Original subtitles

We started using Blender, an animation program, as a drawing program on our 3D printers.

In my previous video, we adjusted the program's scaling settings.

So we converted the unit of length from meters to millimeters.

In this video, we will activate the necessary plugins.

I'm starting the program.

If your schedule doesn't match this, you can also watch my previous video.

First, we will install the CadSketcher application.

You are downloading it from this website.

GitHub CadSketcher.

Here, when you click on Code and then press Downloads, the application downloads directly without any registration.

After downloading the application to your computer, click on Edit and Preferences in the upper left corner.

Here we click on Add-ons.

Since the add-ons are not pre-installed, we will install them here by clicking Install.

CAD Sketcher Main.

Install the add-on.

Here, a warning appeared saying "Install it" for the module.

You wait for about 5 seconds.

It became active on the left.

We're activating this first.

Then we click on the triangle next to it, which is the arrow.

Clicking here will install the latest version, 0.27.2.

There's just one problem here.

This is not a registered module at the moment.

You install this by clicking on the "Install from pip" tab.

This lasts about 15 seconds.

Don't panic if your computer freezes.

Now a warning message will appear at the bottom.

We are now waiting for the warning message.

It lasts about 15 seconds.

Yes, I'm currently receiving the message "Package should be available but cannot be found".

This warning appeared because of this.

There is absolutely no problem.

We're closing it here.

We are closing the program.

We're opening the program again.

Yes, I'm clicking on "General".

Our Sketcher plugin is now active on the right side.

We have activated our Sketcher plugin.

I'll also click on Screencast here so I can activate this extension so you can see which keys I'm pressing.

Our Sketcher plugin is now active.

Now we're going into Edit.

We call it Preferences.

To open the details next to our Sketcher plugin, we click the triangle again.

And our "Solver" module is now registered. To improve the visual appearance,

I'm making a few adjustments within the application. Let's move this to the bottom left corner a bit. Let's click "Add Sketcher".

Here comes our initial plan regarding how we want to work. This is our "work plan size".

I'm keeping the "work plan size" at zero forty. There's no problem there. Now let's open it in a window.

Let me move this up a little bit.

Let's draw an example square.

Let's also make our image a front view.

We chose from the right.

Let's choose the view from the right.

"Entity Scale".

I'm changing that to 1.5.

Look, it's gotten a little thicker.

I'm not changing "Workplane Size".

I'm not changing "Icon Size".

I'm not changing "Text Size".

I'm not touching "Arrow Scale" either.

I'm going to the scaling section below, which is the section for setting the units of length.

This "decimal precision" refers to the number of digits after the decimal point, i.e., the number of digits after the decimal point.

Let's select this unit of length here as well.

Yes.

It has three decimal places after the comma.

We just need to reduce it to one.

Below that is "imperial precision".

This uses inches,

that is, what he means by "imperial"

So, those who use the inch, which is the British unit of measurement.

These are after the comma,

They don't include the number zero.

For example, when it says "half after the decimal point,"

They call it 1/2 inch.

We're not touching this at all.

Because our unit of length is "metric".

Our next tab is "angel precession".

This too,

that is, in angles after the decimal point,

How many decimal places should there be?

I'm leaving this as zero as well.

This is the place called "Show Debug Settings",

This goes into a bit more detail.

We don't need to activate this.

Now we've reached the important point.

To the Theme section.

These lines are in the theme section.

The default section,

Here, I'm selecting from the top right.

I'll do it as 0.5.

The drawings look more appealing to us.

And I'm also bringing the alpha level to the highest level.

Let's make it more obvious.

This way you can follow my drawings more easily.

I'm going to move the "Highlights" section to the bottom, to red. And here, I'm also setting the alpha to the highest level.

What does this mean? It clearly shows which option I want to select.

When I come across something with the mouse, it shows a more distinct way of choosing. It's selective, I said.

"Selected," meaning the selected item, I'll make it a bit lighter, and I can set its alpha to 0.9.

So what does this mean?

Redness after selection.

I'll also move "Selected Highlight" a bit higher.

I can do it this way too.

What color will the selected item turn when the mouse hovers over it?

Now I'll bring the mouse. It's red.

I chose it. The color turned a little pink.

So when I move the mouse cursor, I'll be able to track which ones are selected.

Below that is the "Constraint" section.

That is, where scaling or other processes are involved.

Now we will determine the color of the line here that shows this length distance.

I'm leaving this one in green as well.

So, zero point thirty-three is good.

I can also set the Alpha to 0.8.

It doesn't need to be very obvious.

When I reach the marked length line, it turns pink, so I'll leave this red.

So this will be zero. This will be 0.95, so when I come to the point, you'll clearly see which one I've touched.

Finally, I'll make this "Fixed" adjustment, this central point in the middle.

I'll make it a little more prominent so it's more noticeable to me.

These are my settings in CAD Sketcher.

Now, for the next drawings,

I'm going to activate two extensions that will be very useful for our work.

One of them is,

"Bool tool".

It comes pre-loaded in "Blender".

We are activating this.

Over there on the right,

There were no changes whatsoever.

I'll tell you why in a moment.

We also have a 3D printer attachment.

"3D print toolbox".

We're activating this as well.

This is how I say "save preferences".

And we're recording it.

Now I'll add an object by pressing Shift A. For example, a cube.

Our "3D Print" and "Edit" tabs were activated immediately.

When there is no object present, both attachments disappear here.

However, as soon as you add an object, the plugins become active immediately.

That is, the 3D Print plugin and the Edit Boot Tool plugin.

What I mean is, your program works just like it does on the screen in my program.

Only some things,

You're doing it wrong.

It will be at the beginning,

It's normal to experience problems like this.

until it becomes a habit over a certain period of time,

Which actions should you take in case of which errors?

It will continue like this until they learn.

Our plugins,

Our adjustments are now complete with this video.

Next

In the video, we also do our first drawing.

And we will get our print.

Take care of yourselves. Stay healthy.
