They're coming!

Attack!

General Yueh!

Where is he? Tell me!

Well?

He's been taken to Ling An.

So we were decoyed!

We were tricked!

We must separate and return to Ling An

to wait for news from Hu Ping.

There's nobody within 10 miles.

We must reach Ling An by sundown.

Yes.

They say the general received

12 imperial orders to return

that cart just now.

Could the general be in it?

No, he's a loyal officer.

They couldn't treat him that way.

The country is run by corrupt men.

Don't talk nonsense.

Let's go have some tea.

We've brought General Yueh Fei back.

Ask him here.

We'll have a look at him.

Get out, kneel!

Yueh Fei, you're a traitor.

Kneel, for I represent the king!

Show some respect!

I once court marshaled you two

and punished you with only 40 stokes.

Now you work for Chin Hui

and I'm in your hands.

General Yueh.

Times have changed.

Take him away!

Find out how many accomplices he has.

Right!

Enough!

Hu Ping, where are you men?

Talk and I'll spare you.

Justice and loyalty

must be protected.

I've nothing to say to traitors.

You dare lecture me?

Beat him until he talks.

Yes.

Sir!

Well?

He hasn't talked.

A lot of itinerant swordsmen

must have infiltrated into the town.

We'll have trouble holding Yueh Fei.

What have you arranged?

Lo Ju Chieh and I will go to the ministry

to get permission to execute him.

Meanwhile, I hope you two

will keep him under close guard.

Yes, it will be to your credit.

Don't worry.

Put in some good words for me.

I know.

Thank you.

Let's start right away.

Good.

I'll see you off. Don't bother.

Use the fire.

Yes.

Well?

He got away.

They've taken the general to Ling An.

The Feng brothers stopped us

but we must save General Yueh.

Have you done the map of the tunnel?

Yes, and the 40 men have arrived.

What about Ta Chiang Security Bureau?

We can easily get 80 men.

We're just waiting for Hu Ping

to confirm he's at Ta Ki Temple.

Talk of the devil!

Are you waiting for Hu Ping?

Yes, where is he?

He's hurt, come and see.

Careful, it may be a trick!

It's Hu Ping's voice.

Hu Ping!

I'm... finished

3 days... must save...

Someone's in the woods!

An ambush!

Will you come quietly

or would you end up like Hu Ping?

You talk big!

So you're the treacherous Feng Chung?

You're Szuma Chang Hung, one of the 7 Swordsmen.

And you're the leader, Ling Ju Feng?

You're not fit to mention our names.

Throw it!

You're nothing great. Here!

Chang Hung!

Damn, I'll get you sooner or later!

Lu Kun!

Yes!

String them up

so anyone looking for trouble

can know what to expect.

Right!

Sister, look!

That's Ling An.

Yes, you go and ask brother

whether we should go in.

Not yet.

Why not?

It's a big place. Good for business.

Are we to sit here and starve?

She's right.

I don't mean that.

Don't argue with brother.

At least let's go ashore.

We've been aboard so long.

Stop arguing.

Ta Li, go locate the magistracy

and give them this with our compliments.

I understand.

When Ta Li returns, we'll decide what to do.

Brother, third sister...

What is it?

Someone caught my leg.

He looks dead now.

Go pick him up.

No, not a dead body!

You forget mother used to say

touching a dead body will bring his spirit.

Nobody touched the two corpses just now.

Don't be stupid.

He's unconscious, but alive.

Not dead?

Why should I lie?

Carry him to the boat.

Go on!

Hurry up!

Is it serious?

No.

Those wounds will soon mend.

He's pretty handsome.

Don't talk rubbish.

Hurry!

He looks like a swordsman

but he's still very young.

There are young swordsmen everywhere.

They say there's a Ling Ju Feng

who saved thousands from the tartars.

He's only about 20 years old.

We know swordplay but we're ordinary.

What is this place?

You're on our boat.

What do you do?

We're performers.

We're the Sung Troupe.

Everyone's heard of us.

I heard it has two acrobatic girls

who also walk the tightrope

and a stilt man.

We're all one family.

Glad to know you.

Why hasn't he heard of me?

Go to the city and get busy.

All right!

I may be rude, but I'm honest.

It's better not to go to the city.

Just give the gift to passing officers.

Come out, all of you!

Drop the screen. Don't mention me.

What do you do?

We're performers, the Sung Troupe.

Is there anyone else aboard?

Er... I wouldn't know.

Damn!

Anyone hiding Ling Ju Feng

will be killed with his family.

Anyone who can give his whereabouts

will be rewarded with 500 teals of gold.

There's no justice any more.

Sister!

Hurry!

Where is he?

Where did he go?

Strange.

I'm Ling Ju Feng.

You're the one worth 500 teals?

Quiet.

You talk but say the wrong things.

