[30-second summary] How did you feel after reading the script?
[Super introvert Young Kwang]
How about you, Young Kwang?
[Do Youn tries to get him to start talking] How about you, Young Kwang?
[And Nam Gil is... just talkative] Young Kwang...
[He even mastered mind-reading!] He doesn't react that much.
I go like, "He's got something."
Maybe he's even-tempered?
- Okay! This is the last question. - The last?
[Sulks] Why are your lips like that?
[Do you still have a lot to talk about, Nam Gil?] There's still a lot to talk about.
There's no way.
[Relief]
[Nam Gil's here, let's party!] Where did you learn how to do this? Don't.
[Jang Do Youn's Salon Drip2]
[20 minutes before shooting...]
Hehehe.
[Nam Gil's voice coming from somewhere]
I can't miss the chance to say hi.
[We rushed to turn on the camera]
I thought you meant
[Nam Gil talking with TEO PDs] you were going to catch the show afterwards.
Don't.
You're amazing at talking on shows.
I'm not. I forgot how to do that.
You?
[How about Young Kwang?]
[Sniff]
[Only the sound of breathing in the waiting room]
[Talk share revealed You're looking forward to it, right?]
[Participant talk share / Nam Gil 53.4% Do Youn 34.9% Young Kwang 11.6%]
[Bows]
From culture, art, philosophy
to back-talking and rumors!
Those who want to get chatty, come on over!
This is Salon Drip2!
Today we're joined by
two stars fully loaded with everything from action to romance.
Actors sniping straight at your heart.
[Heart-sniper Kim Nam Gil & Kim Young Kwang] Please welcome Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang.
[Walking in noir]
I've never had to walk down such a long hallway like this before.
[The aura of two 190cm towers]
Wow.
They're so tall that they're sliding in so fast like horror movie ghosts.
[Strides on another level]
- Welcome. - Hello, nice to meet you.
[Bows]
[Bows again]
[And once again] You guys are so tall.
[Welcome drink] Before taking your seats
I have some drinks prepared.
Pick one for me, Young Kwang.
Oh, 17 Tea! It's been a while!
[He just asked him to pick one for him]
You just asked him to pick your drink
[And he listened] and then you changed your mind...
[Happy]
- You can use a mug for that drink. - Okay.
Our staff members said that
they noticed a huge difference between you two while you guys were waiting earlier.
You were talking to the crew
as if you're already a member of TEO
and you, Young Kwang, stayed quietly in your waiting room
[Breathing talker] while there were
[Young Kwang was vibing alone in the crowd] so many people outside.
Turns out I know quite a few people at TEO.
Some of them I've even done variety shows with before...
- PD Jong Yeon? - Yeah, PD Jong Yeon as well.
And there are also other PDs.
It's been a long time since we met, so I was busy saying hi.
Hmm.
Then are you
[One-on-one talk vs group talk] more comfortable with a one-on-one conversation?
Or with a group conversation? Both of you.
I think I'm more comfortable with a one-on-one conversation.
If I have to be with people I've never met before, it's a bit difficult for me...
Right!
[It takes a little while for an introvert] Once you get close to him, he's talkative.
But after meeting like four or five times.
- I'm fine either way... - Even if it's a stranger?
Whether it's a stranger or someone I've known for a long time...
The shape of your mouth when you say it
it's kinda annoying.
[Elegant mouth] Because you said it so elegantly.
[Sassy]
- Haha. - Haha!
Why are you so sassy?
[LOL] I wanna do this so bad, I can't help it.
[You] Like this.
[Such a sassy actor] I've never felt anything like this before.
[LOL] I did a brief
research and
found out that you had a five-hour-long meet-and-greet.
- For 310 minutes... - Yeah, five hours and ten minutes.
Are you planning to do so today as well?
I can do that.
[Wow]
[Terrified] We can order lunch here.
When I tell people that I had such a long meet-and-greet
Ji Hoon told me
"If you want to talk in front of that many people
you have to feed them first."
[So no talking from now on?] After hearing him say it
I thought I should order lunch and also make an intermission...
[This is what Nam Gil thinks] To make it longer.
So I said "Thanks, Ji Hoon."
Do your fans know that it's five-hours-long?
Or does it just happen while talking?
They're aware of the fact that it'll be long...
