Original subtitles

I'm not going home.

Let the games begin.

They've proven they're the best.

Of Naked And Afraid...

With my bare hands.

Now, the toughest survival competition on the planet is back.

Yes!

And more cutthroat than ever.

This time you either have the skills or you don't

To put 14 elite survivalists to the ultimate test.

In an all out a battle of skills,

for 45 days in Africa's Munzwa Valley.

to crown the best of the best... Yes!

Ahhh!

...and with $100,000.

This is what I live for!

Failure means elimination.

This challenge will weed out the weak.

Who will rise.

This is $100,000 on the line.

Who will fall?

Makes me feel like such an outcast.

This is the best of the best.

With only one winner,

and who will be the last one standing?

I came here to win.

Previously on The Last One Standing...

This will be an elimination challenge.

O.M Jesus!

The survivalists were tasked

with building primitive torches.

It seems to work pretty damn good.

And embarked on a two day migration.

Whoa! Look at that cave.

Where their camps were disbanded.

From now on, you will compete as individuals.

And their tools surrendered.

I would have known I would have ate more.

Oh, man! Not again.

The first ever nighttime elimination challenge

came down to Fernando and Trish.

-Oh, my God! Oh, my God! -Did you do it?

With Fernando completing figure-four deadfall trap first...

...staving off elimination and sending Trish home.

Good luck.

-Good luck, Trish. -Good bye.

Last one standing was very difficult, but so rewarding.

And then there were seven.

Yeah.

Gary's victory landed him three tools.

-Gary's got two bows. -Oh!

Gary, a cast net and half of my entire food cache

for one of those bows.

I'm in.

-Whoa! ...You know what deal is a good one

when both parties are stronger because of it.

-Hey. -Right off the back.

-And everyone else? -They're weaker because of it.

and that is exactly where I want them.

Waking up one person less.

There's amazing sunrise.

Overlooking all of this land

we've been surviving on for a month now.

It seems like a sign for new things to come.

I guess it will be one camp now, at the moment.

We're really entering

the personal competitive part of this challenge.

People are changing.

Half the meat is yours.

Yeah.

For the rest of this challenge,

we are working as individuals.

No one's your friend out here.

Everybody's competing for $100,000.

Yeah.

And you know what?

-I'm glad. -'Cause I've just been waiting for a reason

to bring old Jeff out of the basement.

Yeah.

I've got Gary wrapped around my finger right now.

It's the most amazing trade.

By letting Jeff get the bow, he's going to feed me

and nourish me with meat.

I am now armed to the teeth.

With the energy I need to be the last one standing.

This heat's not getting any cooler.

Let's head on out.

All right, let's put on our packs. Let's do it.

I will miss this place.

-Yeah, it was beautiful. ...We will.

The survivalists are beginning the second day of a two day migration.

Nothing but a case shift trees out here.

-Really? -Yeah.

So authority.

The seven survivalists

are now competing as individuals.

And we'll share one camp in Zone 3,

which lies three miles east

along a riverbed that has dried up in the summer heat.

With shade baring the ala trees

and several small watering holes.

The area is frequented by Impala,

warthogs and territorial elephants.

Who when threatened, charged with their head bowed,

trunk tucked and tusks raised for maximum impact.

I hope we see some signs of water soon.

This is a dry, hot place right now.

Last night, Trish got eliminated.

It's always disappointing to see another female go home.

So moving forward.

It's just me and Dani.

I'm exhausted.

I'm not getting as much nutrients as everybody else,

a lot less energy,

and it's making my challenge more difficult.

It's getting greener over here.

And more dense, though.

It looks like it could almost be a river bank.

Look at that tree.

Wow!

-Whoa! -This is awesome

- Holy! That's a massive skull. -What? What!

-Check out that, it's an elephant skull. ...Elephant skull.

Well, it seems we've arrived at our new camp location.

There's a giant elephant skull

sitting at the base of this large tree.

-All right! ...One big happy family.

Let's drop our stuff and go for a scout.

We are competing as individuals,

but now we're all in one camp.

And that can complicate things a little bit.

I have six other survivalists here that I want to eliminate.

We're gonna need a boma up before...

-We're going to need a boma. ...Yeah.

Home Sweet home, we'll see.

I think we probably each need

-to be able to find our space within the boma. -Yeah.

My issue would be there's elephant dung everywhere.

We need to be able to get into a tree

because an elephant or a rhino

could push right through that stuff,

and the only thing that's gonna protect us from that is that tree.

Good plan.

It's a lot of work ahead of us.

I'm gonna start chopping.

-You get an axe. ...I'm gonna start chopping.

I am clearing out all of the thorns

and all of the animal scat that's on the ground here.

I am completely burnt out.

I am lacking like thousands of calories

compared to everybody else.

I'm excited to explore this new area.

A lot of my food tends to grow along

water edges or riverbeds.

We'll be done in four ax chops at this rate.

I'm gonna take a second and reflect how happy I am over here.

To still be in this challenge.

Last night I came very close to being eliminated.

I have never finished

in last place in a challenge before.

That was eye opening.

I realize how bad I want to stay here.

Down to seven from original 14.

That's half and I'm still here.

Yeah, I'm proud of that.

I came into this challenge

and I didn't really think I belonged

with these elite survivalists.

I see myself more of a dad, a husband.

I have a minivan.

I feel like I have to work extra hard.

And be super-efficient and precise

on these challenges to stay in this challenge.

-That is a boma wall. -Right?

- That's perfect. Look at that. -Wow! It's a nice wall.

Nope.

Thank you, though.

I'm the oldest one out here.

This is the last one standing.

This is all about the young lions

trying to take out the old lion.

Need a hand?

I don't think so.

Me and Jeff are two vets,

are supporting each other.

The others are worried.

It's smart to want me gone.

They're hungry for it.

Might be able to get a stew on.

Yeah.

Make sure you let me know.

I have plenty to contribute.

Share stews are good.

Because then we could just don't have any wastage, you know

That's some more hog ribs.

My strategy from the start has just been to share

and cooperate with everybody,

and I think ironically, being in this big group,

I can find those like-minded people

like Ky and Patrick, for example,

They're are two of the most skilled people out here.

This is going to be nice.

It's going to be delicious.

Look let's just put this fatty piece. What do you think?

Yeah.

Patrick comes up with creative ways to solve problems.

But I think my biggest competition out here is Ky.

She has the attitude and obviously the bush craft and survival skills.

I mean, this could be one that goes

for a couple of reheats in a couple of days.

So I think your biggest competition out here

can be your biggest allies as well.

Thanks.

Want baobab?

Uh, no, thank you.

I think Jeff's worried about his teeth.

Yeah, I I have a little sore back by my left bottom molar.

