November 5th, 1872, on the Texas Mexican

border, an army courier bound for Fort

Clark with an important message for

Colonel Ronald McKenzie.

The courier had been warned that a

former member of the ruthless J-Hawks

who paged the Kansas Missouri border

during and after the Civil War was in

the area. His name Bodri, a plunderer of

both sides of the border, responsible

for the death of more than 300 settlers.

To Mexican and American officials alike,

Bodri was the territo's most wanted

outlaw,

serious problem. As the prisoner of

Colonel Cortalis, he faced the grim

probability of a trial and subsequent

hanging. The only hope lay in a

continued disguise of his true identity

and the knowledge that his raiders were

still free somewhere in Mexico.

>> It sure was bungled. We got 20 men

right in our face.

night on the Texas plains. A night which

took an unexpected turn for Colonel

Reynold McKenzie. Someone to see you,

sought his two missing raiders in

Mexico. And for six months, each mission

was marked by failure.
