they've created a top ten,
which is our final players pretty much.

That's going to drop down
over the following rounds of Gold Coast

Sandown and come Adelaide

there's going to be four drivers
fighting for a championship.

It's so unique
that we have. This final system.

It's very much like the playoffs.

It's all that we see in.

NASCAR and you just can't
afford to make a mistake.

The one thing with.

That championship, which is probably
hurt us as a championship, is when.

Guys win the championship before the end.

So with that finals. It's a you never get.

To know who's going to win the.

Championship. Right up until Adelaide.

For the crowd, for the fans.

And for the team
is going to be so exciting.

You could win
every single race of the season and DNF.

The last race
in Adelaide by mechanical failure,

and you won't win the championship.
Some feel robbed.

I think it's going to be some hard
luck stories

and there could be a real gimme
come the end.

Someone who hasn't been in contention
over a year that could steal it.

So it's going to be
exciting one way or another.

We couldn't have hoped for four better
finals.

You know, you look at the,

you know, sort of the champion
Red bull team and then,

particularly Brock's dominance
throughout the course of the year.

The race pace of Will, you know, the way
in which he's actually kept in the finals,

to have a rookie Kai Allen
in his first series,

you know, to have got in the finals
and then such a great fan favorite,

you know, in
terms of Chaz made the best driver win.

Kai Allen

barely scraped into the finals
just on the last lap at Bathurst.

And here
he finds himself inside the top four.

And he's home
race in Adelaide in his rookie year.

I mean, coming to his events

have been seven years old and as an event
just in general was really, really cool

and absolutely loved coming,
watching as a kid.

And I get to race on it
and fight for championships

I've dreamt of
since I've been a little boy.

Got nothing to lose
coming to the last round

and what a way to do it in my home state.

So, Yeah, absolutely.

It's a great track for one of my favorite
tracks on the calendar as well.

Everyone keeps writing Will Brown off.

He needs to qualify better.

Qualifying is going to be so critical
at Adelaide.

Track position is king.

He needs to lift his game.

Obviously for us this year
it wasn't the best year we've had so far,

so it was a bit nerve racking.

We had a tough Gold Coast,
tough Sandown as well, some great drives,

but to be sitting here as a finalist,
knowing

that I've got the chance to go out there
and try and back up my championship,

try and have some fun first of all. But,
I don't know.

It's only really fun
if you win at the end of the day.

Chaz Mostert has won
three of the last four races.

Those three were in dominant style.

He's quick on the streets of Adelaide.

Look for him to have plenty of form here.

We've got extremely fast cars.

We've got a crew that's doing some amazing
things in pitstops and car preparation.

I honestly believe that
what we turn to know.

What if we can be a championship
winning team?

What can we say about Broc Feeney's year
that hasn't already been said?

He's got the pole position
record, he's got the race wins record,

he's led the championship
for the majority of the year.

He's the guy that deserves
this championship.

But can he claim it?

Nice work

I wouldn't walk away from this season
satisfied without a championship win.

I wouldn't be happy that I won 13 races
if I didn't win the championship.

So I think I deserve to win
this championship. I work very hard.

I've lost a couple

for the last couple of years
of being close, but I don't think

that's going to get me through
just believing that I deserve it.

I got to go out and earn it this weekend.

When I go out with my mates.

Like the last thing that we're talking
about is racing or what my setup was like

on the weekend. Like
I do like just switching off like that.

And it is good to just go and talk rubbish
with your mates and have a bit of fun.

Casey Stoner
actually bought me my golf clubs.

I think it was my 19th birthday
and thinking I was going to go get

like a $500 set of golf clubs,
and I started fitting me out

with all these tailor
made clubs and Casey’s like yep its all good.

it’s all sorted.

oh my God, terrible.

I've always been a terrible golfer.

My dad's without sounding rude to him.

He's definitely not a good golfer as well.

So I don't think the apple fell far
from the tree there.

But, look, I can have the occasional one.

I've gone through wiser.

I get into it
and fall out of love with that.

