Me and my partner
decided to take a little break

and have a couple of days away.

On going downstairs, there was
a horrible smell in the lobby.

I said to my partner,

"oh, it smells like
somebody's died here."

So I backtracked out the door

and I looked through
the window.

I've noticed what looked
like a pair of shoes

which was down by the sofa.

Then it registered to me
that they were actually

on somebody's feet.

Emergency,
which service?

Hi, um,
I'm just phoning cos

I think there's somebody
on the floor in his flat.

I don't know whether
he's breathing or not,

and I'm not sure
whether anything

untoward's has happened to him.

Andover's
a small town.

It's not usual
for serious crime

to be taking place.

And it's certainly not usual
for a murder to happen here.

Are other people now in danger?

There was this young
blonde lady staying with him.

Seemed to fall
in love with her.

She was trying to be
like a model.

She's big into TikTok.

To me, there was
something different about her.

They are concerned
for her safety.

There is no trace
of her at this stage.

She may have been the
last person to see him alive.

She may have been an important
witness.

Where is she?

Andover is very close to
the South Downs National Park.

And then we're very lucky
to have really historic little

villages and towns that are
peppered across Hampshire.

Andover is largely
a military town.

It's the home
of the British Army.

Sadly, a lot of veterans
do have a lot of issues,

especially when they come out,
and they're on civvy street.

The rates of people
with mental health issues

or with drug or alcohol
dependencies is higher

for these people who've
had these bad experiences

within the military.

I'm just gonna keep
that underneath.

It's the story
of what happened.

All right.
Just prompt me.

Kim investigates.

Take one.

I'm the regional editor for
a group of regional newspapers,

one of which is the
Andover Advertiser.

The Andover Advertiser
is a local newspaper

reporting on all manner
of issues in the community.

Charity sales,
school fundraisers,

stories of human interest.

We cover a vast spectrum.

Andover is a small town.

It's not usual for serious crime
to be taking place.

It happens maybe once a year
if you're unlucky.

Round about midday,

the ambulance service
received a 999 call

from a resident
of a block of flats

on the outskirts of Andover.

The ambulance service notified
the police and so the police,

with the assistance
of the fire service,

broke into
that ground floor flat.

They found the body
of a white male

covered in a sheet or a blanket,

with a pillowcase over his head.

It was a very messy scene.

There was a lot of blood.

He'd been stabbed.

Slightly strange,

there was a fan in the corner
which was on,

and playing sort of,
across the body.

There was a theory
that the fan had been put on

to keep the body cool,

or reduce the length of time it
was going to take to decompose.

But there were also some
scrunched up handwritten notes

scattered around the flat.

And are clearly left there for
somebody to find and to read.

And they would have been seized
because they would yield

fingerprint evidence,
potentially some DNA evidence.

And also down the line,
maybe some handwriting evidence

that may be essential.

Other police officers
will be drafted in

to make sure that it's,
it's guarded

while it continues to be a scene
of ongoing investigation.

The crime scene investigators
will start looking for evidence

that's actually clues.

Are there any mobile phones
that are hidden in the drawers?

Or are there any computers
in there?

Any electrical devices that
might assist the investigation?

Forensic examiners are in
there spending hours

looking for any evidence

that will yield
any forensic potential,

whether that's fingerprints,
hair, DNA, blood samples.

and then photographers, they'll
be photographing things in situ

of the scene.

Wednesday's for us as a weekly
newspaper are really busy.

Most of our titles print
on a Thursday,

so we're really up
against a lot of deadlines.

And we had a few calls come
in to the Andover news desk

saying that they'd been past
this block of flats,

and there seemed to be a lot
of activity there.

What's going on?

So after that phone call,

I immediately messaged Jemma,

who, at that point,
was our senior journalist.

So when I arrive, immediately

there's a load of police
in the car park.

There's 4 or 5 vehicles.

Forensics were going in and out,

so immediately we know
something's happened,

it's probably likely going
to be quite a big story

that we're going
to want to follow.

She sent the photographs back.

