Rescue

February 28, 2005

I've had the same dream For three months now

In my dream, I was a General of Qin Dynasty

The head of a mighty army

Rescuing a princess I don't recognize

Going over the top of a cliff

Hello

William, you are back in Hong Kong

You come here now

You life style is not very illustrious

How come?

Last year our research funds Were reduced by half

Not enough funding To complete our plans

I sold the house

And moved into the work room

Good place, very spacious

Why did you come back suddenly, Is America not good?

I came back to help with Your funding problem

May I?

I want you to do me a favor

Hey, William

Call me Jake

I'm Mengqi, Welcome to The 'anti-gravity' research

'Anti-gravity'?

Keep watching, It will be explaned

Let's ask the Professor to explain it

Professor

Science has pointed out that High speed spinning...

Can reduce the weight of an object

Through our research this has been proofed

This is a very very expensive experiment

Not only is it impractical...

It can't be used in biological Experiments too

Because no living creature Can withstand the speed

Thank you, Mengqi

You're welcome

Hey, you study physics And I study archeology

What has this got to do with me?

I want to find the point in All mysterious phenomena

Remember that article of yours?

There was a small country across Desar's border 6000 years ago

And the emperor becomes Immortal after dying

His coffin's floating in the air

That article has inspired me

It's just a myth, I have the comics for you

Before we get any scientific proof...

A lot of things were 'myths'

Hey, Jake! Jake!

50 years ago the mobile phone was a myth

So was the airplane So was going to the moon

Even computers And digital technology...

.. were just myths 20-30 years ago

Do you know how many people... Are dying to research this technology?

If I succeed... I'll change the history

Our lives in the future The transportation system...

Flying in the air, even the intergalactical Migration in the future

Are all closely connected To this research

I know you've always wanted To do great things

Nobody has ever entered This tomb before

Archeology is my work, But I have my principles

I only do research Unlike some people I know...

Tomb raiders

It's been quite a while But you still can't forget that matter

Some things are remembered forever

Been quite a while Since we last played

Let see if you have improved

Jake!

Don't you play a lot in your spare time?

Yes, but I haven't tried To do it from this angle

So why did you shoot it?

Who asked you to give me the ball?

Come

Is that girl Mengqi your girlfriend?

No, She's a representative Of my sponsor

What about your Hai Lin?

Hai Lin? Forget it

I dreamed of an ancient princess a lot

Her name is Yu Su

I called her name everytime I dreamed of her

You tell me, What will Hai Lin think?

Let's change the subject

Jake, you're not a stickler for rules

You've always believed in Your instinct

You discovered that that scroll Is a fake...

By your instinct

Jake

Jake, your instinct didn't tell you?

I only want to prove that This is a fact...

And not a myth

You and I are best friends

I believe you will not let me take risks

Have you tried to do it In this position?

Jake

What now? I think I have a heat stroke

We're almost there - Don't fool me

I've asked you to exercise more

I do, I play golf for 3 hours a day...

And tennis for 2 hours

If you continue playing hours Of video games daily

You'll go blind

How about carrying me On your back?

Walk by yourself

Jake, That guy can fly?

Yeah, come with me

He really can fly

Don't kneel here

Go up there

Quick, help me

Grab my foot

Your legs are so strong

Let it go

This temple is very nice

There must be a lot of hidden stories

I couldn't get in the last time

Jake

It's floating in the air

Record it

To get the proof, I know

Jake, Look!

There's a floating sword too

I see that

I think the words on the bottom of the coffin...

...is about his life

An embassy to Qin

The prince went to Qin With jewelry and beauties

The Qin Emperor let him choose From his concubines...

...and he picked the Qin Emperor's Favourite concubine

The Emperor broke his promise

...and got an artist to draw the concubine

...and gave him a gemstone as replacement

The prince contended with The bravest Qin warrior...

...and exchanged swords

Don't...

What?

Jake

You OK?

What did you do?

I've never seen such a stone before

I want to take it back for research

But we agreed not to take away anything

I'll put it back when I'm finished

You nearly get us killed

Why did the coffin fall...

...when I took away the stone?