But, I'm actually having a lot of fun
tonight because, I can hit it.

This is as good as it gets for me.

I've been enjoying myself
a lot more this year.

Like. And it comes with results.

Like I say, I'm happy when I win
and I'm not when I don't wrap it up.

It's funny how much it changes your mood.

A weekend and pretty down in the dumps
for for a while.

So it's been good just to be a little bit
more busy this year and be more active.

I'm turned up.

I did go through a rough patch last year.

I was just struggling to sort of
get out of a rat

and was just getting beaten by Will
a fair bit.

And I'm just making a tiny queen who's
with the majority shareholder trip,

and he's like,
don't stop believing in that.

Hard work's going to pay off.

Oh, that's right.

Oh yeah.

It's hard

when you're when you're having a shit run
and you'd like, feel like you're working

your backside off all the time
and nothing's really going your way.

It's hard.

But I felt like I needed the big race
that at the end of last year,

and I've been racing more this year,
I think that's definitely a help

like I did.

Did the New Zealand Grand Prix
at the start of the year

and Open wheeler, which was something
I've never done before.

I've never race an open wheel
car and I went, I got pole position

and that probably actually gave me
a lot of self-confidence.

Like I probably started trusting
my instincts a little bit more after that.

And then I've done the GT this year,
like I've just been really active in

what I've been doing.

So I've always been self-critical,
trying to figure out what I can do better.

But that's not something
I've changed this year.

It's something that
I've always done. I've just

it's been good.

It's about I think that's it over.

That's like my pay.

That's, I reckon my record
the best I've ever played.

So on start
that there was a camera here to film it.

Let's go win a race.

To be a supercar champion,
you just have to be fast every week.

Make no mistakes.

It takes dedication, consistency,
lots of sweat.

Tears, sacrifice and belief
that you can do it.

Wanting to be the best.

I'm pretty biased in saying I think it's
probably the best racing series

in the world
in terms of door to door racing.

And it's one big family where we all want
to absolutely destroy each other.

We really actually okay for each other.

Fans.

It is our field of our sport.

We really learned that in Covid
when we had no one coming here.

So what it's like is, it's an honor.

Driving a supercar is manhandling this.

Honestly, 1500 kilo beast.

The cars are very angry.

Yeah, lots of power.

And you got people hitting? Yeah. Passing.

Yeah. In F1.
If you touch wheels, you pretty much race.

I mean, you've had a puncture
or just right in front wing,

but with us where we're just
banging panels for 70 laps, drove

into each others
coming up against concrete walls.

And that adrenaline.

Rush and releases.

Something that you're not going to be able
to replicate anyway.

The noise, the drama.

Look, there's always an aspect of danger,

for sure,
but you don't really think about that.

As a race car drama.

Yeah,
you can't really be thinking about that.

And you're always on the edge.

Chaz Mostert
has done what job on the goldy tonight.

Well and truly in the semifinals.

Yeah, boys and girls.

Oh, I'll get him

on. Oh.

Oh, okay,

here I am. I.

That's why I have a contract.

I think I'm
still pretty young in the mind.

Maybe a bit too much.

Still, racing is hard and probably too
aggressive from time to time.

It's just in my DNA.

But I have my beautiful daughter, Everly.

She's kind of my little secret weapon
in racing at the moment. Got

using beauty where I see not.

She's a really good break from it all.

So I get home and I can just be a dad
and watching her grow up so quickly,

which, all parents had that
it just feels like it's a delivery room.

Just had this little beautiful little girl
delivered into your hands

and now a lock.

She's at 19 months.
It's gone absolutely crazy.

So when it comes to racing side of things,
it's the perfect balance

because I've got so much focus going on
that will just takes

the stress away from racing.

And when they do come to the track,
for me, it's a good reminder that even

when you're not having the best day
on track,

that I'm really having the best
part of my life right now is

about.

The things we love.

Sport can be sometimes very poison to us,
so much like you want it

so much that sometimes instead of

just leaving that at the doorstep,
you just never get away from it.