-From just one baobab yesterday. ...Yeah.

While baobab fruit has roughly

the same calories as a small orange

and 10 times the amount of vitamin C,

It's also among the most acidic foods in the human diet.

But like my mouth's not used to it, either.

Mine has not gotten used to it and my lips get sunburned

and then eating them with like sour, sunburned lips

-is like no so excruciating pain. ...Yeah.

Built ourselves a very giant shelter here.

Ky, Patrick, Dani and myself.

Kind of huddled over here on one side,

and Fernando, Jeff and Gary are on the other side.

Around two big fires.

It's dangerous out here.

There are rhino tracks everywhere.

When you're in a brand new spot,

the animals aren't used to you yet.

Yet you can startle them a lot more easily.

It's gonna be a pretty dangerous spot

to be living, to be hunkering down.

Today is a new day in a new environment in a new area,

and we're thinking there may be a map today.

Now what's going to be on that map?

Are there going to be caches?

If there are caches,

I mean, it would probably be fun to work

-with other people to find them. -I think so.

That's... That's my personal stance anyway.

I understand other people's strategies.

Yeah, and Jeff's keeping extremely quiet

'cause he's going to race off by... by himself.

-But... -Which is fine.

But if we're all in one camp like we could also just,

divide everything and share it.

What if it wasn't big enough to go around seven people

-Like if it was like it cost... -Like one hard-boiled egg,

Who in this group needs it the most? Dani does.

If I found it, I wouldn't give it to Dani.

-Yeah, I... I... -Jeff wants to starve me out.

At this stage in the game.

I would kick my own grandmother down the stairs

if she were playing this game with me, all right?

We've got maps.

No helping people to the finish line.

That is over.

I guess there's one each, right?

There's one each, check it.

-Ooh! ...You wanna open them at the same time?

-Do it. -I can open it.

Ooh.

-I like the snap. -This is your camp.

As the competition enters its final two weeks,

Zone 3 is limited to only two advanced survival tool caches.

Get digging to earn a survival tool,

Search the termite mound to earn a survival tool.

Only two and there's 7seven of us.

Wow, guys.

In this zone, it will be your choice

to share or trade items as you wish.

Now that the survivalists are in one camp,

the sharing of tools is allowed

as a component of strategy.

I mean, I guess it's going to be up to the individual

to decide whether we go as a group.

I don't mind going in a small group.

-I'm happy... -What I get.

-I am happy to share. -Yeah.

I look at Patrick, he nods.

-He looks at Dan. -Dan nods as well.

And I know the three of us

are going to be going for these caches together.

We're going to be moving quick.

I'm picking, choosing, who I work with out here

Your best survival asset

is your partner and your brain.

And my brain is telling me to work with these two.

Do you want to dig or search the termite?

Yeah.

Some of my competitors they came to play.

Sneaky little mice you.

Calling me all sneaky.

Look at you.

We're all cut from the same cloth.

We wouldn't be here if we weren't all competitors.

I can see the competitive spirit.

It is ramped up.

Everyone ready?

Let's do it.

As I'm running out of camp, I'm going full speed.

Uh-oh, it's a riverbed, huh?

We're in the fourth quarter right now.

And that's when I bring in old Jeff

and let him do the dirty work.

They're all running on boulders.

I'm like, hopefully they roll their ankle on a boulder.

And today's elimination day.

-Let's go ahead and take our time. ...Okay?

My strategy is I'm going for the farthest away item.

The closest item is the one that's hidden in a termite mound.

South African termite colonies

build giant mounds made of saliva dung, and soil

that can reach up to 100 feet in diameter.

There are several termite mounds in Zone 3.

Finding the one with the hidden survival item.

Will require the competitors

to use their navigation skills.

I'm counting every single one of my paces

because I already measured up my steps on the map.

Every termite mound I run by.

I'm digging out with sticks and I'm kicking it

and I'm making it look disturbed.

So all my other competitors that run behind me,

they think, Oh, he's found it.

Look at this disturbed termite nest.

Meanwhile, I'm not even going to look for the termite item.

I'm going for the farthest one.

This is what I live for.

The old Jeff's just dying to get involved in this game.

As Jeff attempts to sabotage

the competitors behind him,

Dan and Patrick have pulled ahead.

Dan and I spot the termite mound.

-We're jumping. -We're climbing all over trying to find it.

Uh!

I found the paracord first.

This cordage. This is huge out here.

Paracord is lightweight, waterproof,

and can hold up to 550 pounds without breaking

That means no more carrying

huge, heavy ropes all the time.

Go to the next one.

Dan sprinted off to the next cache.

Keep going, Dan. Crush it.

This could be one of the last assets in this game,

and now I have something to help me

become the last one standing.

If I can take Jeff out or Gary out,

I'm calling myself a legend Slayer.

Oh, my gosh! Look at all this cording.

Okay!

With the paracord secured.

Jeff and Dan navigate East each scrambling to claim

the second survival item.

Now I'm pretty close.

And that one is get to digging.

That's gonna be a hard one.

Where do you dig?

You have to be spot on

I count out about 120-130 paces and get to a spot

where I'm supposed to dig for a cache

and I find a whole

a warthog den or something like that.

And I'm like, this has to be the place.

So I get down on my knees.

I'm in this hole.

I am digging and digging and digging.

That Jeff road's up behind me.

How's it looking under there?

Yeah?

Dan's got his elbows deep in this hole right now,

and I'm not surprised.

Dan and I are the only ones

that know how to navigate my paces.

And I'm thinking he's found it, you know?

What am I gonna do? Jump on his back

and I put my arms down in the same hole? No.

Look.

Termite mound.

Why is nobody here?

Did nobody see it?

Me and Dani are doing the tortoise and the hare thing.

Maybe somebody could've grabbed it already.

Yeah, someone could have found it already.

Hoping that patience and proper pace count wins a day.

What's it say for the next item?

Does it say to dig?

Yeah, but that's also where everybody else is going.

You wanna go there?

Um, I'm thinking if everyone else is there,

I'm gonna go the other way.

Dani's in a tough spot.

She's acting tough.

She's hanging tough.

But she knows she needs to find something to eat,

'cause this ain't gonna last much longer.

I'm gonna head back.

I don't feel good.

And I just want to lay down and... I'll go with you.

My biggest ally has been Dani.

So there's this sort of loyalty there.

I'll let you lead But Africa is not

for vegetarians, capital, N-O-T.

No.

Dan and Jeff have the one up ahead.

They have it?

Well, they're there.

Jeff and Dan are way up ahead.

I'm neck and neck with Ky.

-She's passing me. -I'm passing her.

Our goal is to get some assets.

I didn't get very many assets on the last challenge

'cause I came in last place,

and so I don't want to fall behind with my tools.

