is a little bit fresher than other ones

we've covered before and how are you do

why um why why we have smashed the

but it's great news that's great cuz

Tom mentioned this is a a relatively

fresh case it's one where if you were

had a news app in the UK probably

everyone that got that little

notification did a double take because

what on Earth is going on and um just

like that but when that yeah when this

news broke we were inundated with

messages and comments about this

particular case and I thought there

might not be enough information to

collate and do a full episode on but I

was very wrong uh it does spam back a

almost a decade prior to the news

breaking there's a lot going on behind

the scenes uh in a very eerie way

excited to cover this case uh with with

my with my guys um but I forgot was the

question how am I yeah in a way so doing

really well thanks that's great

is today's case so this week it is the

case of Virginia mullik killed by our

daughter also known as the murders of

John and Lois mccullock a nightmare on

pump Hill the mccullock murders the

makeshift mosum Virginia and her house

of horrors killed by our daughter the

Virginia mccullock murders and uh I've

just learned that it's mccullock rather

than Mulla but the cryptic clue from

last week was oh that state in America

is a bit Scottish

colored um

Virginia Mulla it's I think you've done

a lot worse Ben thank you yeah I don't

think that's the worst You' done at all

Ben I think it works um so yeah I think

the only way the only way is up thank

let's get into it September 15th 2023

12:12 p.m. the village of great bad

Essex House number 7 on pump PP Hill

sits in an eerie silence it once

peaceful exterior now swarming with

activity as teams of uniformed officers

officers and white forensic overalls and

officers in riot gear silently surround

the unassuming property within mere

moments the front and rear doors of the

house are violently breached a sharp

crack Echoes through the neighborhood as

officers flood into the dimly lit

cluttered property in the hallway

between the two teams 35-year-old

Virginia mccullock stood motionless her

eyes vacant and glazed as though trapped

in some kind of Trance she stood in

unfathomable calmness amid the impending

storm as the officers rushed to

apprehend her there was an undeniable

sense that this arrest marked a pivotal

moment it was not just about the arrest

of Virginia herself but it was the first

step towards a dark and disturbing trail

of unspeakable actions that would soon

be uncovered one that would set in

motion a wave of Revelations that would

horrify an entire nation and make

headlines all over the world how was one

woman able to murder her parents and

keep their death concealed from her four

siblings and extended family as well as

the general public why did these

horrific crimes go undiscovered for a

period of more than 4 years when did

Virginia mccullock decide that her only

remaining option was to murder both her

mother and father and what crucial

intervention from social services and

medical professionals ultimately led to

the uncovering of a nightmare on pump

Hill pump Hill is unfortunate name just

I would never call a hill pump yeah the

house is right next to the street sign

as well so it's the first kind of house

you see amidst the pump and you uh

you've had a G from Discovery Bend then

you whil research this case about the

Google Street View didn't you yeah yeah

um so a recent street view shows the

house in what is likely its most current

state and it's um yeah there's abandoned

plant pots and metal sheetings over the

doors and windows on the first floor

it's just very eerie to see it on a

completely ordinary Street I mean a lot

of the gardens and the houses opposite

are really well kept it's very eerie

yeah very EET get demolished I would

have thought yeah I mean I I I assume

they have all the information they need

from it now I just don't know what

happened in terms of ownership of the

property and I assume it'll be down to

the

siblings to decide yeah yeah yeah I

would have thought so yeah I mean yeah I

can't imagine anyone's going to happily

move into it that's my only thought I

still got an idea of how I was obsess

obviously over the M houses going a

little experiment I want to do at some

point for the podcast so oh leave it

with me but um yeah very yeah always

intriguing what happens to those places

cuz I I definitely wouldn't want to move

into it after knowing what's happened in

this house there's this one of the um

we're going to talk about it later in

the aftermath but there's a a Tik tocker

blogger that's currently being

investigated because they've somehow got

inside the house and filmed it's really

eerie footage I don't know if we can use

it in our episode but I I can certainly

post a link in our Facebook group but um

it is I'll show you boys it at the end

of the episode to react to it's um very

unsettling I can't see anyone renovating

or moving into that in the the way it is

at present we're going to begin with

some background to Virginia and the

mccullock family before moving on to the

particularly gruesome timeline of events

Virginia mccullock was born on Tuesday

the 20th of October 1987 in the city of

chelwood Essex good date good date oh

yeah is it your birthday is it is it a

year that's a year before you know yeah

yeah yeah yeah um um years just

no unfortunately one year what day of

the week were you Dan I was a Thursday I

think oh okay so it's kind of t t

beginning yeah well yes um but otherwise

no link to this case Jedi someone

commented on Fourth recently going what

was what was the link with Dan and

Steven Wright I can't quite get it I'm

have to comment like there's definitely

no

link I remember um Ben linking uh Ian

Watkins heavily with our friend Yan a

lot and I was like there's no link like

he kept saying his name a lot with him

and I was there's there's no link to

them sorry as far as I'm aware well yeah

she was the youngest of Five Daughters

born to John and Lois mccullock the two

predominant victims in the case the

family of seven spent many decades

living at a semi- detached three-story

property of number seven pump hill

located just over 2 miles Southeast of

chelsford in the heart of the village of

great bad so just a quick one on great

bad cuz fascinating stuff really it's

actually one of the largest villages in

all of the UK wo how how amazing is that

yeah man if they call them places pump

Hill I feel like they're running out

street name so maybe that explains it

well it has a current population of

almost 15,000 people and it once also

served home to Infamous part-time meat

pie salesman part-time cobbler and

part-time particularly incompetent

hangman William calcraft and we did a

whole interesting facts segment on uh

calcraft uh in our uh Central Park 5

episode but he basically he was really

aging he should have retired many years

is prior but he started like cuz he

wasn't tying The Noose correctly or had

a long enough uh rope he would start

like jumping on top of the their bodies

and and it was just yeah he was playing

to the crowd large crowds would gather

William calcraft great B not uh not not

a profession you want someone to be in

competent um man ironically bad at his

Craft ccraft um but yes very interesting

character indeed I wonder if what you

just get rid of him wouldn't you

saying he's not he's get you know you

should think about his pension and

Brilliant pies but let's get him let's

get him off that guty though there isn't

a great amount of detail around

surrounding the childhood and background

of Virginia and her four sisters all of

whom have been granted anonymity by the

court her childhood and family life has

been described as not idilic by former

neighbors the mulic were considered by

many to be socially awkward and

reclusive individuals who often kept to

themselves and didn't usually leave the

family home without the exception of

work urgent medical appointments and

occasional trips to the Sea side a I

mean even if you're a clu you want to go

to the beach

occasionally um I can imagine there'd be

a Cobble Beach Family yeah I could see

that I mean we're not blessed with the

best beaches on the East Coast are we

Felix clack Yarmouth constant constanton

you can the summer right yeah on the

right day if you go the it can be a bit

windy and it's a very usually quite a

depressing place to walk around I once

had PE fritters and they weren't very

good um from a vision shop not just from

um meanwhile her parents John and Lois

were described as reclusive eccentric

reserved and very old-fashioned people

who dressed like something straight out

of the 1950s Mr J Brewster a former

neighbor who grew up on pump Hill and

whose mother still lives on the

particular Street made the following

claims they were all very reclusive

people particularly the parents they

never socialized or mixed with the

community no one had anything to do with

them the children wouldn't be dressed

well and I heard that they were teased

about this at school but others said

that they didn't appear anything out of

the ordinary for such a large

workingclass family Virginia's Father

John worked as a Management Consultant

for much of his life before eventually

going on to work as a business studies

lecturer at the Cambridge based Anglia

Ruskin University he also worked briefly

as an author and a performance coach

John would spend almost 4 hours a day

commuting the 50 mile eway Journey

leading he and Lois to sleep in separate

bedrooms once some of their older

daughters had moved away from the family

home in a later Court testimony John was

described as very much a man of routine

who was a heavy drinker and also on the

autistic spectrum and it seems as though

he may also have been a fairly strict

father Mr Neil mokai a postman local to

the Village of great bad and there will

be a lot of quotes from Neighbors um

people that worked in the area

describing um Virginia and her family so