You can see all the police cars
parked in the car park there

and there's a tent,
and that's a sure fire sign

that something really
serious has happened here.

So blood was clearly
surrounding the deceased

on the floor at the apartment.

And it was decided that a blood
spatter analysis scientist

would be called to the scene.

And they're used to show
where the attack took place.

Did it happen whilst the person
was lying down on the floor,

or was this some kind of fight
within the living room itself

with their movement around?

Are there any handprints
or fingerprints in blood as well

that might assist
to show kind of what happened

on that particular day?

The body is then removed
to the mortuary,

and on this occasion
it would have been taken

to Winchester County Hospital,

where a forensic mortuary is,

and so a post-mortem
would be conducted.

The victim was identified
as Stuart Crocker,

a 62-year-old male

who was an Army veteran

and had lived
in Andover most of his life

since leaving the Army.

We'd heard that a man called
Stuart had been murdered.

Then the police
confirm his details.

He was actually grandfather,

a father.

What could possibly have led
to this incident?

We'd all gone out
for dinner in St Marybourne.

Had Alicia with me as well.

Alicia is my daughter

got back to the house and there
is these two WPCs sat there,

and I've looked at her,
and I've said, "it's Stuart,"

and she's looked at me
and she said,

"shall we just go inside
and talk?"

They told us that Stuart had
been found under circumstances,

where they said
it could be murder.

And I just came out of the house

straight into the car
and went over to see Joseph.

There's a
knock at the door

and I opened the door,

and there's my mum and Alicia,

and they sit me down,
and they tell me that

a policeman had just been around
to their house.

And told me
that my dad was found dead.

Uh, um.

The look on that boy's face
that day will never leave me.

Will never leave me.

My mind raced
a thousand paces,

trying to cope
with what they were telling me,

and my lungs felt like
they were on fire.

And I was trying
so hard to breathe at the time.

But...

air just wasn't filling
my lungs.

And,

I just went to bed.

I just laid there for hours.

Still, to this day,

it's a struggle to believe
what had happened.

And I think I just cried myself
to sleep.

As soon as we published
the article,

That then provokes a lot
of response from the community.

So we're getting comments
on Facebook.

Some people are sending us
in pictures,

and that's when we start
trying to be able

to piece together what's
actually happened.

Having established who
the victim is,

Stuart,
on this particular occasion,

the important thing is to try
and find out

who's killed him and why
would they want him dead?

An incident room
would be stood up

and then start allocating
roles out to individuals.

There'll be teams to do CCTV,

there'll be teams
to do interviews

of any suspects
that are identified.

Have you got a suspect in mind?

There's a number
of what we call hypotheses

that we're thinking about.

Was this a burglary
that's gone wrong?

Was this a domestic incident
involving a partner?

Was it drug related harm?

Was it a pub fight
that Stuart's gone back,

and it's escalated into
some sort of violent struggle?

And on this particular occasion,

we know that the scene
wasn't broken into.

The police had to actually
force entry themselves.

So that can dismiss
the burglary theory.

Family liaison officers
are really important because

they'll be fed into the family
of the deceased

to provide information for them

and update them as to the way
the investigation is going,

but also establish
as much information as you can

about your victim.

I met Stuart
at the start of 1996.

I was going out one day
with a very dear friend of mine,

and on my way to hers
I had to pass the shops

and I saw this bloke,

and I was like, oh, he's nice.

And I just popped into my head,
I'm gonna marry that man.

So I've gone into the shop,
got what I've needed to,

gone down to my friends,

in walks this man,
and I'm thinking, oh my God.

So I looked at my friend
and I said,

"how do you know him?"

She said,
"he's my brother-in-law."

So yes, that's how I met him.

Um, saw him a few times
that week.

The following week he came back
to mine for a drink

and he never left.

It was just chemistry.

There was just something there,

but I couldn't tell
you what it was.

Stuart and I married at Andover
Registry Office in July of 97.

Stuart's mum was there.

His father was there.

It was a lovely day, Stuart
and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When Joseph was born,
that was when my life changed.