For me, having little family and all that
kind of stuff, it's the easiest way

just to leave that stuff at the front door
and and it just helps me

refresh and then come back to the track
in a way better mindset.

I'm fine.

Obviously Gold Coast was fantastic,
but we need to keep moving forward.

We need to be still, be aggressive.

If anything, I've got to drive faster now

because I got to think
about school tuition

and all that kind of stuff
around the corner.

So, though I say having
kids will make you lose 2/10 of a second

where I feel like
I got to try and find 2/10 of a second.

So, it's pushing me along pretty hard.

At Championship
goes to some brutal racetrack,

some really challenging racetracks.

But Adelaide is the most
brutal of them all.

It's hard on the driver. It's
hard on the car.

It's hard on the teams to get right.

What an epic piece of road
to decide our grand final.

This joint is brutal.

Come into the the first corner.

You can pretty much lose it all there.

You bounce off the inside.

Can you click the tire bundle and then four
wheel jump off the second kerb

We then pretty much full speed
round to turn 4.

It's quite bumpy.

It bounces around
and your car really moves around.

Head into the staircase.

It's probably the coolest section
on the track.

Right, left, right, right.

As we come on to the back straight,
you know

you got one of the most hairiest corners
that we have on the calendar at turn 8.

There's no room for error.

Having a
few deep breaths, trying to work out whens

my braking point.

Close your eyes and hope for the best
and then fly the other side.

That leads you
to probably the best passing opportunity.

Turn on honest braking on the track.

The last complex

is actually really tough, because there's
a lot of turns that you're breaking into

and really having to flow speed,
which is turn 11.

You might see up on the curve on the
inside and flies in the last two corners.

your tipping it in in fourth gear

Get up on the curb into the last corner.

I think all the emotions are going into
that corner and now you're on a good lot.

You know I need to go deep
but not make a mistake

and get onto the front straight
with a good exit, the finished lap.

Coming to the front straight and fans
around the end of the grandstands.

It's nothing like we say in Australia.

You know,
the closest thing to the Grand Prix

and the feeling is like you're
a Formula One event.

Like it really feels
really special to be here.

So what a

perfect scenario
we've arrived at here four drivers,

two are team mates and two arn’t
think about the advantage

Mostert had.

And Wood goes full defence down the inside.

He's trying every trick in the book.

He's got a bit of a wingman.

Woody Hill that pack up.

He played his wingman beautifully
and now Kai Allen has got a race winner

here at Adelaide Matty Payne in his corner
to be his wingman.

Contrast that with the dilemma
the Red bull have got

two absolute drivers
capable of winning that championship.

And that is going to start
way back in qualifying.

The beauty of our final format
is it's not a one race deal.

There's three races over the weekend,
so you've got an opportunity

if a small thing goes wrong.

That entails strategy,

fuel, usage

car performance, pit stop strategy
not going over the mark.

We've got to crash Jackson Evans.

And he's been biten at turn 8.

Tonight Adelaide's got the name
for probably the most

dangerous corner in Supercars. Oh.

Oh, oh.

Holy.

You've got to try to get as close
to the inside wall as he can to carry

as much speed as he can,
and then flow it right out to the outside.

And the thing is, there is
there's no room for error.

If you're thinking about things
that go wrong, nine out, time out of ten,

they're going to go wrong.

So for me,

I think about race weekends,
about all the things

that are going to go right, like making
sure we get that car as fast as we can

in the first practice and then building
to the next session and one lap at a time.

Grand final weekend.

How is this going to play out?

Mostert’s on a really strong
lap here at the moment.

theyve had kerb strikes

Oh, that is a nasty moment.

And so that has actually ruined that lap.

So turn eight draws another wound.

We saw the replays tonight.
Just run through.

What happened to your point of view?

Yeah, the car hooked up a little bit
too good for me there.

I didn't expect to be going
my first flyer, yeah but ah.

I struggled a little bit
with the balance at turn eight,

but that tire really lived it up a bit,
so, I just might.

