[The Journey of Legend]

[Episode 9]

Big Brother.

In our next life,

let's be brothers again.

Tang Rou!

Tang Rou!

How could this happen?

How come I saved Tang Rou,

but he still died?

Why couldn't I prevent all of this?

Miss Tang Fang.

Thank you for your care along the way.

This carriage and horse is a gift for you.

The weather is hot.

Tang Rou should be buried quickly.

Please take him back to the Tang Residence now.

Old Madam Wu,

could you please send someone

to take Tang Rou back to the Tang Sect for me?

There are some matters

that I need to attend to for my family.

I'll need a few more days before I can return.

In that case...

Jiang Yue.

I'm here.

Please make arrangements as Miss Tang requested.

Yes.

Tang Rou.

Let's be brothers in our next life.

Madam, Feng Lang is awake.

Let's visit him.

How serious are Feng Lang's injuries?

The sword wound is deep,

but it missed the vital organs,

so it's not life-threatening.

However, the palm strike to his chest

has burned his heart and lungs with internal energy,

severing all his lung's meridians.

Old Madam Wu,

I can do nothing more for him.

How could this happen?

How could this happen?

Mr. Xiao.

Don't move around.

It's useless.

I suffered a serious injury as a child.

Although a skilled master healed me,

I was left with a chronic condition.

Kang Chuyu's palm strike

must have hit my old injury.

Who was the master who healed you?

We can send someone to find him.

That master is a recluse.

After saving me, he declared our debt settled.

Even if we found him,

he would never help me again.

Feng Lang.

May I ask the name of that master?

If he's from the martial world,

I might be able to help.

That master

was Grand Master Dayin.

But he wanders the world.

No one knows where he is now.

The Xiao family has lost countless lives for me.

Young hero Tang Rou died here.

Young hero Feng is severely wounded.

If you also die from your injuries,

I won't be able to bear it.

Mr. Zhang,

I have a favor to ask.

Please speak, Madam.

Please take the Hero Command Token

and bring young hero Feng to find Grand Master Dayin.

By making the request with the token,

the righteous forces will surely help

and search for him together.

No, I can't allow it. I can't!

Old Madam Wu.

I'm escorting you to deliver this token.

How can I use it for myself?

The Hero Command Token

was forged by the sect leaders

of the Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei Sects.

Its original purpose was to save the country and its people,

punish the evil, and promote the good.

More than a decade has passed,

yet it has brought nothing but bloodshed.

Now, we can use the Hero Command Token to save a life.

This is the true meaning of its existence.

Don't you all agree?

That's right.

-Young hero Feng. -Old Madam Wu.

Please don't refuse.

Mr. Zhang,

would you help me with this favor?

As you wish, Old Madam Wu.

It's a matter of life and death. We cannot delay.

Mr. Zhang,

please depart this afternoon.

Yes.

I thank you for saving my life, Old Madam Wu.

Thank you, Old Madam Wu.

Well then,

Feng Lang, you should rest here.

We won't disturb you any longer.

Let's go.

Old Madam Wu.

I would like to accompany Mr. Zhang

to escort Mr. Feng.

Mr. Feng risked everything to protect Old Madam Wu.

Such heroism

has earned my deepest admiration.

I hope I can offer what little help I can.

Besides, as a woman,

I can take better care of invalids.

On the journey,

I can also be of great assistance to Mr. Zhang.

Since you're willing, that would be wonderful.

Go together then.

Miss Tang.

You have a pure heart

and aren't good at lying.

You are a kind young lady.

No matter what, stay true to yourself.

Father.

Is your injury acting up again?

I was severely wounded by Crazy Yan

[Tang Yaoshun, Head of the Tang Sect]

in the battle at Wuxing Mountain.

Now,

there's no other way.

Perhaps only...

Father, you mean the Voidheart Codex?

The Voidheart Codex might work?

But Crazy Yan disappeared from the martial world long ago.

Where can I find him?

You don't necessarily need to find Crazy Yan.

The Voidheart Codex has resurfaced in the martial world.

As long as it's the martial world's matter,

the Jade Cicada of the Omniscience Door

most likely knows about it.

Father.

I'll search the martial world for rare treasures

to open up the Omniscience Door

and ask the Jade Cicada to speak.

Fang.

In the Tang Sect,

even family members follow the law of survival of the fittest.

I am the family head,

which is why our branch is respected.

If news of my injury

were to leak out,

our branch would be doomed.

Fang, I'm sorry for the burden.

Only by finding the Voidheart Codex

and healing my injuries

will our branch have hope.

Miss Tang.

Go prepare your luggage first.

Let's meet later at Mr. Feng's quarters.

I won't die anytime soon.

