But people do not.

Dear Mr. Dalziel. You do not know me, but I know you.

Everyone here knows you.

And so I want to tell you first ...

... That I have planned this year to commit suicide.

I do not want you to hold me, but only you know.

The man simply has a strong need for confession.

Why she committed suicide now? - She was trapped.

He was right. People do not do that. - A matter of time.

It was one of your best performances.

The elegant couple Pascoe.

Ellie.

And the breathtaking Peter.

Did you find it good?

Peter thinks of murder. He wants to reopen the case.

Of course it was murder.

Let me's just as well look at you, Peter.

Is there something I do not? - Eileen looking actors.

I seek God. - Who does not.

I do not play God. Usually I'm his right hand.

As you say what. - The fat man as God?

You're crazy. - And you are a genius, my darling.

I swallow my words. There is a God.

Good evening, gentlemen. Mr. Waterson can confirm that I am the police.

Inspecteur Dalziel. En wie bent u?

Swain.

Philip Swain.

And the lady on the bed? - That's my wife.

You have evidence in your hand.

It's your fault. You killed her out.

You've seen it yourself. She wanted to commit suicide.

Wat nu, Inspector?

I want that one is adhered to the commandments.

Mr. Waterson know how this expresses the value of the properties.

Therefore I arrest you both.

You're an educated man. You know how women are put together.

Women commit suicide?

People do not.

Who says that? - Henrik Ibsen. You know that?

I got to see him play once. He scored three times against Leeds.

Anonymous letters from a woman who wants to commit suicide.

In your own time. Do not overdo it.

My wife wanted to commit suicide.

That's very in.

She had a gun. She waved it with her finger on the trigger.

I was trying to keep at r ...

... But she founded herself and shot.

How did you get that gun? - He was hers.

How they did it?

She was American. Wired got from her father.

And what did your wife in the bedroom of Mr. Waterson?

They had an affair.

And you knew it.

No. I wanted to discuss something with Waterson and then I met them there.

Stay away from me.

So you met your wife there on that side of trying to make.

What could I do? I talked. I could almost ...

But what does that say about me, her husband?

Construction workers. Let them along at a bit.

Swain and Stringer.

The name came to me already familiar.

Your company is engaged in the parking lot, huh?

Right. I hope you are satisfied with our quality.

Cheops made less noise in the Parthenon. Signs.

Cheops is de man van de piramide.

He is at odd jobs. That's normal in construction.

Here. So good?

If you ask me ...

... Sheer lies.

It is one room with a view. Hopefully you guys do not cheat with overtime.

He thought it was his wife in America? - And that's what we believe.

What did Swain actually in that house? - Waterson's architect.

Swain joined him along ...

... To discuss the plans for one residential construction project.

A business meeting. - At midnight?

A business meeting ...

... Whereby the head of his wife against the walls burst.

What says Waterson?

He is with posttraumatic shivers sent to hospital.

You fall with your nose in the treatment.

Wield. Recherche.

I'll come back.

A friend of yours?

Pamela? No. A woman.

My wife. The only one I have. We live separately, but ...

You're still good friends. - That's very highly expressed.

I wrote everything and signed it.

Or should it be typed before the law?

No. It must be typed for the readability.

Sorry. My architect handwriting. Stylish but unreadable.

Tell me at what happened.

Gail threatened that she would commit suicide.

She freaked. Waved the revolver.

Philip wanted to get it. There was one bang.

I was "a little hysterical, they say.

We're still at along. If you have something to mind.

You're not hysterical.

Pascoe.

Waterson says the same thing as Swain. Leave it on to Mr Dalziel.

Thank Wield. I will. - I'll call later.

Doctor Marwood? Is Mr Waterson to you under treatment?

Wield. Recherche. How is he?

He takes this unnecessarily occupied one bed.

Why? - He came with Pamela at parties.

He is cocky and one adulterous spouse.

And medically? - Physically, everything is fine.

And psychologically? - He has violent mood swings.

I would have him put in the madhouse.

Fortunately, that is not my department. But this does.

Watersons story is similar to that of Swain.

They say two healthy guys ...

... Could not prevent one hysterical woman committed suicide.

And I would be a liar. I know what I saw.

After your testimony, we can ...

As a witness you have to give an explanation.

Dit is m'n verklaring:

Philip Swain is a bastard who killed his wife and I will contrive to get. Point.

Sign it.

