and move it to his own

but, for the last 3 weeks,
he's made zero progress.

to a grinding halt.

Tony has removed everything
he can with his 20-ton crane.

That's really good.

I was thinking this year was
gonna be a total disaster.

To finish the job, he needed
to upgrade to his 50-ton crane,

but it was stranded in Dawson

ever since his barge
was damaged.

Great news, Tony.
I'm really glad it's here.

Tony shelled out $30,000
to have it shipped to thistle

on the only other barge
on this stretch of the Yukon.

Now we can finally
actually do something.

The rear gantry is 8,000

It's very simple because
all I have to do

is lift it up a little bit

Tony's trusted rigger,

which is unreal,

and, if he keeps up
what he's doing right now,

big red will hit 2,500 ounces
like he promised,

and we'll get there.

To hit their
5,000-ounce goal,

Rick and Parker
both pledged

to produce 2,500 ounces.

This part of the cut
has been great.

I mean, we've been
putting out

great **** numbers here
at the end of the season.

But Rick is still
345 ounces short,

and he's running
out of thawed pay.

We're gonna scrape

Monster Red and abandoned
the Jewelry Box cut.

just petering out on us,

so I made the decision.

Now the only ground
he has to mine

is at Fairplay.

We got a month left,
and we're gonna circle

the wagons around
these two plants.

Morning.

Freddy has been
running Rusty Red

for the last 5 weeks.

Rock Conveyor.

Sand screw.

Winter is coming.

We're running out of time
before stuff freezes.

Rusty red runs
at a steady 200 yards an hour.

The plant has been
running pretty decent.

Let's just hope
it continues that way.

Up the hill at Holy Roller,

Hunter finally has
their new trommel

dialed in,
the fourth Wash Plant

of the Hoffmans'
Roller-Coaster season.

I'm excited about it.
I'm ready to get gold.

Plant is on.

Feeder is cranked up
to full speed,

so I feel really
good right now.

Okay.
Here we go.

This late in the season,
you know,

if this doesn't pay out for us,

we're gonna be in trouble.

It's really freaking noisy.

This trommel is louder
than a dryer with rocks

in it... multiplied by 1,000.

The big rocks
in the golden gulch pay dirt

are hitting the steel
drum of the trommel.

Problems with neighbors
and regulations have shut

Todd down several times
this season.

He can't afford another setback,
which could cost him

tens of thousands of dollars.

Just because we have
so many neighbors

so close, and this valley
is like an amplifier.

I mean, it carries like crazy.

The closest houses
are just 400 feet

from Holy Roller,

and Colorado restricts noise

in residential zones
to 80 decibels.

We've had plenty of problems
this season with neighbors.

We don't need this
to be another,

so I'm just taking noise samples

at various points
on the property

to make sure we're
not out of compliance.

We're pretty dang high.

We're at 78 point whatever,
and the limit is 80,

so we're still legal,
but we're pushing the limit.

At the start of the season,

Todd's crew was threatened
by a neighbor.

Did he say he's
gonna shoot you?

He said I could get shot..

A week later,
the threat escalated.

Dude, somebody just shot
at us out on the road.

Somebody pulled out a gun
and just started shooting at us.

Everybody out.
Everybody off the mine.

What's the verdict?

Not good.

We're borderline, man.

We're still legal,
but we're right on the edge.

I don't think we should run
until we fix that, though.

of his Wash Plants

from 20% to 25%.

in his mining career.

It sucks to not be sluicing,

but the good thing that's
gonna come out of it here

is that we're coming down
to ken and stuart's ground.

It's a big chunk of ground,
so I really think that we'll get

big red down here
and start sluicing again.

4 miles west
of Parker's operation,

Tony is mining with Kevin's
Dredge and Monica's Wash Plant.

Just south is the ground
that Parker is leasing from Ken,

and he's starting a cut
right beside Tony's operation.

There's only one problem.

Parker has to cross Tony's
claim to get to his new land.

It's the only road there is,

and he built this camp
straddling the road,

so here we are.

My guts are torn
the **** up.

I'm just stressed out.

At the start of the season,

Tony found Parker
prospecting Ken's land.

I'm just trying to have
a good long-term place.

The Beets are pretty
unpredictable,

and you never really know
what to expect

when you're dealing with them.

Like, some days
they're your best friend,

and then some days
they'll scream and shout

at you all day long.

That dozer is heavy, and we're
tearing up all the roads,

so stay rolling.

If I get punched out, I'd like

Parker and Ken have
crossed Tony's land

and arrived
on Parker's new claim.