The emperor assigned me

To draw the imperial concubine smile for the Indian Prince

Concubine Li does not smile How am I going to draw her portrait?

I haven't seen her smile before since she came to the palace

General Moong has arrived

Amazing, this is the smile, This is the smile

Jake!

Stop dreaming now

I heard some people come in

Help me, Get me up

Why don't you call them for help

Down! Down!

Who are you? [Speaking In Malayalam]

Why did you come here and destroy our place of worship?

What did you gain out of it?

We came here looking for an explanation

That is why we removed the ore

It was a mistake

Forgive us

Are you all right?

I was just saying sorry

How did I know that? I only wanted to save you

Lets get out of here

We agreed not to take away anything

For self protection

Let's go Jack

I took that portrait for you

What?

Lets go

Catch them!

Come on

Get up, lets go

It's them, catch them

Jake, people say you are reliable

You go first

Jake

Quick! Throw stones!

Jake

It is too dangerous to hang around

We need to leave immediately, Get him in quickly

Jake

This is not good, we are hit, We must leave now

Jake, Jake

Jake

Catch him

I'm okay

Concubine Li

Concubine Li, Forgive me for not protecting you well

Stop!

Put down your sword Or else I'll kill her

Do not put your sword down

If only one person could live I hope it's you

Put your sword down!

General!

General Moong Yi!

Don't help me up We're of different ranks

Why did you risk your life to save me?

Once a sword is done it must kill enemies

Like the sword, I'm destined to fight for the Emperor

To die for my country

You're Concubine Li of the Qin Dynasty it's my mission to protect you

Forgive me that you were threatened just now

I have you beside me, I'm not scared of anything

We'd better get out of here

That's enough, Letchmi

Alright Letchmi, be good

Letchmi, where are you going?

It's a man, Letchmi save him

Hurry, Letchmi!

Be careful, place him slowly

How do you feel?

Much better, thank you

How did I get here?

You lost consciousness...

...and the river carried you here

Then my...

Sword? Come with me

Where is this place?

This is the origin of Desar's kungfu

Its 3000 years old

My uncle is the 275th descendant

That is my uncle

I hear you became the news in Desar?

I'm very sorry I've created a lot of problems here

You destroyed the coffin of Desar's Emperor

And broke the superstition that the Desar people held for 2000 years

For thousands of years the people of Desar...

Didn't know how to be tranquil

They only knew...

Praying to those flying monks

At least they have learnt something today

To be tranquil is not just...

Looking at the sky...

But to bow and...

...be humble and honest

Young man, I know why you came

This is not a common sword

Is it yours?

Gull Dan!

This is not my sword

I also didn't come here to fight I came for answers

Then fight for your answers

Young man...

The answer's already in your heart

The sword and you can become one

This must be due to your previous life

Master, You think people really have a previous life?

What's previous life? What's life in the present?

What's illusion? What's reality?

I always dreamed of...

An ancient general and princess

What's all that got to do with me?

I don't know if it's a dream or reality

But I saw the princess's portrait on the coffin yesterday

This was my first time to see something that was only in my dream

Master, I am so confused now

Although a dream is mysterious

It can relate to the real world

On the one hand, dreams come from one's imagination

On the one hand, one remembers it In the real world

Therefore the dream world can only be imaginary

If you keep dreaming the same thing

I think...

There is a possibility

It's from your past memory

Memory?

What should I do? Who is he?

What did he want to tell me?

Only you can find him

Moong Yi

General Moong Yi

Come in, General Moong Yi

Moong Yi!

General Moong Yi!

Moong Yi, you promised to protect me, Don't die!

Moong Yi!

Moong Yi!

In this world, I've lost everything

I have no family

Please don't leave me

I've lost everything I only have you

I beg you, Please don't leave me

General Moong Yi!

Come here quickly

This is the first time I feel so free

There's no need for courtly behaviour

It's so comforting

This is the first time I saw you smile

Why can't you look at me?

I do not dare

Don't talk like that You'll just ruin that feeling

From now on I will not call you General

Alright, Moong Yi?

I'd like to dance, Shall I dance for you?

Concubine Li, Please don't!

