(Episode 79)

Are you okay? Are you hurt?

I'm not sure. What about you?

I'm okay.

Baek Ho, what happened here?

Tae Jin.

I have no idea what's going on.

Some thugs barged in and started smashing things.

There must be a reason.

What reason can there be?

Tae Jin, I was scared to death.

Please don't worry.

They're gone, so nothing will happen.

What on earth is going on?

I can't believe what I saw.

It was like a scene in a movie. They barged in as if they were...

here to take care of a problem and vandalized everything, then left.

Are you okay, Mr. Kang? It looks like you're hurt.

Oh, this. I'm fine.

I'll need to take your statements at the substation.

Officer Moo, take pictures to use as evidence.

Yes, sir.

What happened?

(Chamsu-ri Substation)

Tell me the situation again in detail.

There's not much to tell you.

They showed up out of nowhere and started smashing everything.

They're totally thugs. Their faces looked so menacing too.

Do you remember their faces?

Yes, of course.

They didn't even say a word and started vandalizing the restaurant.

Hee Jin got scared, so she started crying.

One of those jerks even tried to punch Baek Ho.

- Did you get hit? - I avoided all the punches.

Gosh, where did my temper go?

I can't believe I let those jerks do that.

- Hadn't Hee Jin been there... - Are you out of your mind?

Aggravating those jerks wouldn't have done us any good.

Is there anything that comes to your mind as to why they did it?

I've been thinking, but I can't think of anything.

I can't think of why they had to do such a thing.

You know us. We have nothing to do with people like them.

We're home.

Why are you guys home so early today?

Something came up.

I'm sure you two have a lot to do.

Getting ready to move out must be keeping you guys very busy.

We'll be upstairs.

If they decide to move out, don't stop them.

- Mom, by any chance... - You've known about it too, right?

The fact that their mom has been visiting Hee Jin at the restaurant.

I'm sorry, Mom.

So, everyone knew but me.

I didn't know how to bring it up to you.

Does Tae Jin know about it too?

- Yes. - What did he say?

You know how he is.

He must've been speechless when he found out about it.

What should we do now?

She was bound to find out. I should've just told her myself.

Shall I get you the calming medicine?

There's no need.

Just make sure Dad and Grandma never find out.

I'm not crazy. I already feel bad enough.

My gosh, I totally forgot that I was supposed to meet my mom today.

Answer it.

Mom.

What happened?

I saw Tae Jin going into the restaurant earlier.

Did something happen?

What?

What do you mean?

Some jerks showed up and vandalized the restaurant.

I'll call you back later.

You're home. Shall I fill the tub so that you can take a bath?

My gosh, why are you so nice to me today?

- Goodness. - I figured you'd be feeling down.

Even I think the house feels empty without Bo Ra.

Don't worry. She'll clear her mind and come back soon.

I think I should go to her office tomorrow.

Why? Why are you going there?

She left in such a hurry, I'm sure she didn't get to clean up.

I'll clean up and organize the space.

If she left any clothes, I'll bring them home and wash them.

Do whatever you need to do.

I should go wash up.

I'm sure he didn't...

All right. Got it.

They took care of the restaurant.

You got the copies of Ms. Heo's paperwork ready, right?

Yes, I'll bring them later today.

I wonder if everything is okay with Bo Ra's flight.

She'll call us as soon as she arrives.

You were mad at her until the moment she left.

I should've gone to the airport.

Don't worry. She'll come back safe and sound.

I should get going.

Yes. You're getting ready to go to the airport, right?

Sorry?

What do you mean?

Bo Ra said that you don't need to come to the airport?

Hey, has Bo Ra not called you either?

How can she call on the plane?

Gosh, I can't believe she left without even calling me.

Goodness.

Ms. Heo, did something happen?

- What? - You don't look so well.

Oh, I'm just worried about Bo Ra.

The house feels so empty with her gone.

I can't help but worry when I think that she'll be living alone.

Dad, I have to go out to take care of something.

All right. See you later.

