This programme contains strong language.
The ten remaining fortune-seekers continued their gruelling
18-day trek through the Malaysian jungle
to win whatever's left of a 300-grand fortune.
To keep the money intact,
they must resist spending it on tantalising temptations...
This is what's going to get us through.
You're weak, pathetic.
That is just pure greed.
..because whatever they spend comes off the group's prize pot.
Four-and-a-half grand! For a Chinese!
As the tough conditions got harder, Vicki called it quits...
I'm going home. I can't spend other people's money.
..and temptation-avoiding Nathaniel succumbed to
a pastry in private, colluding with David not to let on.
You're a vicar. Does that mean you keep it under oath?
Bad boys for life.
We didn't take it. We left it, we left it. Yes, boys!
The fortune-seekers were split into two groups.
Ah, it's a buffet!
Sam's half resisted spending...
We just saved £4,500 there.
..while Nathaniel's team splashed the cash...
Mmm. ..and stuffed their faces.
I am surprised Nathaniel gave in to it.
He made it very apparent that he's very strong,
but he was all guns blazing.
The ten remaining fortune-seekers are just over halfway through
their epic 18-day trek.
For the last 19 hours,
they've been split into two groups
and are camped just 200m apart.
We've got a week left. One week and we'll be home. Luxuries,
as in hairbrush, hot shower... Mm! ..deodorant.
Neither group knows how long they'll be separated for
or have any idea about the other group's spending.
18 days with nothing other than rice and beans.
Mm-hm. That's the goal, mate.
Not, "Oh, I need something big today."
Yesterday, Nathaniel's group couldn't resist their first sample
of mouthwatering food in nine days
and splurged £4,500 on a Chinese buffet.
GROANING After last night's Chinese,
this is like a fall from grace, innit?
I feel like we really came together yesterday
over that Chinese buffet.
Nathaniel was so adamant about not spending money,
and four-and-a-half grand gone, just like that.
I think that Chinese last night, it being a buffet,
we had a few plates, I think that's enough to kind of sustain...
What, until the end?
I think so. For a week, yeah.
I keep my cards close to my chest.
I took that cinnamon roll with David in secret.
And because we took the Chinese buffet as a group,
that's the perfect cover-up. With me being a leader,
I need to feed myself so I can feed the team.
Yeah, after that amount of food last night, I feel good.
So, being a personal trainer, I'm disciplined.
I mean, look at my muscles.
So, I'm not often tempted by treats,
but I am tempted by necessities.
If there is anything that could break me in this experience,
it's probably going to be protein.
I have never gone without protein bars,
meat, fish, some kind of source of protein.
So, I'm...I'm terrified about losing all my gains in the jungle.
I can hold out for everything now. We're strong, we can do this.
Definitely.
As Sam's group didn't have enough votes to take
the Chinese buffet,
everyone missed out on the temptation.
I really wish that we had a bit more takers in the group
and I wish Nathaniel was here.
He's not really a temptation taker per se,
but I'm his brother, so I know the truth.
Man, that guy was scoffing down that pastry
like there was no tomorrow.
It's clear that food could be his kryptonite.
Are you hungry? Very bloody hungry, yeah.
I'm actually starving today. Yeah.
I'm slightly missing Thom.
I was a bit gutted to see he was in the other group.
I feel we've come in at
a fairly similar standpoint in terms of the temptations,
and I think whether we take stuff, one's, like, actions
heavily influence the other.
So, I think we'd find it hard for one of us to take
a temptation and the other one not to take it.
I'd be very surprised if Thom ended up giving in to a temptation.
The mattresses are all wet.
It's going to be a challenge to, you know, set up the fire today.
The basic standard of living in camp life,
it's very difficult.
I'm sweaty, I'm dirty, I'm stinky.
I need some oxygen, and temptations are my oxygen.
It's so weird, isn't it?
The tiniest little things that you just don't appreciate... Yeah.
..when you're at home.
Being able to, like, wash my face properly.
Waking up without a puffy face.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And putting on a clean outfit.
It's hard to stay positive
when we are crammed in this small tent.
It's like you wake up and you've got a toe in your nostril.
It's like, where's the escape?
This lot have been here for nearly two weeks now
and it's getting to the point where they really need a break,
mainly from each other.
So, we have just the ticket - a private oasis in the jungle
to enjoy some much-needed me time.
