,

but I came to play.

The scapula of a large kudu

is a great shovel in itself.

-And I'm strong. -I have a leg up here.

I've got the brute strength in this one and I'm going to use it to my advantage.

Okay. I got it.

Before I know it, I'm at the bottom.

And I reach water.

Okay, next step.

In a primitive basin, there's a lot of little things that are gonna come into play.

I'm going with more of a trough design

so I can maximize the surface area,

get water in there and get rocks in there.

And if I need to,

I can cycle rocks in and out of this trough really, really easily.

Once the survivalists achieve a boil,

to finish, they must retrieve their pot and fill it until it overflows,

making the minimum amount of water they collect and boil critical.

A wide and shallow basin's advantage is maneuverability

and increased space for rocks of any size.

But the larger surface area risks evaporative cooling.

And water lost through vapor.

Finding the water.

I have my seep well dug, so...

This gives me the chance to dig my primitive basin.

I'm using primitive items to complete this challenge.

I have some sharpened sticks.

The indigenous people in Australia used to use digging sticks.

So I've crafted a couple of those for myself.

While a narrow and deep container is more insulated,

rock size becomes critical.

Though smaller rocks warm up and transfer their heat faster,

they cool more quickly, as well.

Alternatively, larger rocks take longer to warm but give off more sustained heat.

I just, like, hit myself in the face with my own digging stick.

Definitely got a bit of a shiner going on.

What can I say?

Embarrassing, but true.

I'm feeling really good about my digging tool.

It's an actual shovel.

I went really low on the seep hole,

and now I'm waiting for the water to fill up in there.

While it's doing that, I'm gonna start digging a primitive basin.

I gotta get fire going.

I use some jute.

I get it going.

Ky, Dan and I have been an amazing team.

If one of the three of us gets to be first place,

then we can assign the teams as we feel fit.

Plus, we get all the assets of the last place person to use for ourselves.

The more we have, the more we control

and that is huge out here.

Right now, I got my water coming in.

I got my fire going.

I gotta start building

something to put my water basin in.

I know it doesn't look good.

The entire time I'm getting everything else ready,

the majority of everyone is digging their well.

I collected the rocks, collected the fire materials.

I'm doing the fire, and then I'll do the rest next.

That way my rocks can be heating while I'm doing everything else.

My fire, getting it right the first time, that's my goal right now.

So that my rocks are hotter than everyone else's when I dump them in my water.

The winner in this challenge, gets to control the challenge going forward.

So if I can win this challenge,

that allows me to play the game the way that I want to.

While all six survivalists have fire,

only Patrick and Gary's seep wells have enough water

to begin filling their primitive basins, placing them in an early lead.

Right now, I'm filling up from my seep,

while my rocks are heating up.

Feeling pretty good.

In the middle of the pack are Ky, Dan and Fernando,

who are fashioning their wildebeest hide basins while their wells fill.

Behind everyone is Jeff who has only completed one phase, lighting his fire.

Now I can do my other tasks while my rocks heat.

I feel like I have an upper hand with this Pulaski.

Fernando, so the only other one out here with a digging asset.

But my endurance, my tenacity,

I think I've still got him beat.

Pulaski looks like it was a bad choice for this challenge, Jeff.

-Keep talking, rookie. -Doesn't seem to be helping you very much.

Keep talking, rookie.

Patrick's trying to get in my head.

What he doesn't know is I'm the professor of the class that he's trying to teach.

The seep well is dug.

Now I'm gonna let it take some time to fill

and I'm gonna finish my primitive basin.

Everything's going really well right now.

Jeff is just starting to work on things.

I'm getting ready to heat up my water.

I'm improvising, bigger rocks are gonna contain heat longer than smaller rocks.

Got a significant lead right now. I'm feeling pretty good.

Everything's ready to go. Put these rocks in,

then I'm off to go get my pot, and be number one!

What was that, Patrick?

Huh?

I'm the Legend Slayer.

I'm gonna beat Gary.

I need more water.

And beat Jeff.

Okay.

This could be a huge win for me.

Keep talking, rookie.

You don't even know you're losing.

I'm about to take this rookie to school.

Come on. Mmm.

That's what I like to see. That sizzle right there, baby, that sizzle.

Patrick has the early lead

in the water purification challenge.

That one's a hot one, baby.

He is the first to drop hot rocks into his basin.

Gary is not far behind.

In the middle of the pack are Ky and Dan,

whose basins have nearly enough liquid to start transferring rocks.

Meanwhile, Fernando has caught up from his slower start with the aid of his shovel.

His freshly dug seep well is filling quickly.

It's coming.

Heading up the rear is Jeff who continues to focus

on fashioning his wildebeest basin while his rocks heat.

I know it doesn't look good.

It's like watching the Kentucky Derby,

and the horse you picked is... he's in last right now.

But you know, he's a closer and I'm a closer,

and that's because my strategy has got my rocks

hotter than any other rock in anybody else's fire, I can guarantee you.

I believe I'm gonna be the first one to boil.

All right, my primitive basin is complete with some holders,

so we can pull the water up

and out.

Get some rocks out, throw them in the water,

immediately, the water right around the rocks starts bubbling.

It's really hot today.

We're working around this raging fire.

I am exhausted, but on challenge day you cannot let up.

I begin transferring the water from the seep well

to the primitive basin, using baobab cups.

Slow start, but now I'm getting the hang of it.

Some people are stronger and some people are faster.

-But you know what? -Some people can be smarter.

A lot of people are eyeing off the bigger rocks

because they think they're going to heat them up.

And that that's going to boil the water in one quick swoop.

But it's not. It's gonna take a rotating circle of smaller rocks that heat quickly,

and that's going to be one of my strategies to get that water boiling.

It's hot. I can vouch for that.

I'm putting more and more rocks in my water,

but it's not getting hot enough.

This is troublesome.

I'm throwing the rocks in, I figured they're hot enough.

Ooh.

And the rocks cool off instantly as soon as they hit the water.

I was going too fast,

but, uh, they're cool enough to grab, throw back into the fire.

