(soft music)

(suspenseful music)

(eerie music)

Hey, Beth, took you long enough.

[Customer] We need this in 10 minutes.

Hey there, girl.

[Customer] If you could press 10 minutes.

- Yes. - [Customer] thank you.

Okay, I'll be there in 10. Thanks.

Whew. Anyway, what are you up to today?

Mm, not much. Just enjoying the quiet time.

You read like way too much?

I just finished an awesome book, but.

So how's the boyfriend?

Is it Kenneth or can I just call him Ken?

Oh, he's good.

Yeah, we're we're really good.

Yeah, he's been great.

Well, my boyfriend and I we're doing better than great.

Ooh.

I mean, last night he took me to my fave takeout spot,

tacos, obviously.

And then this morning

I woke up to a ice latte with oat milk and a donut.

So I don't know if that's like a sign or something,

but we're doing pretty good.

But he is like an ass sometimes, don't get me wrong.

Like, he asked me to go back into the Crandall Woods,

the old park the other day.

And supposedly it's cursed, but I just wouldn't.

I could do some research.

Few years back there was a group of filmmakers

and they went into the woods to do a story

on the cursed woods.

And they just kind of disappeared.

Nobody really knows what happens to them,

but they never found the footage or anything, just strange.

And, you know, I don't really know if I believe that.

I am like a huge skeptic, but it is still kind of eerie.

There's a multitude of reasons why people could disappear,

you know, like could have been Bigfoot.

That's really interesting.

I, I love stuff like that.

I'll have to check it out.

I mean, I wouldn't if I were you personally,

but go for it.

You are fearless.

If I get lost, I'll text you.

- On it. - [Customer] Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Well, good luck girl.

We still on for, for lunch tomorrow?

We're still good.

I do have like a date with my boyfriend.

He wants to watch some specials

that he is been like really into recently,

so looking forward to lunch.

Yep. See you soon.

Bye.

[Customer] We're ready for you.

Oh, be right there. See you later.

(tense music)

(tense music continues)

Oh, shit.

(suspenseful music)

(indistinct whispering)

(eerie music)

(Lisa screams)

(phone ringing)

I, I'm on my way.

Yep. Yeah, I'm on away.

I'm, I'm leaving now.

Okay.

Get it together.

(indistinct chatter)

Hey, sorry I'm late.

Took you long enough.

Yeah, I must have lost track of time.

Things have just been so busy, you know?

Yeah.

Well anyway, yeah, I've, I've been doing this and that

and you know, of course work has been keeping me busy

and I've had a pretty hectic schedule

like between like my home life and my work life

and everything.

And, and so it's really nice to go to lunch.

I did have a nail appointment earlier,

but I did cancel that for lunch.

Which, speaking of lunch, is there even food served here?

There's nobody here.

I just kind of wanted a coffee at least, you know?

Geez.

Anyway, it's, it's hard

with the new boyfriend and everything.

Keeping up appearances is, is really tough

when there's somebody that you really like, you know?

You know?

Hello?

Sorry, what'd you say?

I'm, I'm not sure if I slept last night.

Hmm. Okay. (tense music)

Well, being in this theater lobby is really inspiring.

It's kind of making me think about getting back into acting.

You know, I used to act back in the day,

but I kinda lost that interest a little bit.

But you know what?

It's just so, I think I could do it, you know?

I think I could be an actress again.

Like I could be, you know, the main character.

But anyway, so how are you and the boyfriend?

Are you gonna tie the knot?

We're taking our time.

I mean, I might snatch him off

if something happens to Brian.

I mean, you could have my boyfriend.

He's totally calm and into boring things like you.

I mean, I think that we'd make a great couple together.

You think that he would like me?

I do. I would totally marry him.

I mean, can you just imagine how good our kids would look?

I don't think this is a good conversation for your,

with your best friend to have about their boyfriends.

Lisa, relax.

I was just saying how lucky you two are.

No.

How could you even think that you would take him

if he ever left me?

