There was just nothing to
explain it, nothing. It was

just very, very scary. You are
about to see real people. This

is not normal. Reliving
horrifying, paranormal

encounters for the first time.
She said, you know, when I die,

I'm going to haunt you. When
family members pass away and

return to haunt the living.
That's the first time I'd ever

seen anything and it is
terrifying. I'm sorry.

I buried this for nearly 30
years. Be prepared to be

afraid.

Paranormal Survivor two story
number 17 take one.

Anita Spiro and her family
moved into their new house in

Oswego two thousand six.
Immediately, her daughter began

making new friends.

When we moved in there, my
daughter started talking about

a little boy named Billy and
then my daughter was telling me

one day, I'm talking to Billy
and he wants to know where his

mom and dad are and and he
keeps pointing at the house

across the street. At first,
Anita thought nothing of her

daughter's encounter.

So with time I got to know my
neighbors and she told me the

story about Billy. Billy was a
little boy is actually his

parents lived across the street
from us and Billy, all the kids

in the area for years catch the
bus, would catch the bus

outside our house even way back
when and he was hit by the bus.

My bus was I said, do you have
a picture of him?

Emma, when my daughter came
home, she pointed to it and

said, mom, that's Billy. Oh
yeah, he's always crossing that

street to school. He's always
out there.

I don't understand how how can
this if Anita had trouble

believing it, her doubts would
not last long.

And then I started seeing Billy
looking in our window.

I've seen little glimpses of
him and it's quite scary.

I mean, I wouldn't want to be
and this gets scary. I wouldn't

want to be alone in a small
room with him or in a closet.

The neighbors also reported
seeing Billy around Anita's

home. We've had a couple people
that come in and say, straight

out, I just saw a little boy
run into your basement.

Strange things started to
happen inside Anita's house.

When we come in, the cabinets
in the kitchen and we have kind

of a big kitchen, a lot of
cabinets. They're all open.

And then by the time you sit
down to take your shoes off and

go, what's going on? You turn
around and they're shot. All of

them and you don't hear them.
That's the crazy part. You

don't hear them.

Things just were getting weird
in our house. Anita assumed the

ghost of Billy was behind the
events in the kitchen.

But she was wrong.

Every time I would fall asleep
in my bed, I thought I was

waking up to some weird
nightmares like the house is on

fire.

But I felt like I was being
shaken awake. Like shaken

awake.

I felt like I was having the
life choked out of me at that

point.

And I'd sit up and there's
nothing there and I thought, I

must be dreaming this and this
was happening for quite a few

weeks. Anita endured the
terrifying night attacks for

over two months until she got
some unexpected news.

Yeah, I was sleeping and my
husband woke me up and said, so

and so is on the phone and your
mom died.

And I'm like oh my God. Even
though we hadn't talked in 8

years, you know, it's still
kind of shocking. Sir? I said,

well, okay. How did she die?

And I said, was it from a
cigarette and the person

actually told me, no. It was
just a house fire.

My mom was a drug addict and I
knew she fell asleep with a

cigarette and I said okay well
when's the funeral and

everything and and the person
said, whoa, it was nine weeks

ago. I was like, okay. So,
you're just calling me now.

Anita's relationship with her
mother had not been easy. She

wasn't a real nice person, at
least to me. I don't know how

she was with other people but
not to me. We had a bad falling

out the last time I talked to
her and she said, you know,

when I die, I'm going to haunt
you and she told me that I'm

going to be around you. To her
horror, Anita realized that the

night time terror she was
suffering had begun at exactly

the same time her mother died.
So I tried to sleep in my room

for a little while longer but I
just I couldn't do it anymore

and she's a very frightening
person. Um Very frightening.

I thought she was going to kill
me.

A spirit's personality does not
improve with death and if you

were an evil person in life,
you you got joy out of

victimizing people, you're
going to try to do the same

thing after death and it brings
some sort of sick perverse

satisfaction to that spirit.

But Anita would soon find it
would take a lot more than

moving to sleep on the couch to
escape her mother's wrath.

The other day I was putting my
makeup on and the lights

flicker on and off.

You can see the shadow of
something underneath our door

just standing there.

It feels like someone standing
outside the bathroom door

holding the door shut and that
time I did hear her and I mean

she cackles like a witch. It's
not like a human and I don't

know if they do that purposely
but it's very scary.

The personal attacks became
even more dangerous.

Somebody was turning on the
stove random times of the day.

