a guy, his name is Mohamed Ali Aden, and
he's from Somalia.

Basically what happened...

Short of a short story was he had his
nose cut off by insurgents from Somalia.

Goodness. Yeah. He lives in a village
and it's, you know, they're very

unfortunate. They don't have a lot of
things that a lot of other people have.

And a lot of the village members there
were, you know, they're dealing with

malnutrition. And a lot of people
weren't healthy there. So basically what

happened was the insurgents had accused
him.

He was trying to bring a group of, like
a team of doctors over there to the

village to help his people. And he kind
of got caught in the way. And they

basically got him and tortured him a
little bit and cut off his nose.

And, yeah, so I heard about it. And
basically he needs reconstructive facial

surgery.

What if he doesn't get it? I mean, what
could happen? What does happen in that

kind of situation?

Well, if he doesn't get the surgery,
eventually he's going to die.

Not to mention all the, like, in between
them, the infections that he would get

and the pain, just numerous.

I can't even imagine what he would have
to go through to deal with something

like that. But if he gets the surgery,
it will actually save his life. He will

be able to live a life.

grow on and be happy, especially what he
did.

I mean, one of the reasons why we were
so interested in helping him was

you know, this was someone who was doing
something heroic. He was trying to save

people and because of the severity of
the situation.

So what I've been trying to do is I got
together with someone at the Thornhill

hospital, at the general hospital, a Dr.
Radcliffe who does the surgery. He's

actually agreed to do the surgery, like
waived the cost.

And then I got the airlines people to
fly.

um muhammad over with his family and
take care of that part so something that

was actually going to cost you 250 some
thousand dollars around there i've got

pretty much so much donations and
certain things worked out so right now

just seeing about like you know 45 40
000 or something and then everything

hopefully will go according to plan well
it sounds like you've certainly done

your homework i tried i tried the least
i could do i mean I can't imagine going

through something like that.

You know, most of the time I hear things
like this, and they're, you know, oh,

well, you know, we have this, this cost
will be, and there's the medical

expenses, and this doctor wants this
money. And it sounds like you've really,

you know, you've done your homework in
finding people who are willing to donate

their time and their money, their
energy, you know, whatever it is,

this cause, and because he was doing a
heroic thing, and because he has a

family. And I think that's just
fabulous.

It's always hard finding people, too,
that...

A lot of people I've noticed, they're
really interested in it, and then

sometimes they don't fall through or
whatnot. But the people that I've met

been really great. They've been willing
to donate their time, their money, just

because they've been so touched by the
story. So it's pretty good. I'm excited.

I'm happy for him. I hope it works out.
I'm excited to meet him and see how the

done all of this research and trying to

this whole thing together for him.

A little bit about me.

I'm in charge of my grandfather's trust,
and he was a reconstructive plastic

surgeon.

$700 ,000 behind. I know that doesn't
sound like much, but he, you know, in

time, that was quite a bit of money. And
so I want to make sure that in, you

know, by per his wishes and the way he
was, you know, his personal, you know,

beliefs and standards and, you know, the
way that he practiced, you know,

reconstructive surgery, I want to make
sure that I'm going to be able to get

most for his money.
