The world you know is not what it seems.
Buried deep inside one of America's leading universities
lies one of the largest collections
of paranormal research in the world.
- This thing is something-- - This is the spirit--
I saw little objects hovering.
From telepathy, possession, the abduction experience.
They said, we're coming.
Collected over decades,
much of it has never been seen by the public.
This is truly a halfway house
between your world and ours.
I'm scouring the globe looking for new people
with extraordinary stories.
I realized my dream is about to happen.
Their accounts will be preserved
alongside some of the most remarkable cases in history.
She's more than telepathic.
I felt like I was being watched.
I saw really horrific things.
There's no way for me to put into words
what I went through.
My name is Professor Jeff Kripal,
and I've spent my working life investigating
what I call the impossible, which are basically
anomalous phenomena that aren't supposed to happen,
but do all the time.
For 12 years, I've been the custodian of these archives,
where the world's most fantastic stories
are preserved, studied, and taken seriously.
The idea that people can communicate telepathically
has fired our collective imaginations for millennia.
What we mean by telepathy is some kind of
mind to mind connection that doesn't rely on the senses.
We have a great deal of evidence of telepathy
in the archives, even as far back as the '50s and the '60s.
But now we're exploring the next frontier of this ability,
non-speaking autistic teenagers
who are communicating telepathically.
Can these teens connect with consciousness in a way
that the speaking world cannot?
Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell
is a leading researcher in this area.
I've asked her to come and help me
investigate this phenomenon.
I'm a neuropsychiatrist with a specialty in autism.
I was on faculty at Harvard,
and I've been studying this phenomenon
for about a decade and a half.
I believe these autistic children,
they're reading our consciousness field.
But then what is consciousness?
Do I continue to exist after this body stops functioning?
I've invited two families into the archive
to share extraordinary stories of their telepathic children
and their abilities unfolding in their homes.
We are thrilled to be able to share
our story with the archives.
Their testimony will be recorded and added
to the archive, where future researchers
can continue the investigation.
My name is Corinne Allen.
My daughter Elsa is non-speaking autistic,
but she has many abilities--
telepathy, precognition,
astral projection.
Elsa was completely misunderstood,
even by us.
This is really happening. This is our lives.
And I don't care if people believe us or not
because I know what my life is, and we live it.
It took us a long time to understand
that Elsa had these abilities.
Elsa was born October 30, 2006.
I didn't really notice anything that was off.
Looking back, there were a lot of signs.
When I held her, she kind of would just
look out all the time, and she didn't answer to her name.
When Elsa was two, we went to preschool,
and the teacher there was the one that said
that I think you need to get her evaluated.
There's no biomarkers for autism.
It's just behavior-based questions to figure it out.
We failed that test.
That's when I thought, okay, well, this could be true.
She could be autistic, and...
It was crushing.
You look in the cameras right there.
I cried for one night.
And that next morning, I said, somebody has the answer here,
and I'm going to work until we figure it out.
What I remember the most is Corinne really
diving in headfirst into how and why.
We tried all sorts of therapies.
Let her go. Let her do it.
I broke down a little bit, you know?
I didn't know what it meant for the future.
Autism is very challenging.
She was up every night, all night,
screaming and beating herself up.
I nearly got to the end of my rope.
She was a prisoner in her mind.
Can you blow a kiss, Elsa?
One day, the lady that runs the special needs ministry
at the church we go to called me.
She said, I'm training
for this new form of communication called spelling,
and I want to try it with Elsa.
And I said, why not?
They would get a big stencil board
with these letters cut out,
and they start by just poking that.
Elsa's ability to communicate
gradually got better.
Tears every day, like, oh, my gosh,
this is such a miracle.
They start asking her what they call open questions.
Elsa, how do you feel about this,
or what do you think about this?
I could get to know my daughter.
I didn't know who she was.
I didn't know what she thought about me, her life,
the world around her.
I asked her practitioner,
ask Elsa what she thinks of the world.
And she spells, I know what people think.
And I said, what do you mean? Think about what?
She said, I know what their thoughts are.
And I thought, what?
I don't understand.
Am I here? Is this a dream?
Am I in a coma? This is all so unreal.
On one occasion, we were at this little restaurant,
and there's a gal working there.
Out of the blue,
Elsa says, you were a great runner.
And I'm completely confused.
So she says, I was the captain of my track and field team.
I ran, ran, ran all through high school.
She runs into the back kitchen, brings out her friend.