Oh, boy. Good work today, everyone.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

- Will you go to the patrol station? - I should.

It would've been nice if they had security cameras at the restaurant.

There's no footage of any kind.

You said it's not another restaurant trying to disturb their business.

The case is so odd.

I don't think the owners would do anything unreasonable,

but it sure looks like thugs' doing.

You said they never took out a private loan or anything like that.

- That's right. - For goodness' sake.

Who are those fearless jerks...

that vandalized a restaurant owned by a police officer's family?

So, it's neither about money nor hostile relationships.

- What is it, then? - Wait.

Hey, what do you all think about this?

It could be someone who's holding a grudge against Mr. Cha.

That can't be.

No, it is possible.

He has caught so many criminals to this date.

That's right. You said they barged in and vandalized everything,

then left without even saying a word as if the whole thing was planned.

It's not like they tussled over something.

Have a good evening, everyone. I should get going.

- All right. - Bye.

- Bye. - See you.

- We should go too. - Okay.

Su Hyuk.

Did you call Bo Ra again to tell her not to come?

What is it this time?

What are you nagging me about now?

Bo Ra sent me the document. It's flawless.

I bet she worked all night long.

You must be happy that things went the way you want them to.

Stop saying weird things. Go and show Ms. Koo the design.

Su Hyuk.

Go on.

What brings you here?

Did you see Bo Ra, by any chance?

Yes, I did.

I was right.

Where is she?

What are you talking about?

- I asked where Bo Ra is! - What on earth do you mean?

You said you met her.

Didn't you two meet up today?

We met yesterday just briefly.

- Is it true? - What's this about?

- Bo Ra disappeared. - What did you say?

I took her to the airport, but she didn't get on the plane.

I can't even get a hold of her. Gosh. This is driving me crazy.

I'm sure she'll come back soon.

Her ID, credit card, and car key.

She left them all behind, and disappeared with nothing.

If Bo Ra get in touch with you,

call me right away please.

Okay.

Su Hyuk.

Marry me.

I want to marry you.

If you say you don't want the same, I won't bother you again.

I'll be out of your hair.

Forever.

Su Hyuk, what did he just say? Why did Bo Ra disappear...

What's going on?

Bo Ra!

It doesn't taste like it.

- Let's go! - Guys, wait up!

Excuse me. Didn't Bo Ra come here?

No, she didn't. She hasn't come here for a while.

Oh, my. Is that true?

I can't believe it.

Why do so many weird things happen these days?

So, did anyone get hurt?

Fortunately, no.

They must've been shocked since gangsters caused a commotion.

By the way, do they really not know who they are?

No, they don't. They said they haven't seen them before.

In fact, the residents in an apartment fought with a knife...

because of the noise from the upper floor.

The resident on the lower floor had been holding a grudge,

but the victim had no idea.

I don't know how this world will become. Gosh.

- Where is Su Hyuk? - Pardon?

He has something to take care of.

He must be so busy that he can't even come home.

I should pack some food for him.

Please don't. Su Hyuk has a lot to do.

He'll come home tonight. Please don't worry.

Why?

Hey. He doesn't seem to know what happened today.

Shouldn't we tell him?

I'm not sure.

Right. It's not that it happened at home.

It would only make him worry.

His mom wouldn't want that either.

What's wrong? Did something happen?

- I heard Bo Ra had disappeared. - What?

I overheard him through the door, so I didn't hear everything.

Bo Ra was supposed to go to the US, but she disappeared.

She didn't even take her ID.

Where is Su Hyuk?

He went out to find Bo Ra, of course.

He's not in his right mind.

He pushed me and went out. He looked like a crazy person.

Yes, it's me. What's going on with you?

Why aren't you coming home?

I'm sorry, Mom. I'll call you back later.

Su Hyuk.

Did he hang up?

I'm sure something is going on.

What's wrong, Grandma?

What? Oh, it's nothing.

It's none of your business. Go brush your teeth now.

Do you want to be late for your class?

I can't let that happen.

Do you know anything?

I'm sure he's just busy.

