falls from the sky,

but what is it?

The specimen

The Bible talks a
lot about rain and storms.

Sometimes it's a prophecy

bringing something
deeply negative.

And is this
mysterious monument a warning

of the apocalypse?

Whoever built this
built it in a motivation

that the world and humanity
were gonna have to start again.

Around the world,

unexplained phenomena
are being recorded.

Tonight's focus, biblical wrath.

According to the
Revelation of John

in the Bible, the apocalypse
or the end times are going

to be heralded by
these trumpets.

Our experts will
analyze the evidence.

Birds are not
known for smashing

into the ground.

So what exactly is happening
to make them act this way?

And then
we'll pass a verdict.

We see multiple
religions associate

this idea with the end of
the world, the apocalypse.

Good evening and welcome to
"The Proof is Out There."

You've probably heard
the old adage: red sky

at night, sailors delight,

red sky in the morning,
sailors take warning.

But did you know that red
rain has long been seen

as a bad omen?

And if this next story
is any indication,

Texas may wanna watch out.

June 3rd, 2019,
Lamy, New Mexico.

An amateur scientist
documenting a nasty storm

over West Texas captures
this stunning photo

on a DSLR camera.

The image shows a sky
exploding with red.

Meanwhile, over 100 miles
away at Langmuir Labs,

Dr. Matthew McHarg captures

this stunning video using state

of the art high speed cameras.

You'll see balls of
light and they start

by descending and then
some of them start going up

and then they go crazy

and they start moving
all around the screen...

MJ Benias
says that some wonder

if these strange red
lights seen showering

the night sky could be related

to a historical legend known
as red rain or blood rain.

We see multiple cultures

and multiple religions
associate this idea of red rain

or blood rain with the end
of the world, the apocalypse.

According to records
across the centuries,

red rain has preceded
deaths of kings,

large scale invasions
and even disease.

In Germany, a shower of
blood was believed to be

a portent for the arrival
of the Black Death in 1346,

which ultimately claimed
the lives of millions.

[MJ} There's a lot of
accounts from that era

of bloody rain or rain that
was red falling from the sky.

It wasn't until
the 17th century

that scientists first
attempted to explain red rain.

Animal causes were
the earliest theory.

Later, scientists suggested
volcanic ash and dust dispersal.

What sort of theories
might our experts have

about what was recorded
in the skies of West Texas?

First, Juan Hernandez
considers the ominous legend

of red rain.

It's quite possible
that the red hue

of the rain is because of
the soils in the ground.

If the soil has a red hue
to it and if it's lofted

in the air due to a dust storm,

the rain is gonna then take
that red hue and fall...

So while we can't prove

or disprove its prophetic value,

red rain is a real phenomenon.

Is that what we're seeing here?

I can confidently say
that this is not red

or blood rain because we're
not looking at any rain.

We're looking at something

that is going on
above the clouds.

Next, Matthew
Szydagis considers

whether we could be witnessing
an astronomical event like

a meteor shower.

Even when you
have a meteor shower

where you have multiple
shooting stars in the sky

at once, it is not gonna
be this many at a time.

We see way too
many streaks here,

nor are meteors known
to all be one color,

namely red in this fashion.

But Hernandez can think

of one atmospheric phenomenon
that is known to glow red.

And while it's not red
rain, it is weather related.

We had a large line

of storms moving
across West Texas.

All storms contain lightning.

Lightning is the discharge
of energy from the clouds

to the ground.

What we're looking at
here is the discharge

of energy from the
clouds towards the sky.

This is called red sprites.

When lightning
strikes the ground,

it can cause an imbalanced
charge in the clouds.

To restore balance, the clouds
release energy in the form

of red sprites.

The reason red
sprites appear red

is because of the nitrogen
in the upper portions

of the atmosphere.

You get those molecules really
excited, start vibrating,

and they release that red tint,

which we see in a
flash of an eye.

Our verdict, we're
going with Hernandez

on this one.

These are red sprites.

Given their elusive nature,
sprite is an appropriate name.

But it is also an acronym

for stratospheric
perturbations resulting

from intense thunderstorm
electrification.

So keep your eyes peeled
if you want to witness

this magnificent marvel
because if you blink,

you'll miss it.

You've heard about it
raining cats and dogs,

but what about blobs?

Our next story is probably

the weirdest weather
report you've ever seen.