In the beginning I wrochtte this wide world ...

... With forest and wind and water ...

... Heaven and hell were not disguise ...

... With crop and grass I made a beginning ...

... But of the tree of good and evil, I said:

When you eat these ...

... Then ye hasten to sin ...

... Then you throwing away all your luck

Sound okay? - A direct connection to the top.

yet they do not think that death is their part ...

... All I ever foretold ...

... Is now filled by prophecy ...

... And therefore the time has now come ...

... To put an end to the folly of man

Amazing.

Are you the lady of the stage? - I'm coming, Reverend.

Can you that woman?

She has a wonderful modern version made of The Gondoliers.

If they let the King James Bible but in peace.

Mr en Mrs Horncastle. Ik ben Eileen.

This is Ellie. She does the PR for this spectacle.

Unsalaried. - You can not serve both God and Mammon.

You talked about a spectacle?

Yes we can. You and I are in the same industry.

A church service is pure theater. And theater is pure religion.

We celebrate the fact that we are human. - And we ever die.

I can not give you permission to use the cathedral.

Who goes there about things like that?

The chapter on the advice of the bishop.

The central committee. The Supreme Soviet. - Not my choice of words.

And you advise them?

Beautiful. Let me View as well.

What are you doing?

She's looking for someone for the role of God.

Everything okay with you? - Who are you anyway?

With me it's not bad.

Sorry. I like going to the chapel. It's a kind of flight.

What? - Away from all things that are not good.

De deur is open.

Sorry to bother you, Mrs. Waterson. You look tired.

I worked twelve hours. I was called after my service.

One that would relieve me had a car accident.

So it goes in the healthcare sector.

U bent vast 'n goeie. Zo jong en dan al hoofdverpleegkundige.

How young is young?

Late twenties? - Twenty-four.

I'm not good in ages.

Twenty-four and working in the shadow of death.

Try to live healthy. - I'll remember.

When you leave your husband?

Three weeks ago.

Because Mrs. Swain?

I did not know the name.

Only that she was blonde with long legs.

But when I saw you together ...

Hemeltjelief.

Weather crisis?

For you. My husband's the one lubricated.

Are you'm lost? - I need him not to arrest.

What did you think of him before him lost?

Relaxing. But he has violent mood swings.

Violently. A fancy word for proof.

Cause of death: severe brain injury as a result of ...

A perfect shot. Ingeniously of them.

Alcohol in blood: 155 milligram to 100 milliliters.

She had shortly before intercourse.

And she used heroin. - As Swain did not mention.

Seymour. Kom hier.

Did you Swain searched his house?

Have you found drugs? - Should it?

If you're a couple magotten had seen commit fornication, you would have noticed it fixed.

Probably.

Why did not you said that your wife was addicted?

She came from a wealthy Californian family. Drugs are just as alcohol.

It was definitely a problem. But I thought she was finally detoxed.

According to the doctors do not. Perforations more than one tea strainer.

And what about Waterson?

He is an architect. We work together on one housing.

And now he's off. Just when you'm needed. Of your friends you must have it.

The stories you are pale imitations of reality.

She say's: Only God can "make a tree.

All right, guys.

Outwards.

I stand by my earlier statement. I want it more comfortable programs draw.

All signs you a check twice, false remains false.

If you 'm want to sweat that you succeed anyway. And you see something overlooked.

He can speak the truth. - Philip Swain still lying in his sleep.

I can 's at him home go poking around.

Good idea. Take that young boy with you.

Give him a lesson in shrewdness and guile.

Hoor 's, Wield...

I'm looking for my client, Andy.

Wie? Blauwbaard of Crippen? - Philip Swain.

If you are ever quite'm in trouble, take him as a lawyer.

Eden Thackeray, redder van het addergebroed.

Are you shooting at? Then we pull a bottle open.

Come on.

I think we have the blessing of canon Horncastle.

Can he play God? - He thinks.

Are you going to him deceive? - Of course. It's a dirty hypocrite.

I think it 's brilliant hypocrite.

Then he can play John the Baptist, and then I delete that role.

You'd still have it with Andy about the role of God.

Welcome to Moscow Farm.

Especially because of the temperature. - I can income.

Who is she? - Shirley Appleyard. She does the office.

Miss Appleyard? - Mrs.

You look too young for a married woman. - Is not nineteen old enough?

Do you like it here? - It's work.

Jobs are few and far between. - My father's partner.