You almost got us into trouble.

All right, it's my fault.

Stop it.

Knocking will make you more stupid.

I'm a wanted man.

I'd better go.

Since you're here...

We can't let you go till you're well.

You're wet.

I appreciate it.

Hiding me could get you into trouble.

Besides, you've already saved me once.

I can't do this to you.

Don't underestimate us.

Who dares look down on us?

Don't take it so seriously.

I've things to do and can't stay.

The Yuan troops are moving in.

Only general Yueh Fei

can save the country and people, but...

he's a prisoner at Ta Li Temple.

Minister Chin sent 12 imperial orders

to deceive him into returning.

If there's anything we can do

we'd be glad to lend a hand.

But...

We're rovers

but we know what justice means.

Then I'll trouble you.

Wear this flower into the city.

When my friends see it

they'll contact you.

We're the Sung Troupe, just arrived...

to perform for you.

Please don't be too critical.

Good, good!

I've been tricked, scolded, bullied

envied, attacked, what to do?

Show respect, patience, and tolerance

and watch what he does.

Miss Sung, from what you said...

I really admire you.

I've met many people

but few like you.

Pity my swordplay wasn't good enough

and need you to tend my wounds.

Take your medicine

and then talk.

Master Ling!

Master Ling!

Master Ling!

I'm Big Sung, the strongman.

She's wearing a flower.

Please be generous. Thank you!

Yes, but Ling might be in trouble.

Perhaps not.

That girl is trying to attract attention.

Let's find out.

Wait.

Thanks.

Come here!

Constable.

I tipped you, and you hit me!

Public gatherings are not allowed.

Get out!

All right!

This is for you.

It won't be enough next time.

Get out!

Get out!

There's no peace any where.

Pack up and let's go.

I'd like to ask you something.

Go ahead.

It's about the flower and that painting.

We have similar flowers.

Look!

Join us.

I don't deserve such attention.

Not at all.

I hope you'll recover soon.

You're a warm hearted family.

Such selflessness is rare.

Come here.

Watch them and report any developments.

Hurry!

Thank you.

We're home!

Is Master Ling better?

He's fine.

Come in and sit down.

Sister!

What is it?

Come on!

What is it?

This is for you.

Aren't you going to thank me?

Sit down. Were you followed?

No.

Enemy eyes are everywhere.

Have a long chat with Master Ling.

I'll keep a lookout.

I'll go.

OK.

Brother Sung is very helpful.

Not at all.

The people are getting impatient,

at Kuanti Temple and Tachiang Security Bureau.

With no news from you they'll move tonight.

The executioner is coming to Ta Li Temple.

There's no time to lose.

You're right.

We've lost Hu Ping who knew the layout.

We mustn't be rash.

Besides, there's a price

on my head now.

We mustn't make a wrong move.

You're right.

Let's go to the city first.

No, posters of you are everywhere.

You can't go in.

Don't worry.

Goodbye, brother Sung.

You're going?

Yes. Thank you for everything.

Master Ling!

Master Ling, take care!

He was eavesdropping.

How many of them were there?

Two.

The other one got away.

Brother Sung, better not stay here.

Strongman, get aboard.

OK.

Raise anchor!

Right!

Master Ling, take care!

Beware of a trap!

Hold it!

Going into the city?

Come out!

None must remain alive!

Tell them at Kwanti Temple

we'll meet at Tachiang Security Bureau.

Right!

Ju Feng!

Our numbers have been decimated.

We'll have to play this by ear.

Come on!

Lu Kun was a careful man.

Tricky even after death.

What does Tachiang mean?

Ta Chiang...

Ta Chiang Security Bureau!

Hu Ping and Chang Hung,

died for the Sung reign.

Master Chin, Chief Chou...

your mission will be dangerous.

You'll lead the men tonight

to cover both sides of Ta Li Temple.

I'll take the left, you the right.

I'll lead the Kwanti Temple men

via the tunnel.

At midnight we'll attack

and you'll back us up.

It's the only way to save General Yueh.

Right!

Chang Chun will open the gates.

Be ready to charge in.

Right!

After we've got the general

we'll leave by the tunnel

while Chin keeps the enemy at bay.

Right! Hsiao Mu and I will come with you.

Right!

Get ready, we meet at Ta Li Temple.

Now, Master Ling?

We'll go into the tunnel first.

Go on, Chang Chun!

Open the gates!

Careful!

Damn!

Separate and look for the general!

Well?

They seemed to be ready for us.

Liang Ju Feng, you won't get away!

One move and Yueh Fei dies!

Back off!

Back!

Block the tunnel!

Right!

Only three of you? Where's the general?

We'll save him sooner of later.

Attack!

Every man has his peer.

Stay here, I'm going back to Ta Li Temple.

