Proof Is Out There."

Was this the first footage
ever shot of a genuine UFO?

- In 1950, the newly
independent Air Force

was already taking these kinds
of sightings very seriously.

- [Tony] Could this
strange mummy really be

the remains of an alien?

- She does, in fact, have
tridactyl hands and feet,

which only display three
fingers and three toes.

- [Tony] How did one man survive

the deadliest plane
crash of 2025?

- That someone could walk away

from this disaster
is impossible.

- [Tony] And did this photo
capture a real-life ghost?

- This stands out as one of
the most famous ghost photos

of all time.

- [Tony] Around the
globe are videos.

- Oh, there it goes.
- [Tony] Photos.

And sounds
that defy explanation.

- We don't
know where they come from,

who made them,

or how they operate.
- [Tony] What are they?

- Some sort
of bizarre mutation.

- What's exciting
is nobody really knows.

- Extraordinary claims
need extraordinary proof.

- I'm Tony Harris, and
as a journalist for more

than 30 years, I've followed
the facts where they take me.

- [Tony] Now I'm bringing that
spirit of investigation

to the world's strangest
sounds and images.

- It's coming toward us.
- We'll analyze each one

with top experts.

- It's a credible case.
It's a credible video.

- [Tony] And pass a
verdict on what it is.

- This video was clearly faked.

- "The Proof" starts now.

[dramatic music]

Good evening, and welcome
to "The Proof Is Out There."

Back in 1947, pilot Kenneth
Arnold reported nine flying

objects over Washington state.

He didn't get a photo.

But his account alone kicked off

the first flying saucer craze.

Just a few years later,

the very first
motion picture film

of an alleged flying
saucer was shot.

The footage made a huge splash.

And now it's time for
us to take a look.

- [Tony] It's June 1950 in
Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville Times
staff photographer,

Al Hixenbaugh

intends to film some birds.

But a roaring engine
overhead draws his attention

to something far stranger.

He points his 16-millimeter
movie camera skyward

and films this.

A DC-3 plane crosses

the frame, unmistakable,
steady, conventional.

But then a strange
circular object appears.

- It's a dark orb, but it
looks like there's kind of

this glowing halo around it.

It looks like it's
floating and shifting

and almost dancing a
little bit through the sky.

And in 1950, just the
fact that anybody saw

this was enough to
capture headlines.

- [Tony] This UFO story spread
from The Louisville Times

to papers across the nation,

the footage going
down in history

as the very first motion
picture of a flying saucer.

- [Amy] This was taken
in a time when UFOs

were on everybody's mind.

In 1950, the newly
independent Air Force

was already starting
to investigate UFOs.

One early project
was Project Grudge,

and reports show that there
were actual investigations

and intelligence reviews
suggesting that the Air Force

was taking these kinds of
sightings very seriously.

- [Tony] In fact, the Air Force

took this Louisville sighting

so seriously, it tried to
get a copy of the film,

according to
unclassified documents.

We don't know how that
investigation ended,

but we do know some people
maintain this is a UFO,

partly because of that glow.

- Some suggest the corona is
proof of an energy signature

from a particle accelerator
that is allowing this object to

travel through interdimensional
gateways like wormholes.

So some wonder whether
the glowing aura is enough

to legitimize this as
a true flying saucer.

- [Tony] And if it
is a flying saucer,

it's one of the few that's
been documented flying

on its side.

- It looks like it's
almost on the side,

or we're looking at
the undercarriage

of a traditional UFO.

- [Tony] It's reminiscent of
another photo taken in 1967

in New Mexico, which shows
an alleged flying saucer

in the same position.

- Traditional UFOs
move horizontally,

but some wonder whether
this could be another type

of UFO that went out of fashion

because it hasn't been
reported as frequently.

- By the early 1950s,

many businesses had
figured out how to cash

in on America's flying
saucer obsession.

From early frisbees to
ice cream sandwiches,

if the product was round,

it was probably marketed
as a flying saucer.

Let's see if our experts
think this historic footage

is also worth the hype.

[tense music]

- [Tony] First, a reality check.

That other flying saucer
photo we showed you turned out

to be a hoax.

Could that be the case here?

- This historic footage has
a lot of things going for it.

Number one, we have a
witness who visually saw it.

Number two, I think that
the footage itself supports

the idea this was
actually in the sky.

