has been a very turbulent time And and I know that there has been the the talk that you take a couple of steps back before you take five or six Steps forward where do you see everything right

now state of flux?

Storylines haven't materialized Such as the invasion live event business it is down a certain percentage right now Do you think that some of the talent some of the

producers some of the writers maybe even are perhaps?

pressing No, without a doubt If there's a tendency when business is not as good as it as it has been That that you

begin to what we call in our business oversell Which is going to turn more people off than it is really turning them on What do you think the next trend will be where

where will the business find that niche and and go over the top once again?

And and bring the masses back the some of the casual fans that have that have turned away You know, I believe there's going to be a

tidal wave from an attitudinal standpoint from a from a creative direction standpoint, and I think it's going to wash away a lot of of

our ills And I can't exactly put my finger on it nor can I specifically articulate it to you at the moment I just know it's on its way Prophetic

words to say the least shortly thereafter the company was reimagined and rebranded in typical McMahon fashion World

They work Getting the F out was a way to keep some of the old attitude and an opportunity to begin the process of

moving in a new direction and with no F WWE was born World

wrestling Entertainments, I just want please I'll never work, but it sure did It's like 7-eleven changed their name to 712 But I think

Vince saw it as a positive mood anyway, because as he's famously said over and over again He doesn't want a wrestling company.

He wants an entertainment company Things have to change sometimes and it was difficult, but we got the F

out and did what we do best and that's entertained WWE

Raw fans have sold out the historic Madison Square Garden Well, this is what Smackdown is all about

a new Smackdown a new war a new WWE Suddenly with a new name new logo and new vibe

Business was picking back up and the brand split was starting to pay off now There was competitiveness Somebody called the

MPs.

It was a huge competition a very healthy competition between the two brands.

I remember being on an overseas tour and We were on the Smackdown which was no Kind of marked as the B show so to speak

and I remember we got the numbers for this tour the B-side Smackdown had done bigger numbers than raw and I remember everybody getting up

and high-fiving each other and Giving her each other a pat on the back and everybody's legitimately excited that we had done bigger numbers If raw would get a good rating they

would come in go ha ha ha logged in 4.6 and Smackdown would fight to get a better rating So what

we were doing was working It became a competition within the company And you saw a lot of guys really shine and when there's

competition it breeds a better product Welcome to another historic night Well, the brand split presented great opportunities for

the talent to get out there and do what they do best, which is entertain There's

too much talent for one show you had 30 guys sitting around in the locker room not being able to get TV time So

The brand split was like The best thing since sliced bread because now you got another eight guys the 12 guys Able to go and have a

platform You are looking at the exciting future of Smackdown It

was designed specifically for people like Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy and edge and ready Guerrero People that you see like man, there's something there that people are sparking to That

was always the goal To create new stars More

than a year after the Monday Night Wars conclusion Wwe had began to forge a whole new identity and For the most part it was

working, but there was still something missing We

didn't have that number one guy There were a lot of younger guys or a

lot of peers that felt it should be this guy should be that guy and We wanted the guy not saying it should be him saying

it's me There's no question that each and every single one of you Know that I

Vincent Kennedy McMahon am an unqualified success Anybody that's involved in innovation

and entertainment in particular It's all driven by energy it's all driven by passion, and I think you have to rally your team

More than any one quality that makes me the successful man that I am I would have to say that one quality is

Ruthless aggression The message For the talent was this is your opportunity now,

I need a new number one who wants to be in So I want to know here tonight