we are going a lot off of their opinions

in this case but he actually used to

work with one of Virginia's older

sisters at a local supermarket when the

pair were both teenagers he remembered

many different stories from this

particular sister that suggested that

they were all terrified of their father

he recalled the following I remember

once her dad as punishment made her cut

the grass of the entire back lawn with a

pair of scissors for staying out late

whoo I could see myself doing that which

part cutting the lawn with a pair of

scissors oh not making someone do it no

no sorry yes no no no me doing that

job yeah she didn't want to be at home

she and most of her other sisters left

as soon as they could and didn't go back

after that Virginia's mother Lois spent

much of her time looking after the

family home and raising her five

daughters whilst John was away at work

on one particular occasion during the

early '90s one of the mccullock children

speculated to have been Virginia had a

long-term issue which resulted in

repeated bed wetting though it is not

exactly clear how Lois punished this

daughter to the point that both her

school and the social services became

aware of the situation some believe that

Lois sent this particular daughter to

school in urinated clothing whilst

others believed that neighbors called

Social Services after overhearing

screams and smacking sounds towards the

young child who had wet the bed either

way Social Services became involved with

the family for a brief period of time

before taking no further action with one

of Virginia's unnamed sisters saying

that their parents were quote functional

rather than affectionate we'll talk

about motives and the relationship

between the parents and Virginia later

in the episode but these were the two

kind of the only two things I could find

that would suggest any kind of neglect

or abuse in the household and also all

of the sisters have come out to outright

deny this yeah I mean the fact that

neighbors can hear I I'm hoping they

could only hear just a weird sentence to

say only hear the crying after it if you

you could hear the smacking that is like

horrendous um I mean all of this is

horrendous but um yeah and if if the

sisters denying it and the siblings

denying it afterwards I feel it's a very

odd ter of events um whether that's just

you know after what's happened not want

to tallish the parents name after the

event but um yeah very peculiar though

it has not been proven conclusively uh

the reason why it's speculated that this

particular child was Virginia uh is due

to claims that she was relentlessly

bullied and teased at school Mr Steve

Furley a local butcher so we've had the

uh the local Postman now we've got the

local butcher uh he's also a 70-year

resident of the great bad area he

claimed the f following in an interview

with the times I have customers that

went to school with her they said that

she was picked on I've heard she took a

lot of bullying and Mickey taking her

nickname was smelly Jenny apparently

another customer told me that

another it's not funny bullying

Ben another customer told me that

Virginia once confided to her that she

was te to school and was called pissy

jinny though there are currently only

rumors to suggest that she was bullied

It is believed that Virginia had a

particularly difficult time at school

she struggled to make friends she

struggled with her studies and she was

regularly teased for looking and

apparently smelling different these

experiences would factor into her

behavior later in life when it has been

reported that Virginia regularly

attempted to buy friends at different

stages in her Youth and adult life she

would do this by buying people food or

bringing them gifts each time she

interacted with them like a magpie just

a little bit like a macpie yeah Virginia

herself would suggest that her mother

Lois was a happiness Hoover

quite quite like that that's all I like

about Virginia and a complete control

freak who would frantically clean the

floors walls and surfaces of every room

in the house with disinfectant she

developed a huge fear of microscopic

germs and was conscious of either her or

her husband becoming ill as they got

older as well as this Lis developed

traits of obsessive compulsive disorder

and spend much of a later life suffering

from repeated anxiety attacks and also

agoraphobia yeah Dr Ben do you want to

take the um certainly um I don't have

any props for being a doctor just a fez

in the corner but I don't think that's

right no got a pair of my mom's reading

glasses that'll probably work where's

your mom just left him here one time a

couple years ago in the

wardrobe no come on I can't read they're

so dusty it just it work well for the

audio people i' I pretend I still got

the glasses on agoraphobia is an anxiety

disorder characterized by profound fear

of feeling trapped or unable to seek

assistance in overwhelming situations as

a result of this fear and anxiety

individuals with agoraphobia frequently

steer clear of unfamiliar environments

or new experiences such as expansive

Open Spaces confined areas or large

social interactions avoiding anything

that they deem out of their control

agoraphobia can sometimes be caused by

panic attacks experienced in specific

environments or situations and many

celebrities have also experienced

agoraphobia at different stages in their

lives such as Robbie Williams McCoy Co

and Zach Arron Zack Arron surprises me

on that list I think the the thing is it

can just kind of come out of nowhere

from what I understand yeah it does yeah

it's like everything it affects

different people and people you wouldn't

expect people you think have everything

in the world often have a lot of things

going on so don't judge a about by his

cover for goodness sake what to live by

yeah man as she grew into her teenage

years Virginia 2 became slightly

reclusive and socially awkward though it

also appeared as though she was was

desperate to make friends of her own her

siblings recall her becoming a

compulsive liar throughout these years

who had regularly introduced herself to

new people with different Back stories

and personalities after leaving school

she took an interest in art and remained

unemployed for several months she

briefly worked parttime as a bar maider

a local pub called the ship and here

fellow employees remember her as a

strange person who used to bring

unsolicited gifts to work for other bids

this include makeup perfume and wigs

wigs is an interesting one that is an

interesting one maybe a party was coming

up perhaps yeah um perfume is an

interesting one as well cuz he he could

be taken the wrong way yes yeah was all

of them could be taken the wrong way

actually yeah yeah makeup uh yeah I

think makeup is a very personal choice

isn't it for for someone so you have to

get you have to know them very well to

get the right thing I'd say perfume is

as well yeah yeah and if you're giving

all of those gifts to the to one

individual then that's that's risky

isn't it that person grew up to be

Pennywise

but um yeah geez very interesting I like

the I do like the name of the ship for a

pup though just as soon as you said that

I felt like isn't that didn't the ship

come up in our uh Steven Wright episode

in Norwich the ship in yeah I think

you're right I think you're right yeah

just makes think it's a lot of lot of

wood and a lot of rum AAG of the ship

also recall dropping Virginia off her

home after work where she would searched

for her housekeep for several minutes

appearing as though she never actually

wanted to get out of the car and go home

eventually all of us sisters moved away

from the family home and if speculation

is to be believed they each left as soon

as they were old enough to ultimately

leaving Virginia all alone with her agan

parents agan

parents rotting away well they were in a

sense we Flash Forward several years to

early 2019 Virginia was now 31 years old

whilst her Father John was 70 and have

retired from his role as a Lector and

her mother Lois was 71 both her parents

had become somewhat shatons having

developed numerous different health

condition in recent years John now had

type 2 diabetes hyp cholesterolemia

gloma and hypertension while o as

agoraphobia hress and she still had

regular anxiety and panic attacks

Virginia meanwhile had been unemployed

for more than a decade she was living

rentree in her parents house and it

appears she had very little to zero

meaningful relationships in her life

outside of the family home with no

documented intimate ones she had

convinced her siblings extended family

and her parents to this point that she

was an aspir in artist who was studying

classic art and also willing to be the

caretaker for her parents who were

slowly becoming more and more dependent

on her she had somehow also convinced

them all that she would eventually

become a successful artist and therefore

make a large amount of money for the

family she also said or I've I've I've

read that she also said that she was

receiving a small amount of income in

the meantime as a web designer H who

knows she also convinced her parents

that she had numerous medical and mental

health conditions herself and in return

for looking after the house and caring

for her parents John started to send his

daughter a weekly allowance as well as a

payment she now had full access to their

finances including their credit cards

winter fuel payments pensions and around

£150,000 in life savings over the next

few months Virginia seemed to spiral

deeper and deeper into a world of her

own she began to steal money from her

parents savings accounts in order to

gamble online and buy clothes and

jewelry and I've I've I've read online

once again that the gambling addiction

was online bingo of all things there one

that you can't you just know that it's

it's one of yeah I never trust any of

those ones where it's you it's noted in

a way yeah yeah it's like if it's

football you never actually know whereas

