but he put 'em in,
turned the vehicle on,

and he rammed both vehicles
trying to get away.

We were able to
block this vehicle,

but if we were not
able to block it,

we got two and a half
tons of steel weaponized.

Had that vehicle
pinched one of us,

it could have ended terribly.

with a whole lot less energy.

place with an injury,

dirty, and facing
potential criminal charges.

Now he's gonna be taken to
the office for processing.

We're working with the
US Attorney's Office

to pursue criminal prosecutions

and hopefully remove
from the United States.

- There are three components

to our overall national
immigration strategy.

You have the US Border Patrol
that protects our borders,

makes sure people do not get in.

You have Customs and
Border Protection.

They are the ones at
our port of entries.

And then you have Immigration
and Customs Enforcement.

We're responsible for the
law enforcement mission

within the borders
of the United States.

ICE doesn't go out there
and do just random sweeps.

What we do is targeted
enforcement operations

where we know who our target is

based on criminal intelligence.

Enforcement and removal
operations, ERO,

that's the backbone
of our operation.

They're the men and
women going out there

and targeting these
foreign fugitive

and these criminal aliens
that are in our neighborhood.

(computer beeps)

Our first target, Byron Rivera
Alvarenga, born in Honduras.

He has a burglary in the
third, conviction, felony.

He was ordered removed
July 8th of 2024.

Ex-wife, ex-girlfriend,
he went over to her house.

He kicked in the basement door,

found her with her
current boyfriend.

He grabbed a knife,
threatened to kill them both,

the whole time in the
presence of his young son,

who was right there,
witnessed the whole thing.

Ultimately, he was arrested
by the Nassau County Police.

We conducted surveillance
about a week ago on him.

It's probably not
enough of a window

to try to approach without him
fleeing back into the house,

so I'm thinking that a car
stop is probably gonna be

our best bet for
this particular case.

What we used to do in a
week, we're doing in a day.

We're working 24/7, round
the clock, holidays.

Everybody buys in.
Nobody's complaining.

We're definitely
making a difference.

What more do you need
to satisfy your job?

protecting the public.

I think that keeps us all going,

and most of us, this
is our backyards here.

so we're more productive.

We're able to cast
a broader net.

We're able to be more active,

We have great relationships
now with our sheriff's offices,

our police departments, our
district attorney's offices,

the cooperation,
the collaboration
that we're getting.

You know, Nassau
County was deemed

the safest county in
America, and it just shows

how we can ultimately
keep America safe.

When law enforcement works
in unison with one another,

the results are priceless.

and it's not our guy,

for our subject.

residence, got into a vehicle.

We had some traffic
getting in front of us,

so we couldn't get
a clear picture,

but he fit the physical
description of the target.

Subject provided a
driver's license,

same last name as the
target, but it wasn't him.

Martinez, common spelling.

- Well, we ran that
subject, and he's amenable

to apprehension for
immigration-related charges.

I think a lot of
people just assume

that we go make arrests

and then put somebody
on a plane right away.

We don't order
someone's deportation.

It's an immigration judge.
They go through a process.

We're picking someone up. You
know, they're here illegally.

They need to be put
in front of a judge.

The judge makes the decision

whether you get to
stay in this country

or they find you removable.

- No one's deporting you today.

The only person that can
say you gotta go back

is the judge here, okay?

And you just gotta see
the judge, all right?

- [Reporter 4] Anti-ICE
protesters clashing

with ICE officers in Minnesota.

- [Reporter 5] The
agitators showed up

with shields in riot gear.

- [Reporter 6] Refusing to
leave and putting up barricades.

- Democrats and the
media work overtime

to try and stir fear up around
ICE's deportation efforts.

- We have ICE federal
agents pulling up,

terrorizing our
communities, stealing,

and, yes, kidnapping people.

- It's disheartening to know
that they're equating us

to individuals that
are kidnapping people
off the street.

The main misconception is that

people don't get
their due process,

that they're just taken
straight out of the country.

The judges give the orders. We
just effectuate the removals.

I've been with this agency
for almost 18 years.

Every administration
that comes in,

there's gonna be a change in
what they wanna prioritize

and not prioritize.

I can say never in the
history that I've worked here

have we had this much
support and attention.

We're not doing
anything different.