Mr Stringer. - Dat is m'n vader.

Is Mrs Swain often? - No, not often.

When was the last time? - Friday a week ago. She said hello.

It seemed like they took forever farewell. She went to America, huh?

She did not think she would see me here.

It's going bad. After that parking lot as we can to the junkyard.

Do you read many books? - I love books. Do you Jane Eyre?

It ends well?

Never mind. - Do you prefer a bad outcome?

That is lifelike. - Do you think?

Just ask Mrs. Swain.

There is also one at the barn?

Yes, but there's a woman hand needed to "open m.

Did you know that Mrs. Swain drugs? - She could buy what they wanted.

Why would she kill herself? - She married anyway?

Go ahead.

He is not used?

Mrs. Swain wanted there ?? n make-or squash fitness room. Typical American.

Mr. Waterson has made drawings.

Mr. Swain did not want it. There have always been agricultural.

There I see nothing of.

Mr. Swain has sold them as scrap. I had to laugh.

That middleman named Joe Swindles. Joe Con.

Kent u hem? - Die arme Joe. En of we 'm kennen.

What is that? - Bats. Pipistrelle bats.

They do nothing. They overwinter here.

And my father chased the rats.

You have certainly seen enough, huh?

Any more questions? - Where is Mr. Appleyard?

Who works far away, in London.

So you live alone. - No, with my parents.

Can you get along with them? - They are married and faithful.

If you are not religious? - God and I do not fall apart tricky.

Have you discovered something? - No, nothing.

Have you already found Waterson? - Spoorloos.

But I do know that he was ever convicted of possession of cannabis.

Something for the FBI and Interpol.

What is that? - Andy gets anonymous letters ...

... From someone threatening suicide.

That is 'in' this month. Suicide.

Time does not heal all wounds. Time is the great enemy.

Behind you see one last glimpse of your happiness.

In front of you luck in the offing.

You only see thousands of meaningless moments, one endless torture.

Does that sound like a man or a woman? - Andy thinks a woman.

They are written on one typewriter. That limits the origin.

I can even make it look lab.

I know something better. Let Ellie there 's look.

Is it here?

It's obviously such a party scene. - We promised.

White wine and nephews. Be careful that you do not lose your hat.

You dare not stoop to pick him.

Go 's talk with your husband, Ellie. Our gay boyfriend.

We leave you, but equally acquainted with each other.

The famous lady.

And you're the notorious Mr Andy.

Then we have but at introductions.

What does this bloke here?

Mr. Dalziel. - Is this part of the grieving process?

My wife loved theater. And Eileen would like to incorporate my company as a sponsor.

Corporal him as Satan. - I might have done.

Sorry, but I must. I'll see you later, honey.

So it is true, from Satan? - No comment.

You see me still.

No long speeches. I do only the solemn promise ...

... That your cathedral will witness the spectacular event ...

... Who has lived in this city for nearly four hundred years.

It's gonna be people producing, like those old mystery play.

Ordinary citizens pictures eternal drama of good and evil.

My special thanks go to the representative of the cathedral.

Therefore, I want to ask you a hearty round of applause ...

... For Canon Horncastle, who helped me so kind and patient.

Antichrist. Sabbath breakers. What a shameful spectacle this is.

Should not you do something, as a police officer?

That determines my number. - Like the church.

These people should not be involved in it.

Hello, I'm Eileen. This is my party. Welcome.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy for you. Exodus 20, verse 8.

The sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2, verse 27.

I do not afbluffen me with smart quotes.

And hypocrites I recognize anywhere.

That ordinary people that you mentioned, I'm here at all.

Councillors, members of the Rotary, university teachers.

Not ordinary and not religious. No Christian to confess.

Right. We should have it's over. But not on Sundays, huh?

Those that made it beautiful banner?

Beautiful letters. - She was always good at drawing.

We have a lot to talk about. Shall we take the agenda there?

She is a genius. Within ten minutes she pa, tired and daughter packed.

I envy her out. - Is jealousy no sin?

Could be. My husband knows that. But do not throw the first stone.

I throw solid mass.

Are we like, Andy, regarding God?

Philip Swain really take on the role of Lucifer?

Yes. Choosing the right actors is essential in stage.

What is the world is a mess.

Satan must have been someone like Philip Swain.

And God someone like me.

I'll drink to. I drink to the whole bunch.

Mr. Pascoe. - What are you doing here?