that it's like surely they in addition

to this she also took out loans using

both of her parents' names and

identities and when her father

confronted her about um you know where's

all this money going what are all these

letters through the post the Ginia

explained that she had actually been the

victim of fraud and several scams she

also suggested that the bank had made

several mistakes and that their various

accounts had been hacked and she did

this by composing official looking

letters from whoever they banked with

pop them through the post and sort of

translated that information to their

parents so she really manipulated her

her parents here in the early part of

2019 alone Virginia had spent almost

£60,000 of her parents' money and in not

wanting to get caught in her Web of Life

and not seeing any other way out of the

situation this seems to be where her

horrifying and gruesome plans were

hatched and it is here that we move to

the timeline of Virginia mccullock

murdered by our

daughter March of 2019 after suddenly

recalling the vivid memory of

overhearing her parents discussing the

retirement plans with the next-door

neighbor almost a decade ago Virginia

now has the perfect gu to place over her

forthcoming plans she remembered her

father informing their neighbor that

both he and Lois would be retiring and

moving to the east coast Seaside town of

Walton on the n and so she kept this in

the Forefront of her mind as she began

to stockpile a large amount of

prescription medications May of 2019 2

months later Virginia purchased a knife

as well as a tool that enabled her to

grind up the various prescription

medication pills to a fine powder over

the next few weeks with growing pressure

from the mounting debts that she had

accumulated in her parents name Virginia

begins to use her Father John as a

guinea pig as she starts to lace his

lunches with large doses of prescription

medication at first the dosage is only

enough to make him lethargic and

slightly unwell and so Virginia decides

that she must instead use a much higher

dose W the night of June 17th 2019

whilst John and Lois sat in the living

room after having consumed what would be

their last meal together their daughter

Virginia prepares their drinks in the

upstairs kitchen here she Blends a

cocktail of prescription medication

powders before placing large amounts of

them in three separate alcoholic drinks

and one non-alcoholic one she then hands

a glass to each of her parents John

consumes his a Guinness and a brandy

whil Lois who did not drink alcohol

places hers to one side Virginia

reminded Lois that the particular drink

was non-alcoholic so she consumed a

small amount she then handed her father

two more drinks which he barely touched

according to Virginia I mean I don't

know how they how their is was but if

you're giving like here's a drink here's

two more it's just seems like incredibly

uh fishy like you would be like what are

you doing I mean she's prepared a bunch

of drinks there but I I I'm sure in the

early life there were sort of

suggestions that Jon did like her he did

like a drink or two um particularly

before bed and uh three at the same time

yes that would concern me I I I'm I'm

not a Guinness nor a nor a brandy

drinker but I don't know if that would

be something you sort of have a nice

Brandy and Chase it with a Guinness I

don't know if that's a thing I'm

assuming not s horrible this is where it

really comes all comes to a crescendo

and she's realized I'm even going to get

caught in this debt

or I do this the she doesn't see any

other it's kind of like our there are

some similarities to our to the Gypsy

Rose case aren't there um in terms of

being pushed to your final Resort

however I feel like Virginia has gone

through far less trauma compared to

Gypsy and has far more options available

to her than Gypsy I just never

understand the mentality where it goes

oh that's the only other option I have

to do this it's like I don't know

whether that's in within them and it's

kind of like oh I'm able to use this is

an excuse to do this rather than it's a

case so this is my only way out

therefore I have to do it I just I just

never understand that mentality but it's

also the fact that she finds 60,000

which is £60,000 is a lot of money but

it's it's it is manageable over time to

fix and stuff but she finds that more

embarrassing than thinking okay I just

need to get rid of these two of my

parents it's just it's it's here's the

other thing as well the way to the other

way to view it is it's not necessarily

although the debt is a problem she's

also thinking I'm going to run out soon

we're going to run out of money soon and

the only way to extend this life that

I'm living is by killing my parents and

then taking their weekly or monthly you

know a pension and other payments that

they had and the Savings credit cards in

their name yeah the other thing with

this as well when I first heard about

this case I definitely thought she was

an only child cuz I was thinking you

couldn't do this yeah like the thought

just cuz she got away of it for so long

as well both parents later say good

night and head to the separate bedrooms

Virginia also goes to bed as if it was

just an ordinary night which is quite a

chilling thought June 18th 2019

approximately 6:00 a.m. Virginia wakes

up an hour earlier than usual the

following morning and immediately heads

to a father's bedroom upon silently

entering the room and gently calling out

his name she noticed that he's

unresponsive she slowly makes her way

towards him she further inspects his

still and Silent body she confirms that

this dose was fatal and that she had

just poisoned her father to death her

mother meanwhile lays in her own bed

completely unaware of the events that

have transpired in the other room the

first half of the plan is now complete

and due to intense fears that her mother

Lois would discover the murder she makes

her way towards her room this time armed

with both a hammer and a

knife I downlo the double FIS in of

weapons and that it makes me feel

incredibly as Virginia approaches her

mother's bedroom unsure as to whether or

not she consumed enough drugs for it to

be fatal she hears incredibly faint

tones of the radio plane this has always

provided a form of comfort to her mother

who was sometimes reluctant to start her

day without a moment of calm the genius

sneaks towards her mother who is laying

on her side and is listening to the

radio VI a large pair of headphones

where she proceeds to blooding her in

the back of the head with a hammer

before proceeding to stab her to death

as a radio continues to faintly play in

the background according to the Virginia

Lois panicked and asked her what she was

doing whil also trying to defend herself

but she was not strong enough to do so

she was stabbed eight times in total

seven times in the chest once to the

hand and she eventually succumbed to her

multiple wounds whilst Virginia held her

other hand and apologized to her as she

gradually died that is just bizarre like

that shows that there's some kind of

sympathy and regret there but was such a

hate like vicious and horrible attack

it's just a very like confusing set of

emotions there I also thought like Tom

did that she was an only child I this

part really surprised me that she had a

backup plan and it wasn't a cowardly you

know poisoning of both her parents she

decided that if one of them was going to

die before the other and the other was

likely to discover the other murder I'll

have a backup plan in place and it's

such a violent and heinous end to

someone's life it's not necessarily a

quick death this one it's a frenzied

attack brutal and she's bled out bled to

death to be able to do that to anyone

let alone your own

mother yeah this is where this is the in

I assumed she just poisoned both parents

and that was it but there's obviously so

much more than that but it this is not

cowardly like the other way I don't know

smashing your head from behind of a

hammer do you know what I mean though

poisoning someone is it's more visceral

and it's more like yeah yeah you can put

something someone's drink leave it to

them and they the night the night will

take them and you're not there in the

room witnessing it when this is

actually you're getting covered in your

own Mother's blood essentially well

blood is on your hands literally um it's

a far more like yeah uh gruesome and uh

yeah then comforted in her when she's

passing yeah yeah she know only imagine

what was kind of going through the

mother's mind as well during that point

it's yeah horrific yeah the apology

shows that she there is some sort of

regret in there but it's almost like her

mind is saying well there's no other way

I'm sorry but there's absolutely no

other way for this to pan out which is

horrible Virginia inadvertently sliced

her own hand open in the process but did

not immediately realize as she Unleashed

her attack once she was able to compos

herself she exit the room washes herself

changes her clothing double checks that

both of her parents are now deceased and

heads to the local GP

practice which like imagine that GP

looks back now and it's like just shuts

at this yeah here she tells nurses that

she cut her hand whilst chopping

vegetables for her parents who clean and

dress her wound before allowing her to

leave later that day Virginia drives to

Chelson City Center where she purchases

two sleeping bags and a box of plastic

gloves using her father's credit card

she then returned to the family home

where she began to attempt to conceal

both of her parents bodies she places

each of them into a sleeping bag before

dragging her father's body downstairs

and placing it in his study that was

also converted into a spare bedroom she

then heads back upstairs and places her

mother's body into a built-in wardrobe

it is alleged that Virginia believed

that sealing the bodies in the sleeping

bag would prevent the smell of Decay

from sleeping through however over the