This is Langkawi's prize secret -
a hidden retreat,
floating on the tropical waters of the Andaman Sea,
with 360-degree views,
where you can switch off from the rest of the world.
This luxury overnight stay comes with
an ultra-comfy king-size bed,
a hot shower, air-con,
dinner served on your own private deck,
and breakfast the following morning.
Each campmate will leave their group to scope out
the retreat individually.
And if they want it, they'll have to place a bid.
The highest bidder will win the retreat.
But the sting in the tail -
the whole group will pay for the indulgence.
SHE LAUGHS Oh, my God.
Oh, the retreat!
Wow.
Oh, you fuckers, man.
Look at the view!
What wine have you got? We've got a Merlot.
Everyone knows I love red wine, right? Whew.
That does feel nice.
HE GROANS
This is ridiculous.
Oh, my God!
This is splash.
Oh, some more delicious food to be served.
"Steak served with greens and chips."
Face masks, Vitamin E.
That's exactly what I need, something to de-stress me.
Oh! SHE LAUGHS
Oh, that feels so good.
Oh, it's a proper bed.
SHE SIGHS
Oh, yeah. This feels good, man.
Oh, my God.
This is a lot.
I don't even want to know how much this costs.
"Steak with greens and chips." Wow.
Oh, my God, guys. You're making me shake now.
At the moment, I can't even breathe.
"This is the retreat, an exclusive getaway on Langkawi."
"You can stay in your own private floating accommodation."
"Dinner will be served to enjoy on your private deck."
"Breakfast in bed will be served the following day." So, two meals!
"This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be offered to the person
"who deems it most tempting."
HE CHUCKLES
"Write your price to stay in the retreat
"and place it in the box." Ohhh!
"The highest bidder will stay here tonight." Oh, wow.
Oh, we've got a bidding war.
Oh, this is juicy.
Oh, my God. Wow.
Each fortune-seeker can place a bid,
up to any amount, without the others knowing,
but the winning bid will be deducted from
the shared prize pot,
and whoever wins can choose
to share it with another fortune-seeker.
SHE EXHALES
I love this kind of thing.
Everything here, you know, on your doorstep.
I feel like it was placed here purely for me.
Once-in-a-lifetime, definitely.
This is unbelievable.
This is stunning, breathtaking.
Just the breeze alone's worth a couple of grand.
It's very private, isn't it?
This is your own exclusive retreat.
I just want the steak and chips, mate.
I wouldn't want to do this on my own.
I'd have to share it with somebody.
This would be nice, me and Hugo.
Nice little romantic setting as well.
Tomasz would love a bit of this
because he's all about that glam life.
I can spend this time with Imani, that would be just amazing.
I know that some people want this more than me. So, do I bid?
Do I think about myself? Do I think about others?
People are going to go mad for it.
I think I'll put down, like, 100 quid.
And if I was to win, I mean, it'd be a bargain.
I came with the goal of not taking any temptations.
I'm not putting a bid in.
As beautiful as it is, it's a no from me.
Argh! Oh, my God!
I deserve a fricking medal for this.
I'm just going to put nothing down. I had the Chinese last night.
I'm trying to behave myself.
It's once-in-a-lifetime, there's no doubt about it,
and I've got a feeling it's going to really, really
put the cat amongst the pigeons.
But if I took another temptation now,
I'd be really disappointed, not just in myself,
but I'll disappoint Hugo.
SHE EXHALES I think I'm...
..wanting to hold out on this one.
This experience is definitely changing me.
I didn't think I had this grit.
And now that I've found it,
I feel like I don't need to say yes
to every single thing that comes my way.
I think the one thing that I'm missing from home is
being able to walk into the shower and turn it on.
The temptations I've taken were amazing,
the Haribo was a no-brainer,
the cinnamon bun was
the best cinnamon bun I've had in my life,
but this is completely extravagant.
You know, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I think, probably, like...
..£1,000.
I think, other than Tomasz, that might be the highest bid.
Whew. This is ridiculous.
Fuck. OK. I'm not very good with bidding.
After sleeping in what smells like rotting tent, I need this.
We're on day ten and the treks and,
you know, the rations have been quite challenging.
I've been a team player for most of this experience,
but it's time to put yourself first every once in a while.
The Chinese was four-and-a-half grand.
I'd pay more than four-and-a-half grand for this over the Chinese,
but that was a group.
I'm exhausted, my hips are killing me.
I'm so looking forward to that bed. I'm going to tip the scales.