I gotta reheat those babies.

Getting some rocks real nice and hot.

Putting those babies in the kiln.

The water all around the rocks are bubbling, but everywhere else is not.

Argh, that's hot, that's hot.

I need to get all of this water boiling, you know,

if I want this water to be safe to drink, in a survival situation,

all of the water would need to come to a rolling boil,

not just the water that's, you know, immediately touching the rock.

I need to keep cycling 'em in.

Argh.

So my strategy here is to fill my hide

with water rather than transport water over.

I believe it could save me some time.

It might be good. Okay.

This is a good sign.

This shovel is actually proving really useful for getting the hot rock.

This water is so freaking hot to touch.

Getting the water to a rolling boil is tricky,

and I'm super concerned

about the fact that I may not have put enough water in my basin to fill my pot.

Just gonna put in a couple of spoonfuls more.

Just... As I don't wanna have too little.

It's gotta be close.

I can't rush rocks getting hot.

One of us is gonna be isolated

in a boma on our own, without any assets.

It's going to be a tough road for that person,

and I don't want to be that person.

Okay, so now, I'm adding my stones.

The interior ones first, the ones that have been the hottest.

My basin is deeper than everyone else's I'm seeing here,

but also my rocks are smaller than everybody else's,

and this allows me to add many, many rocks to my seep well,

without it overflowing.

I can't get my water to a rapid boil,

no matter how many rocks I'm putting in this.

Gary and Patrick's early leads have evaporated,

as they struggle alongside Dan to reach a rolling boil.

Not quite hot enough yet.

All three have pivoted to cycling rocks, like Ky.

God. Gosh damn.

Meanwhile,

Jeff and Fernando's positions rise along with their water temps

as they transfer their first round of rocks.

I definitely have to add more rocks.

As I put rocks in, uh, it's not boiling yet,

and I see how many rocks I have left in my fire,

and I'm getting a little bit nervous

'cause I'm running down the last five or six.

I have a boil.

Yes!

Once boiling is achieved,

survivalists must race to retrieve their pots,

which will hold their purified water.

For the final task of this challenge,

the survivalists must transfer the hot liquid

from their primitive basins to their pot.

Fernando, we all know he's the nice guy out here.

However, there's more layers to this onion

than just nice guy.

-He's a firefighter, man. -He likes adrenaline,

and I believe he loves to win.

I'm not letting him pass me up.

That means I have to push myself to the limit to get this win.

I think my water is almost boiling.

I'm in first place, but I don't wanna let myself

ever get complacent and think that I'm home free.

It's boiling everywhere.

This is what I live for!

Pressure's on a bit now.

People are passing me now.

I have to not finish last.

Yeah, baby! Ha-ha!

My rocks were hotter than anybody else's,

and my water boiled within seconds.

Whoo!

Yes!

The challenge isn't over yet.

Jeff might have his pot.

He might not have enough water.

Anything could happen.

The first survivalist to fill their pot

to the point of overflow will be crowned the winner.

At this point in the challenge,

the power to decide the camps

could be the difference between being the last one standing or not.

So, I just give it all I got.

I don't want Jeff in control of my fate.

It gives me anxiety, I'm not gonna lie.

I have the chance to dictate the future.

And if there was any challenge I could win

up to this point, this would be the one.

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Almost full.

I'm neck and neck with Jeff for the first place

in this challenge.

Almost full.

I definitely feel the pressure.

Whoo! Yes!

Yes! Whoo!

Oh, my God.

This is what I live for right now!

Ah!

, huh, Patrick?

Patrick was trying to come after me.

You talking to the legend, bro!

Yes!

- Not only did Jeff beat me... ...Yes!

...after talking to him,

but now Jeff gets to pick the camps.

Man, this sucks.

Whoo!

Okay, 'cause Jeff didn't beat me in the deadfall trap,

so he's not actually the legend.

He's just one of us out here.

I just won, baby.

I'm in the control seat.

To have Jeff in control of me

is not something that sits well in my stomach.

But I have to push that out of my mind right now.

I need to finish this.

This strategy wins every time.

Everyone here thought they would beat me

'cause I was the last one to start digging.

-But you know what? -I planned it that way.

Yes!

Strategy, baby, that's what it is, strategy.

I made the deal with Fernando in obtaining the Pulaski,

which helped me win this challenge.

So, this mentality that got me here to this first-place finish,

I'm gonna keep that for another 10 days.

Oh, my God! Whoo! Yes!

Holy cow!

This is no joke.

I am physically and mentally fried.

But very proud and very happy.

I'm keeping my assets.

Yes, yes, baby!

Yeah! Yes!

That is boiling to touch.

My water's boiling, I run to get my pot.

Two pots are gone, not the last one.

Don't make any mistakes.

Yes!

My adrenaline is through the roof.

I just don't wanna be last.

Yes!

I just don't wanna be banished to be alone by myself.

Dan is racing to catch up with Ky

who has third place in her grasp

as she begins to fill her pot.

Come on.

In last place are Gary and Patrick

who continue to struggle to reach a rolling boil.

That rock just cracked from that heat.

I have my basin set up like a trough

so I can just sort of slowly tip it

and get it all into this pot without spilling anything.

No!

My heart sinks.

-The water was boiling. -Some water must have boiled off,

and I miscalculated slightly.

Me.

I'm freaking out right now.

This could really set me back.

Just reboil a little bit of water.

Just a little bit.

I'm just gonna need one more scoop.

Yes!

Whoo!

Holy cow!

This challenge was a muscle challenge,

but it was also a challenge of skill and knowledge,

and I used every bit

of skill and knowledge to make my way

through this challenge and get third.

Third, but the only one without a survival tool

going into the challenge.

-Good job, Ky. Good job. -Good job. Good job.

Fernie had his shovel, Jeff had his Pulaski,

and I had primitive tools only.

So technically, if we're looking at it

as a primitive survival challenge...

I won the day.

I just have to say, for any of you

who think I'm the token female out here, I'm sorry.

There's no token about this female!