This is my friend. Tell me something about her.
She says, well, you're a writer.
She says, I write poetry.
How does she know that?
I went back and kind of clicked all these things
I had logically explained away.
I couldn't stop thinking there could
be a connection between her autism
and this telepathic ability.
Autism is a sensory processing and communication disorder.
It's not too far of a stretch to understand that
extrasensory perception, ESP,
is an adaptation for them to survive.
I think we're all born with it, and as we develop language,
it goes away.
But since she never developed language, speaking language,
she's always retained her telepathic abilities.
I thought I could probably prove it to myself.
I would generate a random word from a database
of approximately 30,000 words.
I look at it, make sure Elsa can't see anything.
Here's my phone, and this is the random word generator.
Pick whatever word randomly comes out.
Ooh, that's a good word.
All right, you got this.
What's the word, sweetie?
Lift your arm. Here we go.
You got this.
P-L--get it?
A-N-K
T-O-N.
Done. Plankton.
Nice job.
This is very typical of what I see that these children do.
It's almost like the same radio station.
It's like you tune in, and you're having
a shared experience there.
We have a great deal of evidence of telepathy
in the archives.
I would say that telepathy is the most common way
that entities communicate with human beings.
But here, we are witnessing human to human telepathy
between a mother and child.
That takes the collection into totally new territory.
To see all these things happening is shocking.
But when I started learning how she could access
another world where she had this whole other life,
it was overwhelming.
Corinne has told us that Elsa can read her mind
and spell out what she's thinking.
It blew me away.
It hit me like a lightning bolt.
Her ability is already remarkable,
but I sense there's more to tell.
Elsa was 15.
She was having a difficult time.
I remember so many nights that were really tough.
One day, we were at a lesson in the ministry
with her practitioner and our pastor,
and I said, what's something that helps you?
So she says, my yellow room.
And I asked her, where is this yellow room?
And she said, the hill.
What, the capital?
I didn't know what that was.
And then Pastor Joe starts asking her about the hill.
He said, well, they're all talking about it
in these special needs classes.
And I went, what?
It's a real place, and they're all talking about it?
All the other spellers, independently of each other,
were saying the exact same thing.
The hill is in another dimension.
They call it the realms.
So she might be next to me here in the room,
but her mind is with her friends on the hill.
It's a hill with grass,
tons of flowers,
and colors that you don't see here on Earth.
And she said the flowers emit light and sound.
And it's bright, but it's not the sun.
It's the light of creation.
The hill is not a physical place.
It's an out-of-body experience.
It's a place that they love going to.
And when they're there, they're in community
with other children who are also non-speakers
who are visiting the hill.
From what I understand, it's a place you can't crave power,
and she said, we go there to help each other in the world.
How? I don't know.
So I got to know Corrine through this process
when she realized that Elsa was not the only one
talking about the hill.
I've heard from multiple hundreds of families,
and the stories are the same.
They describe the hill as a beautiful place
with perfect peace.
Communication is just done in thought.
You know what people are thinking.
They know what you're thinking.
I think a lot of these autistic children,
because they have this motor planning issue,
I don't think they're fully entrenched in their bodies.
I think Elsa can travel outside her body.
Is it like a single point that they're all coming to?
The source, where we all come from,
and then reconnect to it
when we die.
Perhaps it's the height of consciousness.
A year after Elsa first told me about the hill,
we were invited to meet some other non-speakers
from all around the country.
I had never met these people before,
and I hear her giggling way over here.
And her and a boy,
they're practically making out.
And I thought, what's going on there?
She told me his name is Zahari
and that they met on the hill
months before we met him in person.
This is a real boyfriend in a relationship in real life.
He's blind.
He doesn't speak,
but they talk to each other in the realm all the time.
Zahari lives in Alabama,
so that's a couple thousand miles apart.
His mother texted me and says,
Zahari says that they go to Elsa's yellow room
if it gets too crowded on the hill.
And I said, oh, expletive.
How does he know about that?
I had never said anything to Zahari's mom
about Elsa's yellow room.
There's no way that they heard or knew about that.
The first time Elsa and Zahari met
was in the realms, which is on the hill.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Did you hang out most of the time in the yellow room?
Yeah?
With who? - Elsa.
Elsa? Yep.
I honestly never thought that
my boy would ever fall in love.
And now he's in love.
He's got a girlfriend and all because
of these meetings on the hill.
They physically met in April.
By October, she's saying we're going to--
we want to get married.