But teenagers tend to come with their mothers
[They wait for their daughters] and they wait outside.
They ask me
"Nam Gil
you did not kidnap my daughter, did you?"
[This is a real story] I can understand. It's about time.
[Nam Gil, could I have my daughter back?] Is it going to end ever?
Usually it's the opposite.
The fans are like, "Let's do more!"
[Celebrity: Sorry...] And the celebs leave like this.
But in this case, fans leave like this.
[Nam Gil: I'll do more / Fans: Okay, I'm going home]
When it's over, I think to myself
[Nam Gil's imagination] "I'll come back there if they ask for an encore."
But then they just leave right away.
[Reality / They want to go home now] They're gone.
Yeah.
[He's the only one who wants more...] So the staff members tell me
that the fans are leaving.
[Guilty: Fans held hostage for 310 mins] 310 minutes, that's more than enough.
[Horrifying sentence: "See you again"] I think so.
[Nam Gil, Young Kwang] Have you guys known each other already?
Yeah, we have!
- We've met once. - We've eaten together!
We have a mutual friend and he introduced him to me.
[Meal with a mutual friend] So we ate together, yeah.
Did you guys get close fast?
I didn't talk much but he did...
I was the only one talking.
[Imaginable first meeting] We ate together and
I was like, "Call me, Young Kwang" and he was like, "I will, bye."
That friend of mine once asked me "Will you come over here for a sec?"
So I asked him, "Why?"
He was like, "I'm with Nam Gil right now."
- You have a good memory! - So I wanted to meet him...
- So you went there, huh? - I couldn't believe it.
It was like seeing a celebrity...
[Shy] Celebrity.
[Sassy]
I don't know everything about Young Kwang, but
if an introvert like him
[An introvert] took the courage to meet someone
[agrees to meet a stranger?] because he wanted to, that's something.
[It means he really wanted to meet him!] Right, I know.
[Strong agreement] It should be like
- "Oh, I definitely want to see him." - Right...
After seeing him that day I didn't tell him directly
but I told a friend of mine
"I met with Nam Gil yesterday."
I think he was working on The Shameless
at that time.
His character is so cool in that movie.
- Really? - What's he like?
"The guy from The Shameless, what's he like?"
[Well]
["He's... funny..."] I just tell people that he's funny.
[He's a bit different from when he's doing his job...]
- The way he talks is funny. - Yeah.
[You get that a lot] I think a lot of people will tell you
[right?] that you're different from your characters.
They do. Most of my characters don't talk that much...
- Yes... - Right.
Those are the characters I used to do a lot.
- In the past, there were even more... - Right.
There were more scary characters in the past.
Intimidating ones.
There are times where I really want to play those roles.
Which phase are you in right now?
Now, I just want to do anything.
I just want to give my everything...
How about you, Young Kwang?
You've been in a lot of genre films.
I've been doing genre films for too long now...
[He talks even less] And it makes me talk even less
even though I'm not that talkative.
After like two more genre films you might go totally quiet...
[Hehe] Hahaha.
No, normally I don't talk that much...
[Crowd mumbling] Yeah, that's your character.
They're saying that
[Checking Young Kwang's mic] they need to check Young Kwang's mic.
[Meanwhile Nam Gil...]
[Do Youn's Omija]
[Nam Gil's tea]
[Hehe...]
[Pouring] On which show
- Oh, god! - were you working with PD Jong Yeon?
I'm sorry...
- Why are you drinking mine? - Haha! I'm sorry.
[Skit ON] Oh, hey!
[LOL] I'm sorry, I didn't realize.
- I didn't mean to - Why are you drinking my Omija?
I'm sorry, I really am.
You can have some of mine.
Forget it, I don't want to!
[NEW comedian duo] I only poured a little, so it won't matter.
It'll taste bad, won't it?
[Young Kwang is done checking his mic] It's okay, I only poured a little. I was shocked.
It's fine, I'm just worried it might taste bad. There's a cup.
[Staff member telling something to Do Youn]
[Holding back laughter]
Could I tell you something bizarre?
Our audio director checked the mic just now.
[When do they check the mic?] 1. If the mic rubs against clothing
2. or isn't picking up sound properly.
But there was nothing wrong with the mic...
- It's just because he wasn't talking... - Hahaha.
[Audio director] "Huh? Nothing's wrong..."
