Here are our Top 3 Actors Who Got Fired in The Middle of a Shoot

At number three, it’s Stuart Townsend

The Irish actor was cast as the hero Aragorn in Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy

but four days into filming, the director decided poor Stuart looked too young for the part,

and he was replaced with Viggo Mortensen

On the second place we find Robert Downey Jr.

Robert was set to appear opposite Sandra Bullock in the sci-fi drama ‘Gravity’

but it quickly became clear that his improvisational style of acting didn’t suit the movie’s intricate technical requirements

so his role was given to George Clooney instead

And our top spot goes to Kevin Spacey

Spacey had already finished shooting the movie ‘All the Money in The World’

when he became embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal

Director Ridley Scott decided to ditch the now-tainted star and reshot all of Kevin’s scenes with Christopher Plummer in his place

getting replaced in the middle of a shoot usually happens when the actor becomes so much of a headache that no one wants to deal with them

And when that happens, there’s a risk no one will ever want to work with them ever again!

These are just a few examples of movie stars who built quite the bad boy reputation in the past

but then worked hard to turn their lives around and change their image

Unfortunately, many of our bad boys seem to have drug-related issues

Both Jay Z and Idris Elba used to deal drugs back in the days

and British funny man Russell Brand, who’s had a real troubled past including being sexually abused and suffering from bulimia

even got kicked out of school at age 16 for doing many kinds of illegal drugs

Philandering I’ve done. Skulduggery I’ve done

Colin Farrell shares a similar story

His good looks and acting talent may have landed him roles in many movies

but his recreational drug abuse, addiction to painkillers and involvement in a sex tape scandal have repeatedly landed him on tabloid covers in the past

In 2005, Farrell decided to turn his life around and checked into rehab

The actor then underwent the difficult journey of getting sober, but it all paid off as these days Colin is glad the madness is over and doesn't miss it at all

'Iron Man' star Robert Downey Jr. once was one of Hollywood's most notorious bad boys

His drug problem lead to several arrests, failed rehab visits, a stint in jail and eventually he was sentenced to three years on probation

which allowed him to continue living in drug treatment instead of returning to prison

Emerging clean and sober in 2003, Downey Jr. began to rebuild his career

Since then his life has completely turned around

And while we all know that Channing Tatum used to be a stripper back in the days

Here is all you need to know about Charlie Hunnam!

Handsome British star Charlie Hunnam grew up quite poor and had a rough childhood

until at 17, he was discovered by the production manager of a local TV show and soon was making his living as an actor

Early in his career, a lot of Charlie’s characters were not very nice people

but there’s a reason why he was so good at playing them

I grew up in a very economically and socially depressed area

Film is somewhere that I can have access to all that beauty and poetry and big ideas and all of that kind of stuff

so it was really important to me

So, I decided that is gonna be my escape from existential crisis and a very dreary way to spend my time on this earth.

A lot of people in that same environment, a lot of my family included, decided that they were gonna go into crime to escape the same things

Now, had I not found that affinity for film

I 100% would have been a gangster. No question

In 2008, Hunnam was cast as the lead on the TV drama ‘Sons of Anarchy’

about a motorcycle gang in California

His award-winning performance was the moment he truly broke through as an actor

I mean, ‘Sons of Anarchy’ helped me in every role that I play

because that was really my education

Like, I went into ‘Sons of Anarchy’ not really knowing how to put a performance together

and then after seven years of having to create arcs every week for 13 episodes every year over the course of seven years

I got so much experience that I felt like that was sort of like my university degree

In between seasons of the show

Hunnam continued to build up his movie career in films like ‘Deadfall’, ‘Pacific Rim’ and ‘Crimson Peak

After the series was over, the star graduated to true leading man status with the adventure drama ‘Lost City of Z

I was hungry for an opportunity both with substance of material and quality of director,

to move forward in my career and do the level of work that I’d always been aspiring to but hadn’t quite achieved yet in my career

So, this felt like the opportunity, in a lot of ways, that I’d been waiting my whole life for

That same year, Hunnam starred as the title hero in Guy Ritchie’s action blockbuster ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’

though the ever-erudite actor sees the movie as much more than your average popcorn flick

You know, on the surface it’s an interesting story of a man who goes on a journey and meets a bunch of interesting characters

and there’s the love triangle and everything

but the essence of it is really an exploration of the meaning of life

There was the responsibility in this film of course

because it’s a big studio film, to create the spectacle and the action and the sort of shiny surface of it

but underneath that, Guy and I felt a great responsibility

to put some substance into it and try to explore some of the things that are inherent in the narrative and that are interesting to us

And 2018 found Charlie in a new adaptation of the beloved French novel ‘Papillon

about two men desperate to escape from prison

For Hunnam, however, the project turned out to be much more of a challenge than he expected

Yeah, it was really tough for me because I had just done it once before

Right after I did ‘King Arthur’, I did a film called ’The Lost City of Z’ with James Grey, and I had to lose about 40, like 42 pounds I lost for that movie

And then I put some of that weight back on, and then I went into this film and I had to get back down to 145 pounds again for it

or at least that’s what I wanted to try to do

And it was just, my body didn’t want to do it this time

Keep an eye on Charlie Hunnam

as he slowly and steadily wins the hearts of audiences around the world

That seems to be the way of things now

Of course, the film business has always been a huge international business

but even the American film business seems to be a much more international affair than it used to be

Charlie crossed the pond and went all the way to Hollywood, USA to star in Guillermo Del Toro’s romance horror film, Crimson Peak!