Oh, the tactics are coming into play.
All right. I want to start it with a three
cos I feel like three doesn't sounds as bad as four.
I'm going to say £4,000.
I'm not going to go mad.
I think Trish would have gone in pretty hardcore with this one.
Oh, my God. I can't believe I'm writing this down.
Someone's going to kill me.
You know what? Changing my price.
So, I kind of have a couple of figures in my head.
I'm an alpha, I like to be in control.
I just want to win. I don't like to lose.
Go, go.
HE CHUCKLES
£10,000.
Let the games begin.
The fortune-seekers have just gone head-to-head in
a bidding war to win a luxury temptation.
The retreat, an overnight stay for up to two people.
Now the groups are back together, let's find out who's won.
Here we go. Oh, no! Strap in.
We've got The Book Of Revelations.
Best-case scenario today would be
nobody bids on the retreat
and we don't affect the prize pot,
but I really don't think that's going to happen,
so I'm absolutely dreading the outcome of it, to be honest.
The highest bid will come out of the shared prize pot,
and whoever wins can choose to share it with one other person.
I'm a bit nervous.
I think I've put too much money.
I think I'm the only one who'd bid that kind of money.
"Unfortunately, no-one from this group won the bidding
"for the retreat."
So, that means someone in the other group bid higher than us.
I think we need to find out how many each other bid. Hmm.
We'll start with you, Sam.
I bid zero pounds, zero pence.
That doesn't surprise me.
How much did you bid, Hugo?
Zero pounds cos I thought I don't want there to be any, like,
possibility that I'm taking that thing.
I bid £100. If I was to win, that would be a bargain.
Good thinking, Henners.
Dave, what did you bid, mate?
I put, like, a grand.
Did you? Yeah. You put a grand?!
What did you put, Tomasz?
My first initial thought was...
..£3,000.
And then I thought, like, OK, guys, but actually, big total,
right, now I've reduced the price to £1,500.
That's shocked me. Some self-control, I'm seeing here.
I just wonder how much the other group bid.
Going over, like, 1,500, man,
I think that's taking liberties.
That's way too high.
I'm just thinking, where is somebody's head at?
Let's see who put the bid in, shall we?
I am a little bit nervous.
I think I may have gone
a little bit OTT with the price.
Right, you ready? Not really.
HE LAUGHS Let's see.
"Congratulations, Nathaniel,
"you have won the bidding for the retreat.
"Please leave camp to go and enjoy your evening."
Surprised by that.
Oh, my God. How much did you spend?! Yeah!
Because I thought I went too much.
Go through and then I'll tell you how much I spent.
I bid £3,250.
Oh, wow. I bid zero.
Yeah? I've done quite a few temptations, so I bid zero.
I think it was something like 3,698.
I thought you lot were going to be bidding a bit more.
No! Yeah. What did you bid?!
I put 10k on the table.
What?! No, you didn't!
Oh, my God.
I was like, "Maybe I've gone a bit too much."
That's six grand over ours.
I'm in shock.
I thought, "You know what?
"If I'm going to treat myself in here, it's going to be on this."
You going to do it on your own? This one really spoke to my soul,
so I'm going to do it by myself.
Get ready for Sam's roar when she returns
cos that's what's going to go down.
All right, see you.
I've reached halfway
and now I'm prepared to have a little bit of fun.
I'm not going to take the piss too much,
but a lot of the other members of
the team have been taking temptations.
I think there's still a little bit of the pot left to play with,
so I believe this is the time to play with that money.
Oh, he's going to be loving it with that steak, mate. Fuck me.
The Book Of Revelations?
The Book Of Shit-The-Beds more like.
Ten grand!
Yeah, wow. I did not see that coming at all,
especially not from Nathaniel of all people.
This is the biggest plot twist of the experience.
If someone had just done a ridiculously high bid,
I would just think they've been a bit silly. Don't be an idiot.
I just want to know who took it because, like, I'm thinking
Martha has had a temptation already. I don't think it was Martha.
I'm thinking, maybe...
How about Thom?
No, Thom...Thom would have picked Hugo.
If Imani, like, had won,
wouldn't she have chosen you to join her? Mm.
That's the thing that doesn't make sense. It said all of us
are staying in camp this evening.
I trust Thom and Nathaniel.
I'd be very surprised if Nathaniel ended up winning it.
I always believe that the harder you work,
the more you deserve.