Having completed the challenge,

Jeff, Fernando and Ky's assets are safe.

Meanwhile, Dan, Gary and Patrick's fight

for their items heats up.

They're getting hot.

Whoever finishes last forfeits their items to Jeff

who finished first.

That's boiling hard now.

Finally, I get a boil.

I'm feeling terrible, in a way

that's messing me up bad, messing my brain up.

I was in a very good place.

First one to get a fire started,

one of the first filling up my hide full of water.

Now, I just want to stay in the game.

Finally, a rapid boil.

I'm chucking more water into this primitive basin

to get it refilled.

Again, that's good. That's good. That's good.

I'm the last one to get their pot.

This is scary.

This means that I could be losing all my assets,

camping by myself.

I'm freaking out.

I'm feeling the pressure.

It's damn close.

I got to wrap this up. I gotta hurry.

I'm huffing and puffing, and I'm not slowing down.

Seconds matter.

Ah!

Damn it! I gotta hurry.

Pretty good.

Ow!

Dan, Gary and Patrick scramble to fill their pots

and avoid last place.

I miscalculated slightly,

but I just need to reboil some water.

And I already have hot rocks in the fire.

So, I throw some more rocks into my basin

and try to get this water boiling.

Pretty quickly, it comes to a rolling boil.

Okay, my water's boiled.

Okay.

It is full.

-I'm not last. -I'm not banished by myself.

I don't have to give up any of my assets.

So I'm... I'm running out of here

with a... a manic smile on my face at this point.

Only Gary and Patrick remain in the race against last place.

The loser must surrender their items

and will be forced to survive alone in the African bush.

Now, I have to start thinking strategy.

-Three, two... -'Cause I get all the items

from whoever loses.

I'd rather see Patrick lose

'cause Patrick's been talking.

But strategically, I want Gary to lose

because Gary has the most to lose,

which means I have the most to gain.

This much water, less than a quarter inch...

...shy of overflowing.

Need more water.

-I made the mistake. -I didn't put enough water in.

Gary's pot, it's almost full.

It's almost to the brim, but he ran out of water.

Okay.

I was talking, and now I'm getting scared.

It looks like it's tied right now, seriously.

This is last one standing!

-Great job. -Thanks.

Great job, man.

All right, I'm done.

I blew it.

That far away.

I lost everything I won

in this challenge to Jeff, and I'm sleeping alone.

Jeff now is a powerhouse.

Well, I guess I'm picking teams, baby!

Oh.

I don't like Jeff's control.

I'm very stressed about this one.

Survivalists must now complete

their three-mile migration to Zone 4,

where Gary will be sent to camp in his own boma.

The remaining competitors will be split by Jeff

into a camp of two and a camp of three.

While navigating the rocky foothills of the sheer cliffs

between them and their destination,

they must remain vigilant of basking, venomous puff adders

and leopards perched from above.

A series of watering holes awaits them on the other side,

offering fishing and hunting opportunities,

and the risk of run-ins with territorial herds of elephants.

Whoo!

Yeah, what a hot day.

Lot of elephant dung here, though.

I mean, there might be water near

-if that's any indication. -Maybe.

Going solo out here in Africa

can be scary and challenging, but I'm not too worried.

I have more days in Africa than any survivalist.

So I know the challenges, and I'm prepared for them.

The wheels are already spinning in my head right now.

I'm thinking, "How do I pick

the camp assignments to benefit me?"

But also I have that devil on my shoulder,

and I'm thinking, "How can I arrange these camps

to hurt someone else?"

Jeff, I haven't been able to check the map.

How long do you think we've been walking?

A couple hours at least.

Jeff, he knows Ky Patrick and myself are strong as a unit,

and he'll probably try to split us up...

which scares the out of me.

Honestly, Dan, it doesn't really matter which camps we get put in.

It's a win-win-win for us.

You know, if Jeff puts himself with Fernando

to protect himself from us,

then, uh, the three of us will be together.

But if we get to be on Jeff's camp,

we get to with him the whole time.

Patrick's been scheming since the very beginning of this challenge,

but I have my limits,

and to be honest, I need a break.

It clears out up here, under these trees.

Wow!

Oh, I see a buffalo skull.

-Yeah. ...You guys see our skulls?

-The buffalo and the inyala? -Well, there's two of them. Yeah.

Guys, we have arrived.

-About time. -Wow.

That was hot.

-Uh, yeah. -Whoo!

It's go time.

If you know Jeff like I know Jeff now,

Jeff loves power.

Jeff loves the spotlight.

Well, you guys, this is a first.

So of course, Jeff has us sit around him in a circle,

like he's the chieftain.

He even props up his backpack

so that he can be higher than the rest of us.

And he's got that eating Jeff grin on his face

that I knew was coming a mile away.

Before we assign teams, I, uh...

Could I get those items and...

-Yeah. We'll start with this. -Okay.

Dani's knife.

-Oh, wow. -Ooh.

Losing all my cached items, it's killing me.

- Well, thank you, buddy. Thank you. -There you go.

I think that's it.

I think that's it, a bow, arrows,

cast net, knife, salt.

This decision on how to arrange the camps,

I think I have just the right plan.

I'm gonna put myself in the best camp possible for me,

a camp that gives me an advantage.

Ky, why don't you stand up there?

And, uh, Fernando, stand next to Ky.

-Ooh, okay. -Fernie.

-All right. -Yeah.

And, uh, Dan, why don't you stand next to Patrick here?

Uh-oh. Okay.

-Now, we've got two teams, two people each. ...Yeah.

Does Jeff have the balls to put himself

with Dan and I in the same boma?

The inyala skull, as the map said,

this is the skull with the camp of two.

This is the skull with the camp of two.

-Yes! -There you go.

And we're buffalo.

-All right, we're buffalo. -All right.

-I'll take buffalo. -We're buffalo.

All right, Gary, as a... as a solo camp by yourself,

I don't want you to feel left out.

But you get the monkey skull, my friend.

Right on. Very fitting.

It might be your best friend a week from now, so...