I'm like, whoa, this is enough for me
to take that you have a boyfriend.
I am so happy that she's able to experience love.
That's one of the things I was worried about.
But she's not allowed to get married yet.
She's too young.
Elsa met her boyfriend on what she calls the hill.
That feeds into this idea that telepathy itself
has something to do with emotional entanglement
or what we call love.
I was just learning to wrap my mind around
the fact that not only is Elsa intelligent,
but she has all these gifts like connecting with
people's minds and places that I couldn't see or be.
Then I began to wonder if there was more
to Elsa's telepathic abilities than I'd realized
because I predicted a moment
that changed my family forever.
As Elsa revealed the extent of her telepathic ability,
Corinne started to question her own experiences.
Was something happening to her mind too?
First, I started to hear this car accident.
First time I heard it, I thought, oh, wow.
And I'm listening and waiting for the police sirens
and the ambulance.
Nobody's coming.
Well, that's weird.
First I heard it, and then I saw it.
Every day, several times a day.
And it got louder and louder.
That's why I thought there was something
very physically wrong with me.
So I sit down with my mom and my aunt,
and I tell them, I need to go see a neurologist.
A week later, I get a call.
It's a hospital.
We've got your aunt.
She was in a catastrophic car accident.
I said, where's my mom?
My mom's in bad shape.
She's being intubated.
She's broken her femur.
She was internally bleeding.
She was on the passenger side.
That's what I was seeing--the impact.
Boom!
And that's when the vision would stop.
I didn't know if they were going to survive at first.
But somehow, miraculously, they did.
To this day, I'm not sure how.
I started to dive into all these questions.
Wow!
You know, how did I see the future?
Could I have made a difference?
The next summer, I started getting
more and more premonitions.
Every time, it's been a second, a moment.
It's vivid.
Somebody was trying to warn me very hard.
So I realized this could be Elsa seeing the future,
showing me those things.
She was planting those in my mind
so that I could learn to change what happened
and save people, save my family.
Like, she's the wizard, and I'm the student.
From what I've seen,
it really looks like Elsa's ability
goes way beyond telepathy
into what people call precognition,
the ability to see the future.
And this suggests that her consciousness
can reach beyond the present moment.
Points of concern where somebody could be harmed
sends a stronger signal through the field.
It's really quite extraordinary.
In the archive, some cases begin with
one extraordinary ability.
But when other abilities appear,
it points to a question being asked often.
How are these all connected and to what end?
But I didn't understand the darkest part of her gift.
She started telling me that when there's a missing person,
she gets a message from somewhere.
She feels responsible.
So it helps her to work with somebody in authority
to do something about it.
Authorities and community members are continuing
to search for a nonverbal 12-year-old boy
one week after he went missing.
It came to our attention there was this boy missing
in New Orleans.
So we formed a little group.
I think the reason that
the children really wanted to help this case is
the little boy that was lost
was autistic, non-speaking.
This is a guy from our community.
We need to help.
I knew what Elsa could do,
but this was the first time her abilities were tested
in real time to help find the missing boy.
We're trying to figure out more information from NOPD.
Now, the child's family still believes that he is alive.
By now, I knew Elsa could connect telepathically
with people she never met.
But then she started seeing people
who were missing or in danger.
From Michoud with the latest on the search
to find Bryan Vasquez.
Winston?
Now, the NOPD did send us a statement
saying that they are working with other agencies
around the clock.
Now we need to move.
Now we need to look by the trucks and by the storage
and by the tire shops.
This is an open and active investigation
to get Bryan home.
In my Facebook,
I get this message that there was a group of these kids
that had this ability to communicate,
you know, giving us clues.
We were going through this search live
with the rescue workers on their phone.
I saw with my own eyes as I get a Zoom call
with the mom--
landmarks, but not landmarks
that you can look on Google Maps.
They looked into everything.
They said they would walk across the street
or down the road and find these landmarks.
I saw that over and over again.
Elsa said he's 5 feet from the water.
I thought to myself at the time,
he's probably drowned in the water.
The NOPD says a body believed to be
12-year-old Bryan Vasquez was pulled from a lagoon
in his New Orleans East neighborhood this morning.
We found him exactly where they said.
I am so grateful to Elsa, to Zahari,
to the group of kids that just gave me hope
and led us to finding Bryan Vasquez
and continue to let us know that he's at peace.
I believe that people need to know that these kids exist,
that this is possible.