It's just we got a
lot more support now.

Our mission set's the same,
detain, arrest, and remove

people that are
not here legally.

My officers continue to
go out there every day

in circumstances now that have
become tense and stressful.

Officer safety is, like,
a huge concern right now.

I mean, the assaults
have gone up immensely.

- [Reporter 7] In Alvarado,
July 4th, a disturbance outside

appeared to lure ICE
correctional officers outside.

A positioned gunman
then began firing.

- [Reporter 8] Another
disturbing attack
on ICE officers.

- [Reporter 9] The increase
in attacks against ICE agents

is up 690%.

(exciting music)

- [Dave] Three primary
targets we're focusing on

for public safety, one's
an aggravated felon

with a firearm and
burglary conviction.

The second one has
2 DUI convictions,
and then a third one.

We attempt to do a vehicle
stop on him last week,

and he failed to yield, almost
hitting one of our officers.

- [Twig] I need
help. I need help.

- [Agent 4] Try to get
help. He's coming back.

- Okay, so we have either a
failure to yield or a bailout.

Sounds like he's on foot, but
they're not gonna get away.

We have guys on our
team that run marathons,

and anytime we catch 'em,
it's usually use of force.

(siren blares)

- [Twig] Oh, shit, my
arm's (beep) up, dude.

- What happened?

- [Twig] Back at the
Rofo, he took off.

I tried pulling him over,
beat him back to his house,

and he (beep)
outta my car, dude.

My car is (beep).

He ran. I tased him twice.

- Where's he at?
- He's in custody.

After he (beep) was choking me,

I had to kick him
in his (beep) nuts.

- So we have an officer injured.

It sounded like he had
got kicked in the head

and also had an arm injury.

In my first 13 years with ICE,

I may have had two or three
use-of-force incidents.

In the last month, we've had
close to nine, huge uptick.

(bystander shouts)

Get Twig to the hospital.

- [Baseball Cap Agent] I
gotta go to the hospital, too.

- [Dave] With him?

- Detainee.
- All right.

- We have a detainee
that was tased.

For any type of use of force,

we'll always offer
medical attention.

(tense music)

Yeah, scene's secure.

So the first target vehicle
that we spotted this morning,

they attempted to light
it up, the guy FTYed,

so we circled back to the house,

caught the guy coming
back to his house.

He rammed Twig's car
with his white work van.

As they tried to pin him,
they're both up on the curb.

We're gonna wanna
prosecute this guy.

Due to the Fourth Amendment,

we can do vehicle stops
based on suspicion

that our target
is in the vehicle.

But for us to be able
to go into a house,

we're gonna need a criminal
warrant as opposed to,

in this case, we have an
administrative warrant.

So that's why it's advantageous
to them to get home

and lock themselves
in the house.

It's like, you know,
playing tag and you're it.

(tense music)

So he had a GoPro
mounted on the dashboard.

Spoke to my supervisor.

He advised to seize the camera

since it was video
evidence of a felony,

the assault on the
federal officer.

They may not know it, but
it's in their best interest

just to comply with the arrest
because, within two weeks,

they can request a
custody redetermination

and request a bond.

It's not guaranteed
that they'll get it,

but when they do
stuff like this,

they're absolutely
gonna get held, no bond.

- [Reporter 10] 7:00 AM,
a sniper started shooting

from a nearby rooftop and
fired indiscriminately

at the ICE facility.

- We wanna have a debate
about immigration policies.

We can do so in the
halls of Congress

without demonizing the men
and women who every day

put on a badge and go risk
their lives to keep us safe.

- [Agent 5] You guys see
that blue Altima that left?

- [Agent 6] All right,
that's the vehicle.

Let's pull this vehicle over.

- We had another individual
leave the target's residence.

Got in a vehicle,
conducted a vehicle stop.

Again, provided a
Honduran passport.

This is how we conduct
these investigations.

We're gonna do
our due diligence.

We're very proactive.

We're not just going to lose
sight of the big picture here

and focus on just one target.

If they are amenable to being
apprehended or removal by ICE,

then we're going to take
them to custody, as well.

I think they headed
back into the house.

People know we're in the
area and that we're here.

Back at the house,
we had an individual

in a car in the driveway and
he fits that description.