What's difficult when you're
doing film to hoax something

is you're not just
looking at one frame.

At 24 frames per second,
shooting 50 feet of film,

that's about 2,000
frames of film.

So to hoax that, to
paint it, let's say,

into the image in
post-production

at the time period would
have been quite difficult

to do over so many frames.

So my conclusion is this is
something that's actually

in the sky.

- [Tony] Given the
circular shape,

could that something
be a weather balloon?

- Weather balloons
rise very rapidly,

and it's just like when you
let go of a party balloon,

it flies up in the air and
it moves with the wind.

So even though weather
balloons are very, very large,

they become visually
small very quickly.

So there's no indication that
this is a weather balloon.

- [Tony] But that
doesn't mean it's a UFO.

While West agrees this
is something in the sky,

he thinks it looks a little
different on the film

than it would have in real life.

- [Mick] I think what we're
looking at here is an artifact

of film development and film
exposure called solarization.

And this happens when the
film is exposed to the sun.

If you get too much sun,

it can basically break
that development process,

and it can strip away the
silver crystals from the film.

And that has

the same effect of them
not being exposed at all.

So instead of seeing a
white disk of the sun,

you see a black disk of the sun

because of it being overexposed.

I think when he got
back to the darkroom,

when he developed this film,

the sun came out
black because it

has overexposed these
silver crystals.

And perhaps at that
point, he then decided

that he was going
to call it a UFO.

But I think he pretty much knew

that what we're
looking at was the sun.

- Our verdict? This
is a film artifact.

Specifically, a solarized
image of the sun.

It turns out other
local reporters

doubted Hixenbaugh's
credibility.

They even told officials he'd
faked a UFO photo before.

So we can assume his
sensationalist story was spun

to sell papers, not to prove
flying saucers were real.

Let's turn now from UFOs
to aliens themselves

and the mysteries surrounding
Peru's Nazca Lines.

They are one

of the world's most enduring
archeological mysteries.

There's a theory
they were created

by nonhuman intelligent beings.

It's been dismissed by skeptics.

But could a new discovery
change the conversation?

- [Tony] It's 2015 in the
Nazca region of Peru.

According to news reports,

a tomb raider exploring

an unnamed cave uncovers
strange remains.

They're studied

at the Inkari-Cusco Institute
for archeological research.

The human-like figure appears
to be covered in a dry,

chalky powder that's
described as fossilized algae.

Nicknamed Maria, she
has an elongated skull

and very unusual appendages,

reminiscent of descriptions
of the classic gray alien.

- She does, in fact,

have tridactyl hands and feet,

which only display three
fingers and three toes.

- [Tony] Yet what's most
unusual is that she has finger

and toe prints like these
that look very different

from most humans.

- [Ken] What we're seeing
here is kind of very straight,

horizontal skin ridges,
or dermatoglyphics.

Human fingerprints
tend to be curved.

- [Tony] Peruvian
journalist Jois Mantilla

says radiocarbon dating

indicates she's over
1,700 years old,

and tests of her DNA
say she's not human.

[Jois speaking in
foreign language]

- [Tony] Since there are all of
these strange discrepancies,

could we actually be dealing
with an alien life form?

Let's get some expert analysis.

[tense music]

We'll start with those
odd fingerprints.

They don't seem to fit from
an evolutionary standpoint.

- Fingerprints help
us not to lose grip

on slick items
like, say, a glass,

because it helps us adhere
our fingers to that surface.

For Maria to have
fingerprints like this,

she would not be
able to grip things

the way that we grip things,

and so, I don't see how that
benefits her in any way.

- [Tony] And what about
that strange elongated head?

- [Kathy] This body was
found in Nazca, Peru,

where the culture there
is very well known

for head binding, where
they would bind the head

of an infant and then cause
it to be more elongated.

Almost all of those burials

have this type of
elongated skull.

- [Tony] But there's a detail
that raises red flags overall,

that chalky powder on the body.

And we still haven't explained
these odd appendages.

Well, upon closer
inspection of those scans,

it appears all is
not quite as it seems

with this skeleton, starting
with that powdery substance.

- It's really suspicious

that there's this white
coating all over this specimen.

It seems like it would
be a great way to hide

anything that was
created artificially.

- [Tony] Artificially
created? The CT scans say yes.

- The bones of the hands
and feet match human bones,

but it simply looks
like the thumb and pinky

have been removed.

