The Leicester Police control room
received a 999 call

from a male that was in a car.

[man] They've got balaclavas on.

They're trying to kill me.

This man was very, very scared.

[man] They're right behind us.
They're right behind!

[screeching and crashing]

They've hit into
the back of the car very fast.

They're trying to ram us off the road.
Please, I'm begging you. I'm gonna die.

It's staggering, the fear.
I can't imagine the fear.

[man] I think I'm gonna die.

[Tony Yarwood] Then, it just went silent.

The car has been chased
and rammed off the road and people died.

What is going on here?

Social media is the heart
of this investigation.

This was a case about love, obsession,
anger, extortion,

and ultimately murder.

[gun firing and clicking]

[newsreader] The A46 is closed in both
directions in Leicestershire this morning

because of a collision
and vehicle fire overnight.

[police siren]

[Tony] Within about four minutes, the
first police officers arrived at the scene

on the northbound carriageway of the A46
between Leicester and Nottingham.

The scene itself was horrific. They found
the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Officers were unable to approach
the vehicle due to the sheer heat.

The police were met with a car
that had hit a tree with such force,

the car had actually split in two.

The occupants were both deceased
inside the vehicle.

[Tony] Because the bodies
were so badly burned,

we had to make the identification
through their dental records.

And we identified those two young men

as Hashim Ijazuddin and Saqib Hussain.

[Mark] One of the hardest parts
is to speak to the families

about the death of their sons.

[Sikander Hayat]
Two police ladies turned up at the house.

At that moment,
I realized something's gone wrong.

Then they told me that,
"Your son has been killed."

Everybody just started crying and wailing,
and it's something that,

your whole life,
you can't forget about it,

and it's each and every single minute,
second about it, you know.

It's too difficult to describe.

The police informed me that...

...Saqib had passed away,

and it just felt like
my whole body went numb.

And they believed
it's a murder investigation,

which was just truly shocking to hear.

[crowd cheering and clapping]

Hashim, whatever he'd done,
he always overdone it.

He was cut from a different cloth.

He was totally different from the rest.

I could not think of anything about my son

that could lead to his murder.
There's nothing at all.

[Sajad] Saqib first met Hashim
when they were at primary school.

They actually grew closer together
after secondary school,

when they went to college together.

Saqib had a contagious,
cheeky sort of smile.

He got on with everyone.

I didn't even, in my wildest dreams, think
anything like this would ever happen.

It was just mind-boggling to think,
why would anyone do this?

I got to the control room and declared
that this was a murder investigation,

and went by the name of Operation Feather.

[Mark] Once you identify
that it's a murder investigation,

a lot more officers are deployed.

We would have had 40 or 50 detectives
gathering the evidence.

When any murder investigation starts,
the clock is always ticking.

I'm trying to work out,
"What could this be about?

Is it domestic-related?
Is it gang-related?"

We don't know yet,
but that's the information that we need.

[Saqib] There's guys following me.
They're trying to kill me.

The 999 call was a really key
bit of evidence in this case.

It gave us
a lot of information straightaway.

[Saqib] Yes. Yes, I'm being followed
by two vehicles.

One is Audi TT.
I can't get the registration number.

It was key for me
that I identified those cars.

It's a race against time.

We look for CCTV, we look for witnesses.

[Mark] Where the murder occurred
is an unlit stretch of dual carriageway.

There are no buildings around it,

so we were hampered
because we didn't have any CCTV

that actually covered
the final moments of the pursuit.

So, therefore, we had to work backwards
and gather the CCTV on the route

to show the sequence of events
leading up to the crash.

[Tony] It is a huge, mammoth task, almost
like looking for a needle in a haystack.

But within three hours,
officers had managed to identify CCTV,

which showed us that Saqib and Hashim
had driven their car,

a silver Škoda Fabia,
into a nearby Tesco's car park.

It's a fairly empty car park.

We see Saqib and Hashim go to the far end
of the car park away from Tesco's,

and there are two other vehicles there.

All three vehicles were in the car park
about 10 minutes before the crash.

That was a eureka moment
in the investigation.

[Mark] It's at that point that I think
Saqib and Hashim

understand that something's happening,

and they're scared
and they leave very, very quickly.

They had seen something they didn't like,
and they were trying to get away.

And one of the cars immediately follows
the Škoda out, followed by the second one.

That is the point
when a car chase started.

But why were these three cars
in this place?

And then why did one wanna get away?