-Yeah. -Yeah.

I know people love to hate Jeff,

but one thing Jeff is is unashamedly himself,

and I gotta respect that.

He's competing to win a lot of money,

and he's doing it the way he wants to.

I wanna be partnered with winners.

And I don't forget who came in second and third on this previous challenge,

and who came in at the tail end of this challenge.

-And so I'm going with the winners. -Ha!

-Sounds good. -All right.

Patrick and I are solid contenders.

We took down the two largest game animals out here so far.

We're still competing as individuals, but I trust him.

And, uh, I'm feeling good about it.

So thank you, Jeff.

-Well, let's get started. ...Let's get to moving.

-Let's get off. -Yeah.

Get started.

I... I think I really like the idea of in here.

-I do, too. I'm glad we're on the same page. -Like, we could like...

-Fernando, what do you think? ...Shade.

-Shade is key. -Yeah.

-If we've learned anything from bomas... ...Yeah.

...watch the sun.

-That's gonna make or break your boma. ...Exactly.

Yeah.

Get out of our boma. We gotta get building here.

Oh, no... no worries about that.

-All right. -Thank you.

-Good luck, Gar. -Good luck, Gary.

Good luck, you guys.

I'm by myself.

It definitely makes me nervous.

Off in the distance,

I hear an elephant snapping a huge branch.

I mean, we're talking Africa.

You don't build a boma, you don't live.

Oh, wow. Looks like some shade in there.

My solo boma, I find a good one, a very natural one.

This looks like it might be a prebuilt boma.

By nature.

Survival is always easier with more hands,

so no one wants to end up in a boma alone.

Gathering firewood, boiling water

and feeding myself, just me alone

people think it's easy.

It is not.

But, hey, I always make the best of everything.

Eight challenges deep, everything I've seen...

I think this will be enough.

The lone wolf, the outcast of society.

Yeah, he picked the safe route there.

But I like our odds.

I like our odds a lot, too.

-We've done great in this challenge. ...Yeah.

Knowing that Ky and Fernando

aren't gonna mess with him inside the boma is a safe bet for Jeff,

but a dangerous one

if he has to compete against Dan and I working together.

When it comes to Jeff and I,

we'll see who can beat the other at their own game.

We have natural boma there.

It's already kinda blocked off there.

We just clear out some of these sticks and stuff.

-What do you think? ...And it's already mostly built.

-Yeah, and there's a lot of sand and stuff. -Okay, I'm on board.

-Okay. -I'm on board.

We just have to seal these parts off.

-Pull it in here? -Yeah.

Yeah.

I don't think anything's different now that Ky's in a different camp, do you?

-No, not at all. -No. She's probably...

Ky has our back 110%.

Jeff thinks that Ky is gonna, like, keep him safe.

He holds her hostage.

-It's not gonna happen. -Nope.

If anything, any kind of secrets

that Jeff has, Ky's gonna tell us.

Okay, clear.

Perfect.

That's great.

I'm thinking this looks pretty, hug?

Right, dude? This is phenomenal.

Jeff, Ky and myself, we have a lot of work to do.

Uh, bomas are very labor-intensive.

We start chopping acacia thorn trees,

making our perimeter to keep out the dangerous animals,

the... the lions, the hyenas.

Nice work.

Good job, guys. Very good job.

-I think this is gonna be a good team. ...Yeah.

I... I'm gonna enjoy just some...

No, this will be peaceful.

-Yeah. -Yeah, peaceful.

-Right. -Yeah.

Peaceful.

Patrick just seems to be on a warpath with Jeff,

and, um, I do not agree with that.

And I feel super grateful I'm not with them, you know?

We don't have to fill the boma with firewood tonight.

We just need enough to get through.

Yeah. Good point.

We'll leave it at the entrance or whatever.

Yeah.

You're probably right.

I don't know, just... We've got...

Patrick seems determined to, uh, make it spicy.

I got along well at camp with Patrick and Dan.

We all looked after each other.

It was a really nice little family unit.

But Patrick's meddling and manipulating,

I tried my best to keep out of it.

All right, with this one, we should be closed in.

It was very, very wearing.

So, I am officially back to just fighting

officially back to just fighting this challenge on my own,

and I'm fine with that.

It's Team Ky moving forward.

Jeff, when are you gonna build your boma?

You mean the... the boma mansion 2.0?

That looks kind of small for a boma mansion.

It does.

You should see ours.

Ours is even bigger. It's huge.

Why did you build a big one for two people?

Why not?

It took us no time at all.

We've already had a fire, cleaned all the ground up.

-Mmm-hmm. -Ky knows how we roll.

Okay.

We even got a little shady nook, Ky.

You're gonna love it.

You wanna come see?

We have room for guests.

Okay.

Ky isn't one of them.

Ky isn't a Patrick.

She's not someone to try to hurt someone else

or try to embarrass someone else.

Ky resembles Fernando's type of energy.

And it's making me stronger.

I feel more ready to go to battle,

knowing that I have a couple of friends here by my side.

You should, um, consider there's an hour before sunset.

I'm really tired.

Yeah, today took a lot out of me.

-Yep. -Let us know if you need a hand, Jeff.

Really?

The rookie.

I put them together. That's not a mistake.

Dan and Patrick are gonna be

under their own dark cloud of negativity.

Two mean dogs into the same small cage.

I don't know if Jeff thinks the boma fairy

is gonna build that thing, or what.

I don't know what he's thinking.

Well, at least he's got Ky and Fernando to do the work for him.

Negativity infects the mind.

And if I can do that to them,

it gives me a good chance to win this thing.

After that hike, we need to find water.

Hey.

Hello.

So I got some questions for you.

-I bet you do. -Yeah.

Are you sharing stuff with Jeff?

Yep.

What are you sharing?

I don't know. He's not asked for anything.

Patrick being so thoroughly defeated by Jeff

in that last challenge has really riled him up.

Are you going to share a catfish with him, you think?

Um, yeah.

He's acting like I'm a hostage in a bad situation,

when it's actually a weight off my shoulders.