And it appears that other
fingers have been attached

to the three main fingers
to make them look longer

than they are.

We know this is a hoax
because the CT scans reveal

that they are human appendages,

but they've been modified to
create this alien appearance.

- [Tony] Oh, and about that DNA.

Subsequent testing by a
Canadian team indicates

the bone samples tested
may have been damaged

and contaminated, making
any results unreliable.

Our verdict? This is a hoax.

The skeleton is human

and most likely tampered
with in a disrespectful way.

- At the height of the
Cold War, the U.S. Navy

was on constant alert
for foreign threats.

But in 1952, something appeared

over a U.S. aircraft carrier

that crew members couldn't
explain, much less defeat.

- [Tony] September 1952, the USS
Franklin Delano Roosevelt

is conducting maneuvers
somewhere in the North Sea,

off the coast of Norway, as
part of Operation Mainbrace.

- Operation Mainbrace was NATO's
first major Cold War naval

exercise involving
hundreds of ships

and aircraft operating in
coordinated, monitored airspace.

- [Tony] It's about 4 p.m.,

and news photographer
Wallace Litwin

is on the forward flight
deck when he notices

a white sphere floating
hundreds of feet above the ship.

He snaps three exposures.

Two are developed
into film slides,

where we can see a tiny orb
hovering alongside the clouds.

And one is enlarged
into this photograph.

- Here's the conning tower
of the aircraft carrier.

And then up here at the top
left side of the photograph

is this luminous
object, this ball.

Now, we have no idea
what this is, other

than allegedly, according
to some people that were

on the USS Roosevelt,
that this was a UFO.

- [Tony] There's more.

Later that day, officers
at Air Base Karup

in Denmark see
something similar.

- Three Royal Danish Air
Force officers sighted a UFO

at about 7:30 p.m.

The object was a shiny disc
with a metallic appearance,

and it passed overhead from
the direction of the fleet

and disappeared in the
clouds to the east.

- [Tony] As if that weren't
enough, Royal Air Force officers

are seeing silvery
round objects, too.

First, over RAF
Topcliffe the day

before Litwin took his photos,

and then above the North
Sea a day or two after.

- [Luis] So, you had a lot of
different perspectives,

a lot of different people
from different backgrounds

and different
countries reporting

something very, very similar.

So, clearly, there
was something there.

- In that setting,
anything unidentified

above a U.S. aircraft carrier
would not be a curiosity.

It would be
operationally relevant.

- This is a problem.

Whether it's
technologically a problem

because we're trying to
keep our trade secrets,

or this is an air safety issue,

no matter how you slice and
dice this, it's a problem.

- [Tony] First, isn't this
just a simple film artifact?

- Because of the fact

that the gentleman got
multiple photographs

of this object, and it
apparently had moved

to a different position,

those are indications
that it is not a defect.

- The other thing we have to
consider is that Litwin took

this photograph because
this object was in the air,

and he wanted to
take a picture of it.

So, I think it's unlikely

that this is a
photographic artifact

in this particular case.

- [Tony] The U.S. Air Force
looked at this sighting as part

of their multidecade
UFO investigation,

Project Blue Book,

and they dismissed
it as a balloon.

Were they right all along?

- [Rich] It could be a weather
balloon.

In the context of the
actual initial statement

by Mr. Litwin, the photographer,

apparently there was
a weather balloon

that was not launched
at that time,

but a half an hour earlier,

and that was his
initial statement.

Later, as time goes on, and
he's retelling the story,

it says that there was no
weather balloons up in the area.

- [Tony] So, whether or not
there was a weather balloon

is debatable, but
this much we know.

Weather balloons rise at
about 1,000 feet per minute,

so we can say

that a weather balloon launched
30 minutes earlier would

have already been much too
far away to photograph.

So, the big question is
still lingering in the air.

- Could it be a
UFO? Well, maybe.

I mean, there have been reports
of spherical-looking UFOs.

- [Rich] This was an extremely
large multi-nation operation

that would have been
very interesting to a lot

of the objects that keep
showing up around a lot

of our military exercises.

- [Tony] That pattern
continues to this day.

In 2026, the Pentagon
released dozens of UFO videos,

many of which were shot
near naval military assets.

- [Rich] And so, it's very
logical that you might

have had a case where
that was an unknown

that was visiting this
military exercise.