And that mighty voice comes from Guillermo del Toro

the director of ‘Crimson Peak’, the movie that’s the subject of today’s trivia

The plot of this 2015 horror fantasy follows a young girl who marries a wealthy guy

Once she moves into his mansion, however, it turns out to be haunted

On top of that, she also has to deal with his psycho sister

This film really is an homage to the gothic genre, which is hardly ever featured in films anymore

The director did a lot of research during the preparation stages

The gothic starts in the 1780s with a novel called ‘The Castle of Otranto

but is most popular in the 1800s in Victorian England and in Belgium and in Germany

And then Hollywood adapts in the Golden Era of cinema with movies like ‘Rebecca’, ‘Jane Eyre’ and ‘Wuthering Heights

Big production and then it eventually decays into B-movies in the 50s and 60s

I wanted to do a proper spectacle sort of gothic, dark, beautiful movie

The lead is played by Mia Wasikowska

but the role was originally offered to Jessica Chastain

When Jess read the script however, she insisted she play the evil Lucille instead

For the part, she even learned how to play the piano

In all honesty, though, the real protagonist of this movie is the Victorian mansion itself

The whole place was built inside a studio and then torn down when filming wrapped

Also, all the props were custom made,

That says a lot about the level of attention that went into every last detail

The first time I went into the set it was really, it was an amazing moment

I think it was the scene where I was carrying Mia Wasikowska’s character, my new bride

across the threshold and into the great hall and the fires were lit

and there were autumn leaves falling through the ceiling and it was absolutely dazzling.

There was all sorts of kind of corners that you could discover and things that you could

you know details that you could keep discovering like

they would flip a switch and the walls would kind of seep with that red clay

and the words ‘fear’ were etched into the wallpaper in this one section of the house

We’ve praised the mansion enough already

but it really is one of the coolest sets ever built for a movie

The main reason for this was the vision of the director, who had some very refreshing ideas

When were talking about the movie I gave the biography of the house to the production designer and the construction guys

and said: ‘Let’s built the wardrobe and couture the architecture

And what we did is, we grabbed for example details of the house and we put it in the embroidery of the fabrics

So, Lucille is part of the house. And then when we were building the set we measured the actors and we made the corridors match, very narrow

so they could almost be incapsulated by the corridors

In the end, ‘Crimson Peak’ failed to be truly staggering

and many critics found the plot and characters rather bland

But as it looks absolutely breathtaking and has some very chilling moments in it, it’s still worth a watch

and this time around we’ll be checking out what British action star Jason Statham has been up to

Nowadays, he’s known for playing unapologetic tough guys in

movies like ‘The Expendables The Transporter’
and some of the ‘Fast and Furious’ instalments

But Jason has done all kinds of things before he made it in Hollywood

He’s been an avid sports fan his entire life, having a background in kickboxing, wing chun and karate

Back in 1992, he even participated in the British National Diving Team and finished 12th in the world championships

After doing so, he picked up a modelling career

but in his younger days, he used to be a dodgy black-market jewellery salesman

Much to his own surprise he was discovered by director Guy Ritchie who gave him a role in ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’

It became a big hit and over the years Statham rose to be a renowned star

He never lost his appetite for sports though, as he still has hobbies like wake boarding, jet skiing, wind surfing and rock climbing

It’s mostly aquatic things he can’t get enough from

We wanna swim, we wanna jump from the boat, we wanna dive, we wanna feel the water on the body

it’s amazing. It’s the greatest luxury to be in the ocean. For me

One particularly cool oceanic experience he’s had was while staying at one of the hottest tropical A-list locations in the world.

I did a dive in Fiji

which was a twenty-meter dive, with twenty-five, thirty bull sharks

All of around two-and-a-half, three meters in length

Very, very nervous on the surface and then when we went down, it was much more relaxed

When you get into the environment, and your fingertip close to these things

They're coming by. There's a couple of the Fijians that almost like a trash can full of tuna heads

and then they put on a big chain mill glove and they pull out the head and they hand feed these sharks

They come down, and they swoop in and they let go.

It's phenomenal

He shared a video of the adventure on Instagram, and “phenomenal” indeed sounds like a good word to describe it

He’s not the biggest social media junkie ever

but there’s more fun stuff on his page to be found

It’s mostly him practicing martial arts and looking ripped

although he also likes to share pics of some of the rides of his impressive luxury car collection

I prefer to drive myself.

I can have my bad music on, and I can chat on the phone

Some of his pieces include an Audi A8 and a Lamborghini Murcielago

His passion for hot sets of wheels often comes in handy for his various action movies, where he usually performs his own stunts

Besides the ocean, sports and fast sports cars, there’s one more thing Statham gets really enthusiastic about

namely very good-looking women

He used to date former model and tv host Kelly Brook

and is married to Victoria’s Secret Angel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley these days

So, I have a lot of respect for boxers who are in there, taking hits, while moving at the same time

But as a workout, when I box with my clients, twenty, fifteen minutes is more than enough, honestly

Mental dexterity is another bonus

, thanks to lightning-fast sequenced combinations

all of which utilize your own body weight for a lean result rather than bulking up

Boxing is an incredible sport and workout, primarily

It is very high intensity. It gets you moving around.

so Your whole body is always moving

your lower body is always moving, your upper body is definitely always moving

When you're throwing punches, may seem like it's easy when you're watching it, but your body tires out very quickly

So, it burns out your shoulders, your arms, your cardio vasculaire intensity is very very high when you're boxing.

So, it is incredible for many many reasons

There’s absolutely no shortage of models and celebs that swear by some firm cross-hook-jab combos to stay in perfect shape
