drop points in the area.

And when the threat
of invasion receded,

the network kept going because...

the threat of spies never went away.

But they weren't much good, then,
if they missed Kerling, were they?

But what if they didn't?

What if someone - an observer, say -

had rumbled Kerling,

but instead of just filing a report,

they decided
to do something about it?