"Why am I only hearing Nam Gil's voice?"
[When they're talking] No way.
[Decibel difference...] His lips are moving.
[A minute ago... / What?] "Why isn't he talking?"
[Confused] "Wait. His lips aren't moving."
I've never seen something like this happening before.
[Let's keep going] Shall we talk about the movie?
- Shoot the questions, Do Youn. - About the movie? Okay.
What's Trigger like?
[You go ahead]
Trigger is about...
[Flinch]
What would happen if guns were allowed...
- In Korea? - Yes...
It's about that...
[Oh... And?] It's a drama.
[Nervous]
In the past, Korea was labeled a "drug-free nation"
and similarly, a "gun-free nation."
It's illegal to possess firearms in Korea.
Right.
[Audio savior] It's not allowed in Korea.
And as Young Kwang already explained
This is a story about how Korean society might change
[How will it change] if firearms became accessible
[once firearms are allowed?] and people could have them.
Every person has
their own trigger in their mind.
Have you seen something like this before?
[Nam Gil plays the role of Ido] My character is a policeman and against gun
[who uses a gun to protect justice] possession, so I try to stop it from happening.
In South Korea, random assaults and murders are on the rise...
[Guns delivered to South Korea]
[Young Kwang plays Moon Back, the mystery helper] And Young Kwang witnesses all that
from outside.
Aren't you curious?
[He's talking inside] It's about social phenomenon
[Trigger] that comes out of it.
I'm sure you already thought about it after reading the script.
[What if I have a gun?] If you have a gun
and you're allowed one shot.
In our imagination
[Let's imagine] it could be a weapon
[It could be a form of power] and also something that represents power.
Right, if you pull it out as a threat.
If you're allowed one shot, what would you do?
That one shot...
I'd probably save it.
[Agrees] I should save it.
So you don't have
anyone that you want to shoot yet, huh?
I think I can sabotage that person without a gun.
[Words are stronger than a gun...] I don't need a gun.
I could just use my words.
Fortunately, there's no one I want to shoot yet.
But that one shot
I could save it for myself, for self-defense.
That's interesting that you mentioned self-defense
because it means others also have guns.
Yeah, that's what's interesting about this setting.
[Guns delivered like parcels] I have it
[Trigger of confusion] but others have it as well.
[It triggers something] And it triggers something in people's minds.
[He wanted to say this] When people hear the title Trigger
they think
[Action with intense suspense!] it's just an action movie.
It's about psychology.
A lot of people say that
people are so angry and impatient these days.
[Horrible] And if they have a gun in their hand...
If you look at the countries where guns are allowed
there are a lot of shooting incidents.
Reading the script, I thought...
Even though it's impossible in Korea
[It might already be happening in other countries] something can already be happening somewhere.
Thinking about that
I started to wonder
how victims of such unfortunate incidents
would react to this drama.
In a way
[Worried if it might be a second victimization] it could be a second victimization.
Because they're already hurt from what happened
[The drama deals with something] and they have to relive it
[that can actually be happening in real life] watching this drama.
So when we were filming
we tried not to include any violent scene.
How did you feel after reading the script, Young Kwang?
[Young Kwang's character] My character asks questions rather than answering.
Oh...
So...
[Looks at Nam Gil]
His character Moon Baek has...
a dark past...
I should stop right here.
I should stop talking or else I'll reveal his identity.
My character, yes...
[No spoilers] We can't talk about it, it'll be a spoiler.
Let's just say he has a dark past.
Is this okay if I say this?
He has pain, everyone has pain from the past, right?
He has pain and
in a way...
Uh...
There's nothing I can say about your character!
- I realized while talking. - Yeah, in my case...
I'm so curious.
I love to talk and yet I can't say anything!
It's torture...
It's such a torture for me...
If it's already released
[Totally agrees] then there will be so much to talk about.
Then it'll take 310 minutes.
Right...
It would've been so bad...
We would've ordered our meals.
So everything you can say about the drama is that it's a gun disaster action.
[Staring] Yeah, gun disaster action.
I'm sorry to interrupt, but...
Are those TEO slippers?
[Over here somewhere / He has good eyes...]
[Sassy] You're so distracted.
I can see them from here you know? I can see them.
[TEO slippers] Right.
Could I purchase them somewhere?
- Do you want them? - Oh, yes. They're cute...