I've put myself in the most uncomfortable situations,
I've helped others.
I believe I've earned this retreat.
I believe the team knows I deserve it too.
Someone was going to sleep in here tonight.
Why can't it be me?
The problem is he positioned himself as the leader who was
going to be extremely frugal out here.
And now we've seen that, actually,
when no-one's looking, he will go crazy.
I'm just in shock. I don't...I don't get it.
He's going to be loving life now,
but the fact is that he may not be loving life when he comes back
and realises that everyone has lost respect for him.
Oh, he's definitely gone down in my estimation.
He was adamant he wasn't going to spend anything.
But now, he could be planning on spending the whole lot.
Was he planning this right from the beginning,
and made us think that he's a decent guy,
when actually he's a selfish git?
All of the times that he's been horrified at people taking,
and less than 24 hours after he did the Chinese,
he's blown 10k in one night.
I think he's lost his head tonight.
It says a lot about trust. And, me personally,
I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.
Nathaniel, his true colours are showing.
I knew from the beginning that he was a fake,
and that he was selfish.
And, finally, everyone else sees it too.
Oh, thank you. You're too kind.
HE LAUGHS
I'm taking that.
Oh, I've been waiting for this.
I hate to see food go to waste.
What kind of man would I be to waste 10k?
Mmm.
TRISH: Oh, no. Do you know what? He's literally eaten it all.
What is this literally for you?
Yeah, that's it. That's all that's left.
Thom, look at what your mate's done.
Look, what Nathaniel has left for Trish to have for dinner.
He's eaten it all.
Why would you do that?
I am in absolute shock.
I'm really, really disappointed in him.
And I'd like to hear why he thought it was necessary to eat
all our food, before he actually went and had two steak and chips.
You're leaving your campmates with no food.
That's not funny, that's nasty.
NATHANIEL: One steak down, one to go.
This tastes amazing the chips are fluffy,
yet crispy on the outside, the steak is succulent.
I think this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I don't trust anyone in the group not to fuck that up for me,
and I got two steaks in the process.
Now, he's shown us that the leadership really isn't there,
because he's left you hungry and he's left Thom to sleep in a tent.
Also, he's shown us that, really, he doesn't value
the prize pot like he said.
So, I think that people are going to start spending,
and I think it's just going to be one big mess now.
Oh, my gosh. I hate to think what the repercussions might be.
Oh, there's so many pillows.
HE SIGHS This is the life.
There's The Retreat, where Nathaniel should be just about waking up,
after eating everyone's rice and beans,
eating two steaks, and spending ten grand.
Ten grand!
Can't wait till Sam finds out.
By taking this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,
I don't believe there will be much more to tempt me,
but I did say that last time, and here we are.
Oh, gosh. You look like you're suffering, Thom.
SHE LAUGHS. It's just so stodgy, innit?
Yeah. When you get out of here, how much would you need to be paid
if someone said, "You've got to eat rice and beans
"straight for another month"?
Ten grand. SHE LAUGHS
Since the fortune-seekers were split into two groups,
largely thanks to Nathaniel,
his team have now spent 14-and-a-half grand
in just 40 hours.
I think Nathaniel put himself as a leader,
but he's just quashed that totally.
As a leader, this is showing the group that if you work hard,
you can play hard, and that's exactly what I'm doing now.
My mum always said "Watch the quiet ones."
It's the fact that he was willing to put £10,000 on it.
It's different to what anyone else has done here,
it's way worse.
And he might do exactly the same thing he did after the Chinese,
come in here, going, "Oh, you know, now that I've had my protein,
"that's enough to carry me to the end."
Well, you said that before, Nathaniel. So...
Yeah, no-one's going to believe what he says any more. No.
I'm hoping Nathaniel's feeling guilty.
Maybe he's not feeling guilty at all,
maybe he's sniggering about it.
Oh, my God, when the rest of the group find out
how much Nathaniel spent on The Retreat,
all hell's going to break loose.
This was worth every penny.
I'm not afraid of the group.
I think there will be members that are happy for me,
and the other ones...
We'll just have to wait and see what they have to say.
In order to lead, in order to look after other people,
you have to look after yourself.
It's time for Nathaniel to take off his mask,
and come and face the music.
Ah...Aha, the wanderer returns.
Oh, my God. He's back.
Look at the state of that.
I've never seen him smile before.
That's a rub-your-nose-in-it smirk.