- We are going to have to
disagree with Project Blue Book

and call this one unexplained.

Balloon or UFO?

Both remain possible, but
neither can be confirmed

from the photo and
conflicting accounts alone.

Now, let's change the
subject from ships to planes.

From time to time, we feature
unlikely survival stories.

This one happened during
the deadliest plane crash

of 2025, when a sole survivor
walked away from the wreckage.

The question is, how?

- [Tony] It's June 12, 2025,

in the western Indian
city of Ahmedabad.

At 1:38 p.m., all 12 crew
members and 230 passengers

have boarded Air India Flight
171 en route to London.

Seconds after taking off and
steadily gaining altitude,

the plane descends sharply.

It disappears from view. Then
an explosion signals its fate.

- The Air India flight
went up in a fireball.

Temperatures went to
2,700 degrees Fahrenheit.

- I was horrified when
I saw this on the news,

and I was like, [speaking
in foreign language]

That's what Hindus usually
say when someone passes away

is [speaking in
foreign language].

"Let their soul rest
in peace," essentially.

- [Tony] Tragically, 241 people
on the plane and 19 people

on the ground are
killed in the crash.

And yet, cameras
capture one passenger,

40-year-old Vishwash
Kumar Ramesh,

who appears to walk away from
the wreckage almost unharmed.

- If you were to
present this scenario,

it would be considered
forensically impossible

for anyone to have survived it.

But Mr. Ramesh did survive it,
thus defying the impossible.

- For me, seeing that crash
and seeing him survive,

it was a miracle.

It could be God saved him.

- [Tony] There have
been some other

unbelievable plane
crash survival stories.

In 1971, a passenger plane
broke apart over Peru,

and 17-year-old Juliane Koepcke
fell more than two miles

into the Amazon.

Against all odds, she
lived. The explanation?

Updraft from a storm,

along with a jungle canopy
cushioning her fall.

But what saved Mr. Ramesh?

- [Mitch] Mr. Ramesh was seated
in 11A.

Devotees of numerology point out

that some years earlier,

there was another
plane crash survivor,

the Thai singer-actor
Ruangsak Loychusak

survived a plane crash in 1998.

And he too occupied seat 11A.

- Numerologists believe
the number 11 is linked

to heightened awareness
and perception.

Does that have anything to do
with how Mr. Ramesh survived?

Or was there
something else special

about where he was sitting?

[tense music]

- In this case, I can't say

whether there's something
magical about seat 11A.

But I do have a theory
on why Ramesh survived.

When the plane crashed,
Ramesh was in seat 11A.

He was able to escape

through the broken-open
emergency exit,

which happened to be right
adjacent to his seat.

The plane broke apart,
and his part ended up

in a hostel.
It came to rest there.

And he was able to
get out of his seat

and just walk right
out of the airplane

before it filled with fire
that essentially would

have spelled his doom.

- In both this India
flight and the Thai flight,

both survivors were
positioned by the exit,

which I think was key to
both of their survival.

- Our verdict?

We're going with very
fortunate seat placement.

Still, considering that
Ramesh didn't just survive

but was able to walk away
from this catastrophe,

if you want to call this
a miracle, we won't argue.

- Some ghosts are so well known,

they've become semi-celebrities.

The one allegedly captured
in this next photo

is so legendary, it's been
investigated since the 1930s.

And now it's our turn.

- [Tony] September 1936,
Norfolk, England.

Two photographers for
Country Life magazine

are taking pictures at
the fabled Raynham Hall,

long reputed to be haunted.

While setting up a shot
on the grand staircase,

they say they see a
vaporous form on the stairs.

And they're able
to capture this.

- As opposed to a photo that
has the presence of orbs

or is more of a mist,

this photo has what you
can clearly determine to be

this full-bodied apparition
descending the steps,

which is effectively why
this stands out as one

of the most famous,

if not the most famous,
ghost photos of all time.

If I saw this apparition
coming down the steps,

I would be torn between wanting
to take the photo and try

to interact with it versus
the natural impulse to scoot

the heck out of there.

- [Tony] Legends of this ghost
go back hundreds of years.

And it's nicknamed the
Brown Lady of Raynham Hall.

- The Brown Lady of Raynham
Hall is believed to be

the spirit of Lady
Dorothy Townshend.