Even if he's busy with his work,

he would never hang up the phone like this.

He hung up as soon as he answered.

As if he was out of his senses.

I hang up the phone quickly when I'm busy at work too.

You're always too sensitive when it comes to Su Hyuk.

This is Officer Moo Goong Hwa.

Can I see you now briefly?

Welcome.

Did you hear it from your brother?

No, his work colleague told me.

I'm sorry.

For a moment, I thought she might've been with Su Hyuk.

That's where Bo Ra would want to be.

But he didn't seem to know anything about it.

Are you sure she's still in Korea?

Yes. She didn't get on the plane.

I'm worried.

I don't think she did it on a whim.

She's not a person who would do something like this on a whim.

She left her ID and wallet at home. Seeing that she left with nothing,

it looks like she had planned this.

Did you check accommodations like a hotel?

Last night, I had some people check all the places...

she would've gone to including hotels, but she wasn't found.

The only things she took with her is her mobile phone, but it's off.

My dad will throw a fit if he finds out.

She must've been distressed so much.

I was going to ask you a favor.

Go ahead.

I think the only way to find her is to track the location of her phone.

You need to make a request by yourself.

In that case, if she calls Su Hyuk,

please let me know.

Okay.

- So, they don't even have a clue? - That's right.

That's so weird.

Not just 1, but 2 people went there.

I thought about it a lot, but it doesn't seem like a coincidence.

Hi.

Did you drop by somewhere on your way here?

Someone I know asked me about the phone location tracking.

Why? Did someone disappear again?

It's just someone I know.

- Ms. Lee. - Where is Su Hyuk?

Well, he is...

Something is going on with him, right?

Tell me. What is it?

It's about Bo Ra, right?

You should ask Su Hyuk.

Ms. Lee.

- Ma'am. - Ms. Lee.

Have a seat.

What brings you here?

I came to see Bo Ra.

Why do you need to see her?

Have you been coming here often to see her?

It's not like I wanted to come here.

I heard that Chairman Jin came to see my son.

I really don't want that to happen again,

so I want to ask her to completely end it with Su Hyuk.

That's why I'm here.

- She's gone. - Pardon me?

She left for the US yesterday.

I guess you didn't know.

Did you think that she'd stay by your son's side forever?

Are you here because you were worried about that?

Ma'am.

Bo Ra is way too good for your son.

What are you talking about?

Listen. I do not want to have...

anything to do with your family.

I'm glad to hear that she left.

Have you found a job yet?

I can help you find one if you're in urgent need of a job.

Did you really have to say that now?

Does being condescending to others make you feel better about yourself?

It must not be easy for you to find another housekeeper.

I wonder how you're doing.

I don't think we're meant to be on good terms.

You're right.

I was wishing we had never crossed paths.

I hope that we never have to see each other again.

I can't stop thinking about the last thing she said to me.

What did she say?

She told me that she's doing her very best to be okay.

When I heard that,

I just thought that she might be thinking about leaving Su Hyuk.

I had no idea that she had made up her mind to disappear like this.

Had I known, I would've tried to talk to her more that day.

She must've been so scared.

I thought she looked delicate, but she's actually very strong.

She didn't look like the type of person who'd do such a thing.

I know, right?

What if she never comes back?

Su Hyuk won't be able to live if she doesn't come back.

I'm envious.

I'm talking about your brother.

She's absolutely in love with him.

She's willing to give up her everything to protect her love...

for him.

Are you saying you wish I was like her?

How did you know?

I'm not in the mood for jokes right now.

It looks like that man, Chairman Jin, is very vicious.

She planned this fully knowing how her father is.

She's so brave.

What would you have done?

If you were a divorced man with a child,

I would've run to you right away.

But...

do you think you would've accepted me?

I bet you would've said no.

And had my family told you to leave your child with the mom,

you would've cut me out of your life.

I know you.

Where are you, Bo Ra?

What's the matter?

Oh, it's nothing.

Did Bo Ra arrive safely?

Yes. Is there something you want to tell me?