We had to work out what was going on.

We established
the registration number of the Audi TT,

and it came back to a hire company.

It was in the hands of a lady
who came from the Stoke area,

so officers were dispatched
to that address.

And there they found Mahek Bukhari.

-Oh, my days! Is that May B Vlogs, yeah?
-Yeah, it is.

-I'm a massive fan, honestly.
-Oh, my God, no way. That means a lot.

[Mark] Mahek Bukhari was
a glamorous TikTok influencer.

[speaking Spanish] Hola! Soy Dora!

[speaking English] Can you show me
where I asked for your opinion?

[Mark] She had over 100,000 followers
and millions of likes on various videos.

It's really unusual

to see a TikTok influencer
involved in a murder investigation.

[gun firing and clicking]

After we had identified Mahek Bukhari
was living in Stoke,

we sent local officers
to her home address.

The officers were keen to understand
who had been driving the Audi TT.

No, yeah, we were out.

-Where were you at? Where was that?
-So, first, we stayed here,

and then we went straight to Nottingham.

Right.

-Okay. In the Audi?
-Yes.

-Audi, yeah.
-Right.

She put herself
in the Audi TT in Nottingham.

From CCTV footage,
we could put that Audi TT

close to the scene of this murder
in Leicester, moments before the crash.

We knew it just didn't tally up.
She was lying.

And the fact that Mahek had put her mum
in the car was a significant point.

The decision was therefore made to arrest,
both, Ansreen Bukhari and Mahek Bukhari

on suspicion of murder.

[Mark] To arrest mother and daughter
on suspicion of murder,

I've never experienced that before.

Right.

[Tony] I had to ask myself,
"Why is this social media influencer

and her mum, Ansreen, linked to a car
that is linked to a murder?"

[hip-hop music playing]

as "May B Vlogs" online.

I hope you guys enjoy. See you later.

She was doing dance videos,
posting on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram.

Me and Mahek met originally on TikTok.
I don't wanna get any public backlash,

but I just want people to know
my side of the story.

When I met Mahek,
her followers were around 100K,

but then it went up to about 180K.

I remember her telling me
she wanted to reach 200K.

Mahek was studying fashion
in Manchester University.

She didn't want to go ahead
with university, so she dropped out.

She wanted to focus on
her career with TikTok.

She was good at what she was doing.

She was successful,
getting more followers.

It's been so fricking long.
Like, I feel so bad.

[Rajiv] She was living the dream.

She was being invited
to all these fancy places

that she wouldn't necessarily
have got the opportunity to go to.

[ex-partner]
She was making money off her TikTok.

The more views she would get,
she would get more money out of it.

[Naveed] Just because I was creating
content and she was creating content,

I ended up meeting her in person.

May B Vlogs' in the building.

-What you saying, G? You good, yeah?
-Hey! Yeah.

[Naveed] We'd been invited to an
influencer event for a restaurant opening

and her mum was at the event.

-Hello, lovelies!
-Hi!

Mahek and Ansreen's relationship
was quite an interesting one.

[Tony] Ansreen is also heavily involved
with the social media world.

[Rajiv] Ansreen was a mum of two.

She was married, she worked in retail.

She lived in Stoke-On-Trent,
originally of Pakistani origin.

It was a fairly dull, humdrum lifestyle.

That was until her daughter's
social media career took off.

Hot mom check.

The content that Mahek and Ansreen
were putting out there was sexualized.

It was immodest.

Especially within the Pakistani community.

Coming from a Muslim background,
it did spark a lot of controversy,

but once she was doing
videos with her mum, Ansreen,

she built a lot of followers,
more and more.

I felt as if her mother, Ansreen,
was obviously feeding off Mahek,

getting the perks Mahek was also getting.

She was constantly with Mahek 24/7.

Ansreen definitely became obsessed
with the social media world.

I'm not heavily into
this social media side,

so I'm trying to work out

what is this about and what does it mean
in relation to this investigation.

Both, Ansreen and Mahek were taken
to be interviewed about this murder.

With any suspect interview,
we have a limited time

that we can hold them in custody.

It's an initial 24 hours,
so the clock is ticking.

Tell me, in as much detail
as you can, please, about your movements.

We've gone straight with my mum,
just with me and my mum,

we've gone straight.
Our intentions were Nottingham.

Instead of an hour-and-twenty, took us
an hour-and-forty-five to 50 minutes.

And we've ended up in Leicester...

[Tony] She doesn't get lost in Nottingham.