Do you like that kind of merch?
I do!
[Taking something out]
- How about this? - Oh, my!
[17.4cm mini Do Youn] This isn't for sale.
Hahaha.
[Nam Gil's impulsive thought] Hey!
I mean, it's too long.
[Skit ON] What are you doing?
People do this to tall people like us, you know that.
Haha.
I'm sorry.
Where did you... Is this real?
It's one-tenth my height.
Oh, my goodness.
[He puts it on immediately]
Are you going to put it on that expensive shirt?
[Satisfied]
You're probably not interested at all, Young Kwang, right?
- Do you want one? - No, I'm fine.
Let's give you one!
[Loud] No, I'm good...
[Tada] You don't want it?
Oh! Why do you have two of them?
[His loudest voice so far]
What?
[Translation] Why do you have two?
Why do I have two?
[Eyes fixated on the keychain]
[Reaching out, as if he's hypnotized] It's almost like you've seen a ghost.
- You don't have to use it. - Thank you...
[Staring]
Wow...
He might've put it down by now.
I know, I'm so thankful.
Shall we go back to Trigger?
[These two are well-known for their action skills] You two are both
well-known for your brilliant action skills.
[The driving force for tough action] Even if you think something is not doable
which phrase makes you change your mind and make you go, "Let's do it"?
One of our stunt coordinators
[Myeong Haeng / Nam Gil] Myeong Haeng used to do that.
We're supposed to use a stunt double but sometimes he provokes us
to take on the challenge!
[Heavy breathing as a sign of agreement] "It goes like this.
Can you do it?" If he'd ask me like this
the answer would be yes or no.
[Stunt coordinator] "Nam Gil, can you do it?"
Than I have to think about it for a couple of seconds, because it's dangerous and difficult.
If I go, "Umm..."
He'd be like, "Okay, stunt double it is!"
"Wait a second, I haven't answered yet."
"No, we'll use a stunt double for this. Take some rest."
"Stunt double it is."
[Sudden passion] "No, I'll do it!"
He'd be like, "No, it's too dangerous and difficult."
And it provokes me...
Sometimes he maximizes it
and I become so enthusiastic!
[Eager to do some action] I go like, "I'll do every action scene myself."
Sometimes he makes this happen.
[Stunt coordinator's way of working it Nam Gil] In a way, he knows how to handle you.
Right.
What about you, Young Kwang?
I don't have that many stunt doubles...
Because there is no one that looks like him.
- Most of them... - Because of your shape?
[Hard to find a stunt double because of his shape] There are not many tall stunt doubles.
So if we use a stunt double it's easily noticeable that it's not him.
[So he did almost every action scene himself!] So, I had to do everything myself in the end.
Then there's no difference between provoking you or cheering you up.
Provoking you might only make you feel annoyed.
- I have to do it anyway... - It'll only make you feel annoyed.
You seem so even-tempered...
I've never seen him get upset or anything.
Even on the set
[Stays calm even in rage-worthy situations] Even in rage-worthy situations, he stays calm.
I even misunderstood him.
["Is Young Kwang happy?"] I thought he was happy, because he didn't get mad.
[Umm] Right?
That's how calm he is.
Really?
[He doesn't show his anger] I don't talk about my anger with anyone.
I envy that.
[In a rage-worthy situation] When we talk about
a situation that makes us upset
I'd be like
[Angry] like this.
[Well...] He'd be like, "I think... In that case..."
[Suddenly became a smooth talker] If he gets upset and talkative
we can't go home then...
[Controlling his anger to go home] Is that why you suppress your anger?
- That was the secret. - He just lets it go...
Because I want to go home...
You're clever.
[Sip]
As time passes, I get a hint of alcohol in the smell when I drink it.
- Were you drinking yesterday? - No.
[He mixed Omija with tea...]
I'm not good at drinking alcohol but people often ask me
"Did you drink a lot?"
[Refill]
Oh, you're drinking a lot. You'll need to go the bathroom...
- I don't do that a lot. - Ah, um!
[Dang ding] You're so proud of that.
You finished it.
[Wiggle] You finished all that.
- Do you want more? - We have more.
Please.
[Stands up]
[He's so tall, it takes a long time to stand up] Go ahead.
Wow, he's tall.
[It looks like a toy refrigerator next to him] He even got taller.
