Greg's got these songs that everybody knows that have been part of the musical

vocabulary for 40 years.

I've been playing Greg's songs a lot of years in bars and clubs.

He's a master of simplifying something and making it more beautiful.

I think somebody like Greg who has spent his life singing the blues gives a

particular grace and power to singing a ballad. Greg's voice just has always

just... But I couldn't be more honored to get to be asked to, you know, share

the stage with LeGray. There's a lot of problems in 10,000 hearts. Going easy on

them, giving them one and a half problems for each heart, you got 15,000

problems. But two and a half hours, we gonna make them forget about it.

Make them smile and shake their butt and have a good time.

People say you're no good.

Well, I wouldn't cut you loose, baby, if I could.

I seem to stay down on the ground.

Baby, I'm too far gone to turn around.

If only you'd pick up your mind.

Take me where you go.

But just leave me here behind.

Lord, you got those commando blues.

Woman, you got those commando blues.

Oh, you got me feeling.

Lock it through.

Where I would go.

Don't ask me why I stay here, cause I don't know.

Maybe I'm a fool to care.

Girl, without your sweet love, you know I would be nowhere.

So here I stay.

I might find somebody else.

Oh, but I don't know just

when that will be.

Oh, I don't know.

I can't say because I can't see.

Say it all, darling, say it all.

You go your way and I'll go mine.

Well, it seems to me that I once heard everything

would find a cure in time.

So say it all, oh, say it all.

Oh, I wish you good luck.

I'll see you when you come next time.

Woman you got those come and go blues.

Lord you got those come and go blues.

Oh you got me feeling

Lucky it's true

Well, I wouldn't cut you loose, baby, if I could.

Oh,

you got me feeling like a fool

Thank you.

I'd like you to welcome Mr. Derek Trucks.

Tragedy and trouble was more than I could bear.

Times my luck was so bad.

I had to fall my hands.

I almost lost my soul.

Really, I could find my head.

Wake up early in the morning, feeling nearly dead.

I was never afraid of danger.

I took trouble on the chin.

Mountains I climbed was to kill a thousand men.

Spent most of my lifetime downtown sleeping behind the wheel.

Never needed anybody. I was king of the hill.

Whoa.

We're not thinking about the old days.

Whoa. Since she was up in my sky.

Well, life ain't what it seems.

When they pull apart our broken dreams.

Guess I opened my eyes in the near time.

Cause the show felt like the end of the night.

No matter how hard I run, I just can't get away.

Try to do my best, but the devil gets in my way.

I spend most of my lifetime downtown, sleeping behind the wheel.

Till it all came down to kill or be killed.

When I think about the old days.

just like

the

air

Just like the...

Dan Trucks!

A wonderful friend and one of my favorite singers, Miss Susan Tedeschi.

I recall was a poor time.

Living was too easy and I felt so fine.

But my, my, my, right before my very eyes, Satan

came and fired upon me.

Wouldn't listen when they warned me.

Dagger in my back while I was calling my heart, wouldn't stand back.

He's gonna love her, buddy.

30 minutes after my ship set sail,

he put up a sign in my house for gambling.

Well, I put a seed in my sweet

man's eyes.

He has thought a way to fool me.

something waiting for me

Now that it's hung over and gone.

So I just don't feel so warm alone.

La, la, la.

I sit up to the waist of time.

You don't ever seem to know me.

And now it's not too late to show me.

And if I ever see the man walking down the street, I'll just stand back.

It's how to move away slowly.

How to move away slowly.

Gonna step away.

Thank you so much.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Devin Allman.

Please welcome Robert Ra-

Somebody feels all right in here.

I'm not a sweetie

NEVER!

Ladies and gentlemen.

to your side.

your mind

But you got my number.

Welcome to the stage, one of the greatest bluesmen of all time, Kembo!

Thank y'all very much.

It's nice to be here.

It's nice to be a family, just to be at home.

Memories fall like rain Remind you to take it slow

One step at a time, baby Till you find your

way Back to the big show Place

that you've been Place that you've done

Remind you that you still on the run.

Well, just another ride from that train to the Nobel.

Just another fool.

Too far from home, babe.

Just another strain.

Trying to get somewhere.

Somewhere, but you're still all alone.

Watching the world passing you by.

But you tell everybody you must be cursed.

You tell them all how you try, try, and try.

But your luck keep getting wasted.

Seems like such a, such a long, long time since you had.

I'm trying to get somewhere, somewhere, but you're still all

alone.

Punch your ticket.

Drop your load.