I told the guys brought their wages. Eileen's a good one, huh?

I believe so. - I help with the decor and costumes.

And does your father Noah? - No. She gets wood from him.

I got out of Jane Eyre. What a anticlimax. - Oh yeah?

She chooses to be a housewife. The domestic bliss. What a hoot.

Is de baas er?

No, but there has been such a letter. He has him put on your desk.

Where is it? - He needed urgently to get Dan.

I come increasingly under pressure because of Swain.

Especially friends in high places.

Not he, but his deceased wife. Gail Delgado.

The family in America wants the body is interred in the family tomb.

Did she have a family tomb?

That only confirms my theory.

Swain got no money 'r and when he has "killed r.

Two witnesses were talking about suicide. - Liars. And one is off.

How long will it do for you Waterson?

Up to 24 hours.

Head Agent Wield.

What?

My man in the hospital. He knows where Waterson is.

Dirty fagot.

We do not want you and your pals diseases are spread.

The next time you go to it.

all the mighty I made me the most right ...

... I will make you master and mirror of my power ...

... Ye ...

Staying.

you are staying here now ...

... To disturb the peace ...

... I call you Lucifer, the bearer of light ...

... The fire of joy "has ignited in me ...

... My magnificent glow radiates everywhere ...

... I offer one blazing, glamorous image ...

... I lift me like a gentleman in deez 'glory

You wish.

Stick to your rules, Andy. - Okay. I'll stick to the rules.

Still a time. From the beginning.

I've warned r.

So you're'm lost again.

Yes, he came with two others from the pub.

They got into a car. I got the license plate.

Fun for one T-shirt: they beat me black and blue, but I got the license plate.

Doctor Livingstone? - Marwood.

Mr. Wield may not have a visit. - I'm family.

Marwood doctor was the one who had called me yesterday.

I do not like it when one of my best people after one tip being beaten up.

Hard facts. Open visors. I love that.

Come on. That kid should not have a visit.

I heard Pamela phone. - Pamela Waterson?

She spoke with Greg off at the pub. She was talking about money.

That may have been innocent. Why did you Wield?

Because Pamela is a vulnerable woman and Greg handle hazardous types.

Can you her? - We are just friends and colleagues.

Calm down. We're both grown men.

Die auto is van Harold Park, String Lane 27 a.

Was that a monk? - The gnome? Yes.

These people buy it here 's what. Especially candles.

God knows how many candles they hunt through. God must know.

Personally, I have nothing with religion, even though I walk here with one cross.

Police? You do not have a uniform.

Otherwise I would have recognized you, but you said nothing.

I waited for one moment of silence. I'm looking for Harold Park.

Harold lives at 27 a. This is 27, without a. The green door in the back yard.

Now he is green. He was yellow. A terrible yellow.

He's not there. He is representative.

I say Prefer not to his face.

What he sells? - Pet Supplies. Pills for poodles.

He gave me one cat ointment. Great hemorrhoids. Not that you have them.

Ask if he calls me when he comes back.

My client knows that he has made his statement voluntarily ...

... Without coercion and strictly according to the rules.

Why do you say that?

Because he is one change would make to.

Should I'm reading? - No, you do not.

Let Mr. Lucifer, I mean Mr. Swain, but tell me the essence.

In his own words, what they may be today.

The essence.

I was holding the gun when he went off.

They were both stoned. Greg was hysterical, as you know, and Gail also.

She pointed the gun at me. I grabbed him firmly and turned it on her. I was scared.

Er was 'n worsteling.

She squeezed the finger gripped the trigger and the gun went off.

There is only one point with which I struggle and I am too decent to call it.

Formally, I killed her out.

And morally, I think.

I have nightmares and I will always keep.

That was formally and morally.

But what is legal? What are you planning, Eden?

Are you going to play so that the manslaughter or accidental death?

My client thinks that Mr. Waterson will confirm this story ...

... When he comes with his statement.

If Mr. Waterson himself will come.

Does your client'm bribed or killed?

What is paramount is that this tragic case will be handled quickly ...

... So that the body of Mrs. Swain may be transferred to the family.

Incidentally, the Commissioner shares my concerns about the slow progress.

I know that.

Now get out, gentlemen. I have to continue investigating a murder.

An aide. I climb up in the world. - Thank you.

Thank you. My self-confidence could use a boost.

Why?

If a woman is always cheated, what does that say?

