The Imperial Doctress Episode 13

He's like a firecracker. Bursts as soon as he's lit.

Yunxian,

How come you're just here now? I was just about,

I'm sorry. I let you wait too long.

I had to go pick out this out so,

just arrived

Is this... lingzhi? T/N: Ganoderma fungus, thought to have miraculous powers and considered a symbol of good luck.

Right. Lingzhi is a wonder in medicine.

I've been wanting to give you a present.

After thinking about it,

I feel only this item is best suited for you.

So beautiful.

I'll help you put it on.

Wow, look at that lantern! It's so big and beautiful.

Wow, look at that!

So beautiful. So big!

It's so big! It's really beautiful.

Come here, it's even prettier over here.

With this hand I'm holding,

I will grow old.

Your Majesty

Return to Palace.

The matter of Yu'er viewing flower lanterns, I didn't know it beforehand.

He is your son. You live together.

You turned a blind eye?

I...I...

Princess is of noble background. Of course I like her a lot.

That seductress... I originally wanted to quietly

get... get rid of her,

but the Emperor unexpectedly bestowed her the title of xiangjun.

Who is that woman?

She's from the Hang family, the one who treats the sick.

Hang Yunxian?

Yes, that's her.

Who's Hang Yunxian?

She is General Hang Gang's daughter.

She is learning medicine. She healed many patients at Yongqing Covenant

earning her the nickname "living Bodhisattva".

So, it's her.

Governor Xu's wife was killed by her medicine.

If it's not her, who else would it be?!

Who would have thought, she has been currying favor with the Yongqing Convent.

No wonder the Emperor punished Governor Xu for no reason.

Ridiculous beyond belief!

Yes. I still haven't figured out,

when she latched on to Yu'er.

Who cares when?! She dared to wantonly cling on to His Highness anyway.

It's an unforgivable crime!

Be quiet. This matter is not up to you.

Your Highness. In my opinion, we shouldn't make a big fuss out of it.

Let's ask Prince Cheng before we make any decisions.

If Prince Cheng wants to marry her...

No! Definitely not!

I hate Hang Yunxian! I don't want her appearing in front of Prince Cheng!

Be quiet!

Look at your conduct.

How much have you learned of The Three Obediences and Four Virtues? You... You don't have the slightest bearing of a princess.T/N: Confucian ethics for women.

You're not married into Prince Cheng's family yet.

After you're married to Prince Cheng, you will have to

serve the Prince together with other concubines.

This is called women's duty.

Enough!

No matter what, Meilin is still my niece.

As for that Miss Hang...

Yuxiang, go bring a bottle of arsenic.

Yes.

Your Highness, please rethink your decision.

If you want her to die, you can't use this method.

She is the daughter of an official after all.

Not only did she save many patients but she also saved Consort Dowager.

Killing her for no reason like this,

best case, it would infuriate the imperial censor; worst case, it would trigger the people's wrath.

Also, Prince Cheng will hate you.

I really had not thought it through. However, to handle her secretly

if we want to take care of her secretly.

Concubine Wu,

I know you're a clumsy person.

Today, I will give an order here.

One day, if Prince Cheng

wants to become Emperor,

the Empress must be from the Wang family.

Yes.

♫ The smile she gave after receiving the flower ♫

♫ made me forget the nervousness of plucking it ♫

Your Majesty, it is night time already.

Do you want some osmanthus honey?

Leave me! Eat it yourself.

I still have to thank you, for letting me spend an unforgettable New Year.

If you like it, I'll accompany you every year.

- A promise is a promise? - I promise.

♫ One year, and another, I still remember that day ♫

♫ The snow under the eaves was very sweet ♫

♫ One day, one thought, I think about the times we have lost ♫

♫ The wind comes, and you softly walk away ♫

From now on, don't mention osmanthus honey in front of me.

- You may leave. - Yes.

Your servant Wang Zhen requests an audience.

Come in. –Yes.

Your Highness, I've already investigated.

Lady Hang and Prince Cheng already knew one another.

They met each other at the Yongqing Convent.

They actually agreed to meet tonight beforehand.

Don't say anymore.

No wonder you've been beaming with happiness lately.

So you actually have someone you like.

Tell me, who is this girl? How is her attitude?

Attitude is good.

She's kind and gentle. She's also saved my life previously.

We have already decided in private to get married.

Your Highness, do you want to me to,

Don't foolishly guess. I don't like her.

Yes.

Also, next time, don't mention her again in front of me.

Yes, Yes.

Your Highness, it is only the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. I shouldn't have come to disturb you,

but from the two squads caught in a brawl,

one of the instigators, Zheng De'an

used to be your guard.

so I can only ask Your Highness to personally go.

They were fine, why are they quarreling all of a sudden?