You got it yet?

Uh, no.

No, it's a deep... -Deep, deep hole. -I don't know.

All right.

-Okay. How can I help? -I don't know.

-I don't. ...Does it mean something to us?

Oh, my gosh.

-What do we do with this? -Yes. Dig this!

This is it!

Fernando touches the handle on the ground.

Okay.

Five feet behind me.

I've been there for like 10 min, working at this thing.

Goddamn it!

Fernando walks up, uses a little common sense,

slows his mind out a little and sees the damn item

sticking out of the dirt.

It's a survival shovel.

I'm proud of myself.

So far I don't wanna jinx it.

I have a knack for these cache hunts.

Not exactly sure how it's gonna come into play.

The next challenge could involve having to dig

a big hole or something, I don't know.

Good job.

You know, for all of our landscaping needs

between this and the Pulaski call Fernie's Landscaping.

Fernando may be the nicest guy you've ever talked to,

but like a leopard.

In the brush.

He's kind of coming in under the radar.

I have four words.

"I drive a minivan."

-What am I doing here? -"I drive a minivan."

I don't even think you drive a minivan anymore.

-Okay? -I don't even believe

you have four kids anymore.

It's all BS.

-No. -Look at you.

I have no doubt that Fernando wants

this $100,000 for him and his family.

Oh, man. Ah!

This guy's gonna compete hard to the end.

I'm not taking my eyes off, Fernando.

Okay, let's head back.

-Let's divide this evenly between the three of us. -Let's do that.

All right.

Dan, Ky and I we're divvying this up three ways tonight.

-You want me to go up here? ...Yeah.

Like we discussed, right? As soon as we got those maps.

Let's work together and divvy up what we get.

Between seven people, that's a great idea.

Have we figured out the math on that?

Yeah.

Yes, we are sleeping in one boma.

But Patrick, Dan and Ky

they are their own team right now.

Luckily, cordage is something pretty easy that

-we can divvy up and something super useful... Yep.

They have preemptively formed this-

This partnership, this clique, if you will.

-Teamwork paid off. -It did.

I really appreciate this.

- Yeah. -Yeah. Thank you, guys.

Hold on. Thank you.

And they're picking a fight with us

against Gary and I.

They've got to be out of their damn minds.

They're poking the bear.

All right, guys, I'm gonna see what I can find out here.

- All right. -Good luck, Dani. Good luck.

All right, Dani. Good luck.

I'm going to look for any kind of wild edibles at this new location.

I'm hoping to find berries, potatoes, cactus, eggs, anything like that.

I'm seeing a lot of buffalo thorn.

Just over a month that I've been on this diet

and at the same time trying to compete with everybody else

that's getting like thousands and thousands of calories

and like a really a well balanced, awesome meal.

And I feel like I'm just reaching the breaking point.

And it's really uncertain how much longer it can go on.

I see some kind of fruit.

Unfortunately, this is like the poison apple fruit out here.

The African poison apple

is not related to true apples.

The green fruit contains high concentrations of solanine,

which is toxic to humans.

It's so hard.

Because these are actually like

the biggest sized fruit I've seen other than baobab.

And of course I can't eat them.

If I don't find protein in the next couple of days,

I'm not gonna have what my body needs like to repair and rebuild.

How do you feel?

I'm still alive. I'm just, like, very, very weak.

Do you think you're getting worse at all everyday?

Uh...

I just kind of feel the same.

That's true...

Like, I'm not going to get any more energized.

-I'm kind of just at the baobab Plateau. ...Yeah.

It is what it is.

I've just been crying all night and all morning.

Both Gary and Fernando were just telling me,

like, that I don't belong here

and I should tap out, and it just really sucks.

It makes me feel like such an outcast.

I mean, it's just like a reminder of,

like just growing up

and being the only vegetarian in my family and at school.

And like everywhere.

It's an entire lifetime since I was 4 of people telling me

that I am so weak and I'm so skinny.

And that I'll never be strong.

I'm sitting here having a little stew

with Patrick and Ky here.

We may have a lot of resources out here and a lot of food,

but this competition is brutal.

I'm going to take some of the broad heads

that go with your bow, too, if that's all right.

So we're using our current energy

to keep pushing for more

and I think today is gonna be another good day out here.

Good luck to everybody.

Let's come home with a little bit extra food today, huh?

Hopefully.

Dani's still here.

Her competitive side can't resist just going for it.

Dani's proven me wrong before.

I'm like, man, I hope I'm wrong and you're right.

Looks like I found my spot.

Lots of tracks for sure.

I think I'll set up shop.

I'm not gonna sit here and act like some hotshot,

badass tough man

that just knew how to hunt always. I didn't.

I scavenged, I forged.

But I watched the hunters.

I asked questions, I learned.

They're too timid to come up to the water.

But they like to hang out

about 20 feet off of it and inspect.

So I want to shoot them in their zone, where they're inspecting

because they all tend to feel safe there.

Ten at a time.

I learned where my actual optimum shooting spot is,

and I got to clear it.

I want to kill to feed me

and take me to the finish line

with the energy I need to be the last one standing.

I took a few shots, missed

they were closer earlier today.

I had some branches in my way and I missed my opportunity.

But I can feel it.

It's coming

I'm heading out this morning

and I'm looking for a location with plenty of water.

I'm also looking for a location that I can put up a blind

near the water.

Wow, This is exactly what I've been looking for.

I've covered some distance this morning,

but I just found this incredible

watering hole here behind me.

The animal tracks are abundant,

I mean, we've got Rhino, we've got Kudu.

There's a lot of Impala.

There's even some warthog tracks.

I mean, this is as good of a location as I've found yet.

I'm feeling hopeful.

I traded half of my meat for a bow,

and I need to get myself some food.

And if I do, I'm not sharing it.

It's the fourth quarter, baby! Game on!

Ready to slay some fish?

-This looks promising. -Yeah.

Patrick and I and Fernando

are going to go off and try our luck at fishing.

We're in a new area, so I think there might be a lot of new, um,

new fishing opportunities out here.

Have you seen any evidence of fish?

No.

I haven't seen a single sign that fish exists in here.

There's just tadpoles coming up to the surface.

Unfortunately, the pond we found, has no fish.

But we're trying to make the most of it today.

There's certainly a huge abundance of these tadpoles.

I don't know if they'll be good bait or good for anything at all.

There are probably at least 1,000,000 African aquatic frogs.

I just want to put the net down

and see if the tadpoles come in and pull it up.

-They are. ...Like bait material, you think, Dan?

-Yeah. -Yeah.

-Great bait material. -Oh!

Without an apex predator in here,

like fish, for example,

the frog and insect populations

just go unchecked and can go out of control.

-You get it? -Big frog.