And according to legend,

she carried on an
affair with the rival

of her husband,
Charles Townshend.

And as punishment,
she was entrapped

within the manor, locked away
until the time of her death.

Now imagine Dorothy being
locked away for so long up

until the time of her death.

Of course, there'd
be strong emotions,

including frustration and anger.

And according to some
paranormal theories,

that emotion lingers
and carries forward even

in spirit form.

- After her passing, stories
of her spectral form haunting

the manor spread
throughout the area,

with some members of the staff
reportedly leaving in fear.

- [Aaron] So, in 1836, we have
this Royal Navy officer,

Captain Marryat, who
sets out to poke holes

in this ghost story and
decides he's going to sleep

over at Raynham Hall.

On the third night,

he encountered this specter
clad in the brown dress

and looking precisely like
Lady Dorothy in her portrait.

The captain sees the
specter moving toward him,

and he is

so afraid that he pulls out
his gun and fires a shot.

But the bullet passed right
through the spectral form.

King George IV decided
to stay at the manor,

and he encountered what
he described as "a woman

in this tattered dress
with an ashy paleness."

- [Tony] Now we put the
question to our experts.

Is this a photo of
a ghost or a hoax?

- One possibility here
is that we're looking at

a light leak.

This is when a camera has
some damage to some part

of it, and light leaks into
a component of the camera

that shouldn't have
that much light there.

This manifests itself
as bright smudges

of different sizes and
shapes on the photograph.

Unlike many examples
of light leaks,

this one has more of a
contained and distinct shape.

Usually light leaks would
be on the edges or sides

of the image.

So it is interesting
that this apparition,

if that's what it is,

is really toward the
center of the image.

- [Tony] Many believe
that this was no accident.

It was an intentional hoax,

and the shape of the apparition
reveals how it was done.

- Another possibility
of how this could

have been created is to
place something like a statue

and remove it during
a long exposure.

The motion blur
from you removing

the statue actually
would not show up

if you move fast enough.

- I actually did an experiment
to try to replicate this.

This is a long exposure
on this camera here,

and I just recorded
what happened.

So what I did was I went
and I stood on the stairs,

and I froze there
for 15 seconds.

It had a 30-second exposure,

so I'm on the stairs for
half of the exposure,

and when those 15
seconds were up,

I ran out of the shot and just
waited another 15 seconds.

This is what actually turned out

from that little
experiment I did.

Here is me standing
on the stairs,

and you can see that I
am a transparent ghost.

So, I think this is definitely
a possible technique

that someone could have used
to fake that particular photo.

- Our verdict? Hoax.

Mick West's test
shows how easy it is.

As for those accounts
of the ghost appearing

to people, those
remain unexplained.

- We have investigated
strange ancient structures

from all over the world,

but the one you're about to
see has defied explanation

for almost a century.

- [Tony] It's 1937 in Salem,
New Hampshire.

Insurance executive
William Goodwin purchases

a 106-acre plot of farmland.

While hiking his new property,

he comes across beguiling
rock formations.

[ominous music]

- He looked at these walls
all over the 106 acres.

They twist, they bend,

they have big slabs of
stone stood on their end.

They have big stones
that are flat,

that are stacked
up horizontally.

And then they have monoliths,

what we call America's
Stonehenge today.

- [Aaron] According to William
Goodwin, the site's low,

roughly human-scaled
stone walls were evidence

of pre-Columbian settlers
from across the sea.

He believed there
were Irish monks

that were fleeing Viking
raids and traveled across

the Atlantic to establish
a monastery here.

- [Tony] In the decades
since Goodwin's claims

about the site's Irish origins,

alternate theories have emerged.

- [Aaron] One of the most
provocative origin theories

about the site comes to us

from the 1976 book "America
B.C." by Barry Fell,

who argued that America's
Stonehenge actually preserves

evidence of Iberian settlers
who had arrived as far back

as first century B.C.

- [Tony] Or perhaps the
builders were here already.

- [Dennis] Some now suggest
Native Americans,

because they were here
for over 13,000 years

in New Hampshire.

But if there was any
tradition of stone building,

it had pretty much disappeared
by the time of, say,

the Plymouth Plantation in 1620,

or even a little bit
earlier than that.

- This massive stone at
the center of the site

has been called the
Sacrificial Table,

suggesting it was used
for a blood ritual.

And adding another
layer to this mystery.

