veterans return.

In the elimination, Black Spade Tattoo, Artistic Skin Design, and Bone Face Ink were the

bottom three shops.

If you want it to be anatomically correct, you need a laser.

I feel very insulted when you say that you want to laser our tattoo off.

There is not a spot on this thing that is solid.

This little green guy on the left.

One eye is round and outside of the bottom of the eyelid, and the other eye is squared off

and tucked inside the eyelid.

Eight shops remain to take on returning veteran shops.

But only one will earn a $200,000 prize and the title of master

shop.

So is the pressure getting to you guys?

I made it through about 75% of the competition.

Today, you had to use consistency to replicate a fine work of art.

Your colors are completely different than the colors of the painting.

Biggest problem for me is the face.

It looks like Wilma Flintstone.

You just made some really inconsistent decisions.

No matter who's here this time, there's nobody that's going to stop us from getting to the

For this flash challenge, your canvases all have loved ones with a condition that has permanently

changed their appearance.

To show their support and solidarity, your canvases want an exact replica of their loved one's

condition permanently tattooed on their skin.

Today, the artists want to do exact replicas so that the children can bond with their parents.

Like, look, mommy, daddy has what I have.

You guys should make the poem, like, red.

You realize this is my body now.

Today, I'm looking for consistency in these tattoos so that every little dial on an object

or any little readout can all be done.

He fell on a bonfire, burnt his leg.

If I have it too, he can say, hey, look, my dad's got the same thing as me.

Same thing happened to my daughter.

Serious?

She was two at the time.

She ended up falling in the fire as well.

It was the scariest moment of my life as a parent.

I was 17 when I had my daughter.

It was a kid having a kid.

She saved my life because I was going down just a really dark path.

As soon as I found out that I was pregnant, I stopped everything.

I got into tattooing.

I'm completely and utterly stoked.

I miss her, but at the same time, it makes me remember what I'm here and what I'm fighting

for, and I'm fighting for my little one.

She was born premature, and she had to be in the hospital for a year.

She had nine surgeries in her intestines.

Wow.

Yeah.

When I was six years old, I fell on a pair of hedge clippers, and they went in my face, and

I got this huge scar.

This is like 20 years old.

So I totally know how you feel.

This scar might make you feel embarrassed, but you went through something really hard, and

you survived.

This scar just shows you that you're stronger than what you went through.

Two hours left.

We really want to come in and show that we have what it takes.

So I want Katie to do the lines on this piece, and I'm going to follow up and come in and

do the shading.

I immediately felt some with this kid.

He has Axenfeld Ritter syndrome.

His 139 surgeries have been on his eyes.

I wanted him to see it before he goes blind again.

It's incredible for him to get to see his grandma get tattooed.

understanding that he's going to lose his sight at some point.

Very clean.

I love the fact that she got her own little touch of color in there.

The color's bright.

Solid job.

I got replicated the third degree burn scars.

You replicated it with a lot of really light, light shading.

It looks very smooth and consistent.

Man, I just got to say, this is one of the most intense ones of the day.

This mother being willing to put a huge scar across her midriff is just intense.

There is no better test of consistency than tattooing a famous work of art.

The last time I tattooed a famous work of art, it sent me home.

Using consistency, you need to perfectly replicate your painting down to the brush stroke.

Paintings have a million brush strokes, hundreds of hours worth of work put into them.

And when you only have a few hours to do the tattoo, it's almost impossible to get the job

done.

And for this elimination tattoo, you and your teammate will both tattoo on the same canvas.

Both of you have to do a fair amount of the tattoo.

The biggest thing about this, it needs to look like the painting.

Colors have to be dead on.

Application has to be dead on.

You have to hit exactly what you see in front of you.

For this elimination tattoo, these teams really need to show consistency so that their tattoo

has the same look, feel, mood that the original painting has.

We have to do something that is going to be done in something around five hours.

One of the biggest challenges in recreating these fine works of art is they are too big and

too detailed to recreate the entire painting as a tattoo.

You have to be smart and choose a portion that you can finish.

Obviously, we can't do the entire painting.

The most important section of this painting is them two holding each other.

They're beautiful.

You want to see her legs.

She's falling to her knees to her lover, which is the most important part to me.

This is a canvas from hell.

Your eyes are way too big for this tattoo.

I'm very happy that you're strong to your feelings, but all that would be too much in six

hours.

I feel that if you were going to become Ink Master, you should be able to accommodate me.

Replicating the painting stroke for stroke is not realistic in six hours.