Only the Emperor can see you dance

I only want to dance this song for you

Have a drink, Concubine Li

We've reached the Great Wall

This is all Qin territory

We'll reach Xian Yang once we cross the mountain

Concubine Li, you're now safe

I can achieve my mission after all

No, I don't want to go to Xian Yang

Take me away, anywhere

As long as I'm with you, I don't want to marry Qin Emperor

Why do we have to live like this?

Only to find ourselves the slaves of destiny?

When can we be free?

On the day we die?

Concubine Li...

Please be calm!

Don't forget your mission

You must live for your people

Living brings hopes

Promise me you'll live

It's so painful to live

Alright

I promise

I'll live for you

Jake

Jake, the police are looking for you

What?

That's him!

I'll get you out of here Come with me!

This way, follow me

Quick, throw that away!

Lets go!

This way!

Why did you help them?

You led them into the tomb?

Stop! Don't move!

Wow!

Wow, what?

I meant, you fought well

Run quick!

Don't jump!

What did you say?

Nothing

What are you doing?

Helping you!

Jake!

Jake, help me!

Jake, Pull me up!

Take this

Run!

Wait a sec!

What?

Sorry

Let's go

Follow this river for two days

...and you'll reach the Chinese border

Thank you for all the help

Will I see you again?

I'll definitely come back to see you, and your uncle

Take care

I am really floating

We've used mass spectrometry

Even bombarded its atoms with numerous materials

But it's unbelievable

It's spectrum does not even come close to any material we've known on earth

Including the Ecaros spectrum

This apparatus flew away from the solar system ..

This is its last transmission just before it's disintegrated

So good

But if the emission of the mysterious stone is blocked...

It won't be effective anymore

Meng Qi, don't!

Jake

Our research worked

Shit

What? Did you say a meteorite?

...and it's not from our solar system?

True, but more importantly

We have to find where the other meteorites are

By the way, the picture from the coffin

It's with me here

I'm going to Xi'an now, Meet me there

Do not forget the picture

Okay

That's all, bye

Can I go with you?

According to my initial analysis...

He used the metallurgy from the Era of the Warring States to early Qin Dynasty

And the coagulated material on it...

Can only be found in Qing artefacts

Look at its shape and trappings

It seems to be a Qing general's sword

It must be a national treasure

Come... careful, Alright

What are you doing? This is our sword

Jack has given it to our museum for custody

But this expedition is funded by our foundation

Its findings should belong to the Foundation

You can't give the sword to the museum

That is a national treasure

It belongs to mankind

We should return it to the owner through the museum

Besides, this anti-gravity research

Has got nothing to do with those two artifacts

Before I come to any conclusion with my experiments...

Every link is possibly a key

How can you make such rash judgement?

My experiments are for the benefits of mankind

Artifacts are dead stuff

with no life and no future

But science cares for the future

OK, then these two artifacts

...are dead stuff from 2000 years ago

Why do you mind so much?

We risked our lives to get that sword

Mine

Okay, say we found the meteorites

You meant to send it back too?

Yeah

If it belongs to other people then we must give it back

Nobody should grab things from another country...

And put it in his own country's museum

His intention is to keep it

That's disgusting

What now?

What else can I do?

William!

Do you want to see the sponsor who has been helping you in the past years?

Of course, but he doesn't want to see me

I'll bring you to see him now

Now?

Come with me

I'll pass these two artifacts back to Desar

Thank you

It's you? Professor Gu

I've stopped being a professor for many years

Mr. Gu, you're the one who's been helping me in the past years?

Yeah

I've admired you even before you graduated

Qi, I want to cancel the foundation's cooperation

I'm not gonna let you

...rob the grave for your own benefit

You and Jake are studying this emperor

What difference does it make? Who robs the grave?

I have been on many digs for treasure for whole life

But I dig for pure treasure

So do you, and Jack too

You don't hate him?

I don't hate him

Even though he's hurt me deeply

What do you want me to do?

Stay with Jack

Follow him, Inspire him

He'll make you the greatest scientist on earth

Isn't that your lifelong dream?

36 years before the politician, Defender of the heart

A star fell in the east of the country, The stone resides there

The sword has the engraved curse toward the Qing Emperor

The Emperor killed everyone around here

So that nobody would know about the secret meteor

Look, General Nan Gong is back

Make way!