We know that from the CCTV enquiries
that are going on.

The story then changes that
she's driving along very normally,

and then, she says,
the silver car goes past.

It's come zooming down.

I've kept
the second-to-three-second rule gap,

and then the blue León's in front,
and I'm at the back.

This silver car has come
and cut into the middle.

So, we're basically all three cars,
very close.

She's, you know, "I'm driving ever
so safely. I stick to the speed limit."

The silver car's hit the blue car
at the back, like a touch,

but you can tell
the blue car's gone a bit faster.

All I see is flames.

I've gone past this
and I've seen flames on the other side.

I started bursting out in tears,
and I was like,

"Mum, is this the same car?" And she was
like, "Don't shake, it's okay."

'Cause... But we didn't see it.

And the reason why I haven't reported it
and I didn't see or anything

is only because there was ambulances
straightaway already there...

[Mark] We knew that
the ambulance hadn't been called.

There was no other emergency vehicles
at the scene of the crash,

until the police officers arrived.

[Tony] It was a ball of flames
with Saqib and Hashim still in there.

And they did nothing at all
to try and help those two lads.

Absolutely nothing.

In my eyes, that was despicable.

When I play this footage, please, ma'am,

I want you to focus your attention,
please, on there.

Okay.

You said you did not see any other car.

-Yeah. Like I...
-That footage...

-Yeah.
-...shows you following a blue car.

-I understand, I understand. Yeah.
-Okay.

You could see her demeanour changing.

She was becoming more uncomfortable
'cause she knows she was lying.

And she knows we know she's lying.

How do you account for that?

Can I have a sec?

Yeah. My client is indicating
for a break, so...

Okay, absolutely, absolutely.

We were getting closer to the truth
and reality is dawning on her.

Whilst the interviews
are going on with Mahek,

we've got other officers doing
a suspect interview with Ansreen.

But she didn't answer any questions.
She went "no comment" to questions.

Which, for me, raises alarm bells.

I felt both, Mahek and Ansreen
were hiding a lot of information from us.

It was clear that behind the veneer
of this glamorous social media life

that Ansreen and Mahek were portraying,

there was something very, very dark
that was taking place.

Being a friend or family member
of an influencer

can be quite intoxicating.

[ex-partner] There was a lot of men
commenting on Ansreen's appearance,

calling her beautiful,
the way that she was dressed,

the way that she was showing her skin.

She was also getting
the same attention Mahek was getting.

[Naveed] And she was probably excited
about the fact

that she had younger men
more attracted to her.

During my time with Mahek,

I did find out that her mother was
having affairs behind her husband's back,

and Mahek was keeping that secret
from her dad.

My trust immediately broke with Mahek.

And I did end up leaving her.

[Tony] Whilst the interviews
are continuing,

we still got to continue the hunt
for other people involved in this murder.

[Mark] Further CCTV that we discovered...

...shows three cars together
for the very first time.

So, there was a second vehicle involved

and we needed to track down
that second vehicle.

We knew it was a blue SEAT León

travelling back away from Leicester
through Loughborough

and back towards the West Midlands

after Saqib and Hashim had been killed.

So, we contacted West Midlands Police
and notified them to stop the vehicle

and arrest the occupants
on suspicion of murder.

[Tony] A short time later, West Midlands
Police came across that vehicle.

There was only one person in the car
at that time, and that was the driver,

and that was Natasha Akhtar.

[Rajiv]
Natasha Akhtar was in her early twenties.

She was a law student, but she was also
trying her hand at social media.

She was on TikTok, but she was
nowhere near as popular as Mahek.

[beeping]

[Mark] We were hoping that Natasha
would also provide us

with an account about her movements,
her involvement,

but also really importantly,
who else was in the vehicle.

[Tony] Natasha opted to go "no comment"
during her series of interviews.

To just go silent can be frustrating.

At this point in the investigation,
we've got three women in custody.

We've got two cars with just three ladies

who've done such an extreme crime
as to ram a car off the road.

We recovered phones from those people.

Those phones are examined,

but Mahek's phone was PIN-locked.

So, we needed a PIN code to get into it.

Within that phone could be a significant
amount of evidence and information.

But unfortunately,
she didn't give us that PIN code.

But we still got phones from Natasha,
phones from Ansreen.

And we were soon able to establish,

around the time of the crash
and shortly before,

several phone calls going in between
two other numbers,

associated to a Raees Jamal
and a Rekan Karwan.