So you'd hear the tick tick
tick and it would be on and

just either gas, you could
smell the gas. I think my worst

fear is that she's going to set
the house on fire. My worst

fear.

Anita Spiro had been tormented
by the spirit of her estranged

mother but in a shocking
escalation, the mother had

started to threaten Anita's
life.

The fires are random and it's
not like in a fireplace. You

know, it'll be the rug. The
rug. It'll be on fire. There'll

be a flame there. Where that
comes from. You know, I mean

and that's scary because why is
it there? How does it get

there? None of us, there's no
ignition source on my carpeting

and it's very scary I know it's
my mom doing it. My grandma

told me that she used to start
fires when she was younger. You

know, nothing major but it's
still being a fire bug and I

think it's always stuck with
her. Her goal would be to do

something to me that is fire
related because that's how she

died. She has the thing with
fire. Well, I was getting tired

of it. I couldn't do it
anymore. I couldn't take it. I

didn't know what to do. Sorry.

Anita decided to call in the
help of paranormal investigator

Dale Kasmeric and his team.

When I first met Anita, she was
not in the very best of

emotional states. She was very
distraught. And she probably

thought she was going crazy for
a bit. That kind of redy

drained upon her senses. So,
when she contacted me, she

wanted some peace.

This was by far the one of the
most interesting and unique

cases that we ever had a chance
to investigate.

We were doing an EVP session
upstairs in Anita's master

bedroom, an EVP central
electronic voice phenomenon. We

were all sitting around the
bed. We had asked a question,

did you die in a fire?

And a few seconds later,
everybody in the room heard a

what was best described as a
female cry or moan. It sounded

like so like that it was very
very audible very it was picked

up on all the digital recorders
and all the cameras in the room

follow up question said is that
you and that another response

of that same cry much lower was
then heard as well. It was my

mom. I mean, it could be no
other voice.

I mean, so strong like she was
still alive. Like, it was very

shocking, very unnerving, and
really scary. It was like, the

answer I was waiting for but
now that I have the answer,

now, I'm really scared, really
scared.

Hoping to gather evidence of
the spirit's true intentions,

Dale asked Anita to act as
bait. During some of the EDP

sessions, we actually used
Anita as a trigger object. A

trigger object is something
that we use to elicit a ghost

response. Why are you here?

What do you want? Leave me
alone. We put her in the room

on the bed and we were
recording to see if something

was interacting with her while
she was upstairs.

Anita Spiro had called in
paranormal investigators to

help her get rid of her
mother's evil spirit. We put

her in the room to see if
something was interacting with

her while she was upstairs.

And in fact we do have several
segments and clips where she

actually heard sounds in the
room of footsteps noises and

bumps right outside the door
and we were all downstairs at

that time monitoring so there
was nobody around

shocked, validated but really
shocked and if it's true that

we're in life we're the same
day in way in death you know

I'm in real trouble there was
another camera that was set up

in one of the children's rooms
this camera was in the room by

itself the door was closed
nobody was in the room at the

time now it's very common that
sometimes cameras on tripods

they come they can come loose
cameras might you know dip down

a little bit when they they
become loose

but then the camera corrected
itself back up. It went against

gravity which to me is
something a camera does not do.

So, something was actually
manipulating the camera in that

room.

One of the most interesting
things, however, happened when

we were all downstairs.

Suddenly we heard the sound of
several people running down the

hallway. And it was very
definite footsteps pattern of

feet running from the direction
of the bathroom over our head

and disappeared.

The the different pyro kinetic
activity that was seen in in in

in witness by Anita and others
in her home. I would put my

bets that most likely it was
Anita's mom that probably is

creating that activity rather
than a poultry ice because of

the way Anita's mom died.

We always try to give the
clients some advice or

recommendations of how they can
you know alleviate the

situation. One is to be very
assertive about yourself and

say that this is my home. You
don't belong here and to simply

get out.

Another thing I told her to do
was to you know you have to

take over your room. You have
to sleep there no matter what

it what happens there and not
let anything drive you out of

your bedroom. Right now we're
kind of still working at me

taking my control back of my
room. Going up there and

sleeping and not being afraid.
I haven't quite gotten there

but I I'm working on it. Um I
mean, he's very intelligent

about this stuff. I think any
advice he gives me, you know,

is worth, you know, paying
attention to. It's just getting

the courage right now because
she is scary.