So I'm expecting them to hit the colors and tones and the actual mood and look of that painting.

What is tricky is I want to make sure we get what we get, too, because this is a lot of work

in this one.

Our canvas came in today wanting the Sistine Chapel's creation of Adam on his chest.

You know, the hard part is, you know, it's a painting that took years to do.

We're zooming in on the hands, and we're going to put it on this guy's forearm.

I'm doing the smart thing.

I think you should end it a little higher.

We just really lucked out.

Unkindness, allegory, and artistic skin design are clearly an alliance, and that's a lot of

numbers in a house like this.

on that for this.

You did a great job capturing the look of this painting.

I don't think that anybody could realistically match up stroke per stroke, everything in the

painting.

But capturing the feel and the mood and the tone are the big things for me.

Y'all really did a great job with that.

Basilica, you tattooed dancers at the bar as well.

Obviously, you're competing with the room, but in this particular case, you went head to head

with Black Cobra.

The whole thing is just missing that punchy black.

Anywhere where there's an outline on this painting is really heavy black, like tar.

You guys don't look as deliberate with your black as the painting was.

Black Cobra really punched it in, and that's what makes it really strong.

This is a tricky day, because the guy that you think is going to take it to the end can be

gone today.

So hit these things hard.

The color palette and the contrast, you guys don't particularly hit.

The main thing is that this is a dark figure in the center.

Your tattoo looks light and happy.

If you look in the mouth, the mouth of the goat curls down, and yours actually just goes up.

Very tough grab for yourselves.

If you're really playing this game, then give this to somebody you want out of here.

Old Town Inn.

You tattooed the milkmaid by Vermeer.

You would have been better off leaving some elements out.

The table spent hours on that and then ran out of time and couldn't finish the head wrap,

the shirt, the face.

I mean, not only does it not look like this woman, I don't think it looks like a woman.

The arm, where the thumb connects to the wrist that's pouring the jug, you're missing that

whole dark, black, rich shading.

The consistency issue here is where I feel like it falters the most.

You tattooed Creation of Adam by Michelangelo.

Definitely the most consistent tattooing that I've seen from you guys.

I like the cracked elements of the ceiling.

The anatomical reproduction is really, really nice.

And there's just no doubt as to what this thing is.

This is undeniably the blackest painting, but you miss the richness of the black.

It's not technically put in that solid.

Ultimately, the way it's left is kind of a drag because the skull is a vital part of this

piece, and it looks unfinished.

Y'all just did the skull on a book.

I think y'all captured the look of the painting.

But if you get in and start looking at it, the boat shape isn't the same.

The horizon line isn't the same.

Those structures in the back are totally lost in the tattoo.

But you guys definitely worked your ass off to get the textures, to get the brush strokes.

The look of the painting is primarily achieved.

You saved the faces and the hands until the last 45 minutes of a six-hour tattoo.

Had you chosen to tattoo this part first, you would have a finished tattoo.

For this painting to work, it is capturing the warmth, the palette, the feel, the direction.

And for the completed parts, I think they did a really good job.

On a really positive note, your guys' shading in the face was very nice.

Judging just on consistency, I still have a couple of issues.

You added some shading in the forehead that takes away from the kind of dome look of the original.

Allegory, they did the whole face first and made sure the face was really in there, because

that's like the focal point.

That's the first thing you look at.

I'm going to do with what I like as a painting more.

How about as a tattoo?

Going in and trying to replicate a brush stroke in this instance is the wrong way to go.

You can't replicate a brush stroke that's this big and a tattoo this big.

Look at the outline between the two hands.

That is undeniable.

That is nonexistent.

Technically, this is not really that good of a tattoo.

It's way more pleasurable to look at.

We voted half Black Spade, half Allegory, pretty much.

And when me and Aaron handed out the skulls, we gave them this one because it's the one that's

the most easily translatable to a stencil.

What's easy and what's hard is absolutely subjective.

Guys, what I'm going to say is when you have a huge painting and you're doing a small tattoo,

you can't emulate every brushstroke.

I'm not going to fight back for an unfinished tattoo, but we are not consistently making the

same decisions.

Black Spade have pretty much the same type of flaws.

Black Spade, you could have had a decent tattoo if you finish the faces.

The face and the tones, that's actually easy.

It was more of a planning thing between us and the structuring of the time.

For me, I think the best done tattoo is the one that looks the least like it, and that's unkindness.

Best one done technically, you're saying?

It shows the most promise, but it looks more like a children's book.

This is weird, trying to tattoo paintings in six hours.