Mr. Xiao,

you don't have to keep watching over me.

I should have been the one protecting Tang Rou,

but he died because of me.

Feng Lang...

I just feel you're different from what I expected,

but you don't need to risk your life to prove yourself.

Don't worry.

Since you call me Lucky Bag,

I'll try my best to stay alive.

When you need me,

I'll bring you great fortune.

Big Brother!

Big Brother.

Chaoran said he's going to avenge Tang Rou.

I couldn't stop him.

You should get some rest first.

-Where are you going? -Chaoran.

-Stop! -Chaoran!

You—

Big Brother, don't try to stop me.

I'm going to avenge Tang Rou!

How do you plan to do that?

I'll go back to Huanhua Sect

and kill every Power Gang member I see!

And then what?

I don't care about the consequences.

And then make me watch you get killed by villains?

Make me lose another brother?

But Big Brother...

I can't accept this.

Get up.

Get up!

I can't accept it either.

When I first met all of you,

I swore

to protect everyone.

But I failed to do so.

Brothers,

acting rashly won't help.

The only thing we can do

is to find those responsible.

We must avenge our fallen brothers

and Tang Rou.

Big Brother,

the Power Gang is too powerful.

If we want revenge,

what should we do?

How long must we wait?

I know it's difficult.

But I will make it happen.

Big Brother,

I believe in you.

I believe in you too.

We'll return to help the Xiao family now.

The sooner we resolve their crisis,

the sooner we can destroy the Power Gang

and avenge Tang Rou.

Alright.

The Hailin Sect is far away,

but our western branch borders Chuanjin.

I'll go back now

and ask my father for help.

Uncle Qu Jianchi is also at Sword Manor.

I'll go to the Qu family for help now.

The Qu sisters

can also bring more friends from the west.

Big Brother,

this is my favorite wine.

You can have it.

Take care of yourself.

Alright, brothers.

Be careful on your journey,

lest you encounter that villain Kang Chuyu again.

Speaking of him,

he truly makes my blood run cold.

I can't believe he's the Power Gang's lackey.

To think

we called him Uncle Kang for so many years.

My elders said he practiced

the ice cultivation technique to unleash the Frost Stone's power

in his Sun-Gazing Sword.

His inner energy is as cold as ice.

They wanted me to learn his determination.

It's unbelievable.

Big Brother, it's settled then.

We'll leave now

to avenge Tang Rou as soon as possible.

Big Brother,

take care.

Take care.

Take care.

My elders said he practiced

the ice cultivation technique to unleash the Frost Stone's power

in his Sun-Gazing Sword.

His inner energy is as cold as ice.

Though the sword wound is deep,

it missed the vital points,

so it's not serious.

But the palm strike to his chest

has burned his heart and lungs with internal energy,

severing all his lung's meridians.

I'll treat your illness first.

I'll find another chance to borrow the Hero Command Token.

Old Madam Wu is merciful.

She will understand.

I heard this was crafted by foreign artisans.

It has two layers.

The inner layer holds the item.

The outer layer is filled with liquid gold.

If not for this clever design,

last night,

the Hero Command Token would've been stolen by villains.

Mr. Zhang,

are you opening it now?

After yesterday's fight,

I'm worried the box might be damaged.

If it broke, the liquid gold

could destroy the Hero Command Token.

"Behold the divine token of mystery."

“All heroes shall bow immediately.”

This is—

This is the Hero Command Token.

Let me keep it safe.

You faked your injury.

Mr. Zhang's wounds aren't that serious either.

Old Madam Wu is kind-hearted,

but I've been wary of you all along.

It was indeed you.

So what?

What did you do to her?

Dream-binding incense.

Who are you really?

Fifteen years ago,

you were among those

who destroyed Baicao Valley, weren't you?

It seems I'm right.

Mr. Zhang.

It's been 15 years.

It's time to settle this debt.

It's done.

I'll take this girl with me first.

The rest can be discussed later.

What's wrong with Tang Fang?

She's just sleepy.

Why are you able to get up again?

My injuries are healing.

Shouldn't you be happy about that?

Your injuries are healing...

I am happy.

Kang Chuyu practices cold internal energy.

Your lung meridians were burned.

So, you've been acting all along.

Yes.

Xiao Qiushui.

I'm here to take

the Hero Command Token for the Power Gang.

No wonder you said

the world is united by interests.

So you've been bought by the Power Gang long ago.

Mr. Xiao,

do you really think I've been deliberately hiding this from you?

You've always called me Lucky Bag.

Are you satisfied with this luck now?

Disgusting.

The Xiao family,

the Huanhua Sect,

and your father Xiao Xilou

are the truly hypocritical ones.