I was so surprised when I met Young Kwang for the first time.
I have some
[He even opened it for him] friends who worked as models.
But Young Kwang is the tallest among them.
Really? May I ask how tall you are?
I'm 190cm.
[10cm minus 2m 190cm!]
I think I'm kind of tall as well, but when I'm with him I have to look up at him.
- May I ask how tall you are? - 184cm.
You guys are both so tall.
Who's taller, you or Ji Hoon?
- You, right? - I am!
Right?
Ju Ji Hoon is also very tall. If you three walk together...
Ji Hoon is 187cm, right?
I don't know the exact number.
[He's not interested in other people's heights...] I'm sorry, you're not interested.
I'm sorry, Ji Hoon.
[Back to being sassy]
You know, genre films tend to
build tension.
[A moment where it's all in the eyes] Where the characters just stare eagerly
or something like that.
How do you guys coordinate that?
Do you guys do any rehearsals beforehand?
[When they both are in the same scene] If we're in a scene together
[they can look at each other and practice] we're facing each other
so it's the best when we're in the same shot.
This is the hard part.
[TAKE#1 Nam Gil found something important] For example, let's say I found something.
When we're surprised
[Uh...] we act like this, surprised, right?
But then
[Acting surprised] I was surprised like this.
And the director goes, "Cut..."
[Acting surprised] Nam Gil.
[Direction] I think you need to act more surprised...
Uh! But I am surprised.
So that people can notice that you are surprised!
Oh, okay!
[Second attempt] "Let's go again," and I'm surprised.
[Inside acting]
"Cut."
[It's not enough] Nam Gil, we need more surprise.
So, in the end, I go like this.
[Eyes wide open]
[It's clear and obvious that he's surprised] And then the director's satisfied.
"Okay! Next scene."
This was the hard part.
[Expressing emotions only with facial expressions] You need to act without words.
[Acting like falling in love] And there are times where you have to act like
- you're falling in love. Do you feel embarrassed? - Yeah! That's also hard.
[Agrees] Falling in love at first sight.
[TAKE#2 Nam Gil fell in love at first sight] Even if we fall in love at first sight
[Even though it's really happening in real life] you like that person
[you just look at that person one more time] so you just look at that person one more time.
"People need to know that you fell in love."
[Everyone needs to know...]
So that everyone could go, "He's in love."
Then I would
try literally anything.
I close my mouth...
And then open it again...
[Wow]
[His effort to convey emotions] I can open my eyes wide open.
[Even more curious listening to his stories] That was the hard part, really.
What do you guys talk about mostly on set?
- Health? - Not about work, but health.
When I'm struggling, Young Kwang would say
"Go get an IV or something..."
And as we keep shooting
[Young Kwang shares skin care tips] all that makeup makes our skin tired.
So he would give me some tips on skin care.
Oh, skin care tips? Like what?
His skin has noticeable redness.
Soon I might become like Jeong Min.
Hwang Jeong Min?
- He's the reddest guy. - Like an apple.
Nam Gil doesn't even drink a lot... So I recommended
[Young Kwang's go-to face mask] a face mask that I was using.
And I'm also
interested in health care.
Right.
I also take my supplements very seriously.
What kind of supplements do you take?
Well...
I think I take about 20 of them.
- 20? - Yes.
[Feeling shy somehow]
Wow, really?
Glutathione
onion extract
which reduces inflammation
with turmeric inside.
And many people take Milk Thistle, right?
There's something called Silymarin
that helps
[Sudden awkwardness] improve your liver.
[So I take... Silymarin...] So I take Silymarin directly.
[Innocent muggles] That's why you're so healthy.
I hardly ever take those supplements.
Why not?
I don't notice any difference.
Except when I take vitamin C sometimes when I'm tired.
I heard probiotics are a must!
[Um] I don't take probiotics, either.
[Different personality, different lifestyle] I don't take probiotics, but
I eat Nattō time to time.
That's good!
On your day off, what do you guys do?
- I go out and ride my motorcycle. - Bike?
[Nam Gil's well-known love for his motorcycle] It's one of my hobbies that I'm into these days.
The perception of motorcycles isn't that great in our country.
They look dangerous.
So people don't want me to ride it.
Since it's dangerous.
That happens a lot, so...
There's a group of "outsiders" who ride together...