And she did try it for a few
nights and then she said she

couldn't take it. She went back
downstairs. I thought

cleansing, spirit walking,
having I have priests over

anybody that you know to come
bless the house, saging. I've

thought of all that. The
problem is sometimes it doesn't

make it go away. It makes it
worse. It's the fear because I

am very afraid of her. Um So I
don't know what to do. I really

don't know what I want to do.
Petrified of provoking her

mother's spirit any further.
Anita has not attempted to

cleanse her house. Anita
continues to live in fear of

what her mother might do to
this day.

Not all family phantoms are
psychotic ghosts intent on

causing harm to their living
offspring. Sometimes the spirit

of dead relatives might just
not be ready to let go and move

on to the afterlife. But that
can bring its own problems.

Lynn's Lake House story number
twenty-seven take one

The lake house has been in our
family since about nineteen

sixteen. It belonged to my two
godmothers and Helen and Aunt

Sada. The lake house is in
LaSalle, Michigan on Lake Erie.

If you walk in, it's like going
back to the turn of the

century. Everything is exactly
the same. There's been a few

updates in the kitchen but
other than that, including the

furniture, the things that are
in the medicine cab the things

that are in the cabinets the
silverware the dishes

everything is from back then
from the 1920s so when you go

there when I mean people are in
awe when they walk in aunt

Helen was very stringent she
didn't like children growing up

like we my sister and I were
not allowed to go into the

living room anywhere into the
cottage we were only allowed to

go into the kitchen she was
just I kind of very stern. I

think she didn't like kids Anne
Holland because she didn't have

any and I think when you don't
have children, you just don't

have to much tolerance for
them. Aunt Helen passed away, I

think I was seventeen at the
time and even at seventeen, I'd

never been into the house.

When they passed away, they
left it to my mother and

father.

When we first started going in
the lake house, it's a funny

feeling. I don't know how to
explain it.

It's a real heavy, odd feeling.
You can just like feel things

around you and it's just a
creepy feeling that you know as

soon as you walk in, it's
almost like you're not wanted

there. It's almost like go
away, leave us alone.

Despite her reservations, Lynn
tried to enjoy life in the lake

house.

I spent the night. Now, this
was in the early 80s at the

lake house. The yellow room has
got a door next to the bed that

goes up into the attic and then
there's no windows in the

attic.

The entire night it started and
the door was just shaking and

then it would get harder and
harder.

Lynn Brigman had strange
feelings about the old lake

house she had inherited from
her aunt Helen. This was the

first time she had stayed
overnight. The entire night,

the door was just shaking. I
mean, I'm not kidding you. I

was terrified. All night long,
it would get loud. It would

then go softer and then I would
think, oh, it stopped. Stopped

now. Okay, it stopped and then
it would start again.

I was like a little kid hiding
under the blankets and that's

exactly what I was doing. I was
up all night with this big

light on and my head covered.
Oh, it's horrible. That's the

first time that there was solid
proof that something was not

quite right.

I didn't sleep there again for
30 years.

Lynn didn't stay away
completely. She often returned

for day visits with the family.
Not, here I come. My nephews

were small and I was playing
upstairs. This was soon after

that, hide and seek upstairs.

My mom was downstairs and she
was saying, come on Lynn, come

on down here. We want to go for
dinner and I said, as soon as I

find the boys, I will be down.
Everyone was downstairs and my

aunt was looking for us and
then she heard a voice call out

to her. So, I'm in the blue
room looking for them and I

heard my name call like in a
whisper like loud enough for me

to hear. It was like, Lynn. So
I thought it was my oldest

nephew Brett calling me to let
me know I thought oh he hurt my

mom and he's trying to speed it
up so I find him.

So, I walked into the room

and it was that heavy, horrible
feeling again.

You can feel it. You can feel
that that feeling of just get

the hell out of here and I was
too, I was actually like

frozen. I was so afraid. I was
terrified. Even thinking that

my nephews were in that room. I
backed out and ran. Rand, I ran

down the steps. I was
terrified. I mean, taking a

couple steps at a time thinking
I'm leaving my nephews up

there.

Come to find out as soon as I
got down there, nobody was up

there with me. I was by myself.
She found us down there and so

nobody was upstairs. My nephews
are hiding behind a door

downstairs. That was my aunt
Helen's room. There was no

question in my mind. I mean, I
knew it was aunt Holland and

aunt Sada and I was the only,
even though I was twenty-five,

26 years old, I knew I was
still young enough that they

did not want me there.

