All language subtitles for The Stimming Pool

Well, in a nutshell, it's uh, a Yankee woman, uh, going

through the Louisianna swamps and she's come across

after a battle dead bodies.

We assume she's just walking through another scene

of carnage, but the bodies start to move

and we learn her coming back as zombies.

And she of course, learns this herself just as they awakened

and now has to fight them.

And it all goes from there.

Blood and guts and gore fighting and stuff.

So how, how, 'cause in this drawing it's quite gory.

There's a lot of brains and eyeballs flying around.

Is this a bit like the movie?

Yes. Do you think we're gonna get away with it?

Oh, I'm pretty sure.

I mean, someone is so bad, it's actually enjoyable.

The thing is, it is. And the thing is the the anticipation.

The anticipation is great.

At the start of the film, we don't actually see the monsters

until halfway into the film.

We learn about the what's going on as the first half

of the film progresses and we learn the character's

nervousness and we learn what's going on.

Especially as one character, the main female character,

the heroine complaints to one drunken character.

I'm not saying you created those months, but I'm, I'm saying

'cause of your drunken stupidity

and leaving the caged door open.

You created the horrible situation that we're in now

and, um, can't wait.

At one point, uh, the character says sh got in the house.

And not only that, but we then learn

that the shoes also have toxic saliva.

Oh, that's right. Toxic saliva.

So they can one, basically the doctor at the,

at near the middle of the film says this pro,

we could not afford to get to so much as, even

as a scratch from these animals.

They are more poisonous than snakes.

One scratch is enough to kill you from them. Yes, yes, yes.

They are dogs with rugs over them,

but they do have puppet shots for closeups.

And they can be quite scary, especially if it's shown when

they nash at someone's leg and a bit of blood is shown.

Is it, could it get as gory as some of the other films?

No, it's a bit tamer compared to the others. Is as

Gory as this one?

No. See Bob Schomp do this one. The Dying Moon.

Um, again, a very obscure director who made

schlock films like The Killing Nun Trilogy.

What is The Killing Nun trilogy?

Basically Nuns and Zombies. I haven't seen the films.

Well, there has been Nazi Zombie films.

of the most degrading content you'll ever see in the history

Has overtly serious facial expressions,

does extremely well at few tasks,

but does not do well at most other tasks.

as hand flapping or rocking.

and ends up talking about certain subjects.

Sometimes talks to people with an unusual tone of voice.

For example, talks like a robot when giving a lecture. No

and like chess character

to like make people aware of it. Yeah,

But chess can, can handle those.

Yes. Yes he can. Yeah. That's the difference.

Take himself to a quiet space if it becomes too much.

Yeah. Yeah. And the wind blowing through here. Yeah.

So what other kind of superpowers would you

say that chess has? What

Sensitivities he has? He has vision

so he can, he can see the past,

present, and future.

So for example, if he goes back to an abandoned space, such

as a swimming pool, actually like him

and he remem he remembers how it used to be in the past.

Right. And then actually like he can vision

what it was like in the past, then he can actually vision

what it's like now.

Okay. So then he, and then he takes his vision

and does he try and do something about that?

Yes, he does. Okay. Okay.

So what's happening in this scene? What's the vision?

He's in a pub.

He, um, basically, okay, so he's in, um, like,

and there's lots of noise around

and he can, he's picking out in all different areas

of the pub what's going on.

So there's like arguments, there's people chatting

and then, um, I'm like meeting up with friends

and then there's people who are happy as well.

So he's able to block out certain Yeah. Block

Out c certain areas which are becoming

a bit too noisy for him.

Yeah, sure. And pick out actually what I'm like, um,

like when, because he's sensitive actually like him

a certain actually like, uh,

our conversation that's going on.

Okay. Right. That's the key bit, isn't it? Yes.

Being able to block out some of the other bits.

Where does chess go after the pub?

Because they're at the pub

and then I think we next meet them in

at the abandoned spaces.

Well I think they could linger in the pub for a bit

when the pub's empty.

Mm-Hmm. And we get them sort of watching over.

There's no one there. They're just

like this sort of presence. Mm.

What does chess think of the pub?

He thinks it's a bit overwhelming

'cause there's lots of people in there and lots of noise,

but he's, he's trying to shut out some of the noise, so, um,

so he doesn't get so stressed.

I feel like there's, as you know, Lucy said,

if he's getting stressed

'cause it is a very stressful scene, then

I can imagine him sort of just watching outside

and kind of saying, okay, I don't need to, I don't need

to join this space 'cause I don't feel comfortable here. So

I've, I've gotta go unfortunately.

How, how do you see the, kind of the gore

and the explosion?

How do you see that kind of playing out on camera

and the rotor, the rotoscope?

Um, well I wanted to, to make a colorful gore.

Um, an artful gore.

I would say I, I presume almost psychedelic and fluid.

Like there is a bit in Pink Floyd the wall in one

of the animation bits with they head being bashed in. Yeah.

Um, what are the costumes like for the soldiers?

So what's Jennifer gonna wear?

Confederates zombies were great. The Yankees were blue.

Okay. Dark blue. Okay.

Though occasionally, sometimes the confederates had red hats

like in the Battle of Burg. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Well, the steaming pool sounds more ambiguous, doesn't it?

'cause it's not

so I'd move my foot on the ground or I'd rock in my chair

and they, they sort of taught me out from doing that.

So that's why I actually don't,

I don't do anything like that now.

Sort of a built in sort of like a strain. Yeah.

as you would essentially find like a sort of deserted field

and have a, a rave.

Like it is like an illegal rave

except it's in a swimming pool.

It just made it perfectly well. So you watch the Producers

today and Monty Python flying Circus.

Yeah. What the other big great bit is

where they meet the neo Nazi and oh my gosh.

He's like, they have to join him

and he's like, he's singing some sort of German song.

They don't know what it is, but

they just kind of join in go.

They just pretend one says I was on the alberter hall

and he, they're had the director asks him, so what happened?

And he says, I didn't get it.

So they start telling their own sons. And one maning

S with the bang, with the boom,

with the bang, bang, bang, bang,

Boom.

Oh. And one man goes, we

bang with the boom

Bang ba bang. Boom.

Now you're dead. Now you're dead.

But what you have seen is actually part

of a whole feature length film,

which has sadly become lost to time.

It's a film called The Dying Moon, made

by a filmmaker called Bill Chomp.

He made films of schlock nature, um,

like the Is Killing Nun zombie trilogy.

Don't ask, but this one is a part

of one film he made, which became particularly not notorious

and even ended itself,

ended up being on the infamous video nasties list.

How did you find it? The question?

We found it in this abandoned ghost train ride.

A lot of friends of ours. And we showed films

that were left there and this was one of them.

And I thought, why not give others a chance to see it,

even if it is quite slightly unpleasant

or maybe even slightly is too small a word,

but as enjoyable content

and for something that you may not understand

but can still have a bit of a meaning, even if

that meaning evolves blood and guts and go.
