with their limbs shattered.

Even the Misogiya clan, stewards
of the mountains for generations,

tell tales of a strange entity
with a snake-like body

massive enough to coil around a house.

For its form and pattern they called it

Yamatagi-Madara:
the speckled house-straddler.

Each family head passed down
the same warning to the next:

that it was always watching.

the eastern and western villages were
watched over by the two priestesses,

who began a new life
in this land of plenty...

for a short few years.