She was communicating with this boy after he died.
She knows specific information that she couldn't have known.
So that had just confirmed it for me,
that even if you're deceased,
you still have a consciousness
that exists in some form.
That's one way to show that consciousness
comes from outside the brain.
So I'm a lot more optimistic about facing death.
I'm not afraid of it anymore.
Organizations are using this.
It tells us that this is real, that this is accurate,
and that this is a useful source of information.
It might not be infallible, but nothing is.
Once I started learning about telepathy and precognition
and seeing into people's lives,
I thought, does this world really exist?
Elsa says, no.
The physical world is an illusion.
The real world is actually consciousness.
Within that place of higher consciousness,
my non-speaking daughter is no longer silent.
She has a very powerful voice,
and I have learned how to listen to her.
I definitely think consciousness exists
after we shed this physical body.
Elsa's ability is staggering.
We don't have anything like her story in our archives.
It's a powerful case of telepathy and autism.
But also, it's this idea called the Puharich theory,
which was that consciousness exists
outside the body and outside the brain.
Searching through our telepathy collection,
it's clear that Andrija Puharich
was a key player in establishing serious research
into telepathy.
He was a doctor and was trained
at Northwestern University in Chicago
and wrote actually a book called "Beyond Telepathy."
Now we've gained access to rare footage and photographs
from inside Puharich's personal archive,
and what's striking is how much his work
over 50 years ago connects to the questions
Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell is asking today.
We all have a firsthand experience of consciousness.
Well, it gives us that idea that there's somebody here,
that--that I am me.
He brought together children
with extraordinary psychic gifts--
telepathy, metal bending,
and many other abilities.
And he wanted to understand whether they're able
to access consciousness that most of us adults
have shut down and think of as impossible.
I want to take that question further.
If these children can access those abilities,
could they be helping the rest of us
open them back up?
Next to share their experience of telepathy
with the archive is a 15-year-old autistic girl
and her mother.
I feel honored to be here to tell the story of my daughter.
It is her mission to share this gift to the world.
My name is Dalia Burgoin,
and I'm here to tell you about my daughter, Liduvina.
Lidu is extremely telepathic.
She's able to see through my own eyes,
but she's also able to see into memories
that I'm not consciously thinking of.
Her message to the world is that we all are telepathic.
She has access to everything,
and I think it's scary for a lot of people.
Dalia has come to the archive
to share the story of her autistic daughter, Lidu,
and the telepathic power that she has revealed.
We've never wanted the spotlight.
Our life has been incredible
and very difficult at the same time.
My husband Manny and I live in Kaysville, Utah.
I have four children.
Lidu's my oldest. She's 15.
When she was born, she was 2 pounds and 6 ounces.
Sorry, I am--
when I think of Lidu's birth, it's very traumatic.
Once she got home, she was very healthy.
It was around age two that I started noticing
the differences between her and other children.
Lidu, come on.
Num, num, num, num.
She was still kind of, like, really bad at speaking.
And so I was like, I don't think that's right.
And then I just kept asking Dalia, like,
let's get her checked out to see, like,
at least see what's going on.
And so I took her to the doctor.
They told me she had level three autism.
I went into this huge sadness.
And, um, I had to process a lot.
I cried like every night, blaming myself.
Those first years were hard.
She was also diagnosed with an intellectual delay.
So they were saying she wasn't able to understand.
But I really wanted Lidu to communicate better
because I felt so strongly she could.
She loved artwork,
and she seemed to make art out of things around the house.
She would draw faces.
I realized the doctors were wrong.
Lidu was in there,
and she was using her artwork to communicate with me.
I remember when Lidu was six or seven.
I was visiting my in-laws in Southern California.
She was in another room with her grandparents.
Suddenly,
the image of a penny flashed straight into my mind,
and I immediately knew I needed to go save Lidu.
Something told me that she was choking.
And so I run over there,
and her grandparents were struggling.
Then I did a Heimlich on her.
And then finally, she threw up a penny.
And it was the same penny I had seen in my mind.
At the time, I didn't know what any of that was
and why that was happening.
I just know it was a very strange instance
where I knew exactly what was going on.
But I come to realize that, no, that was Lidu doing telepathy,
and her ability to do that saved her life.
There's something called crisis telepathy.
It's something that we can tune into
as a result of the fact that
we're so connected to that individual.
It's like it bends space-time
and enables us to access information
that we think we shouldn't be able to access.