August 7th, 1994.

A storm unlike any other
descends upon the small city

of Oakville, Washington.

But hold up, this is no
conventional rainstorm.

Instead of pouring
down raindrops,

something else
falls from the sky.

Oakville resident,
Sonny Barcliff,

takes these photos

of what can only be
described as blobbering.

It's not water.

The blobs appear to be comprised

of a translucent
gelatinous substance.

And in some photos, wait for it,

they're accompanied
by dead frogs.

Can it get any
stranger? Yes, it can.

Just after the blob rain,
Sonny's mother falls ill,

prompting Sonny to send
a sample of the blobs

to Dr. Dave Little.

And the lab findings
only add to the mystery.

The specimen was
like fresh gelatin.

It was handed over to
our laboratory and viewed

under a microscope.

But my laboratory was
not equipped to ascertain

the exact chemical nature.

This rain
of blobs blankets

a 20 square mile area and
falls a total of six times

over three weeks.

It falls on trees, grass,
cars, and of course, people.

Within days, people were
reporting vomiting and nausea,

disorientation,
trouble thinking.

It was almost like
they had the flu,

but symptoms persisted
for two to three months.

And animals like cats and
dogs that came into contact

with the goo ended up
getting sick and dying.

But further lab tests

of the blobs do reveal a clue.

They found that the
blobs contained cells

with nuclei, saying that
they were biological material

and found two very
harmful types of bacteria.

One is a food spoiler
and the other is found

in the human gut.

So what
could have caused such

an inexplicable form
of precipitation?

The Bible talks a
lot about rains and storms.

Sometimes it's a prophecy

bringing something
deeply negative.

One Bible verse in
particular, Ezekiel 38:22,

talks about a plague of blood
by torrents of rain and hail.

Another theory
goes that this may have been

the doing of a
more earthly power.

Some thought that
weather over the ocean

had somehow stirred up enough
living beings like jellyfish

that were shot out of
the water and sucked up

into clouds where

they were able to rain
back down on residents.

But no one's been able
to figure out exactly

what happened in Oakville.

Prior to the blob storm,
Oakville residents noticed

that there were
military aircraft

in their skies almost daily.

Many began to wonder if the
U.S. government had anything

to do with what happened.

The Air Force denied
knowledge of the incident,

so the townspeople had to
explore other explanations.

Our experts are here to help.

Oakville is not that
far from the ocean.

Maybe a waterspout could
have picked up some material

from the ocean and deposited
it as precipitation.

Waterspouts are
tornado-like vortices

that occur over bodies of water.

In theory, they can bring sea
life like jellyfish ashore,

but the evidence doesn't
harmonize with that theory.

I don't believe
anyone found any pieces

of jellyfish, and
that wouldn't explain

why the particular cells
and bacteria were found

in the blobs.

Okay, now
for a grosser theory,

and it may explain the human
gut bacteria that was found

in the blobs.

Could it be from an
airplane restroom?

Don't think it hasn't happened.

As recently as 2021,

a man standing in his
garden in Windsor, England,

was accidentally
splattered in human waste

as an airplane approached
Heathrow Airport.

But in Oakville, the
evidence doesn't line up

with that theory.

The FAA has
strenuously denied

that we had human waste

that had been dropped
from airplanes.

Furthermore, airlines
will have the bluish tint

to the fluid used
in the waste system.

Blue dye
is routinely added

to airplane toilets
as a disinfectant,

but no blue was seen
in the Oakville blobs.

We saw white
in the photos,

so not only would it have
been unethical, illegal,

it's the wrong color...

So could this
be a weather phenomenon?

Not exactly, according
to Juan Hernandez,

but he thinks it's related.

Before there was
any research done

on this substance, this was
actually called star jelly.

When any animal eats the
spawn of a toad or a frog,

there's always some sort
of jelly that is attached

to those eggs.

The next part of
the puzzle is moisture.

When enough rainfall combines
with the jelly attached

to the eggs, it expands.

There was about a
quarter of an inch of rain

in this specific location.

A quarter of an inch of rain
should be enough to allow

for the jelly to expand.

So the theory is

that animals ate frog
eggs, vomited them up,

and then the rain expanded them.

Though that would explain the
frogs, Szydagis isn't sold.

We have numerous
witnesses,

including credible witnesses
like police officers

from Oakville, saying
that this rained down

from the sky, hitting
their windshields.