All right. I'll go and persuade them.

It'll be good if I can just save one or two more lives.

Why don't Duke go back?

I will take my leave.

Prepare a horse.

You won't need to worry about today's matter.

Because this situation is complicated, I'm afraid I won't make it back in time.

-If coming back... -I will go to Hang Manor to find Zisu,

and have her tell Lady Hang to not be anxious.

So clever.

Tell Duke Wang, he can begin now.

Yes.

I order General Xuanwu Hang Gang to

transfer to the position of Commander in Zhejiang,

moving to Hangzhou immediately.

I accept.

Official Hang, I'm leaving.

What? We're going to Hangzhou immediately?

Right now?

Yes, right now.

But Grandma, you just said we were going to visit Godmother.

No, I can't leave right now.

I,

I still haven't packed all my things.

No need to pack, just buy it when we get there.

Why are we in such a rush?

Ma'am, we've arrived at the wharf.

Hurry.

Miss

Zisu

What are you waiting for?

Did you want the whole wharf to see how you look?

Father, this..

Why are we in such a rush?

This is none of your business, quickly help your grandma on the boat.

Say no more. Let's go, let's go.

Once you've packed everything, let's leave immediately.

Let's go.

What are we going to do?

Master Zhu, Master Zhu.

Zisu. There's is still half an hour before we depart.

Can you help me deliver a letter? –Of course.

I remember that he lives near Xuannan Manor.

There's a big willow tree, and two stone lions.

Ok, I will leave now.

Miss, bad news.

What happened?

Master, won't let us get off the boat. We can only stay here.

But don't worry miss.

Once we arrive, we can still send Master Zhu a message then.

It can still make it.

Ah San,

What happened? Did you become mute?

I was wondering why you haven't said anything the last two days.

I caught a cold the day before yesterday, and my tongue is about to fall off.

Everyday my throat seems to be blocked with phlegm everyday. Don't even mention how unbearable it is.

How can a tongue fall off?

Look.

It's about to hit the tongue soon!

Ah San,

come here quickly.

Miss, why are you looking for me?

If I can cure your tongue, can you help me with something?

You can cure my tongue?

Yes, I can do it. Just deliver a letter for me.

Really? Yes, really.

Find me a pair of chopsticks, I'll take care of it now.

Ok, I will go now.

Zisu, bring me the charcoal.

Yes.

Here. –Sit.

Zisu, water.

Please endure it. It will hurt a bit and feel like a bee sting.

Open your mouth.

Put your tongue down.

How do you feel now?

It went back! It went back!

Thank you Miss!

Then hurry and send this letter to the Zhu Manor by Xuannan Manor.

Find Young Master Zhu Yu. Please personally deliver this into his hands.

Ah San, Ah San.

Remember, don't let anyone else know.

Or else, our miss will make your tongue fall out! –Don't worry.

Also, if you can't find Young Sir Zhu,

Remember, you can also give it to Xiao Ma'zi.

Ok.

Hurry.

You thought of it very thoroughly.

Miss, Old Madam asks if you have settled down.

She invites you to go accompany her now.

Ok.

Let's go.

Your Highness!

Time to eat.

Zisu, do you think Master Zhu will come find us?

Of course he will.

We've only started to move,

so once Master Zhu hears the news, he will come immediately.

After all, Master is going to work as an official,

not as a pirate. He will be able to find us.

Right?

Come on, let's eat.

Yunxian!

Yunxian! Yuxian!

Yunxian!

Yunxian, Yuxian!

I'm here!

Young Sir Zhu!

Yunxian!

Young Sir Zhu!

–Yunxian! -We're here!

Young Sir Zhu.

I'm right here! I'm right here!

Yunxian!

Young Sir Zhu, Young Sir Zhu!

Yunxian, what's the commotion?

Hurry back inside.

Grandma, it's Young Sir Zhu! He's here for me.

Young Sir Zhu! Young Sir Zhu!

- What's is going on here!? - Young Sir Zhu!

Go inside right now.

Father, I don't want to.

–Go! Go inside. –Father.

Young Sir Zhu!

Holding your hand,

we'll grow old together.

Young Sir Zhu!

Father, let go of me.

Young Sir Zhu!

Miss!

Father!

Father!

Sir, it's me.

So, it's you.

So what if you're an imperial guard.

Do I have to get permission from an Imperial Guard

if I want to discipline my daughter?

I am the Emperor's younger brother. Prince Cheng, Zhu Qiyu.

I am officially asking you for Yunxian's hand in marriage.

I want Yunxian to be my Princess Consort.

Who did you say you were?

Prince Cheng?

I didn't know your were Prince Cheng.

I apologize.

General Hang.

There is no need to be so respectful.

Yunxian, can I come in?

Come in.