Time for you to get on board. I know you

love it.

You know it too.

The wonder world has become of you, baby.

You, you remember.

Blue skies are shining.

And the money flowed like wild.

Had a real good woman.

And she was showing up, yeah.

She was showing up fire.

Storm clouds arriving in from the sea.

The winds are blowing reality.

Just another ride on that train to nowhere.

Just another fool trying to get home.

Just another stranger trying to get somewhere, somewhere,

but you're still all alone.

Just another ride on that train to nowhere.

Just another fool trying to get home there.

Just another snake trying to get somewhere.

Somewhere, but you're still all alone.

Yeah, yeah.

Somebody say, hey!

Hey!

Whoa! Move! Somebody say, hey!

Hey!

Well, well.

Thank you Ladies

and gentlemen from Jefferson, Georgia, please welcome singer

-songwriter Brantley Gilbert!

I'm too young to die.

Move on away from my head.

Before the bullets fly.

Always been a gambler. Taking chances on my life.

Always smashing love affairs.

Seems like shooting dice.

Stays the game, girl.

That's what keeps me satisfied.

I'll be even in the nick of time just before the bullets fly.

Take it away, boys.

Mr. Franklin!

i lost my first bet when i was 21.

So I know you'll leave me alone in this cold, cold stride.

They're a doctor in the house.

Would you please make welcome one of Greg Arlen's oldest friends, Rock and

Roll Hall of Famer. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Dr.

John.

Yeah, we're going to play a little tune that Greg Allman and myself wrote a long

time ago, and that's here it is.

You can call it love, you can call it a place.

Call it what you want, you can live in reverse.

Call it black, you can call it blue.

Let this lesson be a message to you.

You can let this message

be a lesson to you.

Call it what it is, Lord, where it's at.

Call it magic.

Call it tragic.

Let this message be a message

to

you in the way that you want.

You can be confused, honey, if it's you.

You can't miss with the stuff I use.

Think it's evil, you can think it's true.

Let this lesson be a message to you.

Let this message be a lesson to you.

I'll give you some thought now.

Let this message be a message to you.

Let this message be a message to you.

Once I was glad, always happy, never

sad.

And every day seemed like Sunday.

And although things were slow,

I never seemed to have no...

Somehow never once got lonely

See the fact is

more or less We're all gambling with our own happiness

And most of all you will be friends

The queen.

I'll watch you sit across the room Beautiful as the flowers

bloom Leave me late just one day

Oh, brother, you're gonna come back and find me gone

I love you, queen of hearts

Just tell me-

A warm, soft wind runs through and through.

And near my heart is only you.

And now I always keep on shouting to gather this

strange peace of mind.

Ladies and gentlemen, John Hyatt!

Thank you.

Ain't but one way out, baby Lord, I just can't go out that door

Ain't but one way out, baby

Lord, I just can't go out that door But

there's a man down there Might be a man that I don't know

All that stuff that they don't know.

I wish just to be here in the first place.

I know some man's gonna walk in and take my place.

There ain't no way in the world I'm going out that jungle.

But there's a man down there.

Might be your man.

I don't know.

Just might happen to be your man, babe.

Just might happen to be your man.

I said, just might happen to be your

man, babe.

Oh, baby, I just don't.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome one of Greg's best friends, the legendary

Taj Mahal.

Girl, Georgia.

Woke up this morning, baby, with them states, man.

Well, I looked over the corner.

Grandma, grandpa had them too.

Well, I'm a guy that left me.

I'm a guy that left me. Why?

Ain't good looking, baby, but you know I'm so good.

He wants to go.

They were just really nice guys. And I know now that they really like my music

a lot, particularly the Statesboro Blues thing, which was a big thing with them.

It's just that they were different from all the other guys that were out there

playing. Part of it was I think they were southerners, and they're genuine,

and they're friendly.

I used to ask them what it was like living in the South, and there were some

hair-raising stories about what it was like to be a freak in the South.

in the 60s. You know, bands like the Allman Brothers, R.E.M., B-52s,

even James Brown, he came across the border a couple times.

It's a fertile ground for more than just Peanuts.

There's been a lot of music that came out of Georgia.

Please welcome from Athens, Georgia, Widespread!

Thank you, Mr. Gregg.

Ride on down the same old street you've seen a thousand times But

overflows with neon lights and enormous signs Oh my God,

how you want to leave here?

Well, well

Now

your head's severely pounding from the night before

you keep going back going back for more you know

midnight's calling yeah well well

you

won't leave this whirlwind storm no but

you got no place to hang

Stingy, you say.