Stuart walked into the room

and there was the nurses
with this little boy.

He was so proud,
he was a very proud, dad.

Very proud,
he'd got his boy.

He wanted to show him
off to everyone.

He really did.

I was a very naughty child,

and I was always bouncing
off the walls with energy.

It was very hard
to look after at times.

I was always happy
when dad was around.

A lot of my time spent with him

was watching Star Trek on the TV

while I just cuddled with him, really.

Joseph was about six
and a half years old

when Stuart and I separated.

There had been a lot of things.

Stuart had lost his job

and life just wasn't very happy
that time.

And we were really
struggling money wise.

As time's gone on and Stuart's
drinking's got more and more,

I just thought,
I can't cope with this anymore.

So I asked Stuart to leave.

We were still friends.

He was still coming
over to see Joseph,

and that's how it stayed.

And then a few years ago,

he'd asked me if I would stay
as his next of kin,

and everything.

We was close.

The pathology
report established

that Stuart died as a result
of multiple stab wound injuries.

In fact, he had 26 in total.

The fatal injury was subjected
by a seven-inch knife

to the summit of the jugular.

Which, for me, indicates this
was a frenzied attack.

And it was estimated
that Stuart's life ended

in the early hours
of the 23rd of June,

five days before his body
was discovered.

To find out he'd been
stabbed so many times,

and it'd be so brutal,
was very shocking.

What happens in that
situation

is that the community
will very often end up panicked

about whether or not there's
a madman on the loose.

It's a small town,
quite rightly.

The public start to get worried.

Are they in danger?

What's really important,
though,

is there are potentially
witnesses

and potentially a perpetrator
living within that block.

And so the police would
carefully be going door-to-door

to see if they've seen or heard
anything unusual or suspicious.

I met Stuart Crocker

when he moved
in next door to me.

I've maybe known him about 8
or 9 months, maybe a year.

He just seemed like a bit
of a vulnerable bloke.

He was really kind, really nice.

We used to stand
and have a cigarette together.

My first
interaction with Stuart

was when he was moving in.

Stuart was similar
to me really in a way.

Lived on his own,
didn't bother anybody.

He was quite friendly, open,

and just seemed like
a little gem, really,

a genuine guy.

So it must have been a couple
of months before Stuart died,

and he mentioned to me
that he had a new girlfriend

and that there was this kind of

young blonde lady staying
with him.

We were introduced
to Winter Swan-Miller.

I think it was outside
of Stuart's flat.

She seemed friendly.

She was quite happy
to chat to me.

Told us that she'd moved in

and that she was staying
with Stuart.

Introduced us to the dog,

scrappy little Pomeranian thing.

Stuart seemed to fall in love
with her,

which seemed
to change Stuart somewhat.

I mean, they used to sit
in the communal garden together

and sunbathe
and have a bit of music going

and sort of have a drink and
a bit of a social time, really.

I did find that Stuart had
an issue with drink in the past,

which seemed to be coming back
and haunting him somewhat.

At one point,
I think Winter

was trying to be like a model.

I know she had an OnlyFans
at one point.

She's a big into TikTok,
wants to be a content creator,

and it was quite
interesting seeing

because quite a few of
the videos on her channel

were filmed in Stuart's.

She was obviously very good at
projecting this appearance of

I am this person,
I am that person.

I think she thought
she was going to be this big

kind of social media sensation.

The police needed
to talk to her

because, you know,
she might have been at risk.

She could be a victim.

But equally,

she may have been the last
person to see Stuart alive.

She may have been
an important witness.

Detectives will be looking
for CCTV

that covered the entrance
to the flat,

and on both sides of the road,

to see if they can find
any evidence

that Swan-Miller has been taken
against her will.

They are concerned
for her safety.

There is no trace
of her at this stage.

Swan-Miller's phone was
located at the address,

which in itself
could be problematic

because that shows that the
phone is no longer with her.

Ordinarily, the police
would be using that phone

to try and track
where she would be.