Hello. How was your 10-grand coconut?
10-grand coconut? 10-grand steak.
I had... I actually had two of them.
And you had our dinner.
Your dinner? Our rice and beans, yeah.
Oh, sorry about that.
HE SCOFFS Sorry about that.
All right, well, I'm sure you have questions.
Why?
Um...it was necessary.
I needed that kind of time alone.
The price? I thought If we can do 4.5 on Chinese, I thought...
But that was for five people. I understand that.
I'm just running you through my thought process at the time.
I thought, if we can do 4.5 on Chinese,
then everyone's going to be kind of bidding between...
..between the five and the ten mark.
I've been a team player.
And not to say that no-one else deserves it,
but I felt like I earned it.
You said that about the Chinese meal. Yeah.
And you also said, "Now, I'm OK to go through to the end."
My social battery was just at zero.
So, are you saying, every time your batteries are low,
you're going to spend ten grand?
I don't plan to.
Er, I...I genuinely needed it.
I feel like I got what I needed.
When I was taking temptations,
you and Sam were trying to make my life out here
a living hell.
So, now, you doing this,
it's almost like it's OK for you,
but it's not OK for anyone else.
And, yeah, I just think...
I actually think you owe me an apology, to be honest.
Fair enough.
My aim here wasn't to make you feel like that.
I'm not making excuses for what I did,
I'm not saying that it's OK for me.
I'm just giving you a reason as to why I did it.
It's... I think it's just a bit of a kick in the teeth.
The ten grand was just...
I mean, I don't know how that's going to go down
with the other camp. Yeah, we...
We've got to tread really carefully with Sam.
I just. Do you know what it is?
I've seen Sam blow her top for way less.
Yeah. Once she goes, she's gone.
So, I've seen her go nuts over some cheesy chips in a pub.
So, I'm just like, you know, it's going to go down.
Nathaniel's actions have definitely opened up my eyes to
the fact you have no idea who's going to spend what.
You know, I don't know people well enough, really, to trust them.
This could start a whole new, different side to the camp.
This could start a big spending spree,
and then we've hardly got anything left.
Nathaniel's stance, from the very beginning,
has been, "We don't need to take temptations.
"We don't need luxury.
"We don't need anything, apart from this jungle life."
There's a word that comes to mind - hypocrite.
You didn't get an apology for him eating your food. No.
And I didn't get an apology. No.
He said he owes us all one, but it hasn't come yet.
I didn't expect it, mate.
It's not the type of bloke to give apologies.
The way I look at it, Nathaniel's just walked into the easy camp,
like this is like a practice run, like a dress rehearsal.
Wait until he gets in there, in front of Sam.
HE SCOFFS
It's like feeding him to the lions.
But before the groups reunite,
lying ahead of them is today's trek.
Guys, I've found the map.
Oh, wow. OK.
To get to the next campsite,
both groups will be enduring the same gruelling,
5-kilometre trek, through dense, thorny rainforest,
with a steep 100-metre ascent.
Ready? Yes. Marvellous. Let's go.
Let's get this party started.
Shall we do it then, boys? Positive thinking, guys.
Let's go.
Oh, for fuck sake.
Oh, my gosh. Here we go.
Ooh, a rope bridge.
Um, so, we're literally going to be like that.
Ready?
Well, I don't really have much upper-body strength,
but I'll give it my best shot. Let's go. Let's make a move.
Bloody hell.
Oh, my gosh. SHE EXHALES
Feeling strong this morning. Yeah?
You fucking should be, two steaks. Yeah.
Guys, I think we've forgotten that we're not supposed
to be talking to Nathaniel at the moment.
I'm not going to ignore you.
I'm just going to give you fucking hell.
It's started. I think it's going to be a long day.
SHE GROANS
How do you think the rest of the guys are getting on?
They're probably in a nice bubble.
They don't realise they're skint yet.
They don't realise we've spent all their money.
Oh, good. More jungle.
This is quite steep, so be careful.
Me and hills don't have the best relationship.
I'm really, I'm really not suited to be doing downhill with my build.
It's very easy to... I mean, it's easy for everyone
to topple over, but especially with me.
I think a night in that retreat home
might have made this...
..ten times easier.
Unlike the other group, who've had the Chinese buffet,
as well as Nathaniel's double steak, plus breakfast,
Sam's group's only source of energy has been rice and beans.
We're just absolutely exhausted, aren't we?
That's where we're at today.