We were fully prepared to just basically

stay as like the camp that we had before

and screw everybody else.

But like I'm not going to not share

with the people that are in my camp.

And I'm not singling Jeff out, so.

Okay.

I've seen Patrick from the very beginning of this challenge

manipulate each and every person out here.

Nice work.

Thanks, man.

Can I taste a little piece?

I mean, you don't have anything to trade?

Really?

Really, dude?

What meat have you caught yourself?

Ugh.

-You guys are like kind of acting... -Did you say, "You guys"?

I'm just standing here processing the meat.

My strategy is to be the best person I can

and Patrick's dragged me into the politics.

It's negative and it's not supportive of me

and who I want to be out here.

But I understand that, you know, you have your strategies.

Okay.

I thought, mentally, we're in a camp with Ky still.

But that's not the case,

and she's treating me like a stranger.

This isn't the Ky I knew.

So, yeah.

Our meat cache is dwindling, so fishing?

Okay, good idea.

Got up early and, uh, we are nailing down our plans

from now until 45,

which require getting a lot of nutrients,

getting a lot of protein,

doing a lot of hunting and a lot of fishing,

getting ourselves ready for whatever may come.

I have the fishing line.

Okay.

I talked to Ky after everything happened,

and now that she's in a new boma,

uh, with other people,

uh, she plans on sharing with them instead of us.

Just like Ky's worried about herself,

Dan and I are gonna have to start worrying about ourselves too.

Ready?

Let's go.

-Right here, yeah? -Nice.

We found the water source,

and it is this beautiful oasis.

I got three grasshoppers now,

so we've got five altogether.

Nice.

I'm gonna pop them on the line.

Yeah.

Yeah, there's a bunch of them, dude.

Ooh! Got one.

No way. No way.

Whoops.

I'm untangling the line, and I already got a fish.

Yes! yeah!

Yes, that was quick.

Mmm-hmm.

There you go.

Two catfish in less than 30 minutes.

This is insane.

Good job, Patrick.

Whoo! This is gonna be a good day.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna take the cast net down to the lake

and see if I can pull anything out of there.

Sounds good.

-You know what? -My mind is on food.

I know that to make it to day 45,

I'm gonna need to eat everything I can.

And now, I have all the tools in the world right now

to go out and try to get myself some food.

So that's what I plan on doing.

-Come see the gorgeous lake we have. -Yeah.

Yeah.

Wow, look at this.

I'm going to scare up some grasshoppers for some bait.

-Good luck, Ky. -You too.

Oh, here comes Jeff with his stupid cast net

to ruin everything.

I'm worried as soon as that cast net hits the water,

all the catfish feel the vibrations

and go bury into the mud.

Oh, I got a... got a little fish here.

That's a good sign.

All right.

Got a little bigger one that time.

You got fish, did you?

Yeah. Yeah.

Two fish. They're small.

Catfish?

Little perch.

Nice.

We got a line right there, Jeff.

Why do you have a line all the way over here?

-I'm holding it. -Yeah?

Fish number three.

Four.

Okay.

We go from catching fish on hooks pretty quickly

and pretty easily to, all of a sudden, nothing.

It's shut off.

Good toss.

Thank you.

Ooh-hoo, okay, that's five.

Six.

Seven.

This is adding up.

How many you guys got so far, Patrick?

Two.

Oh, yeah!

I wish I had taken that cast net and melted the thing.

And then I could just be fishing with my hooks right now.

But there's Jeff, throwing it in,

ruining the fishing for all of us.

Oh-ho-ho, yeah!

It pisses me the off.

We got a few of them in here.

Eleven, twelve and thirteen.

Yes!

And these small ones are actually not bad

because you can fry up and eat them whole.

That looks good for bait, dude.

All right, rookie.

Yes!

Oh, yes!

Oh, this is a monster.

Fish number 20 right here.

Yeah, baby!

Whoo!

We're having some surf and turf tonight.

God damn it.

When you start doing well, people start not liking you.

Well, I hope by the end of this thing, they hate me.

Having a fish feast.

That was a win.

Yeah.

And Patrick was making fun of my protein poppers.

Look how delicious these are gonna be.

Mmm-hmm.

Jeff caught a bunch of fish

and he offered them up between me and Fernando,

and he did not have to do that.

Protein popper?

I know people love to hate Jeff, but I don't care.

At this stage, I know that a couple of small fish

and a catfish definitely is going to help me

to the finish line.

-Mmm. -Oh, my God.

-Wow. -Everything is crispy.

Every bone in its body, you can just eat.

They are almost better than the big ones.

-I know! -Yeah.

Jeff, thanks again, man.

It's not lost on me what you're doing, you know.

Thanks, guys.

Thanks for saying that.

I've been thoroughly enjoying my time in this camp.

Today has been the day I needed.

-Right? -Mmm.

Rehydrate, replenish, refuel.

-Well, I'm in a position now. -No items.

No food.

Nothing at all.

On the previous Last One Standing,

I wasn't very well fed, and it broke me.

Oh, my God.

I just wanna lie down.

But I know exactly where to focus.

Foraging, just scavenging,

harvesting by climbing trees to nourish myself.

Acacia,

pollen.

One of the richest forms of vitamins in nature, pollen.

Flowers.

But, man, some honey... would be everything.

God, I wish I could find real bees.

Mopane hive.

The white waxing in that little hole,

that's their insurance.

I have no items.

But if I could get Jeff to let me borrow that Pulaski...

me and him could be eating a little bit of honey.

Even though we're competing as individuals,

I know that I can benefit from Jeff having all that stuff.

I don't wanna chop away on that.

I'm gonna go and get that Pulaski.

Hey, Jeff.

Gary.

I was wondering,

could I borrow the Pulaski for a little bit?

I would make a deal that I would...

if I get honey, we share it.

Yeah, sounds good.

-All right. Thank you. -Cool.

Yeah.

I'm not worried about Gary.

The man lost everything to me,

literally, on the previous challenge.

He's got nothing.