[Mark] We were able to link Raees Jamal
and Rekan Karwan...

...to Mahek's social media accounts.

They were followers
of her on social media.

Looking at their phone data,
we could put them

in the proximity of the crime scene
at the time of the offence.

[Saqib] There's guys following me.

They've got balaclavas on.

Could these be the males
that were wearing balaclavas in the car?

[Mark] By the time we'd arrested Rekan
and Raees, we had five people in custody.

But we needed to understand
if anybody else had been in the vehicle.

It was a difficult time
because we didn't really know

the whole truth of what had happened
that evening.

[Sikander] As the days passed,
the information from the police was

trickling in as they were doing
the investigation.

But they kept us updated,

one arrest, the second arrest,
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

[Sajad]
The family liaison officers were great,

and I was really grateful for them,

because we wanted justice
for our children, Saqib and Hashim.

[Tony] As the CCTV inquiries progressed,
we located a camera,

which showed
at 2:00 in the morning,

a short time after the crash,

a group of people walking along
the street in Leicester.

A group, slightly split,
of a total of seven people.

And we were able to identify
through clothing

that we'd recovered from the five people
we had in custody,

Natasha, Mahek, Ansreen,
Rekan, and Raees were part of that group.

That's a significant breakthrough.

Have we now got, maybe, eight people
involved and included in the two cars?

And three of them were outstanding.
We needed to find those people.

[newsreader] Two women charged with murder

after two people died in a car crash
in Leicestershire.

[Rajiv] When Mahek and Ansreen
were charged with murder,

there was a lot of chatter
on social media, a lot of speculation.

Remember, Mahek Bukhari,
the TikTok influencer and her mum?

They have this really adorable
wholesome family image

and suddenly, they're on trial for murder?

And so they start plotting,
planning, scheming...

Y'all need to quit going on social media
and giving the police the blueprint.

So, this is obviously a massive shock.

The whole scenario is just wild.

It's so bizarre.

"What the hell is happening here?"

I first heard when Mahek and Ansreen
had been arrested

when I think most of us heard,
when it went online.

Mahek and Ansreen's arrest went viral

not only because of their relationship
but also because she was an influencer.

[ex-partner] I was just looking into
the phone and I was just purely in shock.

I had no words.

I felt as if every influencer started
to speak about the story.

There were a lot of hate comments
under TikTok videos.

[ex-partner] I did hide away
from all of it. I was worried

because I was Mahek's ex-partner.

I used to get a lot of death threats,

so, mentally,
it was really draining for me.

It's a scary place,
the social media world.

May B Vlogs, it's not a good idea
for you to be out and everything,

because people are after you.

Within five weeks, we had located
and arrested the three other people.

They were Mohammed Patel,
Sanaf Gulammustafa

and Ameer Jamal.

So in total, eight people
had been identified and arrested.

It was just shocking and heartbreaking

to know so many people had been involved
in murdering Saqib and Hashim.

I just couldn't make sense
of who these people were

and why they had done what they'd done.

It was tricky for the police
to work out exactly what was going on,

to piece together a motive.

Why were two men found dead in a car?

[Mark] We knew that Saqib and Hashim
had travelled from Banbury,

we knew that Ansreen and Mahek
had travelled from Stoke,

and we knew the others had travelled
from the West Midlands in Leicester.

So, we felt there was
some planning involved.

Everything seemed to come back
towards Mahek and Ansreen,

as if the whole thing
centred around those two.

We had to show that
they intended to murder somebody.

And it's very difficult
to prove "intent to kill" to a jury.

So there was a lot of pressure on myself
and others to present our evidence,

mainly for the families
'cause we were doing it for them.

Just over a year after the crash,
just two days before the trial,

detectives made a monumental discovery
that blew the case wide open.

And that gave them
all the answers they needed

for a motive as to why
the two men were murdered.

We were able to access
Mahek Bukhari's phone,

and that provided us with
a raft of information and evidence

that brought the whole case together.

This was a really important discovery.

It was just such a key moment for us.

[reporter] The prosecution opened its case
against the eight defendants today,

including two women...

[Sajad] When the trial was about to start,

there was so much media attention
to this case.

Very difficult to stay focused

when so many people
are watching or talking about you.

[reporter]
The families of Saqib and Hashim

were ready to find out the fate
of their murderers.

There are so many people involved
in today's case.

It is a rollercoaster.

[reporter] A social media influencer and
her mother have gone on trial for murder.