Lisa, what?

I, what, what did I even say?

I'm sorry, Lisa.

I cannot even believe Lisa.

She just threw water all over my face for no good reason.

It's like, she's just crazy.

It's like she went off the deep end.

I don't even know what happened to her there.

Hello? Like, are you even listening to me right now?

Yeah. Babe, I'm, I'm trying to watch the news.

This thing about this water experiment.

Unbelievable. Are you even listening to right now?

There's gonna be a special on about it at like 9 o'clock.

Hope it turns out. That's cool.

No, I have no idea what's going on with Lisa.

It's like she just went off the deep end today

and I, I just can't figure out what's wrong with her.

Maybe her and Ken are having

some kind of problem or something.

Maybe.

Can you just listen to me for just a, a minute?

I mean, there is a reason

that there's a pause button on the remote

and you can pause your live TV.

Right.

There's gonna be a, a special in 15 minutes

on this water experiment though.

And that is why there is a mute button so.

Just, I'm more concerned about Beth at this point's.

It's just so strange.

We've been friends for so long

and it's just so out of character for her.

I mean, I don't really know Ken,

but that doesn't sound like Lisa.

It's not like Lisa.

I just, I don't really know what to even do for her.

I mean, nothing.

Maybe they'll just kind of figure it out by them self.

I guess.

I'm just really happy to be home now

and away from that really strange energy.

Hey Ryan.

What time is it?

Why is it so dark in here?

Hey, Ryan.

Hello. Hey.

(tense music)

(Lis breathing heavily)

(Lisa screaming)

(soft music)

Hey, Lisa.

Lisa, you're gonna let me in?

I brought some popcorn.

Oh, I've been so worried.

Hey, is this the way you treat your best boyfriend?

No.

So do you want me to start the movie?

Hey, you okay?

Yeah. Yes.

It's just, Beth.

She, she talks about her relationship so much

and how good it is.

And it's, it's to the point

where, where she, she's just bragging.

That sounds like Beth.

I don't know, I.

Maybe we shouldn't go over there for game night tonight.

We've been the best we've ever been.

As far as us, I mean, we're great.

I mean, look, we're getting engaged.

We're, we're steady.

You know, we've been together two, three years on and off,

but this is the best run we've had so far.

I mean, come on.

So many people in our corner,

you know, and, and the way I feel about you, oh my God.

I mean, there's been some rough times and things you did

and I thought about leaving a few times actually.

And now that I'm being honest, Beth maybe has a point.

And unless you change,

maybe there's someone better out there for me.

I mean, look at how you spend your spare time reading books.

It's not, it's not my thing.

And can you please wear something more attractive sometime?

It's like I'm dating an old person.

What did you just say to me?

I said, you looked pretty dang fine in that outfit.

No, no, no, no. That was not it.

You're right.

You are trashy and I'm a fool to be with you.

Get out.

I was just saying we should start moving in together.

Out.

(eerie music)

Ken.

Oh, Lisa, ah, my head.

Ah, Ken. I have something to tell you.

Beth dared me to go into Crandall Woods.

And since then I haven't been myself.

And then I've started hearing things

and everyone has been so mean.

Oh.

Have you heard that Crandall was cursed?

Once when I was a boy?

I mean, once from a school kid.

He tried to dare me to go in, but I didn't.

Lisa, Lisa.

Lisa, Lisa, where are you going?

Oh my God, Lisa, what's with the knife?

Protection.

Protection?

Protection from who?

You don't hear that voice

that's driving me to think this way.

Lisa.

Lisa.

Lisa.

Lisa.

(Ken groaning)

Lisa, what are you doing?

(Ken groaning)

(calm music)

Hey guys, it's Lori with news for you.

And here's an important message.

All the water in the world is gone,

from our streams, our lakes, our oceans.

People are surviving by looting and killing,

getting ready for doomsday.

My only question for you is how are you going to survive?

I can't take this anymore.

Come on, pick up Sherry.

