You think you know Las Vegas.
The lights, the action, the sex.
But there's a Vegas you've never seen before.
My Vegas.
My name is Angelica, and I deal in dreams.
And because everyone has a little sin in them, the next dream fulfilled could be
your own.
Jenna Kelly is the executive chef and owner of her own Southern-style
restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I mean, from a business standpoint, Jenna's a success story.
At 18, she left her mother's trailer with a pot and ladle in her hand.
And over the next few years, she made a real name for herself, working in some
of the best kitchens in the state.
And then along came Tony, a regular.
He loved Jenna's cooking. I mean, he loved her so much, he talked her into
opening her own place.
He even found somebody to finance her.
But that's not the reason she fell for him, moved in with him, and accepted his
engagement ring.
She said it was the way he kissed.
Apparently Jenna wasn't the only dish on the menu Tony liked.
Turns out he had a thing for waitresses too.
Thank you.
Well one day Jenna comes home early from some cooking event And guess what?
Tony wasn't alone
So what's the big deal?
She got burned by a man.
We all do at some point. Look, Sash, I mean, not all guys are creeps, you know.
I mean, some do like to live honorably.
Maybe too honorably.
I practice restraint.
Practice restraint?
What does that mean?
How do you practice not having sex?
All right, what happened after she saw Tony with the waitress?
Tony had moved to the back burner.
Jenna hasn't had a relationship with a guy in like three years since. Huh. The
old practicing restraints routine.
Look, she has some serious trust issues, right? This woman is not letting anybody
close to her.
Sounds like she needs a good shrink.
Been there, done that.
Jenna lands in about two hours. She's going to be a finalist in the Sensitive
Gourmet Challenge.
Let me guess.
Her fantasy is to win. Sasha, if you were a chef, would you want to win your
own restaurant?
Actually, no.
Her fantasy is to get over Tony so she can actually move on with her life.
So, are you here because you cook or because you eat?
Eat. I mean, don't get me wrong.
I'm a mac and cheese guy at heart, but from time to time, I do like, you know,
an occasional protein shake.
What about you? Obviously.
Oh, I cook mostly. Really? I'm one of the three finalists.
But I am always up for a good protein shake.
I'm thinking your restraint could use a little more practice.
I'm still dressed, aren't I?
Let me guess.
You want a protein shake, too.
What?
Jenna?
Nicholas!
Hi. Hi.
I didn't know you were in the finals.
I got lucky. The guy from Seattle had to drop out.
How have you been?
Good. Well, you know, busy.
The restaurant's pretty demanding.
And you?
Alexios keeps me flying by the seat of my pants. But I could be busier, which I
expect to be after I win this thing.
Hold on now. You forget you're going up against me.
There is nothing I would like more.
Looks like Jenna has a friend.
I guess.
Here's the scoop.
This guy's name's Nicholas Cavalla. He's the head chef at Alexios in Chicago.
Now, according to Jenna's best friend, they had this long-distance...
platonic thing right but he wanted something more serious she completely
panicked and uh it went their separate ways so you look really good so do you
it's great to see you again nicholas there you are i lost you somewhere
between the empanadas and the foie gras and i have to say the gra is not great
hi i'm margot bella poke new york jenna gumbo baton rouge
Looks like we have one too many chefs in the kitchen. This is supposed to be a
friendly competition.
There is nothing friendly about winning and losing.
Now, come on, Nico.
I want to find someone really yummy to eat.
Uh, I'll see you later.
Good luck.
Hey, you look like you could use a glass of wine.
Or two.
I don't know if I can do this, Angelica.
Yes, you can.
And you will. Just trust me. It's all going to work out in the end.
It's going to be fine.
Nice kitchen, don't you think?
It's shiny.
I think I still prefer my 1951 Merritt and O'Keeffe.
She likes you.
Who, Jenna?
Yeah, the little chef from down south.
She was looking you over like a big piece of sweet potato pie.
No way, we're just friends. The only thing she loves is her restaurant.
Mine's open for business.
I think you might enjoy what I have on the menu.
Oh!
Welcome to the fifth annual Sin City Gourmet Challenge, where our three
regional finalists are competing to see who can create the best appetizer, main
course, and dessert.
The winner then gets to put their name on a new fabulous Las Vegas restaurant.
For my appetizer, I'll be making a stone crab salad with artichoke, apple, and
passion fruit chalet.
Then take a half of a lime generously drizzled over the scalloped ceviche.
which I'll be serving with a cool cucumber soup and crab salad.
All right, so after we dress up this chorizo, it'll be time to really turn up
the heat.
You mix that all together.
With your best silver spoon. In a whipping motion like this.
But not too rigorously.
You don't want to burn anything.
Great dish.
Really had my mouth watering.
Can I join you?
Sure.
Yeah, yours is pretty interesting, too.
That key lime glaze?
That was a nice touch.
You would have thought of that. Or maybe even something better, like one of your
weird orange ginger yogurt dressings.