The whole thing started to make me question, um, her,
and--and what she was able to do.
I remember at that point,
I said, Lidu, can you, like, read my mind?
And then she just kind of smiles.
She hadn't told me directly, hey, I'm telepathic.
But I'm starting to see this evidence
that's only leading to telepathy.
Lidu seemed to be able to read my mind,
but she was also able to remember things
that I couldn't remember.
So every night, we sat with the letter board practicing
until she could finally tell me what was really happening.
And she says, mom, this will be so much easier
if you just can do telepathy.
At first, I thought, okay, that's not possible.
But it turns out she was very serious.
This is the demonstration we've all been waiting for--
Dalia and Lidu here with us
that are going to do some incredible things.
This is a blindfold mask.
Do you want to try it on and explain what you can see?
Well, it's literally foam pushed against my head.
You cannot even-- it's almost unnerving.
You cannot see. It's total darkness.
Okay.
Lidu is going to go ahead and wear the blindfold now.
Okay, so let's just pick a random color.
Somebody just give me a random color.
Which color do you want? Just pick one.
Okay, put that on the top.
Okay, now you pick a random image.
So this is the image that she selected
with this color, so...
So Lidu is going to be reading my mind.
All right. You ready, sweetie?
So he just held a color up.
Can you spell the color?
First letter is
B-L-U-E.
So she got the color.
So now--
All right, and then he held this shape up.
Sweetie, can you tell me what shape it was?
C-I-R-C-L-E.
Lidu.
Fabulous.
I said, how are you doing this?
And this was incredible to me.
She said, my whole life, I had been going to a place.
And I had mentors, and they were teaching me.
And Lidu spells out-- this is her exact phrase.
She says,
the hill is a very real place that I often frequent.
I felt like every other week,
she was revealing more superpowers,
and her psychic abilities were just blowing us away.
It was like living with Jean Grey from the X-Men.
Lidu spells out,
my whole life, I had been going to a place,
and I had mentors, and they were teaching me telepathy.
She called it an ethereal place known as the hill.
This is a phenomenon that is described by many of them.
That suggests they're connected
by a shared consciousness,
and one that most of us can't access.
I was so mind-blown.
Then she goes, yeah, I go there every day.
I said, who are you seeing at this place?
And she said, there are teachers there,
light beings.
She says, they have been teaching her
and telling her why she is here.
And they also have messages for the rest of us.
Her main mission she's told me that she's been trained for
was to help everybody know that we're telepathic
and that we can learn to do it as well.
The other world essentially is a school.
The history of religions and the history of civilization
is it's a series of teachers
that are somehow not part of the society.
Lidu is part of that tradition.
In the archive, accounts of people
trying to pass on an ability like this are extremely rare.
I was very shocked,
but it just started to open my mind more.
She just has access to incredible information
that most people don't have access to.
We started working with Dr. Diane
to demonstrate that she could do the telepathy.
And now Lidu's traveling the world,
and she's just teaching people through conferences.
She's doing so much just to get these messages out.
What's so extraordinary is that Lidu,
in order to demonstrate telepathy,
she has to overcome so many different challenges.
But this child really
has so much to teach people.
She says she sees it in the air.
She sees the letters in the air.
She also said
that she sees with her ears and she talks with her eyes.
We need someone in the audience to write down
a story that is very well-known.
Oh, very well-done, cameraman.
So this is a story that she's never actually seen.
Okay, sweetie.
What is a very famous quote
from this story?
L-I-F---
Okay, E. Life.
I-S, is.
Okay, L--E.
Life is like a--
go ahead, sweetie.
B and O and X.
Life is like a box.
Keep going. L and A and...
Go faster, sweetie.
S. Life is like a box of chocolates.
Lidu, that's fantastic.
Well done, Lidu.
We've collected accounts of telepathy for decades,
but I've never seen anything like this.
Well, I think she's in a telepathic state all the time.
I understand how extraordinary it is,
how hard it is, to integrate that
into your way of seeing things,
because it's the opposite of what we're told.
There's so much we have to learn from autistic children.
They're gifts to the world.
I think if we go 500 years into the future,
telepathy won't just be accepted--
it'll be common practice.
The stories of Lidu and Elsa prove
there's a connection between consciousness
and non-verbal autistic kids.
But we can certainly learn a lot about telepathy
from those families.
We'll catalog their accounts so people can study
these incredible gifts long into the future.
I don't know what people are going to say about autism
and telepathy in the future,