If I cheated on my wife, she would immediately apply for one division.

I'll stick to my commitments. I am a good Catholic.

Thee? - Nee, dank u.

Why you spoke with him off? - For him to give money.

How many? - Forty pounds.

What happened? - I gave him the money.

He liked it enough.

I said it was more than I could afford.

He became angry, so when I left.

He had multiple wives. You know their names, except Mrs. Swain?

Beverley King. I would put her at the top of the list.

Why?

She was the first, and so far the only one I caught him really.

Do you know where she lives?

She lives on one houseboat. I believe he called Bluebell.

A Bluebell girl.

Earlier one lellebel used drugs.

But I am firmly biased.

May I ask you a personal question?

Go ahead. I'll pretend you're a priest.

Are there men in your life?

Not the way you mean. It would "be a miracle if I had a child.

I am, as comedians say, born at a young age.

Where?

In such an outpost of the old British Empire where the army could clear debris.

Was your father a soldier? - Padre.

The soldiers loved God but that he bugged. Now I do.

When was that? - When was that?

When were you born?

This is one in-depth interview to the local newspaper.

But if you go in my life, you can go so deep that you drown.

Next question.

When did your interest in the scene?

At boarding school. And you may well highlight the following:

Everything else there was a waste of effort.

Do not mind me.

all the mighty I made me the most right ...

... I will make you master and mirror of my power ...

... You are staying here now to disturb the peace ...

... I call you Lucifer ...

... I call you Lucifer ...

... The bearer of the light

According to the autopsy it was an accident.

And Mr. Swain, Lucifer for his theater friends ...

... The remains of his wife to transfer ...

... To the family tomb in the United States.

And thus? - Case closed?

He thinks he's outwitting us.

Wieldy is somewhat difficult, but his brain is working very well.

Tell them yourself, limp.

I'm looking to see if we see something overlooked.

Especially with Mrs. Swain.

She would go ten days before her death to America.

Where was she at the time? What did she do, and with whom?

Meanwhile sin but everyone on the loose, and that suits me nothing.

I, your God, am a jealous God.

I, your God, do not opinionated thunder.

There, you also fall under, Pascoe.

Do you know anything about those anonymous letters?

No not yet.

My own fault. I should have burned.

All the burning fiery furnace.

Oh, that's right.

Philip Swain is such a firebrand.

Mr. Park. Back with a vengeance? - Yes, since this morning.

This is Mr. Pascoe, you know?

He was going to call you. - Yeah, I was going to call you.

Go away immediately? - I'm representing.

Then you are always on the go.

What's in those boxes?

Vlooienpoeder. - Vlooienpoeder?

Fleas.

It's not a flea powder, Harold. It is heroin.

It works, I think.

And they die one happy death.

Miss King?

No sign of life. - Nothing.

You would expect the remains of one meal.

A historical reference. The Marie Celeste.

May we dredges?

I think Greg and Beverley are underwater. There is no more money ...

Because the boss wanted to expand the parking lot.

Go ahead, Peter. I am saying that you did it on your own.

Sorry to bother. - Mr. Dalziel?

Right. Good book?

According to Mr. Pascoe did.

That says nothing.

Where we can be of service? - What?

I am not Pascoe.

Which enables leading questions, give you one reading list and homework.

I'm a nice police officer who wants to help.

What should I do?

Open a window on Philip Swain.

You might look for Tony to me. - Who can that be?

My husband. It's been three years of house.

Do you know where he is?

To London for work. - Just right. He'll let's hear what?

Until a year ago he sent money. And a ticket if the child's birthday.

Do you want him back? - Well no.

I want to know what he's doing now. I can close that chapter.

Sandcastles digging up?

We grave Crimpers Knoll.

There I once stole apples.

Are you going to build it? - Expensive villas.

For yuppies? - Something like that.

And the money? - My case is not.

Swain his case? - Why not?

Soupeer you if not with the devil? - He's my friend from school.

Come off it. He sat on an expensive gym.

From elementary school. - Very true.

And what about your son, Tony?

Why? - I'll find him for your daughter.

By all means. For her peace of mind.

I 'm not seen. - The truth, Arnie. God listens.

Just after Christmas, I was in London.

I had one address him. There he lived with a woman.

I told him the truth. If he does not stay away at Shirley and the child ...

Could not responsible for your actions?

En verder? - Dat was alles, Mr Dalziel.

If you think of something, I'm at the office.