And Szydagis also notes

that frogs don't explain
the human connection found

in the samples.

I would also like to
know how animals managed

to swallow human gut bacteria.

And if that was the case,

how do you get so
many animals sick

at the same time, multiple
times in the same area?

Our verdict?

Unidentified
living substance.

We explore theories like
jellyfish, star jelly,

and airplane waste, but
that doesn't explain

what eyewitnesses saw coming
directly out of the sky.

Many religions share a belief

in doomsday prophecies that
describe the end of the world.

Until now, the most
terrifying images

of these end times have appeared
only in our imaginations.

But could a recent incident
in the Holy Land be seen

as an omen, heralding
the Day of Judgment?

It's September 2021 near
the shores of the Dead Sea

in Ghor al-Haditha, Jordan.

When scientists get wind

of a positively biblical
event taking place,

they head to the
site to check it out.

There they film a scene
straight out of a horror film.

The water in a small pool
by the side of the Dead Sea

has turned blood red overnight.

The Dead Sea and other nearby
pools are still deep blue,

but this one spot is
unmistakably crimson.

Eric Grundhauser
says the location

of this event naturally brings
up biblical connotations.

The site sits on what
is believed by some

to be the location of
ancient Sodom and Gomorrah,

famously destroyed by God
for their sin and iniquity.

This could be a signal
of a modern plague

that we are being punished
for our modern sinfulness.

Michael O'Neill
says it harkens back

to the Book of Exodus
when God unleashed plagues

to punish Egypt for
enslaving the Israelites.

It's one of the first
of 10 plagues God commands

Aaron to stick his
staff in the water.

And when he does so,
it turns to blood.

All the fish die.

The Egyptians are unable to
drink from that water or any

of the nearby springs.

Several books
of the Bible prophesy

that the moon will turn into
blood at the end of days.

As a result, some
believe it's a bad omen

to have four consecutive
total lunar eclipses

where the moon briefly
turns a reddish hue,

what is known as a blood moon.

So is this red pool also a sign?

It's no secret that
the Dead Sea is one

of the world's saltiest
bodies of water,

and the area around it is famed
for its geological oddities.

So is this an act of God, a
unique natural phenomenon,

or perhaps some
combination of the two?

O'Neill first investigates

if it could be
divine retribution.

In 1981, in those
Marian Apparitions

in Kibeho, Rwanda that were
approved by the Vatican

as being authentic.

Several children saw
visions of the Virgin Mary

and they saw rivers of blood
that were a foreshadowing

of the Rwanda genocide.

In this case,

they tested the water
and it's not blood.

But a similar recent incident
at the Alexander River

in nearby Israel was the
blood of animals dumped

from a local slaughterhouse.

So could illegal waste
disposal, just not blood,

also be to blame
at the Dead Sea?

Typically, that would
be in a moving body

of water that can
flush away pollutants

or in a larger body
of water like the sea.

This is a really
isolated pool of water.

Then if it's
not human dumping.

Dr. Ed Barnhart considers

that the reddish hue
could be plant-based.

There's a lot of
salt content here.

That is an environment

in which a particular kind of

red algae can really thrive.

So when the water
becomes more salty,

the sort of things that
eat the algae die off

and only the algae
can proliferate.

And that turns the water red.

But Conger is
somewhat skeptical that algae

is the answer in this case,

since this is the only
red pool in the area.

If this is actually
an algal bloom,

we would probably expect
to see this happening

in other bodies of
water around it.

But we're just not.

So I don't think that's
what's happening here.

So if it's
not animal or plant,

could it be mineral?

Geologist Dr. Bob Anderson says

a natural occurring element
is likely the cause.

From the scientists
who have done soil

and water samples in that area,

they're seeing higher
concentrations of manganese.

Most likely in the form
of manganese oxide.

Manganese oxide would
act very similar

to iron oxides, causing
this water to turn red.

Manganese is usually

a brown-black substance,
but in some rare cases,

manganese oxide can take

on the same rusty orange-red
color as iron oxide.

That seems to solve
this mystery.

Our verdict?

Manganese oxide.

Scientists say the
mineral could have entered

the stagnant pool through
fissures that allow fresh water

to bubble up from the seabed.

But does that natural
explanation mean

it's not the hand of God?

Or is the natural
world, as many believe,

just another of his
tools to communicate?

That is a matter of opinion.