I kind of saved that a little bit,

obviously hide the car a bit,
but it could have been a lot worse.

It's time to go qualifying here
to Adelaide.

He's up to seventh.

For us this year.

We've been able to race our way back
into the Final Four.

We haven't qualified the best on paper.

We haven't looked the best.

But at the end of the day,
we have really good race pace.

I like to pride myself in always thinking
that I'm going to move forward in a race,

never give up attitude, and I think that's
what got us to the Final Four this year.

And Brown is now ten.

If there's anybody out there
to complete a lap that could threaten

here, we'll Brown could fall out of this
top ten and therefore not progressing

to the next group.

and Heimgartner is going very fast.

This could change the game and it does

And that punches will Brown down
to position.

Number 12.

Yeah it'll be tough.

Obviously this race is pretty short race.

So that's going to make it
a little bit more difficult.

But yeah just in you know once again
it's three hundredths of a second.

And we would have been in the ten.

So just on the wrong side of it
just didn't, I don't know.

I didn't feel like
I was too bad of a lap, actually.

I just wasn't fast enough.

I didn't think
that we were actually too bad that I think

if we got the extra lap, we're probably
through, like on the first lap.

the rears just go loose, like you cant even push

Because you just come in to one
and lose the rear.

But then on lap two it was good.

Oh well, we are on to the last part
of qualifying to determine

who will be on the pole position
for this afternoon's race.

This has got to be good.

So this year we've
we've just had an incredible year

and a lot of that has been pole positions
and up until now we've got 16 poles

which equals the record of Scott
McLaughlin which was back in 2017.

And three more races to go.

Obviously it'd be fantastic to
to hold that record to yourself.

rubbing on each other into one.

What we've done is we've come out of today
with no real impact.

Although there's been some small variances

We've still got Mostert, we've still got
Feeney, we've still got Allen,

and we've still got Brown with the cars
completely intact.

I just had nothing. I just had no drive.

today was about trying to survive,
but also try and still race as hard as you

can. So, just really pumped the results
start the weekend and get another podium.

Get some points, which was great.

But I was still the same thing still.

So I'm going to do a bit more over
the next two races.

So, so you felt like Broc swerved at you?

That's what I thought at the start, but.

But nothing too crazy.

I thought it was just rubbing racing,
which is what the whole year's about.

So, he had the line into one,
so he had to shuffle me over to try and

make me go the hard way,
which is fair enough.

I would have done the same thing
in his shoes

So hopefully I'm on pole tomorrow
and he's on the outside

and I'll show him what it's like hanging
out there across the curb.

It's always such a big call to go
and do something

so fundamentally different,

you know, for a championship
that's, you know, been at the level

we've been at for the amount of years
we've since we've had the series.

Look, everyone came into the finals
wanting it, understanding

we needed to put on a, you know, a
level of entertainment for fans.

And I think the reaction ever since
has been quite extraordinary.

You know, the way in which the tensions
build in the paddock,

the way in which all the teams
and the competitors have embraced it,

I don't think we could have hoped
for a better change of event.

And so really what it's done is it's just
brought a lot more people into the sport.

So your core fans are always going
to follow your championship,

but it's actually brought
a lot of casual fans and new fans,

you know, into the sport
that I'm just seeing

these live outcome driven events
that you just such exciting racing.

It is an absolute game
on between the four finalists

and it just takes it up into a whole
nother level

and the outcome driven,
you know, races of three,

you know, three races
over the course of the weekend.

So it's really just added up.
You know, it's taken it another level.

So me and Dad been on this journey forever.

I was dirt bikes at the start
and we went in go karting

and he rides the waves as big,

So it used to be him

trying to calm me down sometimes,
and now it's quite the opposite.

I'm like, it's
all good, it's under control.

I got to try and calm him down, but,

yeah, he's the reason I'm here.

I certainly wouldn't be in this position

without him and stoked to obviously
have him here this weekend.

And yeah,
the goal is to to get it done for us.