This is where I have an advantage.

A desperate man is a useful man.

-I'll bring it right back. -Yeah.

-Okay, cool. -Cool. Yeah.

Time to go harvest some honey.

There's one week left in this challenge.

The next phase, it's gonna be rough.

So it's time to get busy.

And voila.

I'm high up.

About 25 feet off the ground.

But I'm just going for it.

Mopane wood.

It's a super-hard wood.

But ain't no stopping me now.

Aah!

Ain't no stopping me now.

Aah!

Whoa.

Oh!

So close.

Holy crap.

Whoo, man.

All right.

Oh, there it is.

Look at that pollen.

Oh, my God.

One tablespoon of mopane bee pollen

contains 45 calories, 5g of sugar and 3g of protein.

All that honey right there,

that'll be my little secret.

Although I'll probably share it with Jeff.

Gary Golding is operating again in Africa.

I didn't get much,

-but we got honey to eat together. -Wow!

-Wow! -Look.

Dude, that's a lot.

-Hell yeah. -That's what I use it for.

-Great. -And I'm gonna share it with you.

Yeah, baby.

You want to eat some together?

Well, yeah.

Yeah, so check it out. Here.

Isn't that good, bro?

It's a cookie.

These trades that I keep making

are making me stronger every step of the way.

-I mean, this is a solid... -Here's the rest of that.

...solid meal.

It's pure vitamins.

It's pollen.

This is so good.

Me and Jeff had a deal.

He let me use the Pulaski, he gets half the honey.

I wouldn't have got the honey without the Pulaski.

Man, that'll pay off in multiples.

It's strategic.

-Thank you, buddy. -All right, cool.

-Good work on that honey. -Yeah.

All right, guys. Well, it's day 38,

and this may be one of our last opportunities

to score a big meal.

And if we do, we're eating good till day 45.

-I know! -I know.

This could be the boost we need to just carry us home.

Yep.

So the plan for today is go hunting.

Fernando and Ky,

they're gonna head off in one direction

while I'm going off in another.

-Okay. Good luck, guys. -Take care.

So I'm gonna take this bow,

and, uh, I'm gonna put some meat on the table.

I hope you guys have incredible success.

- Dude, same to you, man. We're rootin' for you. -Yeah, you too.

Thank you, guys.

A week to go in this challenge

and to be left standing so far, I'm proud.

And I'm, uh... I'm focused to keep going.

My four kids,

I mean, this money would... would go to, just,

there's so many different needs in our family.

What about this location?

It's a good-sized lake. Looks promising.

Yeah.

Like, there's already these fallen branches and stuff.

Shore it up.

The watering hole is really, really small,

giving the animals very limited options

of where they can go.

It's well concealed,

but you can still stand while you're in it

for a better bow shot.

I reckon that's looking good.

A great little window, a bit of shade in this heat.

This looks like a great, great find.

I'm already the last female out here.

I've been taking one day, one moment at a time.

And I'm going to continue to do that.

So for me to be well rested, well fed,

is the way I'm going to get to day 45.

I found a great location and, you know,

and there's all these trees around.

It's going to be pretty easy

to put together a little blind.

In fact, right over here, there's...

some thick bushes.

I'm just going to kind of build up

this natural thicket a little bit more.

I'm going to cut down a few more mopane branches

and lay them up to completely cover myself

with a couple of shooting lanes up high.

I'm feeling hopeful.

I'm just gonna hang out here.

It looks like it's a good spot to hunker down for a while

and hopefully see something come in.

But I'm definitely gonna have to hide.

We are hungry.

Jeff has already ruined the fishing here.

I'm getting frustrated.

We need a big win.

We need a good gorge of protein and meat.

It is a hot day.

The animals are gonna be coming for this water.

And I think I have a pretty good chance

to see a big game animal before it sees me.

All right, I've got my blind set up right now.

I have my bow, my arrows.

I'm going to light some elephant dung right now.

The smoldering elephant dung will mask my human scent

and allow the animals to come in,

even if the wind is swirling.

All I have to do is wait for the animals to come in,

make a good shot, and the rest is history.

There's a warthog coming in right now to the water.

I'm gonna let them get comfortable

and see if they come closer.

I'm gonna take the shot.

I found a good spot here.

Getting a big animal score,

that would be the the biggest greatest moment

in my 10-year Naked and Afraid career.

I can't see anything.

The trickiest spot, though, with this blind

is there's this one specific shooting hole

facing one specific piece of the pond,

and, uh, we have to wait for the kind of animals

to come into a certain area to take that shot.

Finally, a male Impala lines up

for the perfect shot for Fern.

It was so close.

Uh... the animal literally, like, ducked,

and it went right over his back, his neck.

It's really, really frustrating.

Uh, the goal is to stay as strong as possible

because these challenges are really, really hard,

and you have to keep your energy up, so...

over the next few days, I'm a keep hunting,

keep trying to procure food.

This is not going to be easy.

This... this next week is gonna be brutal.

So, probably, time to head back now.

Okay.

It could have been a game changer.

Oh!

That was a close call.

Impala, they are a lot quicker than a nyala is.

They're not as much meat, not as big of a target,

but they react fast.

They hear the snap of that bow

before the arrow even makes it to them.

It's a tough shot to land one of those.

This thing is gone.

Honey, I'm home!

I took shot in an impala.

You did? Oh, what happened?

Dude, they, like, react quick.

As soon as they hear that bow string, they're moving.

Where were you sitting? Was it even in the blind? You were just sitting there

-under that tree? -Just sitting there in the shade.

Wow.

Yeah, baby!

What the

This is what I live for!

What is he doing?

-Yes! -What? Did you catch a snake?

Hey, Jeff.

Yeah, I got a snake!

A pretty decent one.

Wassup?

-Oh, man. -Wait, what?

What?

Yeah, baby!

What is he doing?

This is what I live for!

What? Did you catch a snake?

Yeah, I got a snake!

A pretty decent one!

Oh, man.

Wassup?

Wait, what?

What?

I got him.

Yes!

I got him!