Sherry, it's me, your brother.

I don't know where I am at this point.

I'm outta supplies, I'm outta gas.

And I'm just about outta battery.

I was just hoping to talk to you,

but having a really hard time.

But don't worry. I'm sure we'll talk again soon.

It won't be long. I know it.

Goodbye. (tense music)

I stole some water from these guys

and they're, they found

ah fuck.

Stay down.

No, no, no.

Stop right there.

Don't shoot.

You're coming with me.

I didn't do anything.

We got one. You're coming with me now.

No, don't hurt me.

What are you gonna do with me?

Shut up. Get in.

Get in there.

Yeah.

[Supervisor] Don't yeah me, I'm your superior.

Now this is coming from the top.

We need to see progress. We need to see results.

People are the key to our survival.

I understand, but I have a limited amount of equipment.

We have a limited amount of subjects.

We are making progress. It's slow.

But listen to me, we are making progress.

[Supervisor] Your attitude really isn't permitted.

You listen close.

We need to find a solution in a few days.

That's all we have left.

And you're the only one left in this field.

Our units are out there

and everyone's trying to round up who's left

and it's going very slow.

I understand things are dire, but I can't rush things.

We can't create water out of thin air.

If we had some more subjects that might help.

[Supervisor] I don't care. Do your job.

We'll get it done. (tense music)

Go screw yourself.

(calm music)

Hello.

(dramatic music)

(door knocks)

Hey guys, come on in.

Hey Jeremy.

Glad to see you, man here safe.

Well, thanks for having us over.

I don't know what we would've done.

Yeah, man, people are going nuts out there.

They're killing each other. They're looting.

Just, you're a lifesaver. You know, we appreciate it.

It's the least I could do.

I mean, you, you're my college buddies

and I, I, I couldn't just let you

be stuck out there out on the street.

Where, where can we put her stuff?

Well, I got two bedrooms right around the corner.

I got dibs on the bedroom.

And a couch.

Oh yeah. There we go.

I actually got a new mattress in the other room over here.

Oh, I'll take that one, man. My back hurts.

Alright. Make yourself at home.

This is nice.

I can live here.

Okay, good.

I, actually, I got water supply if you want need-

If you could get me a water, that'd be great.

Okay.

Well look, I I'll, I'll be on the couch if you,

if you need me.

And keep better eye out on things there anyway,

so yeah, let me know, let me know.

All right. Good.

(tense music)

(door slams)

You know, guys, I think this is gonna work out great.

Yeah.

Remember in college when we bunked together.

Well, besides that, what was her name, Arlene?

Ellen.

Well, I got food that last us for about a whole year.

And, and well, well, water,

it's, it's hardly ever runs dry.

We've got a good supply.

I didn't sleep so well.

He never sleeps.

I mean, do you need some extra padding from the bed?

No, no, I don't sleep outside my house

especially with everything going on.

Water is the key to our survival.

True. Right.

But you gotta remember, this isn't the first time

our country's completely shut down.

I mean, we've gotten through it before

and I know that there's good people out there

trying to find a solution to this water crisis.

And, you know, we, we just got, gotta

trust the experts, you know.

I heard that there's experts

that are looking to solve this water crisis

and you know, in a lab somewhere.

We just gotta trust the experts.

No, man, you don't trust those military peeps.

They're rounding up people

and they're bringing them

somewhere up north where there's ice.

There isn't any ice.

Right here.

Hey, Lad. So what's up with Derek right now?

I mean, he, he doesn't seem like his normal self.

Something with his girl.

They separated. They got separated, I don't know.

Do you think we should do anything to help him?

No, tough love my friend. Tough love.

He'll snap eventually, don't worry.

I don't know, man.

I, I, I think he just needs someone to talk to, you know.

He'll be fine on his own.

(soft music)

Holler if you need anything.

Hope you're adjusting well.

I'm going to bed, okay. Goodnight.

Guys? Hello?

Guys, where'd you go guys?

Guys?