We've investigated
plenty of stories

of strange flying objects.

But these aren't saucers,
orbs, or tic-tacs.

They're just regular birds.

Or are they?

It's February 2022
in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Early in the morning,

a mounted CCTV camera is rolling

on a quiet residential
street where a large flock

of yellow-headed blackbirds
is seen flying overhead

at the top of the screen.

Then suddenly, things take
a strange and deadly turn.

The security camera
catches the shocking moment

the huge black mass of birds
appears to fall like rain

from the sky to
the pavement below.

As the footage
continues to roll,

we see that many of the birds
recover and fly off safely.

But the street and
sidewalk are now littered

with nearly 100 avian corpses.

Amy Teitel says this
footage is quite surprising.

Birds are not known for
smashing into the ground.

So what exactly is happening
to make them act this way?

Though this
strange incident seems once

in a lifetime, it's not
the only time small animals

have rained from the sky.

In this video from
Virginia Beach, Virginia,

a fish is captured
falling and hitting a car.

That turned out to be the result

of a weather phenomenon
known as a water spout.

But the incident in
Mexico remains mysterious.

And all this is nothing new.

In the Book of Exodus,

God sends down a rain of
frogs on the Egyptians

because of their refusal to
free the enslaved Israelites.

But while some wonder

if these strange incidents
could be divine punishment,

others suggest they have a
more technological source.

The alleged culprit?

5G is a relatively
new technology

that we're using increasingly
for cell phone reception.

One theory is that
somehow 5G interfered

with the bird's
natural navigation.

Birds create a protein
called cryptochromes

that makes them very
sensitive to blue light

and actually helps them see
the Earth's magnetic field.

That's how birds know how
to fly south and migrate

for the winter.

So could it be
that this increase

of electromagnetic frequency
is somehow interfering

with the bird's ability to
see where they're going?

Recent research in the field

of magnetoreception indicates
that molecular fragments

in the bird's eyes enable them

to see Earth's magnetic
field lines and use

that information
to chart a course

between their breeding
and wintering grounds.

So what went wrong here?

Let's go to the experts
for a bird's eye view.

The idea that 5G signals
cause bodily harm

has been debunked, but
Dr. Floyd Hayes considers

whether some form

of electromagnetic
interference could be to blame.

There was a study
published on the effects

of electromagnetic radiation
on the magnetic compass

of European robins, and
it affected the direction

in which they oriented.

But these birds aren't really
migrating a long distance.

They're just probably
trying to find food.

And they also have
backup compasses,

migrating by the stars at
night and the sun by day.

Furthermore, we wouldn't
expect all of these birds

to fall suddenly like
we're seeing in this video.

So, if they're
not being affected

by electromagnetic
noise, could these birds

have been poisoned by a lethal
toxic cloud of pollution?

Wood burning stoves

and agrochemicals can cause
high levels of air pollution

in the region.

Juan Hernandez checks the
weather conditions to see

if this could be the cause.

If it's mountainous,

we're able to have
a thermal inversion

where we have trapped gases

or trapped smoke
near the ground.

But if we look at the video,

we don't really see much in
the way of smoke chemicals.

Likely, there was something
else that occurred.

Hayes agrees
pollution is not very likely.

If they were
exposed to some sort of a toxin,

we would see individuals
gradually becoming sick

at different times depending
on the amount of the dose

that they were exposed to.

So did these
small critters rain down

during an anomalous weather
event like a microburst?

We're able to see that it

had rained earlier,
but by the time

that the birds crashed
into the ground,

it appeared that it
had stopped raining,

ruling out the potential for
a microburst or a downburst.

So since Hernandez says

the birds weren't
blown into the ground

by a sudden downburst
of wind and rain,

Hayes believes the real
culprit is a deadly presence

we don't see on camera.

I think there
is a predatorial bird,

such as a peregrine falcon,

that rapidly dived
onto that flock

and the birds panicked
and some of them crashed

into the ground.

When a large flock
of birds form,

they call it a murmuration,

and it's generally to
either provide protection

for each other or to find food.

This is what
he's talking about.

Watch how this murmuration

of western sandpipers moves
suddenly in unison to avoid

this swooping peregrine falcon.

This is
actually normal behavior

when a predatorial bird
attacks flocks of birds.

We're not seeing the
predator up above,

but it's probably
just out of view.

We're going with Hayes here.