Or else in the cathedral.

Still an hour.

Where are they?

Again.

Have you found anything?

A dog, a cat and two hamsters. - Guinea pigs.

You're looking in the wrong place. - There he will be pleased.

There you must look for.

Peruvian flea powder. Waterson bought the representative Park.

In the library, with one tanning pipe.

Why in the channel? - He was afraid that we would find it.

So he dumped it.

Harold Park got a thousand pounds of him.

With forty pounds they were not happy.

Another drug gang.

Do you have anything about Phil Swain?

Not now.

Then I go home, rehearsing my text.

Swain is not an obsession for you?

Logical. He is poor. - You can not prove.

I can say what I want.

And I say that Swain is not such an amateur crook Harold Park.

Someone like Swain you get but at one time. Bad to the Bone.

Prove it. - That is your job.

My sense, your brain. So it works.

I have on, yes.

Where are you going? - To house before I something ejection.

You think too much before you say anything.

You say everything without thinking.

My big mistake, says Eileen.

Moreover, I have received such a letter.

It's your business.

The first is from early January.

"I'm going to commit suicide." - After every three weeks, pretty much.

On Valentine's Day she changed her mind, and a week later.

He can 'r not stop. She would only tell him, like a confession.

A good Catholic girl. - This is Pamela Waterson.

I respect life.

Suicide is not a cardinal sin among Catholics?

Are you sure it's a woman? - Certainly, Peter.

In the final state: "Easy, Dalziel. The date is not yet fixed. "

She seems to know him. But not at all.

Everyone knows Andy, but not quite.

That's why he has thus burdened you.

These letters are governed and well written, but very emotional.

Andy does not show his feelings. - He puts them in his work.

"My feeling and your mind, Peter."

I do not know about you, but my brain does not want to.

You have not written them yet?

I had signed them. I'm not ashamed of myself.

Is that a clue? Shame on this woman for themselves?

So do most women.

And now to bed, Ellie said.

This is surely not for nothing? I can use my time better.

On Saturday? - I will soon have to rehearse.

No comment, or I'll knock your teeth broken.

I take it there briefly.

I do not work for Philip Swain.

Was his check is not covered?

That is the only reason for lawyers?

The check was on account of his wife, and approved by him.

The bank did not pay because the signature was forged.

Your ex-client tries to pay his lawyers with one forged check?

Apparently.

Do you have the evidence with you?

Where was that check exactly?

Transfer, authorization. Crimpers Knoll.

That's one many brown envelopes. - You say nothing against Philip, huh?

You're just like the rest. You do it in your pants for him.

The land of our dreams. - Stop dreaming about.

Who do go again.

They know.

Wie? - Dalziel.

Who knows nothing, and he can not prove anything.

Creep thinks he has me in his power.

I know the real ruler.

Who has money, always come to fruition. And thanks to Gail, we have plenty of money.

You're a good friend. But Dalziel ...

Forget him. This is for Shirley and your granddaughter.

From generation to generation, it says in the Bible.

There is so much in the Bible. Too much.

It will not let go.

I expect it to be a complete mess.

But that does not matter. The first time without text is always a mess.

Canon Horncastle Lucifer takes anywhere to Mr. Swain is.

If you have lost your text, can Ellie prompt.

Any questions?

What time do we eat? - That takes care of my wife.

In the north transept you can enjoy tea, sandwiches, get cookies and cakes.

Dorothy, you're a gem. - That's it for sure.

And I always will.

Excellent. Occupy start positions.

From the beginning. If you're ready.

In the beginning I wrochtte this wide world ...

... With forest and wind and water ...

... Heaven and hell were not disguise

And then you go up. - What?

Up on a scissor lift.

Then the artificial snow so you rises from the clouds.

I do not look like a scissor lift. I act only on the ground.

I'm still ten times higher, at the gallery.

I may be inspector, but I burst of vertigo.

Over tien minuten.

Where are you going? - Lucifer's in trouble.

You can not leave. - God is transcendent, though.

Just ask the canon.

God is everywhere. So even when I'm gone, I'm still there.

Swain's got a shock.

He deserved.

Are you going to comfort his wife and daughter but then I console Swain.

If someone falls for one huge bulldozer ...

... It must be logically explained.

He insisted.

That he could be sure?

I'm supposed besturen.'Het land of your dreams, "said hij.'Doe you it '.

A kind of ritual? - Yes. It was a man of rituals.

