I'm Flash Shelton. In 2019, Squatter
took over my mom's home. The sheriff

couldn't get him out.

So I did.

Turns out my family is not alone. Across
America, thousands of homeowners get

locked out when a squatter moves in. Now
my team and I, we're coming in, travel

across the country confronting these
squatters face to face. We're not going

anywhere to help families get their
homes back.

I'm here just outside of Clay Elm,

And we just fell in love.

This was going to be our dream house

We love it here, and it's a really safe
neighborhood.

We spent about two and a half years
remodeling the house from outside in.

We live in Seattle and literally just
finished construction, and plans were

us to move in.

And now I don't know what to do.

So tell me, how did this happen to you?

I was at lunch one day, and I got a call
from a contractor that they said, hey,

are you the homeowner? And I said, yes.
And they said, oh, we just got a call

from some lady that said they're the
homeowner.

And I said, what? I'm sorry, I'm the
owner. No, you're mistaken.

So I immediately drive out to my house,
and this woman I've never seen before,

she answers the door.

And I said, you know, hi, I'm the
homeowner. This is my home. You know,

you? She slammed the door in my face.

What did you do after that?

I called the police, and they said that
there's nothing they can do because this

is a civil matter.

I just feel shock and panic and
completely violated. I can't believe

somebody else has taken over our home,
has all the rights, and we can do

essentially nothing about it. I just
feel sick to my stomach.

Squatters aren't moving into old, run
-down neighborhoods now.

Some squatters find remote locations

with beautiful, luxurious homes.

Do you know her name?

The contractor told me her name is Mary
Alice Wiggins. So, you know what?

I'm going to text my son her name so
that he can get started on looking

into Mary Alice Wiggins.

This was something Casey and her family
were not prepared for. I can tell in her

eyes, her voice, she needs our help.

This squatter does not actually have a
lease with the owner.

So as a first step, I'm having her sign
a lease agreement with me. So I will

have the legal right to occupy her home.

I assure you, I'm going to be doing
everything I can for you.

We start with gathering intel.