Now grown up, it was Lynn's
nephew's turn to experience

firsthand the weird activity in
the house. It wasn't until

later when I had my first
experience I was like okay

maybe it's just not crazy aunt
Lynn telling ghost stories or

my mom telling stories. I mean
it's you know there's some

credibility these claims.

The first experience I had was
roughly 10 years ago but I was,

I can remember like yesterday,
I'll never forget it.

I was in the the twin bedroom
and I was asleep and all of a

sudden, the fan next to me came
on.

And it just came on the middle
of the night and it's broken so

it start clanking and it woke
me up. I was like, oh my god.

Like, first, it shocks you
because it's so loud but then,

I look to see it's it's it's
the type of fan. It's it's old.

So, it's not just a push push
button. Um so, I investigate. I

tried to figure out if it's
something I could have done or

what if there was a plausible
explanation. It's a matter of

deduction like so could I have
actually turned it on? No, that

I would have to reach around
the opposite side of the fan.

Could it have come on by
itself? Is it a short? Well,

no. It's never come on before.

I even talked to some people
about it to make sure I wasn't

just crazy or you know, making
up stuff and nobody else could

figure out anything else. We
couldn't accidentally get the

fan to turn on by hitting it
the next day. I mean, we tried

anything shaking it. Nothing
could get turned on. It's the

experience that frightened me.
It was, it sent shivers down my

spine. I just had something
going on here beyond just an

old house. Spirits have an
electrical energy of their own

and when they're manifesting or
trying to communicate with you,

that energy can interfere with
these electronic devices and

even turn them on they're not
plugged in. The amount of

activity is definitely
escalated. Since my my first

experience and basically the
last 10 years it's it's gotten

more intense. Everybody who
goes there has an experience at

some point. In 2013 Lynn
decided to confront her fears

and returned to the lakehouse.
After 30 years I decided now

come on take I'm going there.
I'm going to clean it. I'm not

going to be afraid. It's been
30 years. This is ridiculous.

So I'm going to go there. And
we're going to spend the night.

My husband and I and we're
going to, you know,

everything's going to be fine.

So, I'm upstairs vacuuming.

I heard this horrible noise and
I was like, oh no, the vacuum

cleaner just broke. So I shut
it off and the noise is still

going up.

So, I follow the noise.

After 30 years of staying away
from the old house she had

inherited Lynn Brigman had
finally returned. But the

strange events that kept her
away were still occurring. And

in the back of the pink
bedroom, there's there's a

metal fan and that had turned
on and it was like hitting the

sides which were which is it's
a metal fan so it was hitting

the metal.

And a storm brews and the
electricity blows of no

electricity. I'm like, oh my
and it's pitch black.

I'm like, oh, this is horrid.

Unable to continue her work,
Lynn and her husband decided to

go to bed. So I've got this one
little flashlight and I'm not

going from point A to point B
without this flashlight. So, I

go to bed and I put the
flashlight on the nightstand

and I tossed and turned and I
and it was okay and I went fell

asleep. Then, I woke up in the
middle of the night and I had

to go to the bathroom. I went
and reached for the flashlight

and I couldn't find the
flashlight. The flashlight is

no longer on the night stand.

Flashlighting is now on a table
in front of the fireplace in

the bedroom. I would never in a
million of years gone from

there to here without a
flashlight. I wouldn't have

done it. Some spirits may be
being playful and hide objects

to confuse you. They may be
doing it in a nasty way to make

your life more miserable. Door
to the hallway was open.

But in the middle of the pitch
black is a darker than the dark

figure and it's kind of not
glowing but kind of moving.

There's movement to it.

It's hard to describe because
the place is pitch pitch black

and it's even darker in the
middle of this with that

movement. I mean, it was just,
it was horrible. There was no

question in my mind, no
question that it was my

got-to-godmothers, aunt Sade
and Holland.

Well, that's the first time I'd
actually, you know, I had

smelled things. I had felt
things. I had heard things.

This is the first time ever.

It is. That's the first time
I've ever seen anything and it

is terrifying. I'm sorry. It's
terrifying.

After I saw that figure, I I
was thinking get out of this

house. I wasn't thinking
anything else after the 30

years and all that I thought
I'm doing and I'm doing and I'm

doing it and all this happened,
I thought the only thing I

could think of is get out of
this house. It was nothing else

crossing my mind. Shadow
figures are considered a more

negative type of entity and
when you see one, it probably

has some sort of negative
connotation. Something bad

might be about to happen.