- I bet the members become super close. - So we're all like
[Sad eyes] "Do you ride, too?"
"I ride, too..."
Sad eyes.
[The sense of belonging under the helmet] We say things like, "Safe ride."
Right, safety matters.
[How about Young Kwang?] Nam Gil rides, and what do you do, Young Kwang?
I just lie in bed or...
[Two extremes]
Or work out and sit down a bit...
Sit down?
Like this?
[Sitting still]
[Hilarious] Sometimes after waking up
- I just sit there like that for a while. - Haha, you look so happy.
[Young Kwang's day off 1. lying down 2. sitting] Just doing nothing?
[Empathy king] Right, sometimes you need that.
- Just doing nothing. - May I ask...
Have you ever gone a whole day without saying a single word?
I don't think so.
Because I have cats at home!
So I talk to the cats.
[Tam-tam / Moon, Baek] Right, since we both have cats
[Both have cats] we sometimes end up bragging about them.
But people misunderstand that and think that cats are easy to raise
for people living alone because they don't get lonely
[Common misunderstandings about cats] and don't need much care.
[Cats don't get lonely] A lot of people think so.
But cats are just like dogs!
Cats need so much care
and they also sulk and get lonely.
[Agrees] When I'm away for like
[After Nam Gil's work trip for a week] a week or something for work?
Then my cat acts totally differently when I come home.
Does it sulk?
At first it's lying on the ground like this.
And when I say "I'm home" it looks at me like this and...
[Looks away...]
[The cat is not happy] It's not a happy gaze, it looks away.
And it takes twice as long to make up with my cat after it sulks.
"Come here, Tam-tam."
["You come here"] The distance is this much, it still won't come.
I'm training my cat to come to my hand when I reach it out.
And that's so moving...
When it comes to you?
I should stop there, but I become too greedy
and go, "Hello, kitty?" And when I hold its head, it refuses it.
[Nope] Like this.
[You're so adorable] Even if I hug my cat and do this
[Never cross the line] it pushes me away.
What are your cats called, Young Kwang?
They're called Moon and Baek.
[Became family while shooting Trigger] When we started shooting Trigger
that's when we became a family.
[Came from Young Kwang's character's name] My character's name is Moon Baek, so that's why.
You really love your work.
That's right. I didn't realize.
It would be like naming my cats Salon and Drip.
I won't do that.
[So glad his name is Moon Baek...] Salon, Drip.
Then how do you call them?
- Moon and Baek... - Separately.
That's not Moon, it says tower.
Sorry.
[Sassy] I heard that
[Nam Gil is friendly towards his colleagues] you call the other actors by name
not by surname.
[Right]
I did the same with Jae Seok when we ran into each other.
"Hi, Jae Seok."
- "Hi, Nam Gil." - When I go
"Hi, Do Youn" even though we've never met
some people don't say it back.
[Sudden friendliness] But when they do, "Oh, hi?"
And then I walk away
[What was that?] they look back at me.
[Subtle approaching strategy] What's that?
"Have we met somewhere?"
But some people are not happy about this.
I know someone at a production company.
You know Joo Jin mo, right?
He played the role as a father on "Goodbye Solo."
I was younger back then, so I wanted to be friendly around him
and called him Jin Mo.
[They met again after a long time] After a long time
we met again.
I was so happy to see him again
so I went, "Jin Mo!"
And he was like, "Nam Gil, it's been a long time."
I kept calling him Jin Mo and people wanted to talk to me on the side.
"Are you crazy, calling him by his name?"
"Do you know how old he is?"
To be honest, I didn't know
[Innocent] how old he was.
But...
[He's 22 years older than Nam Gil He was born in 1958...]
He's so irresponsible.
But look...
I called him Jin Mo and he called me Nam Gil.
This comes with a side effect. When you call people by their names
you keep doing that even at home.
I call my aunts by their names.
[He got used to it] It became a habit, so you have to be careful.
"She's my aunt..."
"These people are my family members..."
What on earth is that?
[He needs to hypnotize himself] I got so used to calling people by their names.
If I spend a lot of time outside
I keep doing that subconsciously when I go home.
Is it just me?
[Well]
I think it's just you.
Do you guys participate in any social meetings?
[Shakes head] Do you?
No.
[He shook his head almost 300 times a second]
Why don't you try
- gathering all the introverts - Not talking?