Our verdict is the birds
were flying in a murmuration.

So when an unknown predator
we can't identify came upon

the flock, they made
a sudden drastic dive

that was too drastic for some.

That's the downside
of flocking together.

Undoubtedly, one of the
most frightening experiences

imaginable is being caught in
the middle of an earthquake.

But what if the terror
doesn't end once it's over?

Well, we've got a video of
a strange phenomenon seen

in the aftermath of
some tremors in Mexico

that has some people wondering

if Mother Nature
just wasn't finished

or if something more
sinister was responsible.

September 7th, 2021.

A severe 7.1 magnitude
earthquake strikes Acapulco.

The tremors are so strong
they reach Mexico City,

which is 200 miles away
from the epicenter.

And unbeknownst to
evacuees who have gathered

in the streets of the capital,

something in the sky
is about to steal

the earthquake's thunder.

Wow.

Take a closer look.

See those blue flashes?

Davo Penaloza, who resides

in the Condesa neighborhood,
witnessed the eerie spectacle.

These lights start to appear.

The only thing that you
can hear at the moment

are the people shouting
because it's so scary.

Davo and his
neighbors aren't the only ones

in a state of shock.

The hashtag, apocalipsis,
Spanish for apocalypse,

begins to trend online.

And in the streets, people
feel an evil presence.

Michael O'Neill
says the connection

between earthquakes and fears
of the apocalypse is ancient.

When people see
lights and thunder

and unexplained
phenomena, they say

this is clearly apocalyptic,

perhaps hearkening back
to the Book of Revelation.

In the
Book of Revelation,

it's the Four Horsemen
of the Apocalypse

who represent evil and
disaster said to occur

before the second
coming of Jesus.

But strangely, others
point not to the work

of the Devil, but
Jesus' holy mother Mary

as a presence connected
to catastrophes.

In Zeitoun, in Egypt,
from 1968 to '71,

the Virgin Mary was said
to be visibly walking

on the rooftop of St. Mark's
Coptic Orthodox Church.

She was surrounded by
lights and glowing figures

and orbs and doves.

These were seen by Christians,
Jews, atheists, and Muslims.

And there were
earthquakes happening

in that region right
before these events,

so perhaps there's
a connection there.

When it comes to
divine intervention,

believers in Mexico City
have long looked

to the Virgin of Guadalupe
for aid in times of trouble.

She's credited with ending
calamitous events like

the flood of 1629 and
the epidemic of 1736.

In the meantime, let's see
if our experts can determine

if this footage captures
something divine, demonic,

or just natural.

So are these lights the work
of the devil or signaling

the appearance of
the Virgin Mary?

Matthew Szydagis
won't go that far,

but he does say the
video might capture

a rarely photographed phenomenon
known as earthquake lights.

One potential explanation

for earthquake lights is
that they come from friction

of the rubbing of
tectonic plates

within the Earth's
crust that may lead

to a pyroelectric effect.

The theory

is that chemical
elements travel up

through the cracks made
during an earthquake.

When they reach the atmosphere,

these ions can ionize
pockets of air,

forming plasma that emits light.

But earthquake
lights could be,

in my understanding, a
multitude of different colors.

And the only colors I see
in this video are ones

that correspond with
ordinary, boring lightning.

Lightning makes sense.

So we asked Juan
Hernandez to look

into the weather conditions
on September 7th,

the day the lights were filmed.

We actually have a
tropical depression 15,

which had developed off to
the southwest of Mexico City.

All of this moisture led

to a fairly stormy
day across the city.

We have plenty of
lightning that was reported

before the earthquake
actually developed.

But we see what appears
to be just one explosion

that illuminates the clouds.

If it were lightning,

it would likely be
occurring everywhere,

not just along the streets.

Instead, Hernandez
suggests we may be seeing

a mechanical failure
mistaken for a natural event.

Mexico City has
plenty of transformers

that could fail.

A failing transformer is
oftentimes caused by shaking

in the ground or
something that gets loose.

A lot of times these
transformers are

full of coolant.

It takes one failure
for that transformer

to quickly explode, causing
the transformer to light up

into that blue hue that
we see in this video.

But while
there were reports

of transformer explosions,

Bob Anderson says

we should still consider a
natural explanation

for what we're seeing.

When you have a
massive earthquake like

a seven, the rocks can
crack and you get all kinds

of natural gas escaping.