So on this occasion,
it didn't yield that potential.

Yep, sit down,
I'm going to sit, yeah.

My name is Russell Dadds.

I'm 58 years of age.

I'm a friend of Stuart Crocker.

I joined the Army at 16,
um, Junior Service.

I was posted to Berlin in 1984,

where I joined Stuart Crocker
in the Royal Hampshire Regiment,

serving under the, obviously,
the British Armed Forces.

And that's where we first met.

Obviously, Berlin was right
on the threshold

of the, uh, the Eastern Bloc.

There were still bullet holes
in walls.

There were still ruins.

There were people queuing
for food.

So it was very different times.

Working with Stuart was, um,

I would say always fun

and interesting, shall we say?

Uh, Stuart did like
to have a drink,

and I suppose in them days
in the Army, um,

drinking was very acceptable.

Um, it's what everybody did,

um, especially with the cheap
prices that you encountered

when you were serving abroad.

I found Stuart to be
sometimes mischievous,

always with an opinion.

And I think he was quite
a strong character,

I think would be the way
to describe him.

The Royal Hampshire Regiment,

they were then sent on a tour

in Northern Ireland
in south Armagh.

This was known
as um Bandit Country

and the IRA were very prominent.

It was during
this time that, um,

one of, one of Stuart's
closest friends,

um, was unexpectedly
and suddenly

killed by a bomb.

Stuart was in the vicinity

when his best friend was killed.

He was funeral bearer,

and I know that Stuart
was gravely affected by this,

and it left him
with some, some troubles.

That has to have
some long-lasting effects

with regards to Stuart,
his drinking,

and it's, just his general
outlook on life.

In the early days in the Army,

you didn't talk
about things like PTSD.

But again,
that's another very sad story.

I left the Royal Hampshires
in July 1988

and Stuart left several years
after me.

Stuart's army friends,
unfortunately, through himself,

he lost touch with them.

Probably fast-forward
another 20 years, almost.

I did bump into Stuart again,

typically outside of a pub
as it was with Stuart,

and I'd got him round
my home a couple of times.

I'd got him happy
and talking about,

and talking to Army friends.

I see his face light up.

I had hope for him.

We promised to stay in touch.

About 2023,

I had heard from people
that he was being bullied.

This was all going on
with what we call Cuckooing.

Cuckooing
is when drug dealers

effectively use and abuse
a vulnerable person's property

as their hub for distribution.

They will very often give
free samples, as it were,

to the householder,

as a way of ensnaring them
in the whole system.

People who have been cuckooed
tend to get very badly used.

That was the case
with Stuart.

Sadly, nothing more was done.

I went round to see him.

I see an unkempt man.

He's now overweight.

He's now got the telltale signs
of alcohol, overindulgence,

and he was in a bad way.

He wasn't always like that.

He would go through times
when he got himself together,

but as soon as the people
realised that he was lonely

and needed friendship,

that's when he was targeted.

I did have words with people.

I did tell people
to leave him alone.

Sadly, Stuart's personality
had changed so much,

he would probably do anything
to try and please anyone.

He was allowing people

that were dealers
to come into his house.

He would pass
over his bank card.

They would go
and take his money out,

and they'd spend his money.

They had introduced him
to drugs,

and then he got,
surprisingly, he liked it.

I did throw them out
of his house once,

and I did talk to the police.

So he was moved to another flat.

But these people
knew where he'd moved to.

And so it was just a case of,

well, he's in
a different address,

but we can still
do the same stuff.

They'd cuckooed him again,

and that's how he was introduced
to Swan-Miller,

and his alcohol dependency
had got so great

she was withholding

the alcohol.

She had his bank cards, everything.

And what do you do if
you don't get your fix?

You'll find an alternative.

And that's how Stuart got
on the drugs.

Going forward to June, 2023,

I hadn't seen Stuart
for a few weeks,

and I had heard through Joseph

that he'd lost a lot of weight
and everything else.

Then I saw Stuart
with Swan-Miller,

a blonde peroxide bimbo

with a lot of makeup on.