[Introvert gathering?] without forcing anything?
There will be
[Introvert members] Kim Young Kwang
and Uhm Tae Goo.
[Silence for at least three hours] I'm sure there'll be at least three hours
of silence.
How about team dinners?
[He's interested] Do you enjoy them?
- Do you like team dinners? - Yes...
He enjoys drinking.
Because I like drinking.
I like those serious talks we have while drinking.
When we're shooting something
we tend to talk about that or the characters
or about Nam Gil.
Then how about a team dinner without alcohol?
[Not interested...]
I like it.
I don't really...
- If we don't drink - You like it without alcohol.
[Nam Gil's not good at drinking] we can hang out longer.
There are people who get more talkative when they drink.
If you enjoyed drinking
- that must've been a disaster. - You don't say.
[Relief] Right.
[Talkative friend vs. friend who listens] Do you prefer
a friend who's talkative than you or...
Wait, I'm asking the wrong question.
Have you ever met anyone that's more talkative than you?
- Of course. - Really?
Where?
Joo Ji Hoon as well...
He is overly talkative.
If I'm with him
I don't get to say a word.
To put it casually I would say Ji Hoon is a bit too much.
[Joo Ji Hoon thinks] And he really likes to
[Nam Gil is the one who's too much] start things like that.
[We hope you guys could reach an amicable agreement....]
I also heard that
[Nam Gil is running an NGO] You're running an NGO at the moment.
I am.
- That's so cool. - It's not.
[From NGO to nonprofit foundation] I want to change the status to a foundation.
So I'm going through those procedures.
[There must be a lot of difficulties] It won't be easy to take those steps.
With a lot of troubles, right?
But if you think about it
it's closely related to our daily lives.
It's the same with Trigger as well.
[He learns things from the characters he plays] I learn things from my characters.
For example
if it's about youth preparing for independence
I become interested in that character and those people.
[It starts as an interest and grows] It grows over time.
It doesn't just end as something that happened on set.
As performing artists I think we're offering comfort
[Offering comfort] in the ways we can
and helping in different forms.
So that's why you held a charity concert as a form of donation?
[Nam Gil held a charity concert "SMG SHOW"] Right.
Winter is the coldest season.
[Talent donations turned into real donations] People purchase the tickets for the show
and the money is donated.
[Hwang Je Seong] Je Seong has been
[has been the MC of SMG Show] the MC of SMG Show ever since.
- "SMG Show." - That's right.
There are
[22 actors including Yoo Hai Jin, Cha Seung Won] many actors
[Fancy lineup] that you've worked with.
How's the casting going? Easy?
Sometimes
I don't tell them about the event and just tell them "Meet me here on this day."
Because if I tell them about it...
"What do you on this day?"
"Nothing."
- "Really? Then let's have a meal." - "Okay."
[Come to Grand Peace Hall] And then I tell them to come to Grand Peace Hall.
[Grand Peace Hall?] They're like, "That's strange..."
[Perfect strategy / Nam Gil's casting secret] That's an idea.
I explain to them in advance when we're shooting together.
I explain to them the purpose and ask, "Could you help?"
[They're happy to help] And all of them are happy to help.
Yeah, they want to be a part of it.
This year, it's Young Kwang's turn...
[He's already nervous] Or maybe I could call some of
his close friends.
Does someone ever invite you to a special occasion?
- Actually, yeah. - Who?
Choo Sung Hoon!
He just calls me out of nowhere.
"Yeah, um, where are you?"
[Choo Sung Hoon impression] "I'm in Korea."
And I'm like, "So?"
"Come out, how about dinner?"
He doesn't hide the place we meet he doesn't tell me who else is coming.
Just like director Jang Hang Joon!
- Really? - Yes.
I thought there would be just the two of us Sung Hoon and me.
And there were multiple sets of cutlery
[So many sets] on the restaurant table.
I always wonder, "Who else is coming?"
[Haha] And Sung Hoon shows up late.
His workout friends keep coming
["Are you here because of Sung Hoon as well?"] and ask me, "Are you here because of Sung Hoon?"
[After saying hi awkwardly] "Yes, I am."
I talk a lot, but...
[Awkward]
[Two introverts understand him] What are you going to talk about? You just met.
That happened multiple times.
[But he gets fooled every time] "Let's meet at this time."