When our officers went back,

we think he may have
ran back into the house.

Don't know what
he's done up there,

if he's barricaded himself in,

if he's got weapons
in the house.

gonna go into the house.

Let's try to pin everybody

- It is a consent based
entry so we would have to

have him either come
outside or consent

to us going in the house.

So we'll leave people on here

and if it's gotta be 24
hours, then we'll do that.

- One thing ICE always
gets accused of is

we're arresting the
wrong individual.

Before an ICE operation
even takes place,

there's days and
hours of intelligence

and case work that's done
by the special agents.

They know exactly who
they're going after

through fingerprints,
photographs, sometimes DNA.

We work with
intelligence from local

and state law enforcement,
other federal partners.

We are making sure that we
are getting the right target

at the right time.

- Most people don't even know

that there's an intel
side to ICE ERO.

We've been able to collect
incredibly valuable information

that previously
wasn't being done.

think of interrogations

as this in your

but actually, just
talking with somebody

is gonna be a more
effective manner.

a little bit about your journey
getting up to the US border.

- Once arriving to Mexico,
we were transferred

to custody of other people.

From there, they were
in charge of bringing us

as close as possible
to the border.

- Building that rapport
and showing respect

as early on as
possible is very key.

Your family paid them

to help you travel up
to the United States?

You know much they paid?

- It was 65 to 70,000 quetzales.

- People are having to
fork out anywhere from

$7,500 to $9,000 to get from
Guatemala or El Salvador

to our southern border.

That's not even if
they aren't kidnapped

or somehow exploited
along their journey.

- We know in the community
that you live in,

it's a area heavily
populated with gang activity.

Have you been approached
by any members of a gang?

- I've been approached,

but I try hard to get away,

not try to carry
conversations with that.

I know what people I
need to hang out with

and what people to avoid, so
I don't have any problems.

who they may have
been with, what gang?

- All of these interviews,

they're little
pieces of the puzzle.

Our piece of the puzzle
may seem insignificant,

but it still goes into
an intelligence report

so that the FBI can pick it up,

and maybe that's their
missing piece of the puzzle.

- ICE is an agency that
was born out of 9/11.

So we've seen what could happen
with unvetted immigration

and terrorist attacks.

Every day, the brave
men and women of ICE

put on their body
armor and their badges

and go out to do what
they can to ensure

that another 9/11 never happens.

has been an attack

on three nuclear sites in Iran.

- [Reporter 12] Fear of sleeper
cells in the United States

is very concerning.

Are they calling
up their proxies

and saying, "Help
us strike back?"

- [Reporter 13] There
could be cells here

that could be activated.

- [Speaker] We are vulnerable.

The question is how many are
in the country? We don't know.

- All right, today we're
going after Mr. Jafar Sohrabi.

That's gonna be a picture
of him right there.

He was a part

of Iran Islamic
Revolutionary Guard,

Tier III terrorist organization,
trained in the military.

Let's be careful.

- This guy came in through
the southwest border in 2023,

was processed and released,

and then we recently
got information

about his former
membership with the IRGC,

and obviously, IRGC is

a designated foreign
terrorist organization.

They have connections
with Hamas, Hezbollah,

and various other
terrorist proxies.

So we're targeting him as
a national security threat,

and the fact that he
has failed to comply

with his supervision with the
non detained case officers.

there's probably

not gonna be much

Anytime there's children
involved, safety of the children

and custody of the children
are priority over the target.

An incident like this
with kids involved,

we'll be portrayed as taking
a parent away from children.

We're not doing that.

We took extra
precautions to make sure

that those children
are with a parent.

We didn't just leave 'em
in the car and drive off.

He's not getting deported
or removed right now.

He's still gonna see the judge

like he has been already, okay?

already has a retainer

Yeah, we're aware and we'll
let his attorney know.

We'll notify the attorney

and then they'll argue
everything in front of a judge.

language he speaks?

is supposed to be in

He's not getting deported

He's still seeing a judge,

and his case will play out

The biggest thing
the media gets wrong

is the whole due process aspect.

We're being portrayed

that we're taking
people off the street,

kidnapping them or taking
people away from kids

and not giving them due process.

This guy is going to get all
the due process he's deserved

just like any other alien
we bring into custody.