It is really hard to get Father-in-law's permission to see you.

It's fine. You don't need to avoid me anymore.

Haven't I already asked for your hand in marriage?

You're really Prince Cheng?

Yes.

First, don't get angry.

I am part of the royal family.

But you never said you were Prince Cheng.

And you never mentioned you were the King's only brother.

Yunxian, let me explain. Everything is extremely complicated,

so I haven't told you everything.

The thing is,

even though I'm the second Prince.

But I've grew up outside the palace.

So when I heard you had left the Capital,

I couldn't think of anything else.

Yunxian, why did you all leave in such a hurry?

Even if father-in-law needs to transfer to a new position,

There's isn't a need to take the family and leave all at once..

It's because father was worried.

He was afraid if we stayed, we would be in danger.

This matter should be related to the incident from ten years ago.

The incident from ten years ago?

My family's last name isn't Hang.

I know.

Because General Hang was accomplished, Grand Empress bestowed him the last name.

No.

Our real family name is Tan.

My grandfather was the Imperial Medical Bureau's supervisor at that time.

Because of the safflower that was found in rogue,

caused Noble Consort Sun to miscarry.

I'm sorry.

This was our family's secret

so I wasn't able to tell you.

Don't be scared. Even if you offended Empress Dowager, will protect you.

Yunxian

Right now, are you still willing to marry me?

Yes, I'm willing.

But..

But what?

Do you remember the words we exchanged that day on the bridge?

With this hand I'm holding

I will grow old.

General Hang...Uh no... General Tan.

Yunxian has told me everything about the past incident with the Noble Consort.

If General allows us to get married, Yunxian's matters are also mine.

I can return to the Palace now and present a memorial to the Emperor.

I will clear the Tan's family name.

Based on my relationship with the Emperor, I don't think this should be too hard.

Hang Gang cannot thank Your Highness enough for your kindness.

It's just that this case is old, and we haven't been able to find a suspect.

If we want to clear my father's name, it will be very difficult.

General, if you're willing

I, Qiyu, will do everything to find the suspect.

Your Highness taking a fancy to my daughter is her good fortune.

Hang Gang has nothing to say.

Thank you, father-in-law!

I don't deserve it.

Father-in-law, I think we should dock the ship by the shore.

You should rest a little.

I will hurry back to the palace now.

and ask the Emperor to issue a decree again to cancel your job appointment.

I estimate that you can go back to your manor in less than a day.

Once I finish arranging everything

I will get the Emperor's permission for marriage,

and officially marry your daughter.

I will listen to Your Highness' instructions on everything.

Don't be scared. I'm here now. Everything will be resolved.

I know.

Go now, I'll wait for you.

Why is brother refusing to see me?

–Your Highness. –I have some urgent news.

Your Highness, you really can't enter.

The King was really upset yesterday

and locked himself in the room.

And wouldn't even let the maids enter.

That's no different with you, your Highness.

Then what am I going to do?

Your Highness, what are you still doing here?

No one is to stop over at Qianqing Palace.

You should go back first.

He wouldn't even see me?

Yes.

The emperor even drove out the Head Minister from the Ministry of Rites

who wanted to report on the ceremony

held in celebration of regaining political power.

How could this happen?

Wasn't everything fine couple of days ago?

This..

Wang Zhen.

I am here.

Last night when the emperor left the palace, did something happen?

This..

It is related to the stability of court. You must not hide anything from me.

Please leave.

Yes.

Your Highness,...

I know now.

Miss, it's getting late.

Hurry and get some rest.

I can't sleep. And I wonder if Qiyu was able to meet with the emperor.

Well look, even though it's not that far from the palace

by the time Prince Cheng see the emperor.

still needs time going back and forth.

So rest assure, I'm sure there will be news by morning.

I hope so.

Now can we go back to get some rest?

Since Prince Cheng is willing to restore the family name, isn't that a wonderful thing?

He's the only brother of the emperor.

With his help, even if you can't clear your father's name immediately,

at least when Empress Dowager finds out

about our identity, she'll forgive us

so as not to make Prince Cheng lose face.

I don't think the situation is that simple.

Mother. I have a feeling

This random transfer

probably has something to do with Prince Cheng.

How so?

Mother. You're not in court, so you are not familiar with the Empress Dowager,

Duke Wang, and their relationship with Prince Cheng.

According to what I know, majority of the court officials know

the Empress Dowager is thinking of granting marriage to Prince Cheng and her niece.

You're talking about Princess Anhe?

Exactly. I heard that the Empress Dowager wanted to

grant a marriage edict to Prince Cheng and Princess Anhe.

In the end, it was blocked by the emperor.

The palace banquet didn't end happily.

Mother, think about it.

If Duke Wang finds out that his ideal son-in-law promised himself to someone else in secret,

what will he do?