So who made our local
Stonehenge, and why?

Let's ask our experts.

[tense music]

- [Tony] First, what about
those Irish monks?

- There are a number of reasons
to discount that theory.

Irish monks were expanding

their territory around 1,000 CE,

and the first thing
they would do is create

their monastery and these
very signature Irish towers,

very tall, circular
at the bottom.

Every single Irish
monk site we know of

has that signature tower
or multiple of them.

And in the case of
American Stonehenge,

there's not a single building
that looks like that.

- [Tony] What about the claim

that this is an
Iberian settlement

from the first century?

The answer might be
found in stratigraphy,

the study of the
site's rock layers.

- [Ed] We see absolutely typical
Native American artifacts

in the lowest levels
of the excavations.

And it's not until
the European invasion

that we start seeing things
like porcelain and metal,

things that came from Europe.

So there is reason to believe,

just in terms of the
chronology and the stratigraphy

of the site,

that its original builders
were Native Americans.

It also makes complete sense
that if Native Americans

had started this
kind of construction

and made these shelters,

that the immigrants that
came from Europe may

have used Native
American foundations

to then build out more
European-style things.

- [Tony] So what was the
purpose of this site?

- One of the things here
that people have speculated

on what it was really used
for is this huge block

in the center

that some people call the
Sacrifice Table or whatever.

But it could be an area
where you cut up meat

or something like
a butcher shop.

Something that had
to do with the farm

that's surrounding it.

When William Goodwin bought
the farm in the 1930s,

he probably moved some
rocks around to try to get

into the true structure,

to get in underneath to
find out what was there.

So, you know, now
almost 100 years later,

those movements
kind of cloudy up

what the true structure is.

- The verdict?
Mixed construction.

Native Americans likely
started America's Stonehenge,

and Europeans built onto it,

which explains its odd features.

- Did giants once
walk the Earth?

To answer that question,

we're venturing into an
ancient Roman mystery in a pair

of shoes that don't quite fit.

- [Tony] It's July 2025 at
Magna Roman Fort in northern

England, after years of
painstaking excavation,

archeologists working at this
first-century Roman military

settlement make a discovery
that stops the dig cold.

Buried in a ditch outside
the fort is a collection

of shoes dating back
nearly 2,000 years.

- We're talking about 30
to 40 shoes right now.

Every fort has a series
of defensive ditches

that are right
outside of the fort.

And that's a common place

where, when a unit was,
let's say, leaving the fort,

they would actually
throw a lot of trash,

a lot of rubbish in there.

Like worn-out shoes was a
perfect thing to just go

into this ditch.

- [Tony] But a
closer look reveals

these aren't any old shoes.

- [Elizabeth] Immediately,
everyone said, "Wow,

these shoes are looking
very large, aren't they?"

Because they're
wider, they're longer,

their, just, their whole
feel is much larger.

Something like 50% are above
this kind of normal size.

You know, they're quite large.

- [Tony] The largest shoe

in the Magna Fort collection
measures 32.6 centimeters,

the equivalent of a size 15.

That means the man
who wore it could

have been nearly
seven feet tall.

For context, the
average Roman male

was about five foot five.

Did the Romans enlist giants?

It's not as far
out as it sounds.

- Nearly every civilization
from the South Pacific

to Siberia has an
ancient lore of giants.

There is speculation

that these ancient mythologies
were based on real beings.

- [Tony] If they were
real beings,

where did they come from?

Some wonder if they were
remnants of a species

of large humans
called Denisovans.

We know about Denisovans
from the handful of bones

and teeth that have
been found since 2008.

- [Mitch] The Denisovans were

a large-proportioned
prehistoric people,

and they had bodies that
were, for their time,

far larger than
typical Homo sapiens.

- [Tony] Another theory
is the shoes belonged

to modern humans, albeit
exceedingly large ones,

made to fight for Rome.

- [Mitch] The Roman historian
Cassius Dio reported legions

facing barbarian tribes of
incredible stature and strength.

Rome was known to
incorporate conquered nations

into its military.

So if there were hugely
sized Roman soldiers,

they might have come from
a conquered tribe that Rome

was able to enlist in
its own military efforts.

- There are accounts

of the Roman Emperor Augustus
displaying massive bones

and weapons in his
gardens and villas,

believing they belonged
to ancient giants.