Mm, I think we're just getting through,
day-by-day now, at the moment.
Obviously, today's trek, I think everyone's just getting
their heads down and just...
..getting to the camp, really, aren't we?
At the start, I set myself a goal to make it to the end
with essentially no temptation taken.
It's important for me, because I've been faced
with quite a lot of obstacles and challenges throughout my life,
obviously, with being deaf.
So, I had to work hard in order to get to where I am.
This is an opportunity for me to prove that I am strong-willed,
and I can tell myself that.
I feel like we're all in... Fully immersing ourselves in
the jungle experience, and that's our own choice,
but we're also trying to have as much money as possible at the end.
Yes. I came here to take as much money home to my family as possible.
My restaurant was beautiful fresh food,
beautiful linen the tables, real old school.
Gorgeous service.
Um, but unfortunately, the current cost
of living just wasn't, wasn't practical to run.
With my two children, I have to budget.
Life's tough. I don't have the money I,
you know, used to have.
So, of course, money motivates me - not for me,
purely to give my children a good life.
Come on, boys.
I'm tired of being with the B Squad.
Since we got split up, like, it's been quite dry.
Obviously, I get on with you, but it's just...
We came here to be happy, not to be miserable, you know?
No fun.
I wish we could swap those three for Nathaniel,
Martha and Imani.
I think that would be the dream team.
The hunger is just making me a bit more tired,
especially after I couldn't indulge in the Chinese chicken.
You know, really craving something other than some beans and rice.
I'm looking forward to seeing what spicy,
juicy temptations are on their way, boy.
If a bit of a pick-me-up is all they need,
they won't have to last that long.
Guys, I've just seen something through the bushes.
Oh, my gosh. It's jellies!
Pick n' mix,
for that sweet energy boost to make a trek easy as pie.
Or if the 36 degree heat is too hot to handle,
how about a refreshing, ice-cold slushy to quench the thirst?
But this is probably the most expensive sweet shop on the planet.
SHE GASPS
Oh, my God. Smell 'em...
First to face the sugar fix is Nathaniel's group.
So, the slushies are £300.
The pick n' mix, 100g is £250.
That doesn't actually tickle my fancy, you know?
Because of the heat, I'm getting a bit of a headache.
So, I need to stay away from those today.
I love chocolate.
Do you really need it, after we've had Chinese?
I don't need it. I just think it would be nice.
I have absolutely no willpower, and I'm very impulsive.
I did get a buzz from taking the Chinese.
So, I think I could probably benefit from having Hugo back by my side,
because now I've had one temptation,
the impulsiveness has kicked in.
No, no, no, no. You're all right. Let's swerve it, let's swerve it.
Exactly. Yeah, Hugo's going to kick my butt.
I've found we're very good at turning down cheap temptations,
but with expensive ones, we're like. Yeah.
We're not interested, are we?
David's going to have a field day. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Oh, my God, guys, there is... HE LAUGHS
..there is a temptation.
Woo!
Having missed out on the Chinese buffet and The Retreat,
will David and Tomasz be able to resist a sugar rush?
The cold drinks. Oh... Good.
Oh, feel that.
That's cooling me down so well.
Wow.
Oh, they've got so much Smarties as well.
Slushies, £300. Pick n' mix, £250.
Why don't we take something and share it?
No freaking way.
But your body uses a lot of heat. Just, like, drinking something cold
actually makes you hotter after.
It's a 'no' from me, guys.
Yeah, I've never really been, like, a pick n' mix fan.
Amazing as it is, I'm going to say no for that one.
This is right up my street.
I think this has my name written all over it.
All over it.
The rewards is that once the job's done...
You can bathe in slush then.
I'm going to say no, I'm going to say no.
Taking temptations, it feels good at the time.
But you kind of start feeling bad afterwards,
because you get to know people and you feel guilty
from taking from the prize pot.
I just have to keep my eyes on the prize,
which is to get to the next camp.
Not today for everyone, then?
Not today, folks. It's a no from us.
For the first time, everyone's resisted temptation.
But the groups will soon be back together,
and Nathaniel's lot will have to face the music
to the tune of 14-and-a-half grand.
Guys, it's a big tent.
Oh, we're all back together. Yeah, we're all back.
Oh... OK, we need to buckle up.
You know what that means? Beef.
The beef is going to be served.
I think the group will still respect me as a leader.
We just all need to remain in alignment, moving forward.