Kill anyone emerging from the tunnel!

Right!

Did you get Ling Ju Feng?

No.

I kill all three from the tunnel.

He got away.

He can't do anything alone.

Maybe.

You've seen someone and you're worried.

Whom?

Master Ling!

Nonsense!

I'll tell brother.

We'll set up outside Ta Li Temple

and see if anything's up.

I don't care where.

No need to pretend. Brother.

All right.

We hope you'll enjoy the show.

Our girls know a special feat.

They can contract into a wine flagon.

Please be generous.

Look, she's inside.

Good.

Good.

Come out!

Thank you!

Please be generous!

Thank you!

Thank you!

What is it?

Dead bodies!

They tried to rescue General Yueh

but all got killed.

Ta Chiang Security Bureau is closed.

Kwanti Temple is under guard.

The executioner comes for Yueh tomorrow.

Disperse the crowd!

No, let them see the bodies.

Let them be a warning.

Master Ling is here.

You didn't leave the city?

Master Ling!

I've failed!

Don't feel so bad.

It's not your fault.

You did your best, don't blame yourself.

I'm ashamed to see anyone.

Don't be so depressed.

There's always a way.

Yes, we can do it again!

Easier said than done.

Ta Li Temple is impenetrable.

Every part is guarded.

I led over 100 men

but we failed.

Now I'm alone.

Let me have a word now.

It's easy to save the general.

Never mind the guards.

They're all on the ground

4th sister can go by rooftops

3rd sister can contract into the dungeon.

They won't even know

and we can save General Yueh.

That makes sense!

It's doesn't take numbers to succeed.

We can still save the general!

It's almost suicidal.

Do you think we're afraid of death?

I don't mean that.

Even if you hadn't mentioned it

we'd have thought of it.

I'm an ordinary person

but I know justice and loyalty.

If I didn't do what I could.

I'd never forgive myself.

You must save general Yueh.

Are you afraid?

It's something that must be done

no matter what the danger.

And you?

I'm not afraid to do what I must.

What about you, Strongman?

I don't know.

Whatever you dare, I dare.

What else is on your mind?

While they're confident, we must move.

Your selflessness

deserves respect.

Brother Sung, up!

After I'm up

use the rope. Be careful.

Right!

Master Ling, don't worry about us.

You must take care.

Thank you.

It's up to you, Strongman.

I know.

I'll wait to catch the general.

Right!

But don't leave this spot.

I won't.

We've done a good job for Chin Hui.

We'll be influential and rich.

We must wait for the executioner

to finish the job first.

He's arriving tonight.

Nothing can go wrong.

I saw General Yueh inside.

Sister won't have to use her skill.

Strongman was only half right.

Someone's on the roof! Surround it!

Someone's on the roof! Surround it!

Imagine, in broad daylight.

What have you done with General Yueh?

Why should I tell you?

Come down and I might spare you.

Disperse.

Go find General Yueh!

You know the art of contraction?

The general is here!

Kill Yueh Fei!

I won't die by your hands!

General Yueh!

Who're you?

Ling Ju Feng. I came to save you.

I've heard of you.

Hurry, or it's be too late!

No need. Justice will prevail.

The law will decide my fate.

Hurry!

Say no more.

You take the general. I'll hold them off.

Hurry, Miss Sung.

You go first!

Miss Sung, hurry!

You too, back off!

Strongman!

Get the archers ready!

Yes.

Strongman! Strongman!

How is he?

He's gone!

Strongman!

Get rid of their helpers outside.

Yes.

Strongman!

Strongman!

Hurry, we must save the general!

Strongman!

Strongman!

Sister!

I'm coming!

Where were you?

Catch!

I've got him!

Never mind me, go!

Hurry, Sister!

Yu Erh, go!

Master Ling, what about you?

One can die in glory or in shame.

I couldn't be your wife

but in death we can be together.

Don't forget we came to save the general.

I know.

The rose you hold will remind you of me.

Hurry, Yu Erh!

Let's go before there's big trouble.

No.

We must get the general to safety.

Hurry!

Put me down!

I'm Sung.

This is my third sister.

Let me go back.

You mustn't!

Damn it!

This is ridiculous.

You mustn't go back.

Hundreds have died for your sake.

My sister gladly died for you.

You mustn't go back!

I must abide by the law.

Think: You led 100,000 troops

and defeated 1,000,000 enemy troops

only to end up like this.

It's a trick by corrupt minister Chin.

Right.

A soldier must take orders.

But you needn't have heeded.

That's right.

Nonsense! Have you no respect for the law?

I have nothing to fear.

Look.

My mother carved this on my back:

be loyal to your country.

I've always heeded these words.

I must heed superiors, corrupt or not.

You mustn't go back!

You mustn't return!

Master Ling!

3rd sister! Wake up!