To a Roman audience,
giants weren't fantasy.

They were history.

But is it possible the
Romans had actual giants

within their ranks?

- [Tony] First, were they
Denisovans?

The problem is the
fossils we alluded to.

They suggest Denisovans
were heavier than us,

but no complete Denisovan
skeleton has been found,

so it's unclear if
they were taller.

So did the shoes
belong to barbarians,

made to fight for Rome?

Maybe. But don't believe
the ancient stories.

- [Ed] Cassius Dio, like any
good historian that's writing

a tale worth hearing,

he may have inflated
the actual size

of how big these people are.

We do know that the people
of Northern Europe were

of larger size, certainly,
than the Romans,

so that was certainly bigger
than Romans, and large,

but to call it giant
is a bit of a stretch.

- [Tony] Then who did
these shoes belong to?

- [Ed] If the Romans want a fort
full of strong soldiers

that people won't oppose,

they were probably
specifically looking for

the largest people
they could find,

because they make
the best soldiers,

or at least the most
intimidating ones.

So it makes sense that the
Roman soldiers who would occupy

a fort would be of local stock,

and the local stock,

especially Scandinavians
and the northern part

of the U.K., were
much larger folks.

- They've taken the largest men

from the furthest territories
to guard against whatever

they were fearful of.

That group just happened
to have bigger feet,

and they kept them together.

- We agree with our experts.

The shoes belong to
local conscripts

of the larger variety.

By the way, when Caesar
invaded Britain in 55 BC,

he described Britons

as fierce warriors painted blue,

charging into
battle on chariots.

You can see why the
Romans may have called any

of the bulkier Britons giants.

On April 26, 2013, in
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico,

the crew of a United States
Customs and Border Patrol plane

noticed this
unidentified object.

It looked like a
metallic sphere,

and it moved quickly in
a loop around the airport

before heading out to the ocean.

And check this out.

It appears to splash
down in the water

before reemerging seconds later.

- What's even more incredible
is that it seems to morph

and change shape, and
then it breaks apart

into two separate craft.

There's no known Earth
technology that can do that.

This was a UFO that ended
up turning into a USO,

an unidentified
submerged object.

- [Tony] After this
mysterious video leaked,

a specialized team led

by our own Richard Hoffman
spent months conducting

a meticulous frame-by-frame
analysis of the footage.

- [Rich] It's a credible video.

The telemetry you see

on the screen showing GPS
location identically matched

what you had with radar.

There really was an aircraft.

- [Tony] Hoffman also says
the object is too small

to be a plane.

- If you look at the
individual pixels in the video,

it's about 3 to 5
feet in diameter.

- [Tony] Could it be a drone?
- [Rich] A drone doesn't have

the same heat signature at all.

I mean, there's no heat from it.

- [Tony] Maybe a balloon.

- [Rich] It was about
18-mile-an-hour winds from the

northeast, and this object was
going in opposite directions

from that, it's clearly not a
balloon. It's unidentified.

It's not from any place here.

- We initially determined
that this video captured

a genuine UFO or USO.

However, in March of 2025, AARO,

the Pentagon's All-domain
Anomaly Resolution Office,

concluded that these are
just a pair of sky lanterns,

not a single craft
splitting in two.

What did Richard Hoffman have
to say about that? Plenty.

- [Rich] You know what
a sky lantern is?

It's nothing more than a
bag that's got a candle

at the bottom of it.

Do you think a little
candle at the bottom

of that little bag is going
to stay lit for very long?

Its temperature
is largely black.

That says that it's got
an even temperature.

And would that little
candle make that image look

as black as it is here?

No. So we got a lot of problems
with their explanation.

- [Tony] In their report,

AARO also claimed
these objects never

fully entered the water.

It just appears that way.
Hoffman vehemently disagrees.

- They came up with a term
called thermal crossover,

which basically is saying
that the camera can't resolve

a difference of temperature
between the object

and the water.

So it becomes
invisible, if you would.

And you can clearly see

that there's no thermal
crossover effect here.

That's clearly at a different
temperature, and that camera

is picking up on that.

We're doing a lot more in terms

of our own independent
investigations into this thing,

and we don't necessarily
accept what they're saying

as being legitimate.

- So there you have it.

Hoffman stands by his
original assessment,

and we stand by Hoffman.

So we're keeping this
one as a genuine USO.