Big Frog.

It's just a big frog. They eat the small frogs.

Well, we can eat it.

So rather than coming home empty handed...

Whoo-hoo! Frog king!

...I think I might be able to come home

with an appetizer of frog legs.

I can only imagine what it's like for Dani out here,

-being a vegetarian. -Yeah.

She has to go all over, wandering, finding, searching.

Using even more energy.

And she's been doing that for a month,

and hasn't found... -Really anything enough. -...much.

She's a lot tougher than people will ever understand.

My body is lacking on protein source.

I'll try to navigate towards water,

and hope to find some weaver birds' nest again

or stumble across, like, a bird nesting area.

It's unreal how scorching hot the earth is.

I feel like I'm in a brain fog.

And weaver birds' nests.

Time to investigate.

This one looks pretty empty.

That's empty.

I can tell, that's a very old nest.

I checked a lot of nests, didn't find any eggs, unfortunately.

So I'm just heading back.

Dan, you want to show what we've got so far?

Over a dozen of these frogs, hauling them up.

These are all gutted. That's just meat we're looking at now.

-Hey, guys. -Hey!

-How you doing? -What's up?

How's foraging?

It was long, it was hot.

I didn't find too much.

Dani's trying her damnedest out here.

She's just, you know, giving her all.

I did check some...

a bunch of those, like, weaver nest trees, but...

-Yeah. -...they're all just vacant.

I don't think there's a lot more she can eat out here.

I'm worried.

It's hard for me to sit there and watch someone suffer and starve.

-What's up, guys? -Oh, hello!

-Hey! -Hey!

So no luck with the bow?

No. If I got the biggest kill of the day, I'm gonna...

-You got it! -You did.

I'm just kidding. It was a group effort. It was a group effort.

You want to do a little salt trade for some meat?

-Uh, maybe. -Okay.

I'm thinking I might not need meat

if I kill in the next, even three days.

But what I was thinking, I am willing to trade some salt,

but maybe for a piece of that paracord.

Mm, I don't know if I want to cut that.

-It's a tricky one. ...I'll have to think on this one.

Think on it. Hmm?

Hey, you need help dragging something back?

I wish.

Got about a pound and a half of frogs,

which is, uh, nothing to laugh at.

We're roasting them up now.

I had a little animal fat left over and saved

from, uh, that nyala kills.

Hey, Jeff and Gary. I picked you up some frogs.

Oh, thanks, bro.

Yeah. There's two for each of you.

Yeah. Thanks, Dan.

Yeah. The win of the day.

Ky, Patrick and Dan,

they are a three-person team, okay?

-Don't be mistaken. -They are their own team right now.

You can't trust them, man.

-Hey, Patrick. -Yep?

You need a little salt?

Oh, that would be amazing.

You're gonna trade Patrick some salt for some meat?

Mm.

Because of the hunting opportunities,

I'm not going to trade any salt now

-just because the meat might come, right? -Yeah.

And I don't want to run out of salt

and then have an abundance of meat and no salt.

Mm-hmm.

-It's kind of like a balance. -I know.

You don't really know. It's hard to predict.

It's Day 32.

It's still hot as hell.

As with any day out here on Naked And Afraid,

who knows what the day's gonna bring,

but everyone's going out, trying to get some more food on the table.

I feel like colds are...

Waking up today, I had severe pain

around my kidneys in my back area.

I can feel in my body that something's very wrong.

I've never had this kind of pain before.

How you feeling, Dani?

You're feeling cold?

-You feel cold? -Oh, my goodness.

-That's not a good sign. -Yeah.

This is a really heartbreaking morning at this point.

Dani is not doing well at all.

And she just looks awful. Like, she looks like death.

Mind if I call for the medic for you?

She's still cold. It's blistering hot already.

Can we get a medic?

Can we get a medic?

Yeah, we need a medic right now.

Dani has the chills.

She's cold, even though she's by a fire, covered with hides.

It really looks like she's falling off.

Hi, Dani.

She's not feeling great at all.

She's extremely cold right now.

Over a week, yeah, since she's had an egg.

Yeah.

Yeah, you've lost...

Yeah.

Dani's severe weight loss,

low blood pressure and low body temperature

are signs of protein energy malnutrition.

This deficiency can cause extreme weakness,

fainting, and organ failure.

The field medic must consult the lead medic

in order to decide the best course of action for Dani.

To see her in this state,

it just breaks my heart.

But it's kind of a reality check for all of us here.

Africa is relentless,

and staying fueled up is going to be critical.

So, we're gonna head out.

You're gonna be okay by yourself?

-Mm. -I'll stay with you.

If you could, Dan, because she's not going to ask.

-I'm going to. -Okay.

So you'll stay with her?

-Yeah. -All right.

Okay?

Dani rest up, and, uh...

talk to you later, okay?

It's a little hard to leave Dani...

I'm gonna head out and go hunting, you guys.

Yeah. Good luck.

Thank you.

...but she has, through this whole challenge, surprised me.

She just keeps persevering and surprising people, and...

Man, how tough is she?

-Thank you. -You got it?

Yeah.

I decided to stay back

and take care of Dani and make sure she's all right for the day.

I'm wrapping her up in two hides and she's freezing,

and she's in a lot of pain,

and I know she won't just voluntarily tap out.

The medic's back.

This morning, I got a call from one of our fellow medics

saying that Dani's had severe pain

and her blood pressure's lower than normal.

Dani, I think this is it.

Due to lack of nutrition,

as a vegetarian, she is at higher risk of organ failure out here.

-Dani? -Yeah.

Unfortunately, with the undiagnosed pain,

we can't take the risk, we can't take the chances,

so unfortunately, for your best interest,

we're going to have to medically tap you, okay?

-Okay. -All right. Are you ready?

Let's get you out of here.

Yeah.

You know, we have to take a little bit more precautions when it comes to Dani.

She already started experiencing lower back pain

and signs of kidney infection.

We got a blanket and everything waiting for you, okay?

Okay.

Her body is starting to actively shut down.

So the best thing we can do for her,

is to get her adequate hospital treatment,

and tap her.

-You got me? -I got you.

-Love you, Dani. -Love you, Dan.

See you on the other side, okay?

She's deteriorating fast, and she needed help.

That damn girl has given this challenge everything.

She gave it everything.

She nearly gave it her damn life.

I can do this. Scary.

It's hard to leave like this.

I tried so hard to...

to be here as a vegetarian and to be strong,

and Africa just kicked my butt.

I am so, so disappointed.

Everything we've been doing the past 32 days,

and she was doing it on no fuel.

I don't know how.

She killed it every step of the way, too.

The people out here are the toughest people I've ever met in my life.

And the six people I'm leaving right now,

you're so strong.

