- My name is Melanie Courtland.

I was Richard Deakin's fiance.

He has been missing for over a year now,

and the police still don't have any leads.

When gathering information
for the investigation,

I found one of his external hard drives,

and before handing it over to the police,

I decided to go ahead and copy,

so that way I can review the footage.

A lot of it was stuff
that he had already had

on his channel East To West,

though the majority of
it had never seen before,

including the last clip that we just saw,

of David Reznick, before
his body was found.

A lot of the people that were with Richard

for this project of his have been found

either missing or dead.

I know, with all of that,

I know that he would want all these clips

uploaded to his channel.

If any of his viewers are religious,

or if you just have issues with anything

that involves demonic summonings or sigils,

I just wanna be able to find
out where Richard may be.

My name is Richard
Deakin, and it's February 1st.

As I look outside, it is cold and shitty.

As y'all know, as viewers of my channel,

that I mainly cover the
paranormal and conspiracy theories.

What most, if not, all of you do not know

is that my day job, I'm an accountant.

I know. Really, really exciting.

But with your support and
your help and your viewership,

I am so excited to announce
today, that I quit my job.

It just give us so much more time

to look at the things that we are really,

really interested in.

And there's one thing
that stands out to me,

and I really want to talk about it today,

and that's the concept of magic.

I don't mean magic, like a
magician pulling a fucking rabbit

out of his hat, right?

I mean, "Magick," with a K.

Aleister Crowley spelt it this way

to differentiate it from
the illusionist style magic

of his time.

He was even quoted as saying that,

"magic is the science and
art of causing change to occur

in conformity with the Will."

And that's Will with a capital W.

A bit dense, but he
does explore it in his book,

the Book of the Law, and the Book of Lies.

This book was given to me by Melanie,

and I just wanna give a shout out to her.

She's such a support of me in the channel,

and this wouldn't be possible without her.

This book, I'm sorry, has poems, rituals,

and cryptograms in it.

I'd highly suggest you get it.

Lastly, we have the Goetia.

This is a book about summoning
spirits, specifically demons,

and according to the text,
there are 72 demons in here.

And you might ask why.

Why would anybody look
at this or work with this?

They work with these demons to gain wisdom,

great wealth, and even
sometimes to destroy their enemies.

What I'm hoping to do is to interview

and work with different
practitioners of the Goetia

to better understand this,

but to also begin to do
my own summoning rituals,

just to see what happens.

I'm gonna compile this data, these videos,

and these interviews
into something I'm excited

to call The Goetia Diaries.

This one's gonna be a
little bit different today,

from what we normally cover,

which is the occult and conspiracy stuff.

Many of y'all have been
asking me about the gear

or the cameras that I use
to film all of these segments,

so we're gonna talk about it.

Firstly, I have my cell phone
here, and to be honest,

if I didn't have anything else,

this would suffice as a camera.

Complimentary to that, I
have something called a gimble,

which is used for motion or movement shots.

That doesn't change the
fact that, if it was up to me,

I'd have my camera on a tripod,

getting the best static shot that I could.

The second camera,

and one that you're
probably all familiar with,

is called an action camera.

I'll be using this to film all the ritual

and summoning segments
while doing The Goetia Diaries.

I think this will provide you
with a more personalized look

at the things that I'm getting into.

Thirdly, and importantly, is my B camera,

to capture my alternate angles.

And it's called a DSLR camera.

My last camera, the one being used to film

this very segment,

is called a full frame mirrorless camera.

And to be honest, it's fucking amazing.

I'd use it for everything if I could,

but we don't always have that luxury.

Gear isn't as important as it used to be,

so if I have to use something,

I can use my cell phone, and that's fine.

The important thing is
to just shoot. Just film.

demon summoning stuff.

If she could only
understand how fucking big

this is gonna be for me,

how important this could
be to the both of us.

Why not something safer?

Sex magic.

It's a way of putting
it out into the universe

that you want her.

Not demons, but you
still have to be careful.

I had a woman become
obsessed with me after a ritual.

So, you better make sure you want her.

- So I do this magic,

woman falls for me.

Melanie falls for me.

That sounds pretty coercive.
That sounds manipulative.

- Not anymore than flowers or jewelry.

It's more about reigniting
desires that already exist.

Like bringing them back to the surface.

In this case, whatever
she felt for you before,

she'll feel again.

it doesn't sound nearly as bad.

- It's not. It's just lesser magic.

And if you insist on getting into magic,

you really, really need to
start from the beginning,

researching this stuff,
and stuff like folk magic.

You can't fight in the Kumite

Playing with advanced stuff like Goetia

and summoning demons.

We're gonna be doing a shorter video today.

There's a couple books
that my buddy, Alan Zimmer,

wanted me to talk about,
one being on sex magic,

and the other being on financial sorcery.

But he highlighted a
couple of rituals in this one

that he wanted me to look at.