coming days she took the additional

measures of completely sealing the

Wardrobe with electrical tape and

wrapping the sleeping bags in plastic

before placing several breeze blocks up

against it she then also built what has

been referred to as a makeshift mum

around her father's body she made this

out of a large number of breeze blocks

that sealed around the area she then

placed blankets over the top of the

breeze blocks as well as numerous pieces

of artwork by her grandfather very eerie

I mean sleep thinking sleeping bags are

able to conceal the smell is just I mean

I've been to red and festival with Ben

and I know sleeping bags do not conceal

the smell but um yeah it's

just I mean

yeah I don't think there's any any point

trying to question like the soundness of

Mind in terms of like thinking about

this in terms of what's the next steps

or what she should have done in Brackets

should have done but this just seems to

be yeah just yeah very little thought

out so yeah these um breeze blocks for

for the American folks uh cinder blocks

she ordered a total of 40 of them from a

local bnq which I assume that would be

delivered right on like a pallet outside

the house or something like that and

she's gradually moved them in into the

house one by one so I'm not sure again

what neighbors would have been thinking

they're probably in their wildest dreams

they wouldn't have been fing this but

she's also literally sealed it with sand

and

cement over the body in a sleeping bag

that's been wrapped in in plastic so

she's thinking that completely sealing

that area will prevent the smell of

Decay from from entering the house and

it's yeah but it's there's nothing like

this really is there that we've ever

right icky June 19th 2019 a day after

murdering her Virginia uses her mother's

personal information and also

impersonates her over the phone in order

to receive an updated credit card and

pin number in the post once the new card

is received she spends a large amount of

money online ordering clothing and

jewelry and is also using it to gamble

over the next few weeks and months

Virginia proceeds with life as normal

she continues to be unemployed she

continues to go about her usual routine

she continues to spend large amounts of

money online and she continues to live

under the same roof as her murdered

parents she then proceeds to construct

an intricate web of communications to

anybody who had typically interact with

her parents this includes her four

sisters her neighbors her Postman her

local GP and her extended family she

starts by sending text messages off of

her mother's phone to her other

daughters your dad and I are at the

seaside in wton this week mom kiss later

that same evening Virginia wrote another

text that said good night mom kiss she

started informing neighbors that her

parents had relocated to the seaside

after purchasing a holiday home and that

they had left pump Hill residents to her

she made the bizarre mission to one

neighbor that John and Lois had made the

Bold decision to leave Essex after they

had grown tired of people gossiping

about them made the I've only made the

link of John John Lois sounds like a

moody version of John Lewis

um but that's quite a smart way of well

I don't know of well dissing yourself

from the neighbors a bit maybe saying

like but people I don't know I don't

know is that a clever move to say about

the gossiping bit I think the retiring

to a holiday home on the coast that all

adds up but I don't I don't know anyone

that's relocated due to

gossip that seems a bit sus yeah to me

yeah I think as well she added that like

she would the parents would sometimes

come back to the house but only at night

under the guise of

under the guise of Darkness to um avoid

being seen and gossiped about further I

mean yeah that is just don't mention

that yeah they're not going to they

never going to return this they're

loving it over

there but yeah very bizarre or is that

that she's saying they they've grown

tired of people gossiping about them

hoping that that stops people from even

thinking about gossiping about them

because they're

gone I don't know so Virginia would

provide different lies to different

people depending on the questions that

they asked but would often go with

either of the following number one they

are traveling or are away on holiday

number two they are unwell or number

three they had fully retired and

relocated to the coast she had the

following interaction with Mr Neil Mahi

the local Postman who used to work at

the same Supermarket as her older sister

after a couple times of delivering there

I said I worked with your sister and I

was asking where the mom and dad were

because I hadn't seen them she said her

parents were in their holiday home in

Norfolk as soon as she found out that I

knew her sister she got a PO Box to pick

up the mail because she didn't want me

going near the house obviously you don't

want to open the door if there's dead

people in the house never a true word

has been said but yeah that's very

suspicious Behavior maybe just get one

of those little boxes where you leave

deliver the post outside you see those

Amazon just do that she she seems the

type that would order a lot of sort of

collecting her mail and gave them out

Neil and his colleagues each time she

made a collection as well as throwing

neighbors and her postmen off the

evergrowing scent Virginia used the

website moonpig.com to send digitally

printed birthday Christmas and

anniversary cards as well as gifts for

the occasions to her four sisters and

extended family members signed by her

parents though this was unusual for them

nobody seemed to question it and some

even believed that Virginia herself had

provided them as JN and Lois were unwell

slightly forgetful and growing old

throughout the rest of 2019 and for the

following 4 years Virginia would collect

her parents State pensions and continue

to gamble their savings using online

betting accounts she gambled an

additional £

2,193 over the following years bringing

the total amount of her parents money

spent or gambled away to a staggering

149,90 wow that's you on a weekend is it

first without her parents Virginia began

giving away LED lights Christmas

decorations and small Christmas trees to

many different Neighbors on pump Hill

years later one elderly neighbor who

referred to remain anonymous stated the

following I think we've all suffered

everyone on the street wherever you

knock many had gifts from her Christmas

gifts gifts for any occasion I had books

lottery tickets plants and flowers from

her she was a pest once I said I liked

history in the Royal Family and she gave

me some books on both topics which I now

realize were her

mothers not to be disrespectful but just

take it to the tip yeah kind of it's a

trend in her life though isn't it she's

trying to form relationships via giving

but I would just not like pump Hill just

roll it out pump Hill you're not going

to have any Pals on pump Hill because

you don't want to come around your house

anyway yeah even just go there with

donuts all the time to the post office

that's around Christmas oh thank you

that's nice but then when it's the

fourth time in a week you're like yeah

well I don't know if the fact that she

was a bit of a shut in herself mean

meant that she didn't travel far out out

of the home I assume post office was

probably the furthest she went and she's

trying to rid the house now of her

parents memory which is very hard given

the fact that they're built into the you

know into the into the house themselves

but she's just trying to clear clear the

house but also at the same time win

favors with with um I I guess appear as

normal that's her view of what normal is

by giving gifts and being a friendly

neighbor yeah you know no one's going to

suspect I've bricked in my my father and

shot my mom in the in the wardrobe

upstairs it's clip that don't see well

don't have to clip it if you don't want

to yeah very odd behavior I personally

Russ thoron a personal trainer in his

late 30s who've been living abroad for

the past 5 years returned to the house

directly opposite the mccullock on pump

Hill Virginia very quickly reintroduced

herself to him in the form of leaving a

small Christmas tree outside his house

peculia it could be quite cute that if

it wasn't her bit weird she then started

knocking at his door on an almost daily

basis in order to ask how he

was don't like it anytime he didn't

answer she' write a note and post it

through his letter box [ __ ] hell yeah

very it's like it's getting baby

coming to mind exactly that don't want

to put curtains up if you know what I

mean they were often drawn I believe oh

Virginia knocked our Russ's door for

several minutes after she believed he

had just got in from work after he

didn't answer she returned to her house

before returning to into Russell store

once again this time with a handwritten

card she knocked once again for several

minutes before eventually growing tired

that creepiness and a in the note the

junior offered to draw a portrait of his

pet dog pip and even provided him with

imagine she'd want to get out of that

house now as often as possible so any

of all the strange encounters with and

notes from Virginia he contemplated

going to the police about it though he

himself believed it would have been

strange for well-built personal trainer

in his mid-30s to go to the police about

a woman putting notes through his door I

mean earlier on it was late 30s now he's

going no mid-30s guys and I'm well built

and I can handle myself but I think you

still I think if is the I think if you

are being stalked it doesn't matter what

sh of size you are or what shape of size

they are I think you should report it

instead he just continued to store all

after these interactions with Russell

Virginia started knocking on the door of

68-year-old neighbor Phil Sergeant who

lived two doors from her whom she

provided with multiple steaks Chinese

takeaways donuts and work tools