It's hard to, like, find the words

to describe how real and how brutal,

like, this challenge is.

The girl's tough as nails.

She would have dropped dead before she tapped out of this thing.

It's just admirable to some and maybe not to others,

but, damn...

I wanted everything to stay here, to be the last one...

the last one standing.

Africa has been so hard.

I'll be going home with my head high

and with a lot of respect for the challenge

and respect for this environment.

After 32 days, Dani is medically evacuated due to malnutrition,

leaving six survivalists battling to become the last one standing.

One step closer to the end.

And then there were six, I guess.

I don't like that I can't be there for Dani,

but I know I have to go.

There's no way I can miss out on this hunt.

On the previous Last One Standing, I almost won.

I'm so close.

But I didn't have enough food.

And now, I'm not gonna make the same mistake.

I'm in a pretty good position to hunt now.

It's time to hunt.

-Well, this is a pretty good spot. -Wow.

We found a different pond.

So we'll keep trying to fish, because that's what survival is about.

I can cast out my lines,

and then, retreat into the shade.

So I'm far enough away from the crocodiles

that inhabit this.

This is probably the safest way

to acquire fish from this waters.

You know, something that kind of bugged me yesterday,

was Gary was gonna give us some salt,

and I saw Jeff whispering in Gary's ear not to.

-Oh, I missed that whole thing. -Oh, yeah.

He's been doing a lot of little stuff like that.

Jeff's doing a little bit of backstabbing on me.

Bravo, Jeff. Like, I know this is how you play.

But I think it's time to turn the competition up.

The... Oh...

This is my eight catfish.

Wow, that's pretty awesome, man. You should be proud.

Just a newbie.

I need a big game animal,

because if people call me a legend of Naked And Afraid,

I want it to be complete

by adding "hunter" to my resume.

A forager, scavenger, tree climber, harvester of honey.

If I get a big game animal, I will have proven myself

to be the most well -rounded survivalist

to have ever hit this challenge.

I got it!

I got it.

Hopefully it's a kill shot.

I got to go check it out.

I got to go track it down.

She's gonna die out there somewhere,

and hopefully, I'll be carrying an animal back.

I got to go find that animal before something else does.

It darted off into here.

This is the first time in my life

that I've had to track down an animal I shot.

Oh... It spooks, it runs off, and I want to find her.

- Hey, Dan. I see Dan. -Home.

Hey, guys.

-How's Dani doing? -She left.

What?

-Like, she's gone gone? -Yeah. About three hours ago.

Was she taken out in an ambulance, on her own free will?

Ambulance. The pain kept getting worse.

She was so weak, she couldn't lift up a glass of water.

Holy crap.

It's been a rough day.

Well, is she getting medical care?

She is. It was really scary, actually.

Wow.

Just like that.

We're seeing survivalists being taken out by Africa in droves now.

Dani was the most mentally tough survivalist

I've ever actually survived with.

And it just makes me wonder, like, what will it take to be the last one standing?

-Hey, Jeff. -What's up?

How did you do?

It wasn't a whole lot better than yesterday.

Nothing today.

Unfortunately.

-Oh, hey, Ky, we got some bad news. ...Dani's gone.

Really rough day.

She just bloody fought to the end, didn't she,

-that girl? -Yeah, she did.

That changes everything.

I don't know why they're sad.

Yes, Dani went home, but another way to phrase that is,

we're all one step closer to being the last one standing.

I'm surprised that she made it as long as she did.

But now, I am the only female out here

and I am going to fight like hell.

-So then there were six, huh? -I know.

There are six of us.

-Did Dani leave, uh, items? -Yes.

I asked her, "What do you want me to do with your hides and all your stuff?"

And she told me to keep it.

What? No!

Like, Dani would not give all of her items to Dan.

If there was anybody out here that Dani would have given her items to,

it would have been Gary.

So, I'm thinking now,

that the only reason Dan stayed with Dani...

he was after her stuff.

Hmm.

Where's Gary?

-This is late, too. -Very late.

I've been tracking this animal for hours

in the hot African sun.

It's grueling.

Blood. Blood tracks.

It's starting to scab up.

Now it's walking and looking for

probably a shady place to lay down.

I just want to stay in the game,

and be able to fight to be the last one standing.

Gosh damn.

Oh...

Oh.

Look, it's definitely a blood trail.

I see it here, too.

There's the blood.

That animal is gonna give me so much in this world.

I'm hungry for this.

Oh, I see it.

There it is.

This animal gave its life for me.

I'm very grateful.

Thank you for giving your life.

I'm, uh, gutting the animal, so it won't spoil as quick.

Getting rid of any of the parts

that won't be eaten by us.

It's African tradition that your first kill,

you're supposed to eat a piece of the liver.

Not only are you beautiful, you're delicioso.

I was the first one to get a kill on this challenge with a bow,

and I took the head off the squirrel.

I was the first one to get an arrow through a ring to get a warthog.

And now, I got a big game kill.

The cherry on top would be

if I was actually the last one standing.

-What! -Yeah, baby!

You gotta be kidding me.

What is this?

-Yeah! -What in the world!

I fully planned on sharing any big kill I got.

And now I've got one.

Tonight, we eat.

Doesn't mean I'll share everything.

But I will feed them, have a feast together,

teach these kids a lesson.

Show them how it's supposed to look when you get a kill.

When the other camps got their nyalas,

Patrick starts freaking out.

Can I taste a little piece?

I mean, you don't have anything to trade?

Real... Really, dude?

This is a competition, not a soup kitchen.

It's disgusting.

I've never seen nothing like it.

I don't want to rub it in,

I don't wanna say, "Now, this is how you're supposed to act."

I just want to act it.

That's a real legend.

You know, I was mad at Gary at the time,

but I need to use a different tactic with Gary,

because Gary is a strong competitor out here.

Which means, I'm gonna take advantage of his vulnerabilities.

I got a couple of, uh, fish.

This is yours. This is your share.

-That's my share? -We went fishing today.

-We got this for you. -I got two fish.

-Good job, Gary. -Thank you, Patrick.

What is happening here?

I can spot the genuine congratulations,

and I can spot the fake one.

Gary, congratulations.

Let's take this hide off, because you're gonna overheat.

Yeah, I am.

Dani left as well.

About, uh, three-and-a-half hours ago.

She was taken out in an ambulance.

It's okay, man.

It's okay, it's okay.

Not her.

Hung on for 32 days, kicking our asses.

Yeah!

I couldn't help it. A kind of, just a wave of emotion hit me.

Because I watched her struggle.

I was side-by-side with her from day one.

She meant something.

You know? She meant something to me.

But this is a survival challenge,

and we have a bunch of work.

All right, well, I guess let's process this.