What is sex magic?

From what he says, and from what I've read,

it's using sexual arousal
or even a sexual orgasm,

while visualizing a
desired outcome or result

that you'd like to have happen,

whether that's the partner
that you've been lusting after,

a certain wealth or object
that you hope to get,

or even power over others.

We'll see.

As for financial sorcery,

there's a ritual in this book
about starting a cash journal,

where you can hope to get
the wealth that you desire.

Let's put it to the test.

Let's see how much ad revenue
this particular video can get.

Let's see how many likes
and subscribes come this way,

and we'll see what manifests.

For this sex magic ritual,

I'm going to write out
a statement of desire

on a piece of paper.

I will then take the
first letter of every word

on that piece of paper and draw a sigil.

I'll then draw that out on a piece

of virgin parchment paper.

Then I'm supposed to masturbate,

and when I climax, I
will focus on the sigil,

and when I'm done, I will
take the parchment paper

with the sigil on it, and I'll burn it.

how you got into the occult

and the macabre.

- My earliest recollection
is feeling an attraction

to things that scared me or
made me feel physically uneasy.

That emotion was
exciting in different ways.

- And the macabre?

- It is easy to see beauty in that

which is universally
thought of as beautiful.

There's no challenge to the mind.

Anyone can see the beauty of a rose.

It's more challenging to see the beauty

in something that's age-decayed,

and to continue to find beauty in something

most people have discarded
as useless takes effort,

but it feels much more rewarding.

The same goes with light;

it is easy to find comfort
and safety in light.

It takes a special person
to see through the darkness,

and find the same comfort and safety there,

and allow its secrets to envelope you.

- That's quite profound.

I'm wondering if you could take a moment,

and tell me more about all
these artifacts you've collected.

- [Soren] I've done
some extensive traveling,

and I've been fortunate
enough to have a master network

of fellow private collectors.

This has helped me build a
home that feels like an escape

and keeps me stimulated,

and in constant state of creativity.

- I could see where you could stay creative

in a space like this.

Would you possibly
tell me a little bit more

about how you got into black magic,

and more specifically the Goetia?

- My interest is in demonology

and spirit invocation.

Demonology is an integral part of magic.

Steven Skinner once
said that he has knowledge

when it comes to his work
with demons and spirits.

Belief is secondhand knowledge,

whereas knowledge is
a result of experience,

and this is where I come from.

- So, you're saying you've
seen demons and spirits?

- Yes.

I've seen spirits since I was a child,

and I began to work with
demonic entities in my 20s.

- But why demons?

- [Soren] Demons have
been unjustly maligned

by mainstream culture and religion.

Working with these spirits can help

expand your consciousness.

If you look at the Greek language,

the word demon or daemon is similar

to the Latin word, "Genius."

Actually, it refers to
external inspiration.

These spirits can convey
great information and knowledge

to the magician that works with them.

Take this book home.

This is the best book I have
in working with the Goetia.

He was written by a
man named David Reznick.

He has worked with all 72 spirits.

The Goetia is basically
a catalog of spirits

you can summon and work with.

Find one that works for
you, and go from there.

- Okay.

It shows a real demon being
summoned by a practitioner.

The video involves the viewer,

because the practitioner asks the spirit

to affect the person watching the video.

Things will begin to happen in your life,

if you will, maybe you didn't
have as much focus on it,

and so that's causing your project,

the building, to crack and tumble.

That's the people signifying coming out,

they're falling out of this project.

Often this can be your
relationships, job, even internally.

- Yeah, I recently went
through a pretty bad breakup,

so that's pretty spot on, actually.

- It can be.

- It's okay. The devil's
not coming for you.

That's actually a misconception.

This card actually signifies
a lot of lust, want for power.

But what I like to look for in this card,

as you see the individuals,

they're not necessarily
chained to anything.

It's actually, they're not locked in.

They're standing there
on their own free will.

They have chosen to stay
in the spot that they're in.

It's almost like addiction.
You're just stuck in that.

Does that resonate at all?

- Yeah, I can't really
describe it right now,

but yeah, that's hitting all.

And this one is spirit.

We have the five swords.

So, if you look at the
environment of what's going on

in the card, do you see the man by himself,

while the others are walking away

and their swords are on the ground.

This can be conflict,
violence, fighting, arguing.

Party is giving up, walking away.

He looks pretty confident and smug,

so maybe there's some
self sabotaging going on.

That's generally what we get from that.

There's a lot to unpack in this.

- That's an understatement.

Is it possible that we could maybe talk

more about this right now?

Some of y'all might recognize this.

This is Baphomet, and Baphomet was a deity

that the Knights Templar
were accused of worshiping.

The Knights Templar were
then arrested and executed

on Friday, the 13th, October, 1307.

Baphomet was then subsequently incorporated

into occult and mystical traditions.