including two handsaws which likely

belong to her father must be must be

tough Stak

um no no yeah

again just it's love bombing and she

hasn't got the money to be buying all

this well she has yeah but her with her

gambling addiction I think she's got if

she has got that moneyy spare she

probably it was a good night

yeah in early 2020 another neighbor in

the 60s Judith way was hired by Virginia

to work as a gardener fortunately for

Virginia the rear Garden could be

accessed by the side of the house so

there was no need for Judith to enter

the property in order to complete her

work she was paid £20 an hour for her

work but also received added bonuses in

the role what do we believe what do we

think she's going to give her oh I

haven't got any more steak I've been

given them to the other two neighbors

Jesus she was given freshly baked

muffins and homemade soups maybe some

bread for the soup but I don't know she

was also given jewelry and expensive

perfume over the following year studi

was given so many different items that

she had to disclose them all a document

she provided to the police this document

which also stated that Virginia

regularly contacted her from four

different mobile numbers were four pages

long four pages long

that is in sanity that's a lot of soup

that is a lot of soup I'm sorry this is

just four pages long that is a lot on it

and per I think she's probably getting

the copycat perfumes I don't think she's

getting the legit ones Jesus and this is

what Judith would go on to say I vaguely

knew her parents she told me they would

visit under the cover of Darkness from

the seaside town because they didn't

want to be seen by the neighbors who

were being horrible to them it was a

load of rubbish of course she regularly

gave me bottles of detto anti wrinkle

cream some old sandals now I believe to

have been her mothers ant killer and so

much more she also gave me seashells

that she claimed to have picked up while

visiting her parents everything she gave

me red of perfume in fact anytime she

opened the door the waft of perfume

would just H she stank of perfume always

yeah I mean I'll be covering myself lyx

lot of diffusers I just think there's no

end plan is there like she's had four

years to think of maybe should I try and

get them out of the house yeah you said

to me that if it was you doing this that

you would one year if it was Halloween

you put two skeletons outside the house

think it's personally disrespectful to

your parents but you've killed them so

I I don't think she's seeing at this

point perhaps anyone finding out that

they're there I assume she was planning

to live the rest of her life in that

house with her parents which is a

thought in itself March 23rd 2020 on

this evening at 8:30 p.m. residents of

the United Kingdom were told by then

British prime minister Boris Johnson to

enter the first of a series of covid-19

national lockdowns which I bet Virginia

could not believe her luck at this point

in the days that followed all

non-essential High Street businesses

were closed and people were ordered to

stay at home and were permitted to leave

for essential purposes only for example

buying food or for medical reasons for

the vast majority of people in the UK

this came as a huge shock requiring a

great deal of personal adjustment and

having a significantly negative impact

on people's mental health for Virginia

mccullock however this could not have

come at a better time it became became

harder to socialize harder to see loved

ones and harder for people to move

locations throughout the country this

meant that none of her extended family

or siblings would be able to come to the

family home whether they wanted to or

not for the foreseeable future many of

the restrictions were still in place

until July of

2021 so this is yeah this is the big

thing that everyone asked one of the

first questions that people ask about

this case is how did the sisters not

know she had four sisters four older

sisters that lived in different parts of

the country some of them had children of

their own there are photos of their

grandchildren with John and Lois so we

know that they definitely interacted

there's an argument that none of them

wanted to return to the family home

because there was allegations of abuse

but they came out and said that this was

not true they also probably trusted

Virginia that she was delivering care to

their aging parents and did not have a

reason to think that what had happened

had happened obviously so this is a part

where there's criticism there's

disbelief that how on Earth in over a

timeline of four years none of the

sisters as far as we are aware visited

the property I think like on paper you

read that and you think that

is crazy but then some families they do

grow a bit apart and you don't see them

much

and if parents are are very reclusive

and you know don't want to come out and

it can just time just goes by and you

don't really realize especially if

you're raising a family raising kids and

it's not especially with Co thrown into

the mix but and if you are receiving

presents and texts and other things yeah

you kind of think oh maybe communication

during that period was better than it

had been previously um but never

speaking on the phone would be the bit

way you like that's peculiar there's

none of that cuz you think that even

someone is reclusive talking on the

phone would be uh be fine well she did

do an impression of her mother imitate

her mother over the phone to one of the

sisters I think that's what we we have

the my my immediate suspicion I it

answers itself because of lockdown so I

was like yeah but the parents are

getting older and they're also have

multiple health conditions but surely

that actually means they should isolate

even more you know cuz they're both

unwell they both have different

conditions that co could impact further

so in that respect the siblings were

less likely to be able to visit them

because they were High um highly

vulnerable yeah I do think it is it's

it's bizarre but I mean we'll go into

the relationship which has been

speculated things from the past that has

happened and maybe it's not such a

bizarre thing not wanting to see those

people whilst at the peak of lockdown

Virginia posted the following note

through Russell's door police were

called to mine on Friday night accusing

me of going in and out of people's

houses just to let you know obviously it

is a madeup claim to try and get me fine

for a CO breach just so you get the

truthful version instead of Gossip if

you hear it during lockdown Virginia

installed two surveillance cameras at

the front of the family home and she

also Drew most of the front-facing

curtains on all three Windows of the

house and you can if you want to check

out the property on Google Street View

which I have done multiple times

actually I'm a bit strange for doing

that many times that is weird you can uh

still see these cameras and I don't know

if they've actually been replaced by

police surveillance cuz I know the there

is a security team like managing the

property currently but she it looks like

she's put two of those ring cameras

facing directly out front of her home

and they look like they're still

standing now so she's claiming that

neighbors are going in and out of houses

she's claiming that she's got

surveillance to prevent this from

happening those neighbors that had

gradually gotten so used to Virginia's

regular knocks at their doors were now

met with silence she had to spend a

strict National lockdown confined to the

house that she murdered her parents in

with their badly decomposed bodies still

present and this as well as obviously

I've been all over Google Street View

lately I did this to my search history

which I'm not too proud of I searched

how long does it take for a non- buried

body to decomposed according to Google

and AI the time taken for a body to

decompose depends on climatic conditions

like temperature and moisture as well as

the accessibility to insects in summer

and obviously she's murdered her mother

and father in June and I think wasn't

the first summer in lockdown incredibly

hot oh yeah it was lovely oh yep yep

maybe not for a dis diseased body but of

of course yeah so in summer a human body

in an exposed location can be reduced to

Bones alone in just 9 days however an

unburied body can take 5 years or more

to decompose into a skeleton

depending on the local climate and other

factors including submergence moisture

temperature insects and embalming in

terms of more specific time frames 3 to

5 days uh after death bloating occurs

with foam leaking from the nose and

mouth 8 to 10 days after death the body

changes color as abdominal gases

accumulate several weeks after death

nails and teeth start to loosen and one

plus month after death the corpse begins

to liquefy into a dark sludge

H one of the uh investigators forensic

investigators that I um yeah sorry

everyone for that one of the forensic

investigators uh that was commenting on

this case said that by placing the

bodies into a sleeping bag and then

wrapping them several times with plastic

she essentially created whether she was

aware or not of this a microclimate

within like Devon they always say deon's

a microclimate kind of like Devon or a

rainforest but apparently yes because

she sealed it in a sleeping bag which

has said sleeping bag probably not going

to do a lot then wrapping it in I

imagine there'd be a lot of moisture in

there um but the insects getting in

there is not going to be easy no no any

she this uh forensic investigator stated

any insects that had perhaps got in

there would have died because of the

lack of oxygen so it would I imagine

they were relative again this is a

massive assumption on my part I imagine

they were still somewhat preserved at

the time of discovery which whoever had

that job

yeah sorry everyone that was a bit Grim

yeah but I mean it's it's relevant but

relevant but Grim Grim but relevant the

years 2021 and 2022 as Lockdown

