I take a look at this gal

and she's lookin' at me
with those pool-table eyes,

and I know I'm through
bein' lonely.

There she is, Jim,
holdin' her arms
out to me like this.

Well, I nearly
break my neck
rushin' up to her,

and just as I'm about
to take her in my arms
like this,

the biggest, meanest,
ugliest, scar-faced hairpin
you've ever laid your eyes on

steps right between us,
and says in a voice that
sounds like broken glass,

"What do you mean
cozyin' up to mywife?"

Well, before I get
a chance to explain,

there's this fist,
about as big as a--

medium-sized dog
is rushin' right at my nose.

Pow.

Next thing you know,
I'm lyin' on the floor
of the bunkhouse,

wide awake, shiverin'.

And you won't believe this,

but three out of four times,
I wake up, my nose is bleedin'.

[ laughing ]

Ssh! Ssh.

We wake up those hands,

you'll hear the cussin'
all the way back
to the ranch house.

Hey, you know,
you handled that gun

the funniest feeling that
we've met someplace.