I just looked at him
and was like,

I'm not saying anything.

A day that I remember well,

Joseph got this call.

Stuart had rung up
and asked for £50,

something to do with her dog
and drugs.

He had told me
that he needed this money

for some drug dealers that were

from London.

They were threatening
to come down and beat him up.

I didn't have any money
to give them.

If I had, then I would have.

He sounded saddened

and he said, I understand.

She came on the phone,
Swan-Miller.

please, please, please,
my dog's going to be killed,

or we're going to be killed.

[gentle music[

And that was the last
I ever heard from him.

I feel regret
for it being the last time

we ever had a conversation
and how that conversation ended.

I wish it could have ended
in better circumstances.

Apart from what we might call
traditional forensics,

DNA, etc.

There is also digital forensics.

So what we
would tend to do

is we would have some keyword
searching on social media,

so it would pick up
anything at all

that may yield
some intelligence.

And that immediately

got them thinking.

Could they trace Swan-Miller

through her social
media platforms?

Could they find out
where she was posting?

We know Swan-Miller
was using TikTok.

If she's logging
into her social media accounts,

then potentially we could get
some alerts in relation to that.

What surface very publicly
on her TikTok profile

was a recently made video

that really stood out and
immediately got our attention.

I'm going to be taking a break
from TikTok for a bit,

I think because

I've been a bad girl.

I

had to do what I did because,

Of my

situation.

We were all quite
shocked at that point

that it appeared that she had
given some sort of confession

to her link to Perhaps what
had happened to Mr. Crocker.

She was boasting that she
had been a naughty girl,

and that she didn't believe
she had done any wrong.

I can only explain

when the time comes.

But

I

had to do what I did because,

of my

situation.

Absolutely everybody had a
copy of it on their phone.

Everybody was showing me.

There was a police officer out
the front of Stuart's flat,

so I've shown them
and told them, you know,

are you aware of this?

You probably won't want to
speak to me

when you find out anyway,

but there's more to the story
than just one side.

It was just quite disturbing.

She seemed so...

almost proud of what she'd done.

Almost kind of like
this was a Big Brother interview

or some other reality TV show.

Not that she'd done
what she'd done and...

was, she just seemed proud
of herself,

which makes you feel a bit sick,
to be honest.

And I basically decided

I was not going
to be downloading TikTok

because I just didn't want
to see it repeatedly.

It didn't seem like
it was a sane person

that would, that would do that.

We want to get hold of
her as quickly as possible,

not only to make sure
that she's in custody,

but also to capture
any forensic evidence

that may be on her,
that may link her to,

to the murder of Stuart.

Does she own a vehicle?

If there is, we may put
what's called a flag on ANPR,

the automated number
plate recognition system,

which are cameras strategically
placed on road networks.

Do we know where she banks?

Are there particular shops that
she goes to on a regular basis

to get cigarettes,
alcohol, foodstuff?

All this information
can be really, really useful

when you're trying
to plan an arrest of a suspect.

There is a misconception
when it comes to CCTV.

There is no central database.

There is no easy way
of just plugging in

and downloading CCTV
from around the city.

It is time-consuming
and can be very frustrating.

Where has she gone?

Is there any record of her
moving around Andover?

Has she left Andover?

What CCTV can we find?

Where is Swan-Miller?

We were wanting to find
out as much as we could

about Winter Swan-Miller
and Mr. Crocker.

We know this is going to be a
significant thing going forward.

We were looking
for any other signs

that could build a picture
for us

about who they were,

and perhaps what their
relationship would have been.

Stuart and
Swan-Miller's relationship.

Tempestuous,

sometimes very volatile.

One day, her dog disappeared.

She blamed Stuart for that.

All hell broke loose.

She was out effing and blinding
and shouting in the street

and got my dog and all this lot.

But she was just one crazy,
crazy lady.

We know that alcohol
and drug use were present

in the relationship between
Stuart Crocker and Swan-Miller.