I think Ms. Heo is trying to put the arcade under her daughter's name.

She's also looking for an apartment in the area.

She's giving them our properties one by one.

I won't let it happen.

Thanks.

Hae Chan's dad really has no idea what it was about?

I told you he has no clue.

There might be things that he can't tell you.

Then I would've picked up on it.

I could tell that he doesn't know them at all.

- I see. - They totally looked like thugs.

Thinking about that day still gives me shudders.

What did Tae Jin say?

He said he'd be sure to catch them and told me not to worry.

Tae Jin makes me feel safe.

Right.

If they get caught, I want to ask them...

why they did such a thing to us.

I want to know the reason.

What's going on?

You never call me.

Can we meet up for a few minutes?

Hello.

Don't work too hard.

Let's go in.

Shall I make some tea?

No, it's okay.

He's impressive.

He even has connections in politics. He's an influential man.

What's important is that he keeps all of his connections hidden.

What about his family? Have you looked into it?

Yes, his son's name is Jin Do Hyun.

It looks like he's trying to break into the hotel industry,

but I think he has a nasty temper.

But Chairman Jin's wife is the one to watch out for.

I think she's worse than him.

- She's really no better than him. - Is that right?

I heard they met while lending money to vendors at markets.

She even has a criminal record. It sounds like she's really something.

She doesn't hesitate to use any means if there's money involved.

I heard that she has even sent a few people to jail.

You made it.

What's going on? You've never asked to meet up like this.

You should give up.

Give up what?

The lawsuit for property division.

Aren't you preparing for one?

I think you've been misinformed.

Gosh, come on.

Do you think I asked you to meet up with me without even checking?

You want me to give up?

Then I wouldn't even have begun.

Shouldn't you know me better by now?

Do you think I would've started such a thing...

without caution and proper preparation?

So? Will you take this to the end?

Of course.

Why should I give up when I'm confident that I'll win?

How can you be so confident when you have such a troubled past?

From what I know, a few people went to jail in your place.

You know that it was your dad's doing.

Right. I'm just worried about you, that's all.

You know how my dad is.

He has no mercy on those who betray him.

If you take a gamble on this,

both of you will lose everything.

I'll let it roll and see what happens. What else can I do?

Sit down.

If you leave now, I'll go meet your son.

Can I do that, Ms. Heo?

Shall I meet your son...

and tell him how you're doing...

and what you've been up to since abandoning your children?

Shall I go ahead and tell him everything?

How dare you?

Do you think you can deal with it?

Cha Tae Jin.

I found out that Inspector Cha is your son.

My goodness.

Cha Tae Jin.

Your son acts as if he's a justice incarnate.

He thinks he's better than others.

What would he do if he finds out the truth about you?

Are you planning to take my money,

and give it to your son?

Do you think he'll be happy about it?

The money you made by doing all sorts of dirty work.

Would he be happy to take that money?

Unfortunately, Ms. Heo,

your son...

isn't like you.

You should give it all up now,

and lead a quiet life. Got it?

If you want to keep what you still have now.

Does your dad...

also know about this?

I'm not crazy. I wouldn't break his heart.

I said before...

I will help my dad live a life the way he wants it to be.

As long as he wants you,

you'll never be able to leave him.

Where on earth have you been?

Mom.

I heard that Bo Ra went to the US.

Is that why you're acing this way?

Bo Ra disappeared.

What did you say?

(Love Welfare Center)

Hello.

- Thank you for your hard work. - See you.

(Lovers in Bloom)

I'll send you a video. Find out who that is for me.

Is there a person here by the name Jin Bo Ra?

I searched everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.

I'm in so much pain.

- Did they find the location? - Can you come with me?

- Where are you? - I'm home.

Now is not a good time.

- Mr. Cha. - I can't pause it like you.

- Never mess with my children again. - What are you going to do?

I said I have nothing to talk about with you!

Isn't seeing Hee Jin enough for you?

Did she come here because of Bo Ra?

She's Bo Ra's mom.

What did you say?