It's unclear how much of this
they actually planned.

It's up for debate.

And this is one of those cases
where it is hard

to get the exact truth on what happened.

[Sikander]
I've never been to a trial ever,

but I went every single day
and I would not...

I was not willing
to miss a second of the trial.

It was very important to me to be there

because I was the father of Hashim,
and, for me, I had to represent him.

[Mark] When we started the trial,
we could show connections,

we could show the motive,
we could show the reasons.

What they found within Mahek's phone
confirmed exactly what had gone on.

[Mark]
We had looked through Ansreen's phone,

but we couldn't find any real links
between her and Saqib.

But the messages that had been deleted
from Ansreen's phone

were on Mahek's phone.

Between August 2021 and February 2022,

there were in excess
of 1,700 calls or messages

between Saqib and Ansreen.

[Tony] There was explicit photographs
within Saqib's phone of Ansreen.

So, all this put together,
confirmed that there was an affair

between Ansreen and Saqib
for, approximately, three years.

This is a 21-year-old lad having an affair

with a lady in her mid-forties

who was married, with a family.

But what really jumped out
was her daughter

knew about the relationship as well.

This was unprecedented.

This was such a bizarre set
of circumstances.

[Rajiv] There was this huge bombshell

when it was revealed that Ansreen
had been having an affair with Saqib.

That was a complete shocker.

From the press perspective,
it became a bigger story.

We weren't aware of his relationship
with Ansreen until it came out in court.

It was a bit of a shock to the system.

I didn't know that Saqib was talking
to somebody of that age.

I was shocked to hear that Ansreen
was dating a much, much younger guy.

The repercussions for Ansreen
of the affair getting out

could have been quite serious.

She literally would have lost everything.

Mahek's social media influence
would have also been tarnished.

So Ansreen wanted
to break the relationship

between Saqib and herself in January 2022,

and it's at that moment there
that it escalates.

He was almost obsessed with her
and he couldn't handle this breakdown.

At this point, things took
a more sinister turn.

[Tony] Saqib was threatening
to circulate those explicit photos,

to tell Ansreen's husband
about the affair.

[Tony] And he wanted a sum of money paid,

in his eyes, to stop these photographs
being circulated.

If obsession becomes out of control,
it's a very dangerous emotion.

[Rajiv] During the trial,
the prosecution had to piece together

the exact circumstances that led
to the murders of Hashim and Saqib.

[Tony] We could see from the messages
between Saqib and Ansreen

that the threats were coming in.

So, Ansreen couldn't deal with this,

so she turned
to her daughter, Mahek, for help.

[Mark] Ansreen had told Mahek
about the affair,

and the escalation of calls,
and the various threats.

And there's a key message from Mahek
that goes back to Ansreen that says,

"I'll get him jumped by some guys
and he won't know what day it is."

That message was really important for us
'cause it shows Mahek's intent

to cause some form of harm to Saqib

by bringing people together to seize
that phone off him, by whatever means,

so that he would be prevented
from sharing those images.

[Tony] She contacts Rekan.

And we can see from phone records

that Rekan then starts to recruit others
to take part.

And we have this group that comes together

as part of Mahek's plan
to prevent that harm to her mum.

Saqib's messages
are becoming more intense.

It's as if Saqib's becoming
more agitated, more desperate.

[Mark] Because Saqib isn't getting
any answers from Ansreen,

he escalates it even further.

He's gonna come to Stoke, he's gonna show
her husband and her son the photographs,

and that's the point where I think
that Mahek and Ansreen panic.

[Tony] They need to act,
they need to act quick.

And it could well have been
the tipping point

of when Mahek says,
"We will initiate the plan."

They were going to lure Saqib to Leicester
and pay him the money that he was after.

But there was no money.

Saqib finished his shift at work
and he came home.

He was a bit quiet.
A lot quieter than normal.

[Tony] We found CCTV that showed
Mahek and Ansreen stopped off

on the way into Leicester
and put fuel into the car.

Later on that evening, Saqib said,
"Dad, I'm just gonna go out,

I'm just grabbing some food,
and I'll be back in a bit."

And after checking the CCTV,
I could see Hashim's car outside.

The last interaction
that Hashim had with his mother,

as per her story,
she said that he came home and he said,

"Mum, I'm just giving somebody a lift,
I'll be back very soon."

[Mark]
Hashim is purely an innocent person.

He has no connection and no knowledge
of Mahek or Ansreen, or anybody else.