I'm definitely not going to defend Nathaniel.
He is a big boy, he can defend himself.
Hallelujah.
I can hear David from a sodding mile away.
Oh, gosh.
I let Nathaniel know that we are holding him accountable,
and that he does need to apologise to us.
Oi, oi.
There they are.
So, I will be front row to see this all unfold.
How are you? You all right? Yeah, good, thank you.
Oh, good to see you. You, too.
Sam's a worry. The worst possible outcome is, Sam goes,
"Fuck this. Fuck you all. Spend..."
Do you know what I mean? And then we're all, then we're all fucked.
Hopefully, Nathaniel's going to be able to reel her back in.
Like what we've done with the place?
I feel bad that you guys had to arrive first
and set it all up for us.
Yeah, guys, come and have a seat.
I feel like there's a lot to catch up on.
Straight to the nitty-gritty, yeah? Straight to the nitty-grits.
I ain't done nothing naughty, for once.
This is definitely the calm before the storm.
After 48 hours apart,
both groups have been reunited and must now reveal
what they've spent from the shared prize pot.
All right, guys. Do you want the good news or the bad news?
We want the good news, good news first, yeah.
Yeah, good news is, um...
..we've come to an understanding throughout the group..
..that we now need to be very responsible
with money, moving forward.
The bad news is...
..for The Retreat, um...
..I put down 10k.
10k? 10,000.
Oh, my God.
I wasn't expecting 10k.
You're so full of shit, it's unbelievable.
I can't even look at you, honestly.
Can't even look at you, mate.
Like, what was the rationale?
My social battery was below minimum,
and I realised I actually needed some time alone.
So, I'm happy I took the space away.
Oh, I'm glad you had a lovely, relaxing time,
when we've all starved and took nothing.
That's correct. You're so full of shit.
I do owe an apology to Imani and Tomasz
for making your time here uncomfortable.
There has to be a balance.
If we're all as stupid as you, then what happens? If all of us...
OK, let's not call... ..let's not call somebody stupid.
All right. So, so...
So, therefore, we're staying strong,
so you can all have the time of your lives.
Yeah, right. And then we all go home with money.
But you don't see it like that.
You come in here, like the big terminator, the big "I am".
You are so full of shit, mate, and I'm telling you that,
straight to your face.
It's just fucking... It's just... It's a fucking joke.
You're a joke.
Everyone's on their own journey, Sam.
Don't even. Just...no.
What about the Chinese buffet?
The buffet came up on the first day,
and that cost 4.5...
HE GROANS Oh, fuck me.
We've spent zero,
but you spent £14,500 in two-and-a-half days.
So, it's a bit unfair. We had to be careful.
Who authorised all this?
It came up, it said if three or more people want it...
Literally, two seconds it took us to decide on that,
because we said we wanted a group one.
Yeah, but. We wasn't together as a group, but you lot still took it.
You didn't think about the other half.
But you had the same choice.
Do you know what I mean? I didn't have the same choice,
because there probably would have been two of us
and we was outnumbered.
If we were all like you lot, it's like...
There's...there's fuck-all left.
You should have thought about how we were feeling as well.
We did, and that's why we chose it.
How does that? How? On what planet does that make sense?
Because we needed proper food. You, you...
You thought about how we were feeling?
That's how you went and stuffed your face with Chinese?
That don't make no sense, Trish.
I just thought that we were kind of moving with a certain trajectory,
as a group, do you know what I mean?
But you've taken one.
Yeah, and I...I... I told everyone that I took it.
Yeah, I've taken one. Because it was £300.
Yeah, but it doesn't matter about the number.
Of course it's about the number!
It's all about the number.
You've spent more money than me, bruv.
So, you're worse, that's what I'm trying to tell you.
I'm there, standing there, it's beating down with the hot sun.
I'm looking at a £300 slush puppy, thinking,
"Oh, I don't know. Oh, yeah, the group, the group, the group."
Bang the group, man.
The group ain't thinking about other people.
Everyone's just doing their own thing.
It's changed the game a little bit for me now.
When I'm spending money, no-one don't tell me nothing.
Don't say nothing to me, innit? I'm doing my thing now.
Maybe it's time to have some fun then, David, isn't it?
Hey?
Because I could do with fucking cheering up.
I think there's enough for people to take a treat,
and there's enough for people to take something home.
Yeah, well, I'm feeling like a fucking treat.