These impala, they're incredibly fast.

They can run a long distance, so...

I think I might have a track on my hands.

But I got him. First shot of the day, baby.

First shot of the day.

Yes!

Here's his tracks.

He ran on this game trail,

right up through here.

I saw the arrow sticking out of him.

Here we go. Here's some good blood here.

A few drops here. One, two, three, four...

Oh, that's a good sign.

There he is.

There he is.

Oh!

Yes!

Oh!

Yes!

This is the greatest success I could have ever hoped for.

I am so happy.

This is everything I've dreamed about...

for ten years... doing Naked and Afraid challenges.

I'm gonna be feasting on backstraps,

tenderloins and rump roast, baby!

I'm gonna be at full strength,

going into whatever challenge lies ahead.

Yes!

Yes!

Gotta do a little warrior's war paint.

If this were to be my final Last One Standing.

If this were to be my final Naked and Afraid,

the last time I wear this satchel,

then this moment will live forever in my memory.

This is one of the happiest days of my life.

This is what I live for, baby.

Right now.

Two hundred and eighty four days...

in my Naked and Afraid career,

and this is arguably my greatest success.

This is the moment, I rededicate myself

for the next week of this challenge,

and I go and win this thing.

What do you think of that?

That's not too bad.

Not too bad.

-Wow. ...That's a nice little guy.

I'm actually shocked.

Jeff has never gotten a bow kill ever.

Ever... on Naked and Afraid.

This is gonna be a big advantage for him

for the rest of this challenge.

This isn't good.

I'll bring some meat over tonight.

-Cool. -Thanks, man.

My entire Naked and Afraid career,

I've tried to get in people's head,

and it's given me an advantage over the years.

Well, now everyone thinks

I'm not gonna share this thing.

So you know what I'm gonna do?

After ten years of not sharing...

I'm gonna share.

I'll come drop off some steaks later.

-yeah, dude. -Do you want any help or...?

-Um, I don't... -Like, no strings attached.

No, I don't think so. I think the help I'll need

-is when my camp mates get back. ...Yeah.

-I'm gonna see if they can put up a smoker real quick... Uh-huh.

Jeff says that he's gonna share with us.

-That will be a... -a kindly accepted offer.

But... I know Jeff,

and he knows what an advantage it is

to have a big food source like this

this close to Day 45.

Um, and he's not gonna give up that advantage to everybody.

Good job, dude.

-Okay. Thanks, guys. -Good job.

-It's nuts. -I know.

I can't even believe that.

When Patrick saw this thing hanging...

his eyes were this big around.

He's been talking for weeks.

You don't talk to legends that have done the things...

that are currently only in your dreams.

You know, I've got this angel and this devil on my shoulder.

And while early on, I was listening to the angel,

this devil, it has a lot of worthwhile ideas,

especially about Patrick and Dan.

Yeah, I'm playing hardball with them.

I'm gonna go give this entire leg to Gary.

And then I'm gonna cut this leg off,

and I'm gonna go give this to Dan and Patrick.

You... you can't make your competition too strong,

with only maybe a couple of challenges left.

So, one leg for...

Dan and Patrick...

and one leg for Gary.

Knock, knock.

-Hey. -I... I bring... I bring gifts of joy...

-Oh, my God. -...that's a honker.

Yeah, dude. Thank you very much.

That's a whole impala leg just for me.

-Thank you, brother. -And then... Yeah.

And then I'll give them, you know...

a few scraps to throw in a pot.

And then he has another one in his hands.

It's just, like, bones...

that he's gonna give to Patrick and Dan.

-Well, thank you so much, dude. -Yeah. You're welcome.

All right.

I gave Jeff some honey yesterday,

returns a big chunk of meat.

Time to get the stew going.

You've got to watch who you ally yourself with

and how you treat others,

'cause you never know what's coming down the pike.

And this, my friend...

is living proof.

Jeff hooked me up.

Hey, what's up, guys?

Hey, man.

So, instead of bringing you over a couple of steaks,

I figured I'd just bring you a leg

'cause I know how much you like the stews.

Jeff comes over,

and he ends up sharing a little bit of meat.

Just, basically, a bone with some scraps on it.

Fair enough. Fair enough.

I'm trying to do the right thing by people.

I may forgive, but you know what?

I remember.

The only reason why

the two of us are sick with diarrhea,

is because of the rotten food that Dan put in the pot.

I'm sorry.

Yeah.

I shouldn't share anything with them.

All the crap that they've been talking,

they don't deserve an ounce of meat

from my impala kill.

But this is gonna get in their heads.

They're going to be like, "What's Jeff planning?"

-And you know what? -The more they're thinking about me,

the less they're thinking about the next challenge.

And that's my strategy.

Nice. Cool. Thank you, Jeff.

-Yeah, of course. -I appreciate this.

Yeah, sure thing. Enjoy him.

I wouldn't mind a little slice.

You wanna cut me off a slice?

Yeah.

Like, hardly anything.

-Oh, hey! -Hey, guys.

How you doing?

Good. How are you?

Been a long day.

Well, I hope you're hungry!

I am! Oh, my God!

You got one?

Look at it!

We walk into camp, Jeff's covered in blood.

He looks exhausted.

He's got food everywhere.

It's amazing.

-I've got a cooking feast going on. ...Oh!

-So, backstraps and tenderloins here. -Yeah. Okay.

-And... -Oh, my goodness.

-We have an entire pot of meat here. ...Oh, my goodness.

This pot is heart and liver.

Oh!

-Jeff, well done. -Unbelievable.

Aw!

I think we've got to build some type of smoker.

-That's what I was gonna get on to next. -All right, so...

-like a tripody one, and then just start... -Yep.

-...cutting smaller bits? -That's what I was thinking.

And then we can take some cordage...

-Yeah. -...wrap the tripod in cordage,

-and then drape the meaty pieces... -Yep.

-Hundred percent. -...over the cordage.

So grateful for Jeff.

And so, I'm pumped to be part of his team.