You used up all the water, you psycho.

The water's good.

Used all the water.

(Derek screams)

Derek, what's going on?

Where's Lad?

He's in the garage. Checking on the water supply.

What the heck happened?

Nothing. Nothing.

Listen, Derek, I, I,

we're gonna get through this, all right?

It it, this is only temporary.

I'm sure she's doing okay out there.

I know it's a pain.

I know this whole thing is painful, but you're my friend.

I, I just wanna see you be better, you know.

We're gonna get through this, all right?

And she, she's probably doing okay, you know.

Did you move the water?

No.

I don't wanna alert anybody, but it's gone.

It's all gone.

What?

You say that out loud. That does not sound good.

I will, I'll go fill some more up.

At least I'll try.

All right. I filled up as much as I could outside.

I think we're in better shape. We're, we're doing good.

Yeah. Thanks for doing that.

I didn't get much sleep last night

and I heard people screaming.

Really? I didn't hear anything last night.

I slept pretty good actually.

But, but I mean, overall,

we're, we're, all doing okay in here though, right, man.

You didn't hear that.

Maybe somebody stole your first stash of water.

What it, everything's locked out there.

There's no house key for anybody to get to get to.

Do you check the water in the sink?

The well water?

I'm sure it's fine.

Here, I'll go look right now.

It, it's just the water pressure, man.

It's, it's nothing to be too concerned about.

Listen, I'll, I'll go tell Lad about what's going on.

I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll take care of it. Okay?

I'll take care of it.

Lad is asleep.

(eerie music)

What the hell?

It's, it's the, well water.

Something's wrong. It, it, it, it, it's not working.

It doesn't go dry.

What's the matter?

The, the pressure, the,

it's the water pressure that,

it's all it is is the water pressure.

Somehow, it's, it's, it's, it's not, it's just not working.

What's happening?

What is.

Uncivilized society?

Ugh.

Wait, in the garage.

There's, there's, there's still plenty of water

in the garage.

What? Even tons even.

Can, can, can, can you just go check for me?

Yeah, I can do that.

You want me to let you know

when I have everything worked out?

I just, I just need a minute.

Uncivilized.

He's out there. I don't know what he wants.

Derek hasn't come back yet. I don't know where he is.

I know you're in there.

What do you want?

- What going on out there? - Thanks for the water.

I'm drinking it for days.

We gotta go see what happened with Derek.

If we don't, it, it might be too late.

Go, go.

Let's go.

Oh, there is someone else in there too.

After all, your friend wasn't too nice to me.

(eerie music)

Your friend wasn't nice, are you?

It's empty.

We don't have to fight.

You don't have to kill me. You don't have to kill Wad.

I don't just want what's inside.

I want the whole house.

Just, just take whatever you want.

If you only knew the military are taking people

and they're doing experiments.

And you're next, you're next.

Now, if you kindly move aside, please.

Take whatever you want. Whatever's in the house.

There's lots, there's lots of food, lots of it.

Just because the whole world is going crazy

doesn't mean we have to go crazy with it.

They're not gonna do it to me.

They're not gonna get me.

No, no, no.

They're not gonna get me.

(suspenseful music)

It's okay. You go.

(dramatic music)

Don't move.

Who the hell are you?

You're coming with me.

I said don't move.

(tense music)

Looks like you're riding up everybody pretty good.

You were supposed to save everybody.

I had no choice. I really didn't.

Subject was neutralized.

Another subject is being sent in for testing.

There's been four more spotted in the next town.

We should be back tomorrow. Round them all up.

[General] Our first priority is that young man.

Remember your mission.

We don't have the time nor the resources to lose this one.

He's your responsibility and you need to act accordingly.

Now, do your job agent and move out.

Yes. Yes, I agree, general.

He may be the next step to our future on this planet.

Another subject. What, what does that mean?

You know, I took you into this unit.

I gave you one job.

I didn't mean to set up my friends,

but we're doing this because of everyone.

That's right. We're supposed to save everybody.