General to report quickly

How's my dad?

What's happened to His Majesty?

General Nan Gong has returned to the camp, He has an urgent military situation report

Speak Quickly, what happened to His Majesty?

His Majesty...

General, The Longevity pill is done

General Xu Gui is escorting the Pill

but on his way, he is Surrounded by rebels

Summon the troops

Yes sir!

The fastest horse!

Yes sir!

The news has leaked, You must be punished nine generations

Old Siew dare not...

Pass my word to the Prime Minister...

I don't know anything I'll divulge nothing

I don't know anything

The people around my dad might leak secrets

Only dead man tells no secret

The longevity pill was done but on its way back here...

It was blocked by the rebels

I'd like to bring it back

General Moong, you have other mission You shouldn't leave

But it's urgent

Your Majesty should decree

The emperor has given direction General quickly to bring back the Pill

Don't mess up

General Moong, for this trip...

His Majesty does not have a big entourage

If you lead a big troop to go and get the pill...

I'm worried His Majesty's safety might be compromised

If so, I'll only bring my own battalion

I won't divulge anything

His Majesty needs me to take care of him

Please let me try once more

General Moong Yi

Take care, Concubine Li

You must come back

If the Emperor's life is secure So will the life of Concubine Li

Our oath are forever

I'll wait for you to come back

Soldiers, Listen!

Those with old folks at home come forward!

Those with single child come forward!

Those with a wife come forward!

Those who come forward defend the place The rest on your horse now!

General

We have been through together for so many years...

Why can't we do the same now?

I'll follow you General!

We'll follow General Moong!

I've come to take the pill as per order of the Prime Minister

You dare to disobey me?

I can only give the pill to General Moong

Shu Que cannot give it to any other person

The prime minister also represents The emperor

You dare to defy the emperor? It will result in your deaths

Prepare to attack

Prepare to attack

Defending Position

Archers, Be ready!

Shoot!

Attact!

General Zhao! By order of Shi Huang Ti Let them go

You dare to give false decree!

General...

Kill them all!

General Zhou, General Moong has order from Shi Huang ti

You should not disobey the Emperor's decree

You dare to disobey? Kill him

Rear soldiers, without my commad, Nobody moves from their positions

Kill them!

Xu Gui

Come on!

General Moong!

Meng Jie

The prime minister must be plotting To murder the general

Behind our army is the only escape route

General, we haven't enough time left

You go with Meng Jie, I'll take up defence

Go!

Chase them!

Make way!

Make way, make way!

Give me a bow!

Make way, everybody make way!

Make way!

Go, go quickly

Go!

Black Mountain!

Archers, prepare!

Shoot!

Shoot!

General!

Protect the pill!

General

You must bring the pill to the Emperor

Protect Concubine Li

Take care, General

Let's go

Take care, Black Mountain

Jake

I'm sorry, you're right

We should give back the two artifacts

I've made something personally It's for you, hope you'll like it

Thanks

I've looked up the data around Xi An for you

You told me before

You dreamed of waterfalls and tunnels

I hope this might be useful to you

This waterfall, How far away is it from Li Mountain?

About 200 km

The soundings I am taking through the massive curtains of water

Display holes leading to a very large cavern

After a heavy downpour he never came out

Thanks!

Jake, there's a hole behind the waterfall

There's a big space inside the hole

That's right, about some 10 years ago...

Behind the waterfall is a big hole

This place was hit by drought

Hence the water stopped

The hole behind it was exposed

A brave fellow crawled inside

What do you intend to do?

I want to go inside

But how?

Just break into the waterfall

Are you crazy? It's too dangerous

Besides, you don't know if your dream is real?

It's True that I don't know if it's real or not

I also don't know what it's got to do with me

But I felt her love

You are saying, If you can't solve it...

You won't be happy for the rest of your life

It really is the place

This water brings every good thing

Jack, only you can

...lead me to here

William, do you receive?

Jake, I receive, I am looking right at you

As soon as I get in I will contact you

Only If I...

Not if!