He was just helping a friend.

The meet was to take place
on Tesco's car park,

just on the outskirts of Leicester.

Mohammed Patel was an eyewitness
in the Audi.

So he was actually
in one of the suspect cars

as the incident was happening.

And he told us that
when they met at the Tesco car park,

he was shown balaclavas
and was given, by Raees,

a wheel brace for a car,

clearly to use as a weapon,
I would suggest.

Saqib and Hashim drove the Škoda
into Tesco's car park

and they clearly saw the León and the TT.

They weren't comfortable.

They left,
and that's when the chase starts.

[Saqib] There's guys following me.
They've got balaclavas on.

They're right behind us.
They're right behind.

Just at the start of the A46,

we can see the SEAT León

accelerates past the Škoda,
and goes in front of it.

There's a clear attempt to box in
the Škoda and try and stop it.

That's at the point
when our CCTV coverage stops.

There's no further coverage of the A46.

But our eyewitness tells us of
an open phone line between the cars,

so he's able to hear both sides
of the conversation.

There was a phone call
between Hashim's phone,

being used by Saqib, and Mahek.

And she says,
"Watch what I'm gonna to do to you."

[engines roaring]

They're now reaching speeds
of 100 miles an hour to try and get away.

But these cars are keeping up with them.

It's staggering, the fear.
I can't imagine the fear.

There's a conversation between Rekan
and Raees, the driver of the SEAT León.

Raees is heard to say, "I'm gonna have to
stop this guy, I might have to ram him."

To which Rekan replies, "Ram him."

[Saqib] They've hit the back
of the car very fast.

They're trying to ram us off the road.
Please, I'm begging you, I'm going to die.

The SEAT León was travelling at 80 miles
an hour when it rammed the Škoda.

[Saqib] I think I'm gonna die.

[Tony] And you can hear the sheer panic
on Saqib's voice.

[screeching]

And then there's silence.

[Mark] It was probably one of the most
horrific 999 calls you could hear.

But it's their last words.

Really impacted.

I think it's just the words, his voice.

[Sajad] It was very emotional and
very distressing to hear that phone call.

It was just so hard to take,
to hear the fear in his voice.

[Mark] I certainly was very comfortable
that we had done everything we could

to put this to the jury,

and, ultimately, it's their decision.

[Sikander]
The jury had retired to deliberate,

and I was very, very nervous
that the verdict might not go our way.

I was just, like, praying and praying
and praying that it'd go our way.

Mahek's demeanour was quite surprising,
because she was quite jovial.

And that was quite shocking
to see, really,

because she was in court,
charged with murder,

and this was being followed so closely
on all the various social media platforms.

[Noor Jasmine] She was laughing and joking
with her co-defendants

while they were sat at the dock.

Mahek was playing Monopoly and Uno,
like, in the courtroom.

[Adrian] Mahek was seen by reporters
outside of Leicester Crown Court

laughing and waving at them
from a balcony.

It's just so sick, you know? It's...

It's just disrespectful
upon disrespectful.

I still remember looking directly at
the dock when they read the verdicts out.

Some breaking news to bring you,

and in the past hour,
a mother and daughter

have been found guilty
of murdering two young men

Ansreen, maybe, was prepared
and knew what was coming.

However, Mahek, who seemed to think
she would get away with all this,

was more in shock and anger,
and screamed out and kicked out.

It's the only time where mother
and daughter have been convicted

of murder of two people in the UK.

When the verdicts came through,
social media went wild.

Ansreen and Mahek are massive liars.

There was so much evidence
presented in the trial.

You're a liar, she's a liar.

You would lie for her,
she lied for you, like...

My family and I would like to thank
Leicestershire Police

for ensuring that those responsible
for Saqib and Hashim's death

could not evade justice.

We got justice for Saqib and Hashim,
and their family.

But I wish I wasn't here,

because people have lost their lives
if we're doing our job.

in all this situation.

The judge said that Mahek
had become utterly self-obsessed

and that she had developed
a sense of self-entitlement.

Mahek's worry and fear
about the loss of her influence

caused a lot of what happened.

If she had not been so fixated
with her social media account,

Saqib and Hashim would be alive today,

because she would not have done
what she did.

[Sajad] For us, as a family, it feels like
we're beginning our own life sentence.

We're going to have to spend
the rest of our lives without our son.

By killing my son, in essence,
they've killed me as well,

because I'm not the same person anymore.