And we're gonna help build a smoker,

and get the remaining little bits of beef into biltong,

and... and feast.

-I just wanna get one more. -Yeah.

Food at this point is critical.

So, Jeff getting a kill here could be the difference

between being the last one standing or not.

We're gonna be able to hang every ounce

of this impala over this smoker.

-Amazing. -Yep.

All right.

First, I'm gonna get a little broth.

Oh, my God, that is so good.

This definitely gives me an advantage to be rested.

I don't gotta sit in the sun and hunt.

I don't gotta butcher it, go anywhere.

Zero calorie output.

I just get meat delivered to my door,

and it puts me in this beautiful position, Mmm.

Having the proper allies,

teaming up with the proper people,

has paid off big time.

And that is definitely... strategy.

So good.

Love it.

All right, what's about to happen?

We're about to have our first impala.

-Dinner is what is about to happen. ...Whoo!

Ky, you're first up.

Oh, my goodness.

-Look at this! -Look at that.

-Look at that. -Fresh... It can't get any fresher than that.

-Fernando! -Holy cow!

Yep.

I feel like I am at a Brazilian steakhouse.

-Yeah. Yeah. -I do.

Day 38, you were a winner.

The great thing is, we'll be... We'll be full energy,

-as full energy as you can get. -Yeah.

This impala... this is life, and this is energy.

To Day 45.

Yeah, baby.

Unbelievable.

Chew it, buddy.

When other people are feasting, and I'm hungry,

it bothers the hell out of me.

Jeff's impala is obviously a huge food score for them.

Meanwhile, Patrick and I,

we are getting weaker and weaker and weaker every single day.

I don't wanna lose strength.

And, um, it makes me nervous.

I don't know when the next competition day is coming,

and I can only imagine what that's gonna be like.

And that could totally take me out of this game.

Put these rocks in, then I'm off to go get my pot,

and be number one!

For this competition,

the PSR or Primitive Survival Rating

weighs an individual's survival skills

and items collected

to determine the likelihood of becoming...

Gosh, I can't.

...the last one standing.

Ow!

Dan struggled with his primitive boiling technique.

No...

And his failure to secure a steady food source...

You got a line right there, Jeff.

...puts him at a deficit for future challenges.

We go from catching fish on hooks

to, all of a sudden, nothing.

His PSR drops from 9.8 to 9.7.

All right. I'm done.

After Gary finished last in the challenge,

he relinquished all his acquired items,

and was forced to camp alone.

The lone wolf.

The outcasts of society.

But his expert foraging and climbing skills

turned up a significant honey score.

Oh. There it is.

Look at that. Pollen.

Gary's PSR remains steady at 9.2.

Okay, this is gonna complete it here.

Jeff's strategy and bushcraft skills

-led to his first win of the competition. ...Whoo!

Yes!

And he followed that up with his first big game kill.

Yes, I got him!

Yes!

His PSR soars from 9.4 to 9.7.

Hope you're hungry!

-No! -Oh, my God!

Check it out. So, here's... here's Ky.

How are you feeling, Ky?

Okay.

Christmas tree fit for a carnivore

-Mmm-hmm. -...right here.

And then, uh, Fernando.

Oh, whoops. Sorry.

You don't see Fernando.

You know why?

Because our smoker got in the way.

Oh, my God, I'm feeling full

for the first time, in 38 days.

It's amazing.

It's fantastic and I'm happy.

I'm, uh... I got emotional today

when I brought that impala down.

This could not be any more different

-than on the previous Last One Standing. ...And what was it like?

At this stage in the game, we were all starving.

Wow.

And this time around, we are gonna have leftovers on Day 45,

which is a good problem to have.

Well, I've been laying here

thinking about how it's probably the lowest

I've been feeling this whole challenge.

I'm hungry.

My stomach's cramping.

Time to try to get some sleep.

Hopefully, Dan and I can put an animal down,

get some meat in us for the next, you know, six days.

And that's what's important, to make it to Day 45,

and become the last one standing.

I mean, how much is too much?

There's no too much out here, Jeff.

-Really? -No.

Say no more.

-My body feels magnificent. -Mmm.

And this is building muscle and tissue,

and everything in your body.

-It gives us the strength for challenges coming up... Yeah.

...but it also gives us the opportunity...

-Yeah. -...to rest and prepare.

Yeah.

Day 39 is looking pretty fine, huh?

Uh, guys!

-What? -What's that?

We have more scrolls in our skull.

What?

Looks like we've got some scrolls.

Scroll action.

All right.

Well... this is a surprise.

Let's check this out.

Let's see what we got.

"Head to the X on Day 40."

Wow.

It's not far away.

"You will leave your firestarter behind,

and create primitive fire."

Ooh!

Wow.

Oh, my goodness.

It's friction fire once again.

God!

On Day 40 of the previous Last One Standing,

that ended up being

the one challenge that eliminated me.

I gave this challenge my all.

This scroll is bringing back a lot of memories for me.

Wow.

That beast friction fire

was the hardest challenge of all.

Oh!

My body can't do any more.

I toiled for three days.

This challenge is so real.

It wiped me out.

It sent me home.

This time around, that's not gonna happen.

I have to fight now.

-Wow. -This is crazy.

Yeah, it is.

I'm having deja vu.

You know, I beat Jeff and Gary last time...

Oh, my God.

...but it was insane.

It nearly broke me.

Uh, hopefully, this time

I have enough energy to get to the end.

It's the start of the end.

Beginning of the end.

This is gonna be tough.

Gonna be crazy.

I'm feeling extremely nervous, so I'm gonna need

all of the little tricks of the trade

that I know about primitive fire-making

to get me through this challenge.

This is one of the hardest,

if not the hardest bushcraft skill.

Potentially, someone's going home tomorrow.

This is gonna be an uphill battle for me.

Wow! Here I am

for the second Last One Standing in a row,

facing primitive fire.

I thrive off of getting another opportunity.

And I'm better prepared for this challenge than I was last time.

I can do this.

I will do this.

And I'm gonna win this thing, baby.

I'm gonna win.