I'll wait for your news

See ya

Don't worry

I see the courage and wisdom, He is so like you

Jake.

Jake, please answer!

Jake.

Are you Okay?

My ass... hurts like shit

William, I see a man-made hole

Is it the same as that in the drawing?

Let me check it out I'll contact you later

Get ready to roll

Rolling

Moong Yi...

You've finally come back

I'm your Yu Su, My waiting has been answered

Yu Su

Is that really you?

You're really waiting for me?

Am I dreaming?

I promised to live for you and I've succeeded

You didn't lie to me You've really come back

Jake!

Thank you, Jake

Without you even after 1000 years

This secret will still remain a secret

This place is exactly the same as what Jack mentioned

I really can't use science to prove this

In this world There are a lot of things

That cannot be explained by science

This cave although insulated

Its quite airy

...but found a tunnel here about 100 miles long

And arrived here

How clever

A good way to divert attention

But the Huangling entry... Where the hell is it?

Our Heaven, we may fly here

Moong yi, come here!

Moong yi, you must try to swim

Do not fear

Princess! Be careful!

General Baimu, stop!

He's Moong yi

Impossible

He can't be General moong yi

General Moong is agreat master in kungfu How can he be General Moong?

He really is the General

I'm not mistaken

Are you really General moong?

How are you, sir?

General, I've been protecting Concubine Li...

As per your instruction

Mr. Gu

Mr. Gu, you're good

You've found the secret

Our mass gives motion

If we lose momentum

We'll drift here

Hold my hand

After we separated I escorted your pill back here

The Emperor was barely alive then

May Zhao Gao think the Pill is difficult to distinguish from the false

Therefore, He dare not try it

So he asked me to try it

His Majesty said that it's our luck... To be able to try out the pill

Those who wanted to live did not

Those who wanted to die did not

General, after I left the other day

What happened after that?

That day, after I passed the pill to you...

Take care, Black mountain

Together we can kill our enemies

That's my biggest honour

My time is up

Stop!

Kill

Kill

Surrender General

Surrender General

It can't be, it can't be!

I don't believe it

If our General died in battle, Then who are you?

I am

All is as I anticipated

After he died and ascended to heaven, The gifted General protects all day long

I've found you

Unbelievable

They made use of stones and created this world

General, did you bring those guys?

No, I did not

Wait for me here

Be careful!

Who dares to trespass?

Qin... Qin people, Longevity!

Jake, you are all right?

William, you've lied to me since the beginning

You've been working for him all along

Jake, I've already told you

Greed is human nature

Need for knowledge is also an impetus

I only make use of William's greed

And also your need for knowledge

I succeeded

When you snitched me to the authority...

I told myself...

One day, there'll be payback time for you

Jake, I only want to take something back for my research

You know my discovery will benefit mankind

I'll become the greatest scientise in this century

Nobody can take away the things here

This place belongs to history

It should be buried underground

Without you...

Even if I spent all my time...

I'd never be able to this charade

Professor!

Robber!

You dare to steal Huangling...

General Baimu, Watch out!

Don't shoot, I want him alive

Protect Yu Su

Where's the longevity pill?

Tell me?

Stop!

General Baimu

Pull! Pull me in, quick!

Quick! Pulls me in, quick!

Nangongs Generals

Go!

Extend your hand, quick!

Grab my leg, quick!

My leg!

Pull, hold on!

Qin general, you're good

Where's the longevity pill?

Where's Shi huang Ti's coffin?

Must be in heaven

Take me there

Stop!

Don't even dream of stealing anything

You can't take her away

You have to show me what you've got

Don't worry, I won't let anybody hurt you

Jake, Help me!

Jake!

Yu Su, I'll get you out of here

Go!

Jake!

William!

Jake!

Hold onto me!

I did it for the research, I'm not a tomb raider

If you manage to get out of here

Please finish my work for me

Jake

Are we still friends?

Jake

You're not Moong?

I am not

It doesn't matter if I'm Moong or not

What's important is we must get out of here

You're not Moong Yi I don't want to leave

I want to wait for Moong Yi

Quick, we're too late

No! He didn't die I want to wait for him

Yu Su!

I will finally achieve longevity

6 month later...