restrictions eased Virginia returned to

her new normal she once again started

knock on neighbor's doors posting notes

through their letter boxes and

delivering food and gifts to many

residents on pump Hill around the corner

from pump hill was a small courtyard of

independent shops called you guessed it

the courtyard Virginia would visit this

area three or four times a day after the

Corona virus pandemic often browsing the

shops but rarely Buy in instead to

attempt to get to know the store owners

start to bring them with milkshakes and

donuts [ __ ] she's never ending I do love

a milkshake and a donut yeah where are

the milkshakes from Gregs don't do

milkshakes so no I don't unless it's the

bottled ones yazu ya maybe yazu fridge

lumpy ya there's someone I'm not going

to disclose my location but there's

someone in my Village who just stands in

the shop and talks to people and tries

to catch your eye

and we'll shout to you about your dog

being cute from a long distance away

which I get I I often have headphones on

I'll often just not hear them I'll be

listening to some music maybe Oscar

briefly I was walking past too close to

the bench it's kind of like um what's it

called when it's a Whirlpool you get oh

terrifying yeah if it's you can yeah

it's what she just a there's a couple

characters in my Village yeah yeah one

that's um was bowing at traffic bowing

yeah oh for what reason uh she hadn't

taken a meds down that's what I've been

leads directly opposite my house was a a

park it was great for walking the dogs

you just cross the road and you're there

um but there was a lady that would

regularly around kind of 11 12:00 at

night sit on a bench in the park and

just sit there there was no headphones

nothing just sit there for about half an

hour or so and it was on and off as to

when she would do this I would say one

in every two or three days she would do

it and so uh one particular night I'd

been out on a night out got home I just

go around the park with the dogs

and it must have been about half past

midnight so I thought there's no chance

she's out now it looked like from out

the window she wasn't there and then I

was walking past and felt one of the

dogs leads go you know and then I just

heard hello Tommy Tommy

um yeah it's hard then when you're kind

dismissed it and thought she probably

needs a bit of help I think she was

trying to buy Friends by bringing us all

gifts and food I noticed that she would

hold her hand over the name of the bank

card while paying several other

shopkeepers I know said that she

pretended to be pregnant in the months

before her arrest wearing a fake B on a

stomach and a gray maternity dress and

carrying fake Hospital paperwork mad

times you see pregnant women carrying

paper paperwork yeah yeah I am

pregnant oh bloody hell um yeah very

weird if everyone saw all the stuff

together they be like okay this is but

it's just say oh someone occasion comes

in spends a lot of money gives me a

donut you're not going to go oh get the

Poli in yeah but it's not also under the

radar or unassuming like perhaps she's

trying to act I think she's trying I

feel like this is her trying to be

perceived as normal not normal but it's

a horrible word to use but I feel like

that's this is her just trying to lead

people to believe there's nothing going

on here nothing to see here whereas

actually it is all put together quite

strange and quite abstract if you make

yourself though someone that you want to

be people want to avoid is that a good

situation to be in in a certain

situation you don't want to go to her

house cuz yes I think I don't think

perfect plan as well as this in the

early 2023 Virginia started calling the

police to report the most minor of

issues now this is feels like playing

with fire here she would fire complaints

about noisy neighbors and suspicious

people she felt were loitering outside

her house she also called the police to

claim that she'd been assaulted by one

of these loiterers with local store

owners claims to see her with multiple

cuts and bruises on her arms Essex

police sent one of the officers to the

MC household and interviewed her at

length the very house that the two

bodies were concealed within a later

review Into the matter concluded that

this officer had done nothing wrong in

not noticing anything unusual at this

stage that is literally like you said

playing with fire does she want to be

caught at this

stage testing the

waters I mean as as we've heard from the

garden it feels like Midsummer murders

from the garden that the the smells that

come out of the house is just perfumey

maybe the house is just absolutely

coated than that and I imagine it's

quite quite it's quite messy house isn't

it as well yeah very cluttered the thing

is that if you go in from the front of

the house cuz you the famous footage is

entering from the rear of the house

which is where you straight away see the

the mum where the father is but if you

go through the front of the house

there's another room which I assume is

like a living room or something like

that which she likely went into yeah a

dying room you're not getting too close

to it are you I just don't know how like

obviously like you said M micel climate

in the sleeping bag surely there's there

smell getting out of it we don't

specifically when this was but this is

at least 3 and a half years after they

were murdered that this police officer

goes in so is a question question Dan

don't know why you'd know this cuz

you're not the kind of person that this

would have this but no link to this case

what no link to this case whatsoever if

you had a like a really meaty

sandwich in uh clingfilm and you left it

on your desk and it's like over time do

you think it would the smell would come

through the cling yes he has had

something in that studio before hasn't

though that we found in the bottom of

the smell is I don't remember that but I

lot of neck on her doing the voices

um years ago that is that is so

brilliant she would also call her

mother's physici pretending to be her in

order to cancel her upcoming

appointments the woman of many voices

and unbelievably she would also call

some of her sisters pretending to be her

mother when they sent text saying that

they were worried about them or

potentially wanting to visit that's the

most bold one isn't it

because

they yeah and you're also saying don't

come and visit which if anything is

going to make you more suspicious did

they did they comment on this at all in

terms of the phone calls cuz I would

have thought that would genuinely be so

obvious well we know it happened because

it that's how they they've had the phone

calls but how they didn't again I don't

know if it maybe she had quite a distin

a non-distinctive voice that was easy to

I couldn't do my parents if I tried I

don't have the range yeah little certain

mannerisms though and like things they

say it would be so hard to do that well

I think she'd been essentially a shut in

with them for all of her life so I

imagine she knew their voices you know

better than anyone else perhaps but yeah

it's it's really really odd Virginia did

imperson parents at the phone during the

investigation and call proceedings it

was revealed that she would call her

family members and Friends pretend to be

parents oh did she do the dad as well

hello siblings Hello darling it's your

daddy here you are very well not smelly

at all Mar had a guish in a brandy and

arm in a sleeping bag just to keep warm

wearing a wig love it got some steak in

the here day September 13th 2023 after a

series of long overdue medical

appointments have been cancelled

multiple times by Virginia acting on her

parents behalf John and Lois mccullick

local GP contacted Social Services via

Essex County Council safeguarding team

to express concerns over the fact they

had not seen the couple in 4 and a/2

years well done to this individual

because I mean I'm sure things like this

have to be passed on to safeguard or

police I don't think that Virginia

necess I mean maybe not as drastic a

nightmarish as this case but I think

there are more Virginia mccullock around

the world which is you be getting donuts

solicited milkshakes you better BL check

on her you know what I'm saying I could

be the sh of Bas you could but I don't

think this case is a oneoff which is

terrifying thought mhm yeah and it be

weird if you're saying that with a

little twinkling in your eye cuz you got

a little secret that you're

hiding the team reviewed the information

and collated the Mis appointments and

misol of the prescribed medications

before immediately contacting the police

they in turn contacted Virginia who

informed them that they would be away

traveling for another month police

subsequently launched a missing person's

investigation and due to increased

suspicions it was escalated to become a

murder investigation September 15th 2023

12:12 p.m. 2 days after the welfare

concern of John and leis mccullock was

raised Essex police performed a

coordinated raid of number seven pump

Hill entering from the front and rear of

the property at precisely the same time

at least six uniformed officers can be

seen on body cam footage entering the

rear of the property some of whom are in

white forensic overalls whilst a similar

number enters from the front at the rear

of the property officers break through

the lower panel of the back door

entering via what used to be John's

study officers quickly Meander pasted

what appears to be a large bed covered

in blankets and artwork in the corner of

the room as they enter the hallway

Virginia was found standing in an almost

trans-like state in the middle of the

hallway between the two entrance points

as police move to apprehend her the

following unsettling exchange takes

normal in the approach it's kind of just

as if she's just been caught like

rigging the local raffle and she like oh

your hands out I I've won that thing you

know fair play I'll give you back the

steak a [ __ ] go give me every [ __ ]