He insisted. And so I did.

And halfway up the slope of a sudden he jumped for it.

I could not stop.

Arnie said recently that he is still the way you did such a good friend.

That's good to hear.

Why would commit suicide that good friend of yours?

I want to confess something.

A little strong. - Sorry.

Those boxes should not be there.

Have you ever 's husband said to you:' Fuck you '?

"Fuck you"? Are you saying that it's against your husband?

Regularly.

Dirty limit.

We do not want you and your friends here spread diseases.

The next time you go to it.

Kan dit later?

Who is going to answer mess? - He sent me a Christmas card.

What is the gang leader? Small, goatee, earring.

Medwin. - I'll take that.

My condolences, Mrs. Stringer. Mrs. Appleyard. We could not do anything.

He was a good man. A good husband and father.

He deserved a better life. - I hope he goes to heaven.

Let me know if you want to go home. - Now, please.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We can not help them, huh?

Are you a lawyer, or we deal with it together?

Then you get no hassle with bad checks.

I want a lawyer.

Coffee and donuts?

I like donuts better than sex.

Each bite is surprising and they do not talk.

Canteen? Can I have coffee and donuts for ...

No thanks. - For one person.

In verhoorkamer A.

Are you coming?

Why are you doing this? Do not like football?

Of course. I'm always watching. I just do not like clubs in London.

Would you leave us alone?

You have a criminal record, huh.

Come on you 's in the channel?

What the hell. Was that you?

We did not know you were a cop. A chromite, we thought.

And then it may suddenly? - There is a difference.

Are you going to get your friends to beat me up?

You get a couple books to your head.

Nice.

Oh yes, before I forget: How was the funeral?

Peaceful. Worthy.

Neatly placed in the family tomb?

The ashes of my wife is in one urn, to be exact.

Cremation is much more hygienic.

I do not just like it. All the evidence is lost.

Shall we begin?

In mid-February you have a train beaten to smithereens.

The game against Chelsea. - Were you there?

Yes, but we went by car. - Who was behind the wheel?

A buddy of mine. He's stuck here. - He lies probably still better than you.

We gave a guy a ride. He works in London, in construction.

Sitting beside us during the game. He wanted to visit his family.

I want his name and address. - His name was Tony.

We put him off at Moscow Farm. That name I remember well.

Interrupted questioning. 15:47 pm.

How does it go from here?

Tony Appleyard came home that weekend?

Good, wieldy.

Peter? - With his daughter to the movies.

For one family life, ie no time.

Tony came home, yes. Arnie wanted'm not letting.

They went to the barn. There they came to blows.

The place was full of old farm machinery.

Tony fell backwards on one harrow.

One of the teeth pierced his chest.

Arnie called me, and ...

... I helped him to clean up the corpse.

'Phil Swain was 'n goeie vriend van me.'

It's all true.

Where are they buried, Phil?

It's only one.

Sorry. I misspoke me.

Where Tony Appleyard is buried? On crimpers Knoll?

On your new car.

What are they doing now?

It is a major disaster. - The poster is beautiful. She's good.

May they put up posters everywhere?

No idea. - Would you like to ask anything?

Fuck you, dear.

Is that your Tony?

Do you even care for this girl?

She's had a tough day.

Are you okay? - It is fortunately over.

We soon come to see you.

Do you bring her home?

I will only send the boys home?

Beginning about ten minutes. On that spot.

We found Tony Appleyard, right on that spot.

I should confess it right? And I always speak the truth.

You claimed that Tony had come home that weekend ...

... And Arnie had slain him, on one agricultural.

On a tandeneg, to be exact.

Beautiful. We like to be precise.

And you have him buried together Sunday night in the parking lot.

You're the contractor. If you are pouring concrete for one car ...

... How thick is it?

A centimeter or twenty? - Something like that.

But we have just seen you for a corpse or two feet need.

If at least it is not a fat guy like me.

Yes, about two feet.

Always nice to be right, huh?

There is much more to confess.

Wat is hier aan de hand?

We dig out the car. - I see. Why?

For the press, it's a gas leak. But we look for corpses.

Bingo.

If I may so express it.

We are coming.

This time it's a woman, Phil.

Are you coming?

Is dit Gail Swain?

Your wife?

She was not reported missing ten days, huh? She was dead.

Take him to my room and stay with him.

We go on digging?

Sure. It is just as tasty.