Loyalty is everything to me.
And, unfortunately,
people don't have the same values in life,
and I'm obviously learning that the hard way.
The only two that are standing in there now that have taken nothing
are the two youngest boys.
You all right?
I thought we were onto something, we were in a team.
I know. I thought I could trust you.
Everyone needs time to process it.
It took us overnight.
Well, that's it. We've only just been told this,
and you can't really expect, like, David and Sam just to calm down.
Every action has a consequence.
This has sort of split the camp.
There's going to be a few people that decide that
we're going to be more careful,
and then there's going to be other people that are going to be
absolutely ridiculous and just spend, spend, spend.
After hearing that, I don't think that I cannot not spend.
For what reason?
I was holding back for the group, collectively.
I didn't think I realised that before,
I thought I was just doing my own thing.
Do what you want to do, mate.
If you want to leave with no money, that's sweet.
The amount of times Nathaniel would say.
"I'm not going to spend other people's money",
then he goes and, does it.
Stuff like that will stay in my head.
Do I regret the oriental buffet? No.
Do I regret the stay in The Retreat?
No. The bid I put in was a bit excessive.
I don't personally think this is going to affect much.
I still have the respect from a lot of people in the camp.
Ugh, you didn't even hear the fucking juicy part.
SHE LAUGHS
Nathaniel fucked off, but had already eaten dinner
and didn't leave any for me and Trish.
SHE LAUGHS We were like. Fuck.
He's fucking stupid.
A Chinese buffet in the middle of a jungle,
when you can see the end, is taking the piss.
£10,000 on a cosy retreat for yourself is taking the piss.
My anger is bad, isn't it?
No, I feel you, man.
I'm just trying to keep my shit together.
Sam's extremely quiet,
and has a very stern look on her face.
She's ready to blow.
Are you, are you...are you buying the apology, or...?
I'm not buying his apology, no. No.
He's absolutely no match for me, that...
No match at all. Mm.
NATHANIEL: Any time you want to talk, I'm there.
I don't want to talk to you, honestly. That's fine, that's fine.
It's there. You think you're a big, tough guy. You're just...
£10,000 on a... ..on a retreat, on your own...
Look at you standing there, all like fricking.
You think you're the big man. Honest to God,
I'd fucking chew you up and spit you out.
Do what you need to do. Do what you need to do.
Do what you need to do.
Absolutely pathetic, you are.
"I'm a big man, and I need a night away on my own,
"with a bottle of red wine and some steak."
There is going to be a line that we're going across,
where it gets disrespectful, yeah?
When we get to that point, yeah...
Nathaniel, the point's well and gone.
You can't even see the point. When we get, when we get to...
When we get to that point, Sam, yeah. Yeah? Yeah?
And you've got it off your chest,
and you actually want to have a proper conversation, yeah.
Yeah, I do not want to have a proper conversation.
You're not man enough. Cos... ..cos all of this emotion.
All of this emotion.
You, you can... You're not man enough.
You cannot faze me with anything you say to me.
Take yourself off now, I don't even want to look at you.
I've come here, I've challenged myself.
I've also put my neck on the line for...for a team,
a team that threatened to rinse the pot dry,
a team that questioned my leadership.
You start wonder why you're actually doing it.
I've only got six days left of being strong.
Am I going to suffer for the next six days,
or should I go and have the greatest time of all?
That was madness.
My concern is, people now acting out of spite.
It's not gone down too well.
Nathaniel's definitely blown it now,
if he thought he was the leader. SHE LAUGHS
I feel like we've lost complete control now.
This is going to be a race to the bottom,
and the pot's going to be diminished.
Should I continue to protect the group's money?
I don't see why I should.
I'd rather go home with nothing,
than them telling me what I'm going home with.
There really is a storm tonight.
Yeah, there is a storm brewing.
Having the cheek and the nerve to say,
"We came to a unanimous decision,
"now, let's not do no spending."
Are you crazy?
Nah, you don't understand. Listen, the bank is open yeah?
The bank is open for spending.
THUNDER RUMBLES
Next time on Tempting Fortune...
An ATM, hey?
This is almost like payback.
After I've taken the 10k,
it's definitely going to justify a lot of people taking this money.
This one's tricky, because it comes down to trust.
That was a test, right?
Obviously, some people are up to scratch.
Fuck the lot of them. Fuck 'em, now.
Woo.
Tonight is the night where the vicar goes wild!
