with rheumatoid arthritis,
and going to the doctors,

a anti-inflammatory diet.

That led us toward this type
of a lifestyle,

- growing our own food.
- And I felt instantly better.

So, we moved away
from suburbia.

And we are so much
more fulfilled here.

The closest person is
probably four miles away.

It takes us a good 30 minutes
to get to town.

We're not tied to any
type of power grid at all.

We have our own solar system
out here,

and then we have
composting type of toilet.

We have no running water.

Oh, these ruthless
little savages.

We changed our mindset
to having less.

Water the plants,
not my feet.

Having more experiences
in the dirt with our kids

- than buying them toys.
- We got some squash.

I'm hoping,
by doing this swap,

I can show another family
a different way of living,

connecting to the land.

how disconnected they are

from nature.

and then you just have

this tiny, little patch