So bad to leave that world where it's gone.

You can't find no place to grab on, no.

So round and round and go again.

Just ain't easy.

No, just ain't easy.

Lovely ladies all dressed in silk and lace.

Oh, and while you're in there, it seems like it's like such a lovely place.

Oh, but when you leave there, oh, you've got your hat down on your face.

got your hat down on your face watch

your head

down on your face

Well, can you tell me? Tell me, friend.

Life is exactly where I've been.

Is that so much chance?

I'll pay you back no matter what the test.

You seem pretty sure about something I don't know.

You'll never tell me all that we're just about to go.

Sincerely, me.

Please welcome to the stage Trace Atkin.

I feel like a bad boy tonight.

No, I'm no angel.

No, I'm no stranger to the streets. I've got my label.

So I won't crumble at your feet. And I know, baby.

So I've got scars up on my cheek.

And I'm half crazy.

Come on and love me, baby.

So you find me hard. to handle it, I'm easier to hold.

You say you like my spurs, you jingle, and I'll never leave you cold.

So I might steal your diamonds, I'll bring you back some gold.

I'm no angel.

I'll never treat you back.

So I might steal your time and I'll bring it back some more.

stranger to the dark. Let me rock you crazy.

Let me start a fire in your heart.

Come on baby.

Come and let me show you my big tattoo.

Let me drive you crazy.

Come on.

I'm holding you.

Don't care how long you go.

Don't care how long you stay.

It's a good treatment, baby.

I'll bring you home someday.

Someday, baby.

You ain't gonna treat me like this no more.

Now you keep on betting, girl.

That the dies won't pass.

Well, I know, I know, I know, girl.

You're living way too fast.

And someday, baby, you ain't gonna try for me anymore.

No more.

But without my loving girl, you won't stay long too long.

Someday, baby, you ain't gonna trouble me no more.

I mean, baby, I'm trouble no more.

I tell everybody in my little neighborhood, you're a

kind little woman, but you don't do me no good.

But stop there, baby.

You ain't gonna trouble for me anymore.

Not me, baby.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome country music royalty Vince Gill

What

a great man to be in the state of Georgia

in Memphis.

Destination wrong.

Georgia ain't no paradise.

It's a place I could call home.

I sat next to a broad

She was crying, trying so hard to hide.

The selfless sob.

Trying to get her talking.

Oh, she didn't have much to say.

Asked me for a man.

At the pine trees of the rain.

Mostly shits of paint.

Then I came,

brought some rain.

Whoa, nothing seemed to ease the pain.

Hours that we talked seemed like minutes, seemed like minutes, all

in vain.

Now I see his tears keep on running wild.

She shared smiling.

Multicolored lady.

You ain't left no rainbow that I've ever seen.

And I'll take you to my...

Thank you, Greg.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the most beautiful voice in Nashville,

Martina McBride.

It's all gone For the last time it seems

It's

a shame

Someday we'll find we should have relied on

time All

my friends

And I was glad To have

How to

the whole wide world and my very dear friend, Mr. Pat Monahan.

Well, you can take all the money that you made and put it in a

jar.

Drag out a map that will show you it's heaven very far.

You can take all the medicine you need to find out who you are.

Maybe you can figure it out.

A woman won't be so cruel, but you just can't forget her, can you

fool?

Well, those winter nights and those city lights and the crying of the

train.

Every day is a straight upgrade.

Every memory's a pain, baby Finally used the sense, baby

To come out of the rain Still you

can't figure out Why that man's gotta be so cool But you

just can't forget him, can you fool?

You can take all of the money that you're needing.

Put it in a jar.

Track out a map that will show you.

It's heaven verified.

You can take all of the medicine you need to find out.

Gotta be so cruel, but you just can't forget him, can you?

Martin McBride, y'all.

Last Sunday morning, the sunshine felt like rain.

A week before, they all seemed the same.

With the help of God and true friends, I come to realize I still have two

strong legs and even wings to fly.

Oh, I ain't wasting time no more, because time goes by like a

hurricane.

Yeah, baby!

Wasting time no more.

As time goes by like pouring rain.

With a much faster thing.

You don't need no

chips and I'll tell you why.

You can't let more pressure stay low.

Well, look inside yourself.

And if you don't see what you want, maybe sometimes then you don't just

leave your mind alone

Many years have gone, and all the war freaks die off, leaving us alone.

We'll raise our children in a peaceful way we can.