You see these balls of light.

And what they are is gas
escaping from the ground.

And when it comes up,

it's sort of either
static electrically

or some other mechanism
kind of ignites.

And it forms what
we call gas balls

or gas lightning kind of things.

They'll float for a while
and then they dissipate.

And if this happens,

the flickering that results
will look very similar

to heat lightning, which is
cloud to ground lightning

that occurs from a distance.

Lightning is
basically from a storm

where the charge comes down
and the lightning comes

from the ground to the surface.

If you think about it,

the gas itself is
rising from the ground.

So it would give the effect
that it could have been

a lightning and sometimes
both of those can be confused

with one another.

Our verdict?
Unexplained phenomenon.

When our experts
disagree like this,

we can't come to a
definitive conclusion,

though I like
Anderson's gas theory.

And for those who
believe the natural world

is ultimately governed by
divine or devilish forces,

we're in no position
to say otherwise.

Some of our best videos
aren't really that visual.

They're recordings of strange
sounds that defy explanation.

And this one will leave
your head ringing.

January 2017.

Dillon Dickerson is taking
out the trash from his home

in Lewisburg, North Carolina,

when a loud noise startles him.

He grabs a smartphone
and records this.

The video shows
Dillon's backyard.

Nothing special, except

for that consistent
blaring sound piercing

the suburban quiet.

It sounds like
the source must be nearby,

but there's nothing in sight.

We reached
out to Dillon,

who says the sound was
very real and very scary.

It sent chills down my spine.

I felt very in shock.

I didn't really know
what to think.

Dillon says he
later searched for the source

of the sound, but
never found it.

And after he posted
the video online...

People came up with
so many theories like

it's apocalyptic signs
or machinery or factories

in the background.

The apocalyptic
theory Dillon mentions comes

from the Bible,
according to professor

of religious studies,
Diana Pasulka.

According to the
Revelation of John

in the Bible, the
Book of Revelations,

the apocalypse or the end
times are going to be heralded

by these trumpets, the
trumpets of Revelation.

Alexis Brooks
suggests another theory.

What if the sound is
part of a secret program?

The US government

has previously used high
frequency pulses to study

the Earth's upper atmosphere,

but many believe these
sounds can be used

to cause floods and hurricanes.

Others say they can down planes
and cause chronic fatigue.

Some people feel that
advanced technology

is being used

to puncture and literally
shift the ionosphere.

Some feel that the weather
is being controlled

and perhaps used for
nefarious purposes.

So here's an interesting fact.

The Air Force actually
did try to manipulate

the weather during
the Vietnam War

through a secret
cloud seeding program

called Operation Popeye.

So what's the source
of this strange sound?

A government experiment?

The supernatural?

Or something else entirely?

We sent the video to our audio
expert, Dr. Ben Gottesman,

who created a spectrogram
to visualize the sound.

As you can see,

there's like seven major
episodes where they flare up.

First question, could

this have been some
kind of weather

or atmospheric phenomenon?

There's a whole spectrum
of different types

of thunder from loud
bangs to low rumbles.

But listen to
thunder...

Compared to Dillon's noise.

It doesn't sound like a match.

Thunder really
doesn't produce

these sorts of harmonics.

It's much more of a
lower cacophonous rumble.

Gottesman believes
the most likely source

is something mechanical.

When the
brakes of semi trucks go bad,

they can sometimes
produce this long,

drawn out screeching sound
similar to what we hear

on this recording.

Gottesman
compared Dillon's sounds

with some squeaky brakes.

So that's the truck brake.

Most of the energy,
the strongest is

at like 260 hertz.

And here,

it's also the strongest is
around 260, right here.

It's good evidence that
it's some mechanical sound

because there are certain
shared characteristics.

The harmonics, the
tonal structure.

While Gottesman
sees similarities,

there's something that
still doesn't add up.

These were
really ominous

and strange sounding.

So I wouldn't expect one truck
to produce what was recorded.

The sound from Dillon's
yard seems to be

from multiple vehicles
layered together.

So is it proof or not?

Dillon swears the video
hasn't been doctored

and he's captured
similar sounds since.

And according to our expert,

it's not the weather and
it's likely not end times.

The truck brakes
theory is interesting,

but we can't explain the
layering or why the sound went

on so long.

This case remains a mystery.

Unidentified sound.