Terrified of her experiences
and dreading what might happen

next, Lynn decided to seek
help. We decided to bring in a

paranormal team just to see for
sure because everybody felt

like this overwhelming feeling
of, now, I personally felt like

dread, you know, just being in
there. We wanted confirmation.

We want to know what was in the
house or who was in the house.

Our team's been around since
2007. Uh we've worked on well

over 400 cases till date. The
first time we pulled up to this

property, it looked like an old
creepy lake house. You kind of

got the chills seeing it.

So when we walked into this
home, you could feel that you

weren't wanted there, like
there was a sort of energy that

was like trying to get you out.
When we did enter the house, we

did feel uncomfortable. Um, now
we understand why Lynn was

having that same experience.

When you feel that sort of
energy, you kind of have to

beware because you don't know
what you're stepping into.

When we first began the
investigation, we started in

the master bedroom. I set up
three pieces of equipment on

the floor. I had the EMF
detector, I have a E pod, and I

had a recorder sitting on the
floor. So, I was trying to draw

that energy to those devices.

I was walking around and I
actually felt something brush

up.

Lynn Brigman had brought in
paranormal investigators to

probe into who was hunting
their family's old lake house.

I was walking around and I
actually felt something brush

up. And it was like this cold
feeling up against my elbow.

And then it moved away.

And that right after that is
when we actually heard the

humming out in the hallway.

I actually heard a woman
humming and like almost like

there she was cleaning like
humming and singing in a way.

At that moment, I was actually
holding a camp quarter and I

heard some scuffle straight
ahead of me.

I panned up and I actually
caught a shadow man stepping

out of the bathroom.

It looked at me and then
stepped back into the bathroom.

I was like, holy. Holy. I was
freaking out. I mean, it was. I

wasn't expecting it, you know.
This thing just steps out of

the bathroom and there it is,
you know. It's just dark mass.

It's darker than dark. It has
no facial features. It's just a

black mask.

When you have that sort of
energy, you have to watch

yourself because you don't know
what could happen. During my

initial talk with Brett, he had
mentioned that aunt Helen

really didn't like people
coming into her home including

family members. So, with us
coming in there, that presence

was angry that we're actually
intruding on their property.

Some spirits are extremely
territorial because even though

they're dead, they consider
that location theirs. They

lived there, they own it, and
you're the intruder. Ah.

When we caught that humming
upstairs, we went to Lynn and

actually played the evidence
for her and she had mentioned

that aunt Helen would always
hum and clean up in that area.

After we finished up the
investigation upstairs, we

decided to go downstairs and
see if we could collect any

more evidence.

And we seen what appeared to be
something moving on the porch

and one of the investigators
took a picture. We actually

captured what appeared a woman
standing on the outside of the

porch area.

And to us, we believe it was
aunt Helen.

I think aunt Helen doesn't want
or makes everybody

uncomfortable there because
it's her place. It was her

place for 60 years and she
doesn't want to share it with

anybody. She didn't really
share her things. When the

spirit you're dealing with is a
deceased relative, particularly

one you did not get along well
with, that negative entity may

still not like you and want to
continue to cause you trouble.

So this is an extremely
difficult situation. I believe

Ann Helen is actually holding
onto this home because she was

very possessive of it and she
was very mean in life. She's

going to carry that in the
afterlife. When I evidence to

Brett he was shocked to
actually see what we captured

you know the video the picture
all the EVPs we caught you know

that validated his experiences
of what's happening there They

confirmed it. They confirmed
who we thought and they gave us

confirmation that there's
definitely something going on.

The option to cleanse the place
was given to us. We decided not

to do it. It's also family, you
know, as irritating as they can

be and as scary as they can be
and it's still having family

around is also kind of, it's a
mixed feelings. A lot of scary

experiences but also a lot of
stuff that you're okay with

too. You know, for them to know
that it could possibly be and

how maybe they'll feel more
comfortable going there. You

may be reluctant to get rid of
the spirit of a former family

member because families are
supposed to take care of one

another and you might feel a
lot of guilt when you are

trying to rid an entity from
your house of someone you maybe

grew up with. Everybody who
goes there has an experience at

some point and if it does get
worse, maybe we'll have the

house cleansed and certainly,
the intensity I mean the the

shadow figures the the feeling
the saying the the voices come

in your head saying get out I
mean those are those are pretty

intense experiences and if they
keep up she might have to get

the boot

For now, the lake house remains
in the family but Lynn and

Brett spend as little time
there as possible, fearing what

aunt Helen might do next.