(dramatic music)

I am not really sure how it all started.

The pain, the anchor, the nightmares.

My life is not my life.

It's someone else's.

I've lost within myself.

Gentlemen, why are you all still up?

Don't you know it's past your bedtime?

(man humming)

What is he doing?

Hmm.

Yes, Teresa.

Yeah, can we get another round of these tests

in all my patients for tomorrow's new study?

Sure, we can do that.

And I'll round up the other nurses also for the cleanse.

Now the other nurses are newer,

so I'll fill them in on what we're up to.

Yes, I agree.

Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid.

I have been staring at all of them

and everybody seems to still be awake.

But our objective here is to clear their minds.

Forget and sleep.

Tomorrow we'll have them forget

all about their normal lives.

And now I have a concern, that one new patient,

first name, Frank, last name, no idea.

We all know who he is.

Listen, really close. Keep him under your finger.

Everything we have depends on his study.

We can't afford him waking up

and finding out the real truth, if you know what I mean.

Oh yes. I can handle that.

And don't worry, he's my personal project.

His roommate was one of us.

And he needs to learn what it is to suffer.

They can't all revert to who they once were.

Keeping our patients compliant is key,

don't you forget that.

Make sure to call me as soon as you get an update.

(man humming)

It's great being able to get off work

and watch all these men.

See you later.

Bye Dr. Ross.

(man groaning)

That's it. No breakfast for anyone tomorrow.

Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid.

Shut up.

Shut up, I said.

(man humming)

(eerie music)

Don't worry. I can take care of him.

Hey, partner. So we're ready to go get lunch today?

Shut up. Why are you talking to him?

I just talking to him like a friend.

He's like our only friend.

Shut up. Why are you still talking to him?

So we're gonna be lunch today, right?

Stop asking him. Dick.

Do we get our favor today? Shut up.

Can you hear me? Listen close.

You're never getting out of here. And you're all mine.

You may have gotten away with murder, but I know the truth.

And your roommate, she was one of us.

Sweet dreams.

(soft music)

What the hell man?

Shh. He's watching.

Who's watching? I don't see anybody.

The man, he's watching.

There.

(dramatic music)

This way.

(man screaming)

What's going on here?

You're in a dream.

My name is Toby. You're gonna want this.

No, I don't, I don't-

You're gonna want hold onto that 'cause I'm already dead.

What's my story?

Some nurses.

They're trying to frighten you to gain power.

You didn't kill your roommate. They drove you to it.

(man humming)

Wait a minute, I recognize that. Aren't you a patient?

Me? No.

Come on the exit's this way. Come on.

What are we doing?

Shut up.

Can we kill him?

It's your dream. Just waiting on the right window.

Not this one.

Ah, getting dizzy.

(door knocks)

(tense music)

Quiet, you two.

You're not gonna make a fuss again about lunch today.

You'll be fed soon enough.

Whatever. Do we get our favor today? Shut up.

If you take your meds, we'll see.

You are gonna be a good boy, right, Henry?

Who, me? No, she's talking to me.

Oh, apple.

Eat it.

Mm, want some?

No? Okay.

Nobody ever leaves this place.

It's the kind of place that once you're put away,

you stay away.

Henry, over there,

he may think that there's a light at the end of the tunnel,

but there isn't.

And don't even think about escaping.

We keep an eye on all of our guests.

Time for nap nap time.

Hello everyone. It'll all be fine in a minute.

Boy, if you weren't such a killer with good looks,

it maybe possibly would've brought you home

to meet my parents.

Be good everyone and you'll get a reward.

It's happening again. She's doing this.

I can't do it. I can't do it.

I can't do it anymore. I can't do it anymore.

Help me, please.

(soft music)

Hello?

Hello.

(indistinct chatter)

(suspenseful music)

(man screaming)

Dammit, that little shit.

(dramatic music)

Well, no, that was something.

I knew he could do again.

Soon he'll be all mine. Phase three begins.(laughs)