Let's process... Gary, you sit down and rest

-for some time. -Yeah, take a breather.

The alarm bells are going off in my head right now.

Like, "Oh!"

We'll help you process this.

-You don't mind doing that? -No, of course not.

Gary's team lost all of that great potential meat.

Yeah, and it's starting to smell.

This is the knife that Dani left, huh?

I mean, this is the first animal that

we have not had to skin with an arrowhead.

Jeff's processing the heck out of this.

Look, Jeff's got the heart the liver, the tenderloins,

the back strap.

Yeah, baby!

Oh, and, hey, this is what Jeff lives for.

All right.

-Dan... -Yep?

I was wondering if you'd want to have a conversation,

about Dani's stuff.

Before Dani left, when she was sick,

I asked her what she wanted me to do

with her hides and all of her stuff,

and she told me to keep them.

I fed her a lot.

And, like, she always told me she would give it to me,

and I don't care about all of it. Like...

But I'm wondering if

you could have the knife and I could have the hide?

How about the opposite?

That's the one thing I need, and I asked...

I asked for the hide specifically, and she gave it to me.

If Dani was in her right mind,

she'd want me to have all of it.

It's kind of like that family member that you're close with,

and you've done everything together in life.

And then, he gets sick,

and then, this long lost cousin

comes and starts hanging out by the bedside,

taking care of him,

and when you're not around, gets him to sign everything over to her.

And rips you off.

And gets everything in life

that that uncle would have wanted you to have.

I'll be honest, I prefer the hide,

but since you're willing to compromise, I'll totally do that.

-Thank you. -Yeah.

-Appreciate that. -Yeah.

It's a good evening in the Bo Mansion

as the sun starts to set over the horizon.

Gary has won the day with this amazing impala

that he has divvied up between the groups.

- Everybody's eating! Fernando's eating! -Yeah!

Jeff's eating!

Gary's eating!

We're all eating! Go... Patrick's eating!

There's impala for you, impala for you, impala for you.

I'm seeing some weird behavior.

There's members of the other "team,"

Ky, Patrick and Dan,

they're being, like, fake nice to Gary.

-Kinda scary. -The kill today?

Thank you.

-Whoo! -Eating in the neighborhood.

Are they playing us?

I don't know what's happening here,

but they're being fake nice.

And I can see it.

I can see right through their BS.

-Yeah. Congrats. -Yeah.

So, today, I have a lot on my mind.

Um, I know that Jeff has been doing some dirty tricks,

and he's manipulating Gary on the salt

to prevent us from acquiring any,

uh, and that has to stop.

So I'm gonna have to tell him.

Ky, Dan and I, we all overheard you

when Gary went to go give us salt,

and you came over and you told Gary not to give us salt,

because you wanted to trade for the P-cord.

I did want to trade for the P-cord,

but I never told Gary not to give you salt.

-That's not true. -I mean, we all... We did hear it.

Oh, that would be amazing.

I'm not going to trade any salt now...

just because the meat might come, right?

-Yeah. -Mm-hmm.

I never told Gary not to share salt.

You misheard.

-Okay. -Yeah.

Because, like, after that, it was like he decided not to.

Jeff is the one who's been trying to manipulate us all.

I think it's time for me to enter the octagon with Jeff,

which means do whatever tactic it takes to take the other out.

-I have to declare octagon. -Yeah?

You fight me, I'm gonna fight fiercer.

And that's what's coming for Jeff.

Okay.

For 33 days, I've been wanting war.

I've been wanting war more than any of you suckers.

-Good luck to you. -Thank you. You, too, brother.

-Thanks, buddy. -Yeah.

You just challenged the warrior

with the most days ever on Naked And Afraid,

to a 13-day countdown battle.

Be careful what you wish for.

I think we'll have to be pretty croc smart here.

Better keep eyes up.

Now that I've entered the arena with Jeff,

Dan, Ky and I are working together.

The more strength we're gonna have as a group,

the more power we control.

And the three of us are going to try to make it to the final three.

Yeah. I think this is looking pretty good.

So the first one to catch a fish

doesn't have to do the dishes.

I brought a firestarter, too, in case you want to cook it here,

The group dynamic has taken a turn for the odd.

It kind of just has evolved into one three-person team

against everyone else?

What it appears to me, is that Ky

teamed up with Patrick and Dan.

-It's a good strategy. -It makes sense.

A trio makes a lot of sense.

But I'm not part of a team.

I'm just, like, doing my thing.

And I truly am on the outside of all this.

I have no allies, I have no enemies.

And it's getting me a little bit more cautious.

I don't want to misstep at this point in the competition.

Whoa!

-What? ...Crocodile just caught something!

-It did? ...Oh, it just came full out of the water.

-Holy... -I just lost my bait.

Can you hold me for a second, please?

Yes.

Thank you.

-Got it? -Yes. Thank you.

That's how much trust I have in you.

I wouldn't let hardly anyone do that for me.

Oh.

I'm independent out here, but at this stage,

I've got Dan and Patrick as teammates.

I think there's an advantage to having done a Last One Standing before.

So, obviously, Dan, he made it all the way to the end,

and I'm hoping that I'll be able to use that to my advantage.

You know, one of these days they're going to say three, two, one, go.

And one of us is going home.

If I go before you two, you two get my old...

What do you say to Jeff, exactly?

-Yeah. ...I told Jeff that it's time

to enter the Octagon together.

-Yeah. -Yeah.

I wonder what they're scheming about right now.

That meat looks good, Gary.

-Thanks for cooking that. -Yeah.

So I had a conversation this morning with Patrick.

I think they're definitely planning to be the final three,

and they're planning to take action against... against us.

I do believe that they're against me.

Mm-hmm.

I know I've had a target on my back since Day One.

Everyone wants to be the Jeff Slayer.

I say game on.

'Cause you and I, Gary,

we're going to Day 45, my friend.

We're going to 45.

Let's hope so.

It's so cold wind. I can feel it now.

We don't know what tomorrow has in store for us.

We're getting closer and closer to Day 45.

It's gonna be intense.

Mm. Dan, it's cold.

You know, it's not an usual morning weather

for this location, I have to say.

After days of scorching heat,

a sub-Saharan windstorm has come in from the east.

With wind gusts up to 65 mph.

And has already dropped the temperature 30 degrees.

Looks like weather could be moving in.

I gotta get some firewood.

If we get firewood, the rain won't come.

-If we don't get firewood... -Let's get the firewood then.

That is how it works.

Yeah, exactly right.

-Hey, guys. -Yeah.

We have scrolls.

-Six scrolls -I got him.

Six scrolls.

Six survivalists.

Wow.

Well, let's find out.

Check it out.

See what we have in store for us now.

Thank you.

Today, you must craft a digging tool.