Do you think the next Waterson is? - Of course.

Not so. Standing there.

Take him quickly inside.

I called my wife. I needed money. - For drugs?

No, food. - What old-fashioned.

If you live on the street, you're gonna miss it.

She told about Arnie Stringer, and Phil was imprisoned.

She said I had to show me.

Cup of tea is worth it.

Even in the reverse order. How did you kill your wife?

That was an accident.

We had a fight. About money, or about Greg.

I've probably sold her one blow. Or one push, actually.

She banged her head against the radiator.

And then she was dead, actually.

The section will fix it all.

And that was ... - Saturday February 14th.

Stringer same weekend that his son accidentally killed?

And on Sunday you have them both buried?

And when you said that she had gone to America.

That was her plan. She's just ...

... Not gone.

Logical. That was a little difficult in that state.

And where have you kept the body?

A practical question. Where have you kept 'r ...

... After that unfortunate collision with the radiator?

In the wine cellar.

Nice and cool, sure. - There you have a wine cellar.

And Beverley King, which we first mistook for Mrs. Swain?

Dat had Greg Waterson bedacht.

That was Phil thought. - No but.

Beverley was 'n blok aan m'n been.

A relationship with one heroin addict costs a lot of money.

Maar Phil had 'n goed plan.

It had to look like suicide, and then it was supposedly his wife.

What will they be surprised in the family grave.

But Phil was the one who invented this? Not you?

I'm not smart enough to be so bad. I'm just an amateur.

Phil 's bigger villain than you?

He's the big boss.

The king.

Swain continues to deny that he killed someone.

He is many times complicit.

I want to catch him for murder. It does not matter which. For personal reasons.

Vanity of vanities!

All is vanity. In one go, Peter.

In February you bought scrap Swain. - It is there in the corner.

Is that a tandeneg?

Looks like it. You can also comb your hair with it.

Is it worth much? - It is antique, and that brings much.

And manure fork? - He wanted from.

I'm doing you a golden offer.

An offer from you, I would never dare to refuse.

I bring you good tidings.

Let the sun shine for me.

We found the pitchfork. - The manure fork?

Which you impale Tony Appleyard.

That is the cause of death, given the evidence.

We have bloodstains, fingerprints ...

... And DNA evidence, whatever that means.

Why would I murder Tony Appleyard?

Because he and Arnie Stringer ...

... Went into the barn to talk out of a fight.

There they found your wife's body.

My wife was not quite in that barn.

I already told you? She was in the cellar.

You lied. And we can prove it.

The laughs ever red:

We bat droppings found in d'r clothes.

Bats poop? - Bat Shit.

Bats poop.

Pipistrellus excrement, possibly.

Let's all filth behind.

But I have a big scoop, Lucifer.

Dear Mr. Dalziel. April is the cruelest month, said the Great Man.

T.S. Eliot.

The walrus says it is time ...

... To stop this charade. - I have a deadline.

She wants to commit suicide today. - Is that a copy?

Let it lie, then I look so well. Did the police itself an idea?

Three, to be exact.

Here the confession ends today

Mrs Horncastle?

Mr. Pascoe. How are you doing? - That I can ask for better.

Excellent. I followed the advice of one emancipated woman.

The devil had one earring lost.

We make everything ready for the dress rehearsal.

Dat is showbusiness.

She seems to know him. But not at all.

I'll just see how it goes. These are difficult times.

How kind of you.

I miss my father. But life goes on, right?

Without her I would not have made it.

A good Catholic girl?

Dat is Pamela Waterson.

Sorry to bother you, Mrs. Waterson.

I'll just see how it goes with you.

Thank you. It goes well with me.

These letters are governed, well-written and very emotional.

De première is in april. April is de wreedste maand.

And the walrus says it's time to end this charade.

Not a word, Peter.

Where is Eileen? - Up there.

If I create light, they do it.

You have been slow.

We were busy. Many dead, and so on.

Death is the only way. - Nonsense.

Comedy is tragedy from a distance. That is Chaplin.

We do it all for that? People like Chaplin and Eliot?

And God, possibly. They only offer resignation.

And the mysteries only offer mystery.

And love? Ellie and I need you.

Love? Need? Nice try, Pete.

Hang but not a hero.

You do not have to prove anything.

Ellie is the proof of your goodness and compassion.

Calm down. Stay calm.

I must prepare things for Damascus.

Music.

Clouds.

God.