down the street but um she seems so Blas

of it like I say maybe arrogance but

it's just like yeah and she immediately

tries to get them on S Side by giving

them everything apart from the donuts

it's as well kind of I don't know why

she wants to take them into another room

and be like I need to tell you something

actually I need to you know let us go

into the study but yeah it's it's

there's no body cam footage we've again

seen even remotely similar to this case

it's only going to get more uh more

unbelievable after hearing that she

needs to tell told them something

officers guide Virginia back through the

hallway and into John's former study

here she makes the following admission

in a chillingly calm manner my dad's is

in there right okay okay y okay um

obviously um a little bit more

complicated okay um can I that's why I

said can I go upstairs and show can you

explain it to us please we're trying to

preserve it's now going to be same so we

need to preserve this the best we can I

don't want you have you walking up there

all right it's that that's for your

wellbeing as well as ours oh okay so

what where where will we find your mom

where we find your mom okay so upstairs

there are about five wardrobes yeah um

it's behind the bed but back next to the

sink it's the second one weird yes so

just blaz just as if she's like oh yeah

a bit more complicated um there's a

wardrobe involved in that one but yeah

it's just odd losing my cuff please oh

that's a bit

tiny put a get on it just seems very

like odd behavior it also seems like

satisfying to her that she's educating

these police officers it feels really

like she's in control know again slight

arrogance yeah she's in

control Virginia then explains that she

slipped a pile of those into his drink

referring to the cocktail of

prescription medications that she'd

poison her father with before going on

to describe her mother's murder after a

few seconds of awkward silence Virginia

States the following to her arresting

officers I did know that this would kind

of come

eventually um it's proper that I serve

My Punishment

so yeah the police then confirm

Virginia's basic details and read her

her rights before proceeding to get

confirmation from her of the events that

have transpired when confirming where

her parents remains are located Virginia

is quick to correct an officer that her

mother has been placed in a wardrobe

rather than a cupboard she's really like

she says it three or four times no

wardrobe yeah pantic yeah I Virginia

mccullock having have informed police

Constable 77329 Brown and 79 387 Bowers

after entering my house on Friday the

15th September 2023 that I murdered my

Father John mullik who was stated was

under a bed in the rear ground floor of

the house and my mother upstairs in a

cupboard next to to the sink Ward Ward

it's a double

wardrobe it's like four but it's the one

nearest the sink double

wardrobe her 70-year-old Father John was

found in his study bedroom concealed in

a sleeping bag in a makeshift mosum made

from breeze blocks that were

subsequently covered with blankets and a

series of paintings and pictures that

laid on top and I thought when I first

saw this that the paintings were done by

Virginia and placed there and like a

kind of shrine but it was actually

apparently her Granddad so her dad's dad

dad that did the artwork that that

rested on top her mother 71-year-old

Lois was also wrapped in a sleeping bag

in a built-in wardrobe That Was Then

sealed off with electrical tape after

another moment of silence Virginia then

looks at the two officers standing in

front of her and makes the infamous

statement do you want to do

that J off at least you the bad

guy I'm W up to done my

job after this she goes on to say the

following I know I don't seem 100% evil

but we all well I mean I deserve to

obviously get whatever is coming

sentence-- wise because that is the

right thing to do and that might give me

a bit of Peace give her a bit of Peace

yeah yeah that's all that matters yeah

Virginia then explains whilst appearing

to wafted the smell away from her nose

that a credit card is located in the

house which had been used for a lot of

transactions over the last few years

with quote money that pertains to my

parents she is then taken to a holding

cell at a local police station

whilst in the holding cell officer body

cam footage shows Virginia explaining

where the murder weapons a kitchen knife

and a hammer are located she also

explains that both weapons are rusted

and still have blood traces on and

potentially body matter she finds it

difficult and for the first time appears

to show genuine emotion and this

particular part where she struggles to

speak is when admitting that a hammer

was used in her mother's murder during

further questioning Virginia informed

investigators that she had beaten her

mother to death death like someone badly

playing the xylophone or something

that's her how her description of events

after her arrest Virginia claimed that

her father had been physically abusive

and that her mother was mentally unwell

however her sisters have dismissed these

allegations labeling them as lies and a

disgusting misrepresentation of our

family immediately after Virginia's

arrest and S pump Hill being sealed off

by police multiple neighbors came

forward to express concerns that they

too may have been poisoned by Virginia

one couple who Virginia had purchased a

Chinese Takeaway for stated that they

were both ill for several days after the

delivery but as there's no financial

gain to be made police did not

investigate it any further they did

however investigate the death of an

85-year-old neighbor on pump Hill who

had passed away 3 weeks prior to

Virginia's arrest after a long-term

Battle of cancer neighbors had tipped

off the police that she'd been bringing

numerous home-cooked meals to this lady

but post morm revealed that no poison

had taken place a close friend of the

woman who' been acting as a carer said

she'd been leaving stuff on the doorstep

like jellies I told the police that she

didn't poison her there was no personal

gain she couldn't get any money it was

completely irrational and over the top

jellies jellies from a

neighbor she's it's multiple neighbors

that she's getting Chinese takeaways

for isn't big John from Essex maybe

straight away

thinking yeah that's a big order you

need to have a pension for that order

[ __ ] me bash and now we move on to the

after M Virginia mccullock was initially

charged with two counts of murder and

made her first appearance at court 3

days after her arrest she made two

additional appearances at court via

video link while remanded in custody but

did not enter a plea after a great deal

of back and forth a trial was eventually

scheduled for October of 2024 however

with Virginia pleading guilty on both

counts of murder the trial stage was

skipped the court was informed that 2

days following the murders Virginia made

a purchase from BQ for 40 building

blocks cement and sharp sand additional

items such as electrical tape and a

stepladder were also later ordered the

court was also told that Virginia had

been diagnosed with autism paranoia

personality disorder and she had

potentially experien a psychotic episode

Virginia's lawyer Christine agu boldly

made the claim Virginia is not using her

autism as an excuse for what she did but

it does in some way explain her actions

I think that is very bold

yeah yeah don't be putting this action

upon that Yes Virginia mccullock was

sentenced to life imprisonment the

minimum term of 36 years she'll be

eligible for parole from the 3rd of

October 2059 when she'll be 71 years old

the same age as a mother when she

murdered her

ooh spooky according to prison sources

ketchup a Mayo she's

making sorry it's a long it's been a

long day detective ketchup in officer

Mayo sumon Mayo according to prison

sources she is making productive use of

her time in prison shortly after the

sentence was delivered joint statement