The name Baphomet has also been associated

with the sabbatic goat image that was drawn

by the occultist Eliphas Levi in the 1800s.

On the arms here,
you'll see the Latin words,

"Solve, Coagula". "Dissolve, coagulate."

As above, so below.

The image of the
Baphomet has also been used

on the devil card that you'll find

in the Rider-Waite tarot card deck,

and is also the official
symbol of the Church of Satan.

Does this look familiar?

Later today,

I'm gonna be meeting with a practitioner

of the left hand path.

His name is Trevor Mane.

He has a podcast where he
talks about all things occult,

and he's also written several
books on the left hand path.

The left hand path has
been equated with black magic

and black shamanism,

but also the breaking
of taboo and set morality.

embrace the dark and the light,

I've found it's a lifelong pursuit.

There's always something new to learn

about your magical development.

How about you, Deakin?
What's been your experience?

- On advice from friends and acquaintances,

I've dabbled with sex
magic and wealth magic,

but recently I've been
delving into the Goetia.

- Ah, the Goetia.

That sounds pretty advanced, actually.

Now, when you say Goetia,

are you referring to
the summoning of demons

and attempts to contact
higher intelligences?

- I believe so.

In advanced is the right word.

I've been doing so much research,

and looking at all of the data,

and I've discovered I could
look at this my entire life,

and I still wouldn't scratch the surface.

But I'm wondering, why
would somebody do this?

- Why?

Why do people sit outside
at night, staring up at the sky,

waiting for UFOs to appear?

Because they want to
know what's really going on.

And the more you look at it,

you start to see there's more going on

than either science or
religion could ever explain.

- What does the Goetia explain?

- Well, the Goetia is a
way of trying to understand

what is going on.

It's a way of trying to see the truth.

The problem with that is most people,

if they did see the
truth, couldn't handle it.

- So, the Goetia is an
interpretation of our truth.

What do you really believe?

Are these external and
separate entities real?

Are they all in our heads?

- What do you think, Deakin?
You got demons in your head?

- I feel like we all do,
but that reminds me.

I found this bookmark with
the sigil of Asmodeus on it.

What can you tell me about this entity?

- My old friend Asmodeus.

Well, I can tell you he's
a three-headed demon.

His first head is a bull.
Second head is a ram.

Third head is a man.

- He's also the main adversary of Solomon,

and a demon of lust, right?

- Well, if you read the
cheap dime store grimoires,

he is.

You dig a little bit deeper,

and you learn there's
three great keys of hell.

Asmodeus is the first key,
and that's the key of the mind.

Astaroth is the second key,
and that's the key of the heart.

And by unlocking those
two and combining them,

the third great key is unlocked,

and that's Belial, the true black magic.

- So, Asmodeus is the key to black magic?

- [Trevor] Yes.

tools to begin using

with the rituals that I've been conducting.

It's taken me some time
to collect all of these,

and to be honest, a lot of
it was pretty hard to find,

so I had to get it online,

send it off to be consecrated
by magicians that I know,

and in some cases, make them on my own.

Let's get started.

So right here, we have
the hexagram of Solomon.

You wear this on the lower part of a robe,

and you show this to spirits,

in order to compel them to take human form

and become obedient to you.

And the next item here
is the Triangle of Art.

And as you can see, it's
already been consecrated.

This is a magical triangle,
surrounded by divine names,

including the Archangel Michael.

What you'll do is you'll
place the black scrying mirror

here in the middle when
working with evil spirits,

in order to trap them
by their divine names.

This next item is incredibly important.

This is called the magic circle,

and this mat is so large I'm
not even showing all of it,

just a piece of it,

and it's also surrounded by divine names,

in order to keep spirits
from entering the circle

when you're conducting a ritual.

However, it's incredibly
important that you do not

leave the circle when doing a ritual.

The next two items I
had to have custom made

and consecrated by a jeweler in Greece.

First, I'm gonna have to grab this,

and hold this up to show you.

This is the pentagram of Solomon,

which is a necklace worn
around your neck, unsurprisingly,

which will protect you from spirits,

but also help you command them.

And this last item,

which is truly the most
important of them all

is the ring of Solomon,

which is also worn to
protect you from evil spirits,

and also to help you command them.

But perhaps most uniquely,
and most importantly,

you hold this ring close to your face

when working with evil spirits or demons.

It'll protect you from the sulfurous fumes

in the flaming breaths
of those same demons.

This right here is a brass vessel.

When working with spirits,

you'll place a demon's symbol or sigil

on a piece of handwritten paper,

and you'll take that paper
and put it in the middle

of the triangle,

and then you'll place it
back in the brass vessel.

The vessel was surrounded
by the secret seal of Solomon,

which is an inscription which
will help contain the spirit

inside the vessel.

There's stories of people
mistakenly opening the vessel,

entirely unaware of what was kept inside,

unleashing these evil
demons into their lives.