Next 48 hours,

he's first gonna go to the
Baltimore field office.

We're going to do
an initial intake.

Intelligence will come down
and do a thorough interview

and then approve bed space from
some facility in the country

and then he will get moved
to that as soon as we can,

hopefully within
the next 48 hours.

We try to move him
as quick as possible.

Everyone did a great
job. We're all safe.

Got that guy's safe. Everyone
goes home in one piece.

That's the main goal.

- ICE is more visible now in
communities than ever before.

And unfortunately for
the men and women of ICE,

that's put a target
on their back.

- There are people that
wanna instigate, agitate,

shouting, yelling things.

we can't share criminality

with just bystanders
or, you know,

anything relating to
their immigration status.

But now, people are gathering
around our target's residence

and the target is
refusing to come out.

a warrant to enter the house.

- The target has a
final order of removal,

which is an
administrative warrant

issued by an immigration judge.

But now since we've
been trying to get him

to come out all day, we are
seeking a criminal warrant

for 8 USC 1325 as well as
1253, failure to depart.

- Right now, set a perimeter,
shut down the location

and wait for the
warrant to get signed.

how ICE operates every day.

Where we actually go out there

and we make the arrest
based on a final order

by a judicial judge to remove
or deport that individual

from the United States.

But we also enforce
criminal warrants

when there's evidence of a crime

and a judge approves
and issues that warrant.

He is from El Salvador.
He's been deported before.

for felony reentry

assault, felony strangulation,

dangerous drugs, and he's
a member of the MS-13 gang.

These MS-13 gang members
are a high priority for ICE.

They can be very dangerous
for our officers.

We typically like to make
these arrests quickly.

We're securing him now

and we're gonna be transporting
him back to the office

for processing.

We will turn him over to the
US Marshals for prosecution

since he's got aggravated
felony convictions.

The range of punishment
for this individual

is gonna be two to 20
years in federal prison.

After he serves his time,

we will deport him
back to his country.

Similar to our last
subject, our second target,

he's got two prior removals.

He was removed by
ICE in 2015 and 2013.

We do have information
that he's back.

He was arrested for
assault and battery.

Possible gang member.

We'll wait for him to
leave the apartment

and arrest him there.

- The priority for us
is arresting people

with serious criminal
histories that are dangerous

to the community

and that's lost in the current
media narratives being spun

that ICE is going
after non-criminals,

and that's making it
dangerous for officers

to operate in the community.

We're getting assaulted, our
vehicles are being smashed.

So it's very difficult
for us to enforce the law

with that media
narrative out there

that's completely incorrect.

that they see going

and post it on social media.

A lot of 'em only show
like a snippet of it

and then it gets reshared

and people start posting
opinion videos on it.

Those opinions become fact.

People have no idea why we
targeted these individuals.

We can't talk about why
that individual was targeted

at that point,

because it's an ongoing
federal investigation.

They have these knee jerk
reactions over people

that if the public
had all of the facts,

they wouldn't be upset about
that person getting locked up.

Maybe one day,
people will realize

we're not just doing
stuff to do it.

We're targeting people
that need to be targeted.

- [Piers] Numerous
doxxing websites,

they're listing personal
information of ICE agents.

- [Reporter 14] Their
names, photos posted online

along with death threats.

- [Miguel] ICE is demonized

because we're
effectuating the law.

- There might be some messaging

that's going out in
some communities to
resist, fight, run.

We're seeing that more and more.

- Masked men snatch,
kidnap and disappear

immigrants of all
legal statuses.

- You can't really control
what the public's gonna do.

They have their own opinions.

We're the best
thing in the world

and then we're the worst
thing in the world.

You'll exhaust all your mindset

just trying to
appease everybody.

You just have to continue

to do the good work
that we're doing.

- We've been on the
news for a while now.

We've kind of, at this point
now really just tuned it out.

Are we doing what's
best for the public?

I mean, that's what
it comes down to.

How we're making
the community safer.

it's just not getting out there.

And unfortunately, we
can't control that.

But we know that we
are making a difference

and we are doing
the right thing.

come in through our

assault on a child.

- He acts like he's untouchable.

1.5 million individuals

that have a final
order of deportation.

do, but at the same time,

we have to go home
to our families.