This is quite important to note

because the presence
of mind-altering substances

can really shape how
a relationship develops

because what it can do

is intensify the emotional bonds
that people are experiencing,

but also it can create
a breeding ground for conflict

because when people are under
the influence of substances,

their inhibitions reduce,

their ability to make
decisions becomes impaired,

but also their impulse
control reduces.

I have heard an
argument

approximately five days prior to

Stuart dying,

but from then onwards,
complete silence, really.

The police had
a breakthrough

when they noticed an image

that appeared
to be Winter Swan-Miller

walking towards
Andover railway station

in company with her dog,

but she also had some luggage
with her,

indicating
she was leaving the area.

Whilst the CCTV at the railway
station was a breakthrough,

it just opened up even greater
avenues of investigation.

She's kind of disappeared
in a puff of smoke

from Andover Station.

So at this point we knew that
Winter Swan-Miller

was on the run.

You know,
police couldn't find her.

Swan-Miller was known
to the local police.

They were documented incidents
of violence on her part.

Additionally, even though
she was never charged,

previously,
police had recovered knives

and a sword from one
of her prior addresses.

Had she gone north,
up to London,

then she would have arrived
at Waterloo

and disappeared into the myriad
of platforms on the underground.

Did she go out, get a taxi?

Who knows?

We suspect that she's murdered
one person already

in a very vicious attack.

Could she do that again
to somebody else?

With any cases
of serious crime

that's happened
in our community,

as a journalist, what drives
us is to get to the truth.

However, with this case,

there was a lot
of unanswered questions.

So we start watching
these videos

on Winter Swan-Millers
TikTok account.

Well, I'm sweating.

I am doing the housework.

I'm winning.

Yes! Get in.

She's miming.

She's singing along.

And then the next moment,
you've got videos of her

posting about this
fluffy white dog

who's called Oblivion.

Libby, say hello.

Whoo!

She absolutely dotes
on this dog.

She loves this dog.

You can see how people
start following her.

You might click on her,
see what she's doing now,

see what crazy stuff she's up
to today.

Well, I've just
been banned again,

apparently for nudity.

When I was just
wearing this outfit,

there was no nudity.

It's a jar.

She's probably been doing
lives on there,

which can attract a bit
of money.

But then, is she going
on to other platforms?

Is there an OnlyFans account?

There's a lot more
explicit sites,

shall we say?

Okay, where people then can
manage their, their viewings,

their accounts,
they can gain media traction,

they can earn money from this.

They can have people
that will want private viewings

of what they're showing.

We know that she kind
of existed in two worlds.

She had the offline world
and the online world.

Her offline world was
characterised by instability,

not only in terms of emotions
and mental health,

but also living situations,

relationship dynamics,
and breakdowns.

For people who have relationship
difficulties in real life,

the online world can give
them a sense of escape

because they have
much more control

around the relationships.

While they may not be as deep
and meaningful,

they're still rewarding

because the social
media world is fuelled

by likes,
comments and engagements,

which kind of activates
our dopamine system,

our reward system,

and can be incredibly addictive.

I had a look
at the TikToks.

All of them.

She is very provocative
in some of them.

Well, she's provocative
in most of them,

doing all these little dances
in just her underwear.

Always with makeup,
always with makeup on.

The last time
I was to see Stuart,

it was a Saturday.

I was in the town centre.

He looked happy.

He was so pleased to see me.

We sat and talked for a bit

and I said, "oh,
I must get your number."

He said, "oh,
she's got my phone."

And I said, "who? Who's she?"

"My girlfriend."

And I said, "well,
where is she?"

So I looked over, and she was in
the charity shop in Andover.

I said,
"I'll go and get the number

so we can stay in touch now."

And he said, "yeah, yeah."

I went into the charity shop,
and I saw Swan-Miller.

She was, um,

half dressed, if you like,

Is the best way to put it.

She was trying to hide a pair
of shoes that she was stealing

out the charity shop,

and I thought, God,
you know, that's pretty low.

She came and said,
"oh, we've got to go."

She sort of grabbed his arm,

and she was trying
to guide him away from me.