It's up to you and me, brother, to try, try, try, try, get them out. I

ain't wasting time no more, cause time goes by like a hurricane.

Running out the subway extreme.

Don't forget to pour.

How about this for a Friday night in Atlanta, Georgia?

I barely remember the last 40

days or just what they're holding me for.

So far...

They tell me, boy, you're destined to

win, lose, or draw.

Letters unanswered, and this is so few.

Sure, sure, desperation I know.

Yeah, I guess I'd give the most anything.

Oh Lord, oh Lord, if they'd just let me go.

lonely day when I

She's dead and gone.

And Paul just don't seem to find the time.

It makes me so sad that he's forsaken me.

When he's all I have left, I call mine.

I'm so...

There's two men in one room for ten long years.

There's still strangers that talk away the time.

Because each time I think of your salt tanning mind, yeah, I

lay here and I die, I die one more time. I'm so sorry.

A win, lose, or draw.

A win, lose, or draw.

Yeah,

win, lose,

or draw.

I'll lose.

I'll drop.

Friendship, please welcome Jackson Brown

I don't do too much talking these days.

These days.

These days I seem to think a lot about the things that I

forgot to do.

the times I had the chance to

well I

had a lover I don't think

I'll risk another these days

these days

These days I seem to be afraid to live the life that I made

in song.

But it's just that I have been

losing.

These days I sit on cornerstone.

Count the time and quarter to ten.

My friend.

And now I believe I've come to see myself again.

These days I said, I'm cornerstone.

You count the time in quarter tones to ten.

My friend, please don't confront me

with my faith.

So aware of them.

Crossroads seem to come and go.

The gypsy flies from coast to coast.

Knowing many, loving none.

Bearing sorrow and pain.

to sweet melissa

red

chain

Each car looks the same, all the same.

And no one knows the gypsy's name.

No one hears his lonely sigh.

There are no blankets where he lied.

Deepest dreams, the gypsy flies with sweet Melissa.

Again the morning comes, again he's all around.

Some names shining through his hair, appear not to have a care.

Pick up your gear, gypsy roll on.

Crossroads.

Will you ever let him go, oh Lord?

Will you hide the dead man's ghost?

Will he lie beneath the clay?

Will his spirit float away?

Yes,

I know that he won't stay without Melissa.

Vince Gill and Zack-

I got to run to keep from hiding.

And I'm bound to keep on riding.

I got one more silver dollar.

But I'm not going to let them catch me, no.

I'm not going to let them catch the midnight brown.

Drop one more silver dollar.

But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no.

I'm not gonna let them catch the midnight rider.

But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no. Not gonna let them catch the midnight

rider.

Thank you.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the baddest band ever, the Allman Brothers

Band!

Not to bring the gang, right?

to wake up with the blue hold myself

I could see

So sorry.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Pull myself together Put on

a new face

will surely be.

myself together and put on

a new face and climb

I'm sorry.

I've been run down, and I've been lied to.

And I don't know why I let that mean woman make me out a fool.

Took all of my money, wrecked my new car.

Now she's with one of my good time buddies, drinking in some cost town bar.

Sometimes I feel, oh sometimes,

like every time, you're a weapon though,

I take advantage of all those

times, as long as you like.

My princess,

oh, you're a princess for me.

And I just stand there and take it down.

Oh, I love you.

I drown myself in circle as I look at what you've done.

But nothing seems to change.

The bad guys stay the same.

I walk and run.

Sometimes I feel, yeah.

Oh, sometimes I got to try

to do a bit more.

And I'm standing by you.

Oh.

Okay.

sometimes.

It's such a blessing.

It's kind of like you put in all this work, and then I guess it's like

building a building, and it's finished one day.

There it is.

And you look back at all your hard work, and you

look at the effect it had, and you just thank God for the whole thing.

It's the best feeling in the world. And today I feel more like I belong than I

ever have in my whole life.

I cannot believe this is happening.

i was standing by my window

on a cold and cloudy day

when i saw that first

come rolling out of care

circle, be unbroken,

by and by, Lord, by and by,

you know there's a better home, home

awaiting, in the sky.

Undertaker, oh, you Undertaker, please drive

slow.

Please drive slow.

Because, you know, for that body that you carry,

Lord, I hate, Lord, I hate to see you

go.

Sing it!

Sing it y'all!

I tried to hold up and be brave,

but I could not hide my sorrow.

Damn it, Zappa!

My brother's sister's crying.

Sing the songs of childhood.

Sing a song.

Hymns of faith. Sing a song.

Thank you. Thank you.