Then...

In the worst case scenario, he will kill us,

leaving no chances. Not only did this bastard daughter

promise herself to someone in secret,

she even caused so much trouble.

Mother. Don't worry too much

I am just guessing.

Prince Cheng wants us to wait for a day.

If we haven't heard from him by 11am,

we'll leave the boat and keep going via land.

Okay. I will listen to your plans.

I haven't opened the luggage anyways.

Mother.

If we're trying to escape with our lives, no one will be thinking about the luggage.

Yunxian is really bad luck for our family.

If it weren't for her,

why would we suffer so much?

These kind of words, you've already expressed it more than once.

At that time, Yunxian was only a young child

How would she know she was pouring safflower into the rogue?

But if it wasn't for her, the Empress Dowager would have never miscarried.

Father wouldn't commit suicide in order to save us,

and Yunliang wouldn't die after falling off a cliff.

Sadly, this bastard daughter

can't even remember what the liar looked like.

Otherwise, how would the Tan family come to this state?

Alright, alright. So many years have passed already.

Your father has also said that the liar is the main culprit.

It's not Yunxian's fault.

Mother. But now, I'm really scared

If a Prince wants to marry, three generations of the Princess Consort's family must be cleared.

If us changing our last name from Tan to Hang is investigated,

will Empress Dowager have mercy on us?

Will Duke Wang let us go?

Who is it?

Is it Yunxian?

Come in.

–Father. -Master, Old Madam.

It's already so late, why aren't you sleeping? Why are you both acting so suspicious?

No we aren't. We couldn't sleep, so we just wanted to get some air.

Get some air?

It's ok, it's ok, it's ok.

It's late now, go get some rest.

Yes.

Alright Mother.

Be careful. There's someone outside.

-Hurry up and leave! -Hurry, leave!

Hurry, run!

-Hurry! –Grandma! Be careful!

Be careful!

Kill!

Old Madam!

Who are you people?!

Miss!

Run quickly!

–Old Madam! –Grandma

Tell me! Who sent you?

Die!

Miss!

Zisu!

Zisu!

It's you!

That's right, it's me!

You ruined my family, I want your life!

Father!

Zisu!

Father!

Yunxian! Yunxian! Yunxian!

Yunxian!

This transfer order seems fishy. I didn't know about it at all.

You didn't know anything about this either?

Then where did the edict come from?

Your Highness. Tomorrow, keep trying to convince the emperor.

I will go to the Ministry of Defense and see if I can clear the matter up.

Good.

Xiao Shun'zi, please tell the emperor of my presence.

This is an urgent matter.

Your Highness. Let me be frank,

it looks like the emperor is upset with you.

From the looks of it, if you're in a hurry

maybe you should get some advice from the Empress.

Upset at me? Why?

I'm not quite sure.

I heard the emperor drank too much

and was cursing you.

That's just my personal opinion.

–Your Majesty. –Your Highness!

- Your Highness! - Your Majesty.

Your Highness, aren't you purposely sending me to the chopping block now?

Your Highness.

Your Majesty.

I have committed a severe crime by coming into your palace without permission.

It's just that I don't know how I have offended Your Majesty.

I ask Your Majesty to clarify.

You don't know?

You don't know?

Her Highness has arrived.

Why are you here?

I came without your permission, and for that I ask for Your Majesty's forgiveness.

It's just that I think

the Emperor must want to know of this matter immediately.

I will temporarily take my leave.

No need.

This situation is related to you, Prince Cheng.

What's the matter? Speak.

Just then, Yu Dongyang asked to meet me, stating that he had received urgent news.

Commander Hang's family

encountered bandits.

Then what happened to Yunxian?

Although, the General and his mother was able to maintain their lives.

But Lady Hang Yunxian,

has unfortunately passed.

Your Highness! Your Highness!

-Your Highness! -Your Highness!

Your Highness, how are you feeling?

Should I call the imperial physician?

Your Majesty.

Prince Cheng. Your Highness!

Prince Cheng!

Your Highness!

I've found the corpse of Xu, Duke Wang's Manor

but Hang Yunxian was wounded and fell into the water.

But we haven't found her body, we will continue to look.

You useless fool. Leave!

Yes.

Father. Did she die?

They only found Xu Ji's corpse.

Hang Yunxian won't be able to survive.

She was critically wounded and fell into the water.

In this cold weather,

with the current so deep and strong,

if she survives, she must be a deity.

Good.

Xu's death is very helpful.

He will be solely responsible for this situation.

He had a deep hatred against them, and purposely sought them about for revenge.

This way, Prince Cheng wouldn't suspect us.

Meilin.

You must take this chance to comfort Prince Cheng

while not letting slip our involvement.

Yes.

This situation was well taken care of.