You may remember a
previous story we brought you

about mysterious
monoliths popping up all

over the world back in 2020.

But a lesser known monolithic
structure also appeared out

of nowhere nearly 40 years ago.

And some believe it's
spelled doom for mankind.

It's December 2021
in Elberton, Georgia.

Musician Jason Stallworth
is on a road trip

when he comes across a peculiar
site and decides to film.

I'll show you
something really cool

that maybe many of
you have never seen

before and you probably
don't even know about.

But these are the
Georgia Guidestones.

This is like for
post-apocalypse living.

The strange
structure is composed

of four granite slabs connected

by a T-shaped stone
pillar in the middle.

From above it seems to
form an X with a capstone.

The monument is over 19
feet tall and is believed

to weigh over 120 tons.

It's like Stonehenge
of Georgia here.

On each
tablet is writing

in different languages,

which Erin McCarthy says
just adds to the mystery.

There are 10
guidelines written

in eight languages, including
Chinese, Swahili, Hebrew,

English and Russian for
how to continue society

after some kind of
apocalyptic event.

It also has slot as well
as holes in the monument

that allow it to act as
an astronomical calendar.

Since the guide stones
were put up toward the end

of the Cold War,

some wonder if they were meant
as messages for the future

of humanity following
nuclear annihilation.

But McCarthy says the
cryptic writing is far

from the strangest thing
about this structure.

No one seems to know who
commissioned it or why.

The story goes that
one day in 1979,

a man named Robert C. Christian,
not his real name,

walked into the Elberton
Granite Finishing Company

with the idea for a monument.

And he said that he was
serving as a representative

for a quote, small
group of loyal Americans

who had been planning this
monument for 20 years.

RC Christian was a
pseudonym, so to this day,

no one knows who actually
commissioned the structure.

This mystery has further
fueled speculation

about its true purpose.

The guidelines on the
stones included,

"Maintain humanity under 500
million in balance with nature."

Some have actually criticized
these guidelines and said

that they are in favor
of genocide and eugenics.

And then, of course,

there was an idea that
RC Christian was actually

a representative
of a satanic group.

The monument
has been called

the Ten Commandments
of the Antichrist due

to the evident biblical
connotations in its design

without any reference to God.

There's even a theory
it was built as an altar

for human sacrifice.

So some people, including

a Georgia gubernatorial
candidate,

have even called it
an abomination

that had to come down.

It is a war
between good and evil.

Well, recently
they got their wish.

In early July, 2022

someone planted a bomb
overnight that exploded next

to the structure.

Take a look at the security cam.

It couldn't be more clear.

Here, we see the person
moving in from the left,

ducks in behind the monument,
places something down,

and then gets the
hell out of there.

Fast forward a couple
of seconds later, boom.

The structure remains
standing in this footage,

but it was so severely
damaged that the whole thing

had to be demolished.

Kathy Strain examines if this
could be a satanic altar.

I went and looked for
satanic temples constructed

in the United States,
and I found one.

It's literally Satan
sitting on a throne.

And so there's nothing
here that I see

that would remind me

of what I would
traditionally associate

with something satanic.

Dr. Ed Barnhart agrees.

Satanism generally
deals with the pentagram,

the goat is also another symbol,

but none of those
symbols are anywhere

on the Georgia Guidestones.

So could this
monument have been built

by those calling for
eugenics and racial purity?

To Strain that doesn't add up.

There are multiple
different languages

from multiple
different continents.

Why would you do that
if you were intending

to create basically
a white society?

All these guides would
all be in English.

So given
the Guidestones'

post-apocalyptic message,

could this be a relic
of the Cold War era?

The time period
in which these were built

was the 1980s, and that's
when the United States

and Russia are in this
terrible Cold War...

Mr. Gorbachev,
tear down this wall.

Fearing nuclear
annihilation from each other.

And whoever built this
built it in a motivation

that the world and humanity
were gonna have to start again.

Our verdict?

It's still unknown

who created this strange
structure and why.

It's possible the people behind
it thought humanity would

need the guidelines to rebuild
after a nuclear apocalypse.

But now we know it's unlikely

to have survived Armageddon

since a regular homemade bomb

has already reduced
it to rubble.

From red waters
near the Dead Sea

to unexplained
phenomena in the sky,

some see coincidence
while others see prophecy.

The search for answers
continue and who knows

what the next sign may reveal.