Or maybe a mango picante with scallions or dried mustard.
We'll just let the judges decide.
I don't really care what the judges have to say.
That's not why I came to Vegas.
No?
I knew you were gonna be here.
That's all the incentive I needed to hop on a plane.
Hey. Hi.
Oh, I remember you.
Mac and cheese expert from the party. That's me. That's me. The towel.
It's dirty. My towel? Yeah, yeah. I saw someone stepped on it.
Oh, really? It came out of the bathroom. It didn't have shoes on. Uh-huh.
Probably going to want it. I can show them.
It's in the towel room right here. It's not a towel room.
I mean, towel basket. There was a...
I'm telling you, there was a basket of towels here. Go ahead. It's probably in
the cave because it's cool in there. I don't know.
Keep it cool.
Jenna?
Nico seems like a decent enough guy, Jenna.
You okay?
How do you know you can trust him?
He is a guy.
Are you okay?
I lost you there for a second.
What's wrong?
I'm sorry.
I can't do this.
I'm sorry.
It wouldn't be fair to Margo either.
Where have all the towels gone? I think you are so full of shit, Matthew.
I'm full of shit? You're full of shit. There was nothing wrong with my town. I
think you lured me in here under false pretenses.
No, I'm telling you right now. There was a basket of towels in here. Trust me.
I've been in here before, okay? You've been watching me.
You've been wanting to get me alone just so you could hit on me. No.
No. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Look.
Take a look at me, honestly.
Do I look like the kind of guy that can go around banging any girl you want?
You are a man.
And you have certain needs.
I'm a woman.
I have them, too.
And you don't have to be embarrassed.
I don't? Mm-mm.
Fuck it.
I think I don't. I thought you were so hot when I saw you at that party.
Yeah. Oh.
Oh.
Oh. Yeah.
Oh. Oh.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.
That's it, that's it.
You like that?
That's it.
That's it.
That's it. Shut up.
Yeah, you shut up.
Yeah, shut up already.
No, no, really shut up. No, no, no.
Shut the fuck up.
You don't listen, do you?
You listen to your teachers in school?
Ooh, you want to be my teacher? Yeah, I was in a bad girl. Why don't you listen
to me? Be quiet.
Don't tell, boy.
Be quiet.
How's that, Bill?
That's good.
You're good?
Mm-hmm.
Shh. Be quiet.
I'm working on it.
Damn it.
Shut up.
Shh. Don't say anything.
Don't say anything.
Don't tell me you like this, too. Oh, shit.
Double scotch, straight up.
How big?
Pretty good one, actually.
Can I tell you something?
I just have the most amazing sex of my life with that guy who hands out the
towels.
Look at my arm. It's goosebumps.
After our two preliminary rounds, we are finally getting down to our favorite
part, dessert, where our food critic will decide which one of these three
great chefs will get to put their name on their very own Las Vegas restaurant.
Start with a tall, elegantly shaped, long-stemmed poaching pair.
You mix your nuts and the cinnamon, sprinkle that over the top, cook for 20
minutes.
Soaking them in a sweet Cointreau mixture.
that will bring out their natural, succulent flavors.
And you're ready to go. Make sure the oven's set for 350.
Spooning the warm chocolate sauce over the pears.
Until the whipped cream becomes stiff.
C'est marveilleux. Bon appétit.
Come on, Nico.
We've got to be back to serve dessert in 20 minutes. We don't have time for this.
Oh, I just want to have a cigarette. You know how I hate to smoke alone.
Oh, I thought you were referring to something else.
Oh, I could show you some of that, too.
No.
Wait, this isn't right.
It was the other day.
That was before I realized I still have feelings for someone else.
I knew it. The two of you are more than just friends.
It could be.
But I gotta figure that out.
Oops.
What do I do now?
Nothing. Why are you looking at me like that? You're staring right through me.
There is just something different about you today.
You're glowing.
Oh, really?
Well, take a picture, Josh, because you're making me a little uncomfortable,
okay?
According to Margot, you were not so uncomfortable yesterday at the pool.
Really? Towel boy.
Look, I never kiss and tell stuff.
Kiss and tell?
Yeah. I don't go kiss somebody and go yap about it to all my friends.
It's not polite.
All right.
Then I'm not gonna tell either.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hey.
Get back on the phone.
We have a winner You
are
a worthy opponent
Yeah, so are you.
You want a sandwich?
The thought of food after eight hours behind a hot stove doesn't exactly whet
my appetite.
No?
What does whet your appetite?
Lovely little chef from southern Louisiana came to Las Vegas to win a
restaurant. Came away in a two-way tie.
Whoever said there was too many chefs in the kitchen, that was clearly wrong.
I'm so glad you came to Las Vegas with ulterior motives.
They were never ulterior.
Trust me.
Love is like cooking.
At one point or another, everyone is bound to get burned.
But with so many dishes to try, it's always worth taking another bite.
And anyway, what are you gonna do?
Girl's gotta eat.
You turn me on Turn me on
You turn me on