The ability to dig can help survivalists in a variety of ways.

I'm gonna dig a hole and then cover it

with sticks and beeps of an iguana or something.

Or a snake goes into it and maybe I could catch him.

We're gonna dig a big-ass hole like a bunker pattern,

somewhat after Anasazi shelters that were similar.

It's pretty cool, man.

The main function of a gypsy whale is it creates a hole

next to the water source.

The water seeps through and hopefully it filters the water.

For their next challenge,

the survivalists' digging ability will be tested.

They can either bushcraft primitive tools,

or use items they've earned in the competition.

Digging, huh?

Tomorrow, pack up all your things

and head to the "X" to start digging.

Migration tomorrow.

Wow, we're leaving this camp?

On Day 35, the survivalists will migrate

with all their cached items and possessions for two miles to Zone Four

where herds of impala graze near a large watering hole

and packs of predatory hyenas stalk the night

with bites strong enough to crush the bones of their prey.

-All right. -Wow.

What are we digging for?

A digging tool.

We have to craft a digging tool.

But here's the thing.

I actually won a digging tool four days ago...

...the shovel in the cache hunt.

and I happen to also have a polaski.

This is an awesome tool. We're happy to have it.

And so I actually own two digging tools.

It's a crazy turn of events.

I felt like I was, kind of, like, in a weaker position amongst the survivalists,

and now I feel like I'm kind of back in the mix.

For the first time in probably the whole challenge,

-I have a position of power. -You do.

-If there's digging gonna happen tomorrow... You do.

...and I have digging tools.

I don't know what the challenge is going to be tomorrow.

But I would not be surprised if there was a possible elimination.

So I'm thinking if I can find something worthy of trade,

that might give me an advantage in tomorrow's competition.

And I happen to have a resource

that I haven't been trading too much.

And that's... that giant chunk of salt.

In addition, I have a quiver full of meat.

If you would be willing, I would trade you

half of my salt, half of my meat

for the shovel or the polaski. Your choice.

And you're offering me half your salt and half your meat?

Yeah, both of them.

That's risky.

I wouldn't share with Jeff.

That seems like a dangerous trade.

If you would be willing, I would trade you

half of my salt, half of my meat

for the shovel or the polaski. Your choice.

Today we have to build shovels.

And I know that Fernando has the only two items

in this camp that can be used for digging.

Yeah, that's... That's a no brainer. I have two tools.

Which one of you are you gonna trade 'em?

Uh, I don't know.

-Is it my choice? -It's your choice.

I'll think about it. We'll talk.

-Yeah, we'll talk. -Okay.

-Deal confirmed. -Wow. Things are happening.

Fast and furious out here.

- Yeah, they are. Excellent. -Whoo!

That was a risky move on Jeff's part.

He's down south, he's down food.

And this might only be a very small part of a larger competition.

It could come back to bite him.

Well, guys, I guess it's time to start crafting.

Jeff is making impulsive trades to try to make himself better.

His bushcraft skills aren't very good.

So it feels desperate.

-All right. -Well, good luck, everyone.

-Yeah. Resource time. -Yep.

-It's about that time. -All right.

Holy!

I thought I made the deal of the century with Gary.

The cast net and half of my entire food cache for one of those bows.

That salt is way more than one man can eat.

I'm in.

I just topped that now with Fernando.

My thought is,

if I don't make it through tomorrow's challenge...

-What's the point keeping your meat? -What's the point

-in keeping my meat or salt? -No, I get it. No.

I think this is... this is good for both of us.

It is. It's like being 90 years old.

and you have millions of dollars in the bank

and... and no one to give it to.

You better spend.

Oh, my God. You have so much salt.

So you want to split this up?

-Perfect. -50-50?

All right.

Its currency, you know?

Our items are currency out here.

Jeff just makes really good deals that you can't turn down.

Ky, Patrick and Dan seem against Jeff.

But I'm a grown man.

I can assess someone's personality,

I can assess what they're doing.

I'm not gonna be easily manipulated.

-Yeah. All right. -You can pick your pile.

-I'm gonna go here. -Okay.

This can totally be a game changer for me to be the last one standing.

So what are your thoughts? Turn on which item?

You're going to trade and which one you're going to keep?

I'll keep the shovel and give you the polaski.

Okay, which actually is a very versatile tool.

It is. Excellent.

-Thank you, bud. -Sure.

The polaski has the advantage of leverage, force and power.

And if we're digging through ground

that has rocks and roots and that kind of thing,

the polaski will be the best tool.

Well, great trade, Fernando. Great trade.

You can't dig a hole with a polaski very good.

That's good for breaking ground on the top.

How you gonna swing so deep?

Yeah. You can't get it down.

And the thing is, is like the scapulas are basically shovels.

-They are. -All right.

I'm gonna go look for a scapula.

What are you guys doing?

-Go look for materials. ...Oh, and you're leaving as one.

- Okay. -Yeah. We work together as a team.

Always.

Let's walk and talk, kids.

Right.

The only other tools I can think of,

you know, like, the aboriginals had their digging sticks,

that's really all they had.

I'm thinking back to a lot of indigenous cultures,

and, you know, they're not like lashing together

whole shovels and things like that.

They're just using basic dig bars.

Yeah, this is it.

Basically, I just need something with some weight on it

that I can jam into the ground.

Simple in their design,

primitive shovels such as dig bars,

scapulas and baobab fruit

with a hard outer shell similar to a coconut

offer hand protection while providing a sharp edge

for breaking through firm ground.

I can smell something.

Here's some white through here.

Oh, here's some bones.

You got one scampi plate.

So for me, I'm thinking we've got scapulas.

We've got digging sticks.

I might get a thin, sharpened rock

in case I need to break up hard ground

that I can, like, dig like this.

It's not a bad idea to bring a couple of halves of baobab fruits.

The larger ones. They fit right in your hands.

-You know what I mean? -Yeah.

-One in each hand. -Yeah.

-Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. -Yeah.

I'm gonna have to dig with a bunch of sticks and.

Fernando found a shovel.

He's got an advantage, big time.

I'm not in the best position.

Whatever.

I got this. I could dig.

Very hard wood is primarily what I'm looking for.

Something scoopy.

Like a hard bark for the shovel.

And a finer pick for more detailed work

in case I got to get around little stones or something.

For now that's what I got.

Digging tools.

All right. This is what I was looking for.

An animal skeleton scattered about.

I know that my polaski is the best tool

for the digging challenge tomorrow.

I know this.

But I also know everyone else

is going to be bringing with the bones.

So while I don't really need them, because I have the polaski,

every piece of material I collect is one less bit of material

that they have available out here.

I just smelled something again.

Here it is.

Yum.

Dear God, the smell.

This stuff is usable for us?