"Okay," I forget about it every time.
- And when I show up - You forget about it?
[But it seems like he enjoyed it] there are always different people.
Okay! This is the last question.
The last?
Why are you surprised?
I don't know what you mean by "last"...
[The last question of today's session...] Is this the end of today's shooting session?
[Nodding hard] It's 4:46 p.m. already...
Yeah, so two hours.
[Sulks]
[Why are your lips like that?]
No...
Do you still have a lot to talk about, Nam Gil?
There's no way.
[Relief]
[Nam Gil's second impulsive thought]
Where did you learn how to do this? Don't.
[What is happening to him?]
Nam Gil...
Young Kwang, you're not supposed to stretch here.
[They're becoming similar] This isn't your home!
[Skit ON, child educator mode ON] You're gonna stay focused and finish it on time.
I'm guessing many people are eager to know this.
[Last question] When will Trigger be released?
[July 25th, 2025 on Netflix] Was it July 25th?
Yeah, I think so.
It pulls you in and keeps you entertained.
[Conversation starter] And I think it'll be a great conversation starter.
"I saw this, what would you do in this situation?"
[Agreeing] I think it'll be perfect to watch while talking.
So I won't miss it.
Thank you.
So, lastly, did you enjoy the time here with me?
- How was it? - It was really fun.
As I was watching your show
I always thought the way you host was very smart.
Talking about the guest's work time to time
and also catching up with them.
So I enjoyed being here today so much.
[Satisfied] Thank you for saying that.
[How did Young Kwang think?] How about you, Young Kwang?
I had a lot of fun as well.
I think I would be more comfortable the next time I come here.
I'm genuinely looking forward to running into you
in the future regardless of which show it may be.
[Let's be friends...] Thank you.
Then
[Time for Salon4Cut] we only need to take Salon4Cut
to commemorate your visit.
Then will you call me Ms. Do Youn next time we meet?
- No? - Then?
- Do Youn. - You'll call me "Do Youn"?
[Promised to be on a first-name basis] Then can I call you "Nam Gil"?
Sure.
- People would think I'm crazy. - Why? It's fine with me.
You can look here think about the pose and we'll take four pics.
One, two, three.
[Mini Do Youn as well]
Thank you. One, two, three.
One, two, three.
Let's make guns with our hands.
- One, two, three. - Like this?
[Heart snipers] Do Youn.
[Kim Nam Gil, Kim Young Kwang] You're good at it.
[Congrats on becoming members of Salon Drip2] Really? Was it okay?

and MC Lee Ok Seop.
[And next week's guest...] LongLongs.
I miss you.
[Hop]
[100th episode special guest, Jang Do Youn] Jang Do Youn.
[Every LongLong is curious] We can smell some romance watching you on TV.
[and she can't hide the smell of romance] Romance?
People often ask me.
"Is Do Youn really seeing him?"
[Private questions for Do Youn] Mr. **?
Right. Then can I
talk about that?
[Off-air]
No, we can't use that for the video...
[But do you want to hear it?] Hear me out.
Something bad happened with **.
[Off-air]
[Overwhelmed by her best friend's revelation]
Is there anything interesting?
She told me to not say anything...
I didn't tell you not to say anything.
[Real BTS brought by Do Youn's best friends] You keep saying things that cannot be revealed.
[LongLongs, come watch] Even if we're on YouTube
[insane 100th episode special] you can't say things about **.
You cannot edit that.
[And then there's "Part 2 celebration"]
Oh, my god.
100th episode?
[Anonymous party delegation] This is unbelievable, oh my god.
[Salon Drip2 members are gathered to celebrate its 100th episode]
[100th episode invitation to LongLongs]

[Cookie video] [Last photo time]
He's exhausted...
Oh, me?
No, Young Kwang!
[Introvert Young Kwang did his best] It's okay, Young Kwang.
I know how he feels right now.
[Finally, shooting session is over] Great work, everybody.
Great work.
[Introvert goes home right on time after pouring out everything he's got]
[And...] Do you
[Extrovert doesn't want to go home yet] also meet with Se Hyung and other guys as well?
- Yang Se Hyung? - Yes.
[On and on...]
[It never ends...]
[He enjoyed his time until the last minute and went home...]
Great work today.
[Two different personalities, Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang, thanks for being here today]