I just thought to myself,

why would this 30
something year woman

wants to be Stuart's girlfriend?

No disrespect to Stuart,

but he wasn't in the best
of health,

both mentally and physically.

But I was told subsequently,
there have been a few occasions

when Stuart realised that
certain points in his clarity

that he was being used.

I know that he had asked
Winter Miller to leave

on a few occasions.

I know that Stuart was getting
tired from all accounts

of her behaviour,
of her outbursts.

That's what I believe
was the final straw.

Two weeks later,
Stuart would be dead.

Following the search of
the scene of the crime,

it was noted that Stuart's
bank cards were missing.

If a card is used,

the bank very quickly can pass
that information

to the single point of contact,

who would feed it back
into the detectives.

The bank informed the detectives

that Stuart's card
had been used in Walsall,

in the West Midlands.

The bank were able to provide
a photograph from the ATM

of the person
who had used the card.

The image from the ATM
showed a white Caucasian,

middle-aged man,
thinning on top.

Certainly, not Swan-Miller.

It was a bit of a curveball.

Who was this person?

Could they identify him?

And if they could, would
that lead them to Swan-Miller?

Focus was now on Walsall.

What we need to do now is try
and establish any CCTV

around that ATM that might help
identify who is using that card

at that particular time.

Using a protocol,

they asked West Midlands Police

to issue that photograph
at daily briefings.

The morning briefings are
for patrolling officers

for safer neighbourhood teams,

people who are on the ground

and who might be able
to identify this mystery person.

The investigating
detectives had identified

that there was a drug link.

The bank reported a second usage
of Stuart's card

in the Aldridge area in Walsall.

A second usage of the card
in the same area

indicated to the police

that whoever was using it
lived locally.

They were not on the run.

They were not travelling
all over the country.

The investigation team needs
to move fast.

So, having identified
this pattern of usage,

Hampshire officers
were deployed.

They started staking out the
two garages

where money had been withdrawn
from the cash machine.

They have
an observation post.

They are sat in vehicles,
watching and waiting,

and as soon as
that card is used,

they would then pounce
on the individual

in possession of that card.

At the same time,

detectives will have been trying
to triangulate Swan-Miller.

They would have been looking
at her social media platforms.

Was she logging in
from IP addresses

that resolved to an address,

or different addresses
in that area?

The SIO has this dilemma.

Do they use the opportunity

to seize the card
at the next transaction

so that they can then identify
who that individual is?

Or do they let it run
a little bit longer?

And the advantage of letting
it run a little bit longer

is that it helps you build
up a bit more of a picture

as to where
that card is being used,

so that ultimately
you can identify where

Winter Swan-Miller is.

However, the police decide
to take action

and pounce
on the next withdrawal.

I think what they were

probably expecting was to find
the male that they've seen

on the ATM before.

But to their surprise, they
actually saw both individuals

turning up with the card.

And they immediately jumped
on them and arrested them

on suspicion of Stuart's murder.

So now that these two
are in custody,

a search was conducted
at the male's home address.

And what the police found in
that address

were belongings
of Winter Swan-Miller.

Those belongings
included clothing,

They included notes,
but also her dog, Oblivion.

There was a phone belonging
to the male himself,

which had been used
by Winter Swan-Miller

to upload some of her videos

and some of her social
media posts.

Finally,
the police get their person.

Winter Swan-Miller
has been arrested,

having been on the run
for a few days,

and hopefully the risk
of harming anyone else

has subsided.

But the law
has to take its course,

and to get justice for Stuart,

police must unravel
what's happened.

Who was this man
Swan-Miller had been with?

Did he have anything
to do with Stuart's death?

Was Swan-Miller the killer?

So far, Swan-Miller
has only been caught

with a stolen cash card

and made some suggestive
comments on TikTok.

You could argue that she
was stoned out of her head

when she made
those social media.

So, that's not evidence
in itself.

She may have a very
strong defence.

She could plead insanity
or even get acquitted.

I just hope that it all goes
well, really.
