I was pleased to receive,

I soon saw the character

Things came to a head
a few nights later.

no other alternative

than to rig the gallows.

That was the most terrible
decision of my life.

for the sake of my duty

that owing to difficult

about the mutinous plot
led by Midshipman Spencer,

what did you think?

and had amused himself