Where the are the scapulas?

It should be here.

Should be.

No. Well, this one doesn't have any.

Odd.

-Hello, hello. -Hello, hello, hello.

It could be a chilly night tonight, Fernando.

I know.

Right. I'm nervous.

I'm hoping it's not elimination challenge.

Yeah, if you don't mind emptying those.

I think this would be good.

I'm strong, but I am not as strong as the five remaining competitors.

So what I don't have in strength and endurance

I need to make up for in my skill set.

I have some sharpened sticks which are really good for digging

and some baobab nut, and hopefully I'll still be here

at the end of the day using those tools.

Clearly, I already have a digging tool for tomorrow's challenge.

But the polaski,

It doesn't scoop a lot of cubic inches of dirt out of the hole.

What it does is it digs up the dirt really well.

So I'm also creating a scooper.

This will work for me.

I'm pretty confident in my shovel.

I'm good with digging and good with bushcraft.

We found items that were gonna work really well.

Right now, it's just really just straight up a battle,

because if this is an elimination competition,

best case scenario, Jeff would get eliminated.

Or maybe Gary.

I feel like those are two of the biggest threats to me.

How you doing, Gary?

Good.

I'm just focused on eating my meat for the challenge coming up.

I'm confident because I have everything.

Hey, I gotta hurry up and actually cut this off.

It's starting to have a little smell.

Oh, I can smell that actually.

It looks sketchy.

And I'm thinking, Oh, God, here we go again.

You know, here we go again.

Okay.

Some of this is good. Some of this is not.

I know with my stomach, I'll be fine.

Gary Golding has a powerhouse of a gut by now.

Now, I'm just boiling any of my meat

that was left on the carcass to get it sterile.

I don't like to see someone like that destroy themselves,

but I'm kind of to the point now where,

if it happens, yeah, I do also benefit, right?

That's looking a little dark.

Holy to molly.

Oh, you can smell that right in the wind.

We're about to get smashed.

There is something big coming in right now.

The wind is whipping and circling in literally every direction.

Oh, !

I got my hide over my feet, my rib cage,

just doing everything to protect my knee.

The winds are howling, probably 40, 50 mi an hour.

We have got a ton of firewood

knocing down the hatches, preparing for a long night.

Whoa!

I think I see the rain coming.

Guys, the storm's coming in.

This is crazy!

Hopefully, it's just a flash in and flash out.

God!

Whew!

Yeah!

Oh!

-Whoa! -Whoa.

This is worse than raining.

It's just like the fire from hell.

Oh, God! Why?

This is what I live for!

For this competiton,

the PSR or primitive survival rating

weighs an individual's survival skills

and items collected to determine the likelihood

of becoming the last one standing.

With less than two weeks left in the competition...

-Wow. -...Patrick secured two catfish...

Just a newbie.

...and unleashed a more aggressive strategy

for dealing with this competition...

I have to declare Octagon.

You fight me, I'm gonna fight fiercer.

And that's what's coming for Jeff.

...raising his PSR from 8.6 to 8.7.

I got it.

After taking down his first big game animal...

Oh, baby!

...Gary shared the win with the other survivalists.

Are you scary?

This is crazy!

But without a hide for protection...

I was doing everything to protect my meat.

...a powerful storm puts his health at risk.

Even so, his PSR jumps from 9.0 to 9.2.

I don't want to fall behind with my tools.

Fernando used situational awareness to earn a powerful survival tool

and his strategic trade for salt and protein.

It puts him in a strong position

going forward in the competition.

This can totally be a game changer for me to be the last one standing.

His PSR rises from 8.5 to 8.6.

Whoa!

To see all of the survivalist PSR rankings,

head over to Facebook.com/NakedandAfraid.

Whoa!

Right now the storm is crazy.

I still have to cover myself up with this hide

just so I don't get scalded like this hot coal.

We got 60 mi per hour...

We just survived, I would say top-five most insane nights

of my Naked and Afraid career.

That would have tapped one or more people for sure.

You just can't suffer for that many hours in a row

without just wanting to leave.

We all go into, like, this hyper mental focus

hibernation and we've all been there on Naked and Afraid.

And it's part of this survival, like, you just go, okay,

this is going to be really, really, really uncomfortable

for a long time, and you just go somewhere else in your mind.

I have to go to the bathroom.

Are you all right, Gary?

I don't know what happened, but Gary's meat rotted just like the warthog.

Then he's having diarrhea.

He's sick. He's in rough shape.

I'm actually feeling terrible.

I keep having to go to the bathroom, and it's killing me.

Gary has literally been dying all night long.

You all right, Gary?

I could use some sleep.

Jesus...

This is going to be a tough one. I'm doing this.

I'm fighting through this one.

You'll be all right, buddy. You'll be all right.

Sounds like today a long hike followed by elimination challenge.

This shovel isn't gonna give me a sure thing by any means.

And the idea that I could be going home today is insane.

This axe, I hope, will prove invaluable today.

I'm hoping that this is the hardest ground I've ever seen.

Because if that's the case, then I would eliminate one of my competitors today.

Gary, that's the most savage-looking backpack I've ever seen.

-How you doing, Gary? -That's my rib case.

-How's everybody looking? -I'm ready to go.

Sounds good. Migration Day.

Challenge Day.

Goodbye, camp.

Hey! Ready, everybody?

Load 'em up!

Wow, this is a lot of weight.

Let's do this.

We are exhausted.

And we're supposed to do all this

while preparing for a challenge that could mean elimination.

This is something that most survivalists,

most people could never handle

because it is too hard to do for most people.

Good thing, though, I'm not most people.

Well, here's the spot I'm thinking.

Got a map, huh?

Okay, okay.

-So we arrive at the "X" and there's a new scroll. -I'm nervous.

There's been very few challenges

that didn't end in that elimination.

I gotta do this challenge, push through it,

just feeling like crap.

Maybe I'll be digging my grave.

It doesn't look like this is our final destination for today.

It doesn't.

I'm worried.

I'm here with five men

whose muscles are three times bigger than mine.

And I'm not sure how I'm going to outwit anybody in digging a well.

The tools we can craft out here are fairly primitive.

Everyone seems to have sticks, baobab nuts and scapulas.

But what's gonna go faster than a polaski or a spade?

Hmm.

All right, here we go.

Today you will boil water without your pot.

The first to finish will earn control.

-Control? -Oh, my gosh.

Control?

Oh, my God.

This is crazy!

Wow!

The winner in this challenge, gets to control the challenge going forward.

And that sounds like a whole lot of fun to me.

I'm going for the win.

-This is interesting. -This is interesting.

Yeah, but I don't understand.

Just when you think you figured it out, there's always a curveball here.

-Oh, God. -Ah.