was issued by three three of the four

Virginia sisters which said the

following our family has been left

devastated and heartbroken at the death

of our parents who were taken from us so

cruy as we tried to move forward with

our lives we will remember the happy

times we enjoyed with them our mom and

dad are forever in our hearts and are

loved and missed Beyond any measure

Richard butcher who didn't provide the

stakes the brother of Lois mccullock and

the uncle of Virginia said in a victim

impact statement what has happened has

undermined my faith in humanity yeah

they I mean I've taken some of these

family uh impact statements um from the

Essex Police website which I'll again

I'll pop there's many more there's pages

of um almost as many as that woman the

neighbors had to list the items but

there's pages and pages of uh impact

statements which I'll pop in our

Facebook group and that they some of

these make reference to all of the times

they had with their grandchildren and

that they'll be missed by their

grandchildren so there definitely was

interaction and physical meetups with

the other sisters I don't know why only

three of the four made the statement

yeah that stood out to me a bit yeah so

I don't know why unless the fourth one

has just genuinely not wanted to be

involved in any of it and hasn't been

able to come to terms which again would

be understandable I don't know totally

yeah as we always say people deal with

grief in different ways and maybe it was

too much to comprehend and be part of so

on the 18th of January 2025 just a few

weeks ago at the time of recording a

tick tocker and blogger was arrested

after they somehow gained access to the

inside of seven pump Hill and they

recorded a great deal of footage which

they then posted online of the inside of

the house the footage which has since

been posted to the Tik Tok account

places forgotten shows both locations

where the bodies were stored as well as

multiple different rooms in the house

police are still investigating the

matter um and how they got access uh to

uh the inside of the

house it's very eerie this footage you

can see what was once the mosum there's

a thing is it it wouldn't be Eerie

without obviously the knowledge we have

it's a fairly you know as you imagine

home and pictures of the couple together

and parents and pictur them of the

grandchildren stuff that it's very yeah

it's very sad to see and even like a

little card from obviously must be the

grandchildren yeah horrible definitely

very horrible so as well as the um the

victim impact statements the video the

Tik Tok video and there's also some

Court transcripts I'll post those in our

in our Facebook group in terms of some

stats around paraside um which is the

murder of a parent Virginia was actually

a double parasite so both both parents

in England and Wales parasite is a rare

event that accounts for roughly 4% of

all homicides the number of parasite

incidents varies from year to year but

averages to around 20 per year and this

is just a single parasite double

parasites of both parents is even more

rare specifically a female being the

perpetrator most perpetrators of

parasite are male which which accounts

for 85 to 90% most perpetrators are

white which which is 84% and most

perpetrators are unmarried which is 89%

most perpetrators also live with their

parents at the time that they commit the

parasite which is up to 70% 51% of the

victims are fathers and 49% are mothers

victims range in age from 25 all the way

through to 101 84% of the victims are

white 8% are black and 7% are Asian yeah

I mean 4% of it even that being of all

murders kind of surprises me slightly I

don't know why but yeah spooky stuff

yeah very spooky so that is the case of

Virginia mull murdered by our daughter

um yeah very interesting and yeah

horrendous case but guys it's that time

Charlie I was already uh a bit biased

cuz he's from Newcastle area but it's

really just written incredibly so I'm

going to read it for you guys hi Lads I

just want to say that I'm a big fan of

the Pod and generally find it very

entertaining the opportunity to share

this experience I had a little while ago

could not be missed I'm pretty sure

there's a logical explanation for it but

even now I can't quite shake this

feeling that something wasn't right

right so my name's Charlie I'm 20 and

I've lived in Newcastle all my life on a

more Sodom note as it's important for

the story it is key that you had the

context of my dad passing away at the

end of lockdown in 2020 with liver

failure sorry to hear that yeah

something we were very aware of but it

still felt sudden that's something I

don't like to think about too much but

it's integral for the story just over a

month ago I was walking home from

meeting some mates it was late maybe

like half 11 and i' left them near

Chinatown cutting through black friers

to get home quicker if you don't know it

black fries is the Le FY in the city

center proper old and at night it's dead

quiet no cars barely any people just a

few street lights and the ruins it's the

kind of place that always feels a bit

too still I was walking past when I

heard someone call my name Charlie it

wasn't too loud more like someone

muttering it under their breath I

stopped turned around but the street

behind me was empty I figured it was one

of my mates taking the piss they

probably shouted after me and the wind

had carried it weird and I was also

fairly pissed so I kept walking I heard

it again Charlie lad I've missed

you and this time it sounded closer I

stopped cold my chest tightened because

the voice was distinctly his I turned

back my stomach Twisted in knots and

that's when I saw the figure standing

just inside the ruins half hidden in the

dark my breath caught in my throat it

looked like him same build same stance

even the way he held himself slightly

hunched like he was tired my head was

screaming at me it couldn't be him but

for those few seconds I genuinely

believed it never have I ever sobered up

so fast then he stepped into the light

and it wasn't him it was just some bloke

his face was gaunt his beard patchy eyes

sunken like he hadn't slept in days he

was wearing layers of old clothes the

Kan you see rough sleepers wearing he

just stood there staring at me I still

trying to shake off at the initial shock

when he spoke again I'm proud of you son

you're doing well for yourself and with

her too she's good for you and that was

the moment I felt proper off because my

my dad never met my girlfriend she lives

in London we met the first year of uni

long after he passed he never knew her

name never knew how serious we were and

I hadn't been on the phone with her

hadn't even mentioned her there was no

way some random bloke and black frers

could have known about her I took a step

back suddenly very aware of how empty

the street was I wanted to ask if he was

okay if he needed help but something

about the way he was just watching me

made my skin crawl then as I turned to

walk away I noticed something a shadow

it stretched the wrong way C sort of

away from the light and set up towards

it and it was at that that I felt it was

a good time to bolt didn't think didn't

look back just walked as fast as I could

until I was out of black fries and I'm

back on a busiest street but the time I

turned around he was obviously gone now

was it a ghost I doubt it most likely it

was just a homeless guy who happened to

say something eerily close to what my

dad would have said the shadow thing

could have been a trick of the light and

hearing my name maybe my mates did shout

it earlier and my brain just latched

onto it the harsh part is when some many

Strang borderline un explainable factors

coincide it makes it impossible to

Fathom and if you boys have any more

logical potential explanations I am all

ears but still black fries is not on the

top of my list for places to revisit

anyway I hope this is the right kind of

story for the Pod and yeah keep up the
