Ireland

it is believed on March the 8th 1702

Anne's father was William Cormac her

mother is only known to have been a

housemaid in her father's home her

father left his wife to travel to the

new world with Anne's mother posing as

his wife shortly after their arrival in

what is now North Carolina North America

Anne's mother died and was considered a

good catch

due to her father making a success of

his merchant business but against her

father's wishes she married James bonny

a poor sailor and small-time pirate

having married without her father's

blessing he disowned them disinherited

her which meant James's hopes of taking

over from her father in his business

were crushed very little is known about

Anthony's education and whether she even

received one it would appear from

evidence there is that Anne Bonny

actually made a fine pirate coupled with

her fierce determination and hot temper

she assembled quite a fortune along the

way she mingled with many pirates in the

Caribbean one of whom was Jack Rackham

otherwise known as Calico Jack some say

she became his mistress others believed

she divorced her husband and married

Jack there is no firm evidence of either

she did however give birth to a child by

recommen Cuba but soon rejoined Jack's

crew and earned her reputation for being

a fierce fighter and it is reported that

she was as accomplished to fighter as

any of her contemporaries and would

befriend another female pirate disguised

as a man aboard Rackham's vessel and

together they became very firm friends

and allies aboard ship the captain and

his crew had been enjoying celebrations

from their recent good fortune when a

British Navy sloop Surprise them the

drunken crew and her captain retreated

below decks leaving only the two women

to defend the ship valiantly they fought

cursing the men below for the cowards

they were trying their best to maintain

control of their ship they were

eventually overtaken by the Navy

captured and transported to Jamaica

where they were all tried and sentenced

to death for their crimes

there were various rumors regarding the

fate of Anne Bonny no official record

was ever found that she was actually put

to death in prison her sentence had been

stayed as she was pregnant it was

commonly thought father was able to use

his substantial influence to secure a

Rams release from prison and took her

home to North Carolina where it is

believed she settled down remarried and

raised more children she died as a

respectable married woman and mother on

April the 22nd 1782 and laid to rest in

the York County churchyard