You're talking nonsense.

My father is honorable.

He sacrificed himself

to protect others.

You have no right

to judge my father.

He appears righteous in public,

but you have no idea how many dirty, disgusting things

he's done in private.

Your face

is even more disgusting.

You disloyal snake!

Disloyal?

Do you really think there is loyalty in this world?

We made a bet in Lingliang Town.

I want to show you

whether people in the martial world gather for interests

or chivalry.

At that point, you'll see

how ridiculous and pitiful

the Xiao family,

your parents,

and you truly are.

Master,

General Wu Jie's troops will be here soon.

Fortunately,

I have

not failed

Rou's trust.

Xiao Qiushui.

Xiao Qiushui.

Xiao Qiushui!

Master.

Master, if you want revenge,

I'll find an opportunity another day

to kill both of them for you.

Listen carefully.

If you dare harm Tang Fang,

I will take your life.

Forgive me, Master.

I didn't know before

that Miss Tang was so important to you.

I'll give orders immediately

that no one is to harm Miss Tang.

Xiao Qiushui,

I'll spare your life today.

Wait until you see this living hell with your own eyes.

Then

let's see if you still believe in the righteousness of the martial world.

Song Mingzhu.

Now that we have the Hero Command Token,

the siege on Xiao's Sword Manor

will only get tighter.

Once their water supply runs out,

I will personally enter the Sword Manor.

I'll drag Xiao Xilou's corpse to Baicao Valley as a sacrifice.

Yes.

Master.

I know you don't like the bitter taste of the Stone Pine Pills,

but you used the Turtle Snake Hibernation technique

to fake a lung injury,

which is very harmful to your body.

You should take a pill to recover faster.

Song Mingzhu,

you only need to do

what I've assigned you to do.

Don't worry about things

that you shouldn't.

Yes.

Those in the gang who oppose me

must be rooted out one by one.

Otherwise, they'll truly forget

that I, Liu Suifeng, am the Deputy Chief.

Back to the gang.

-Greetings, Old Madam Wu! -Greetings, Old Madam Wu!

Why have you brought an army here?

Where is my son?

Old Madam Wu,

a month ago, the imperial court issued a decree

falsely accusing the General of failing to defend the pass.

They imprisoned him inside the fortress.

We are all the General's former troops.

We left the army and hid in the mountains with our forces.

Rise.

Rise!

You are still soldiers of Daxi.

How could you desert?

When General Wu was here,

we were the swords that protected Daxi.

But with General Wu gone,

they want to reassign us as menial laborers.

Once disbanded,

this elite fighting force will cease to exist.

Only if you save the General

will there be hope for defending Daxi.

The emperor's order

cannot be defied.

Old Madam Wu, you have a noble status.

If you plead his case,

there'll be a chance to save the General from danger.

We await General Wu's exoneration!

-We await General Wu's exoneration! -We await General Wu's exoneration!

Old Madam Wu,

given the circumstances,

please grant their request.

If we send them back,

these hundreds of cavalry will surely lose their lives.

It would be a tragedy for Daxi.

So be it.

Everyone, rise.

I'll risk these old bones of mine

and make a trip to the capital.

-Thank you, Old Madam Wu! -Thank you, Old Madam Wu!

Tang Rou.

Tang Rou.

Your sister will be alright.

Your sister will definitely be alright.

She'll be alright.

I'm here.

I'm fine.

How are his injuries?

Old Madam Wu, his injuries are serious,

but none are life-threatening.

He'll recover after a few days of rest.

Old Madam Wu, Mr. Zhang...

Fortunately,

Mr. Zhang's heart meridian is positioned to the left,

so he managed to survive.

It's just that...

I'm afraid he may never be able to wield a sword again.

[Power Gang]

[Deep Spring Serenity]

Who dares to be so bold?

Indeed.

The Chief is in seclusion.

Who dares to strike the God-Gathering Drum?

[Ju Xiushan] [Power Gang's Water King]

It's me.

-Greetings, Deputy Chief Liu. -Greetings, Deputy Chief Liu.

I've gathered you all here today

because there's something I don't understand

and I need your advice.

While I was tracking the Hero Command Token,

the Sword King's people interfered in Lingliang Town.

[Mo Feiyuan, Power Gang's Herbal King] [Deng Yuping, Power Gang's Human King]

The Iron Cavalry Demon Yan Guigui also suddenly appeared,

[Elder, Power Gang's Snake King] [Chi Li, Snake King Maiden]

disrupting my plans.

[Lord Yin, Power Gang's Ghost King] [Zhao Qiuxi, Power Gang's Blade King]

I want to know

if the Sword King is deliberately opposing me.

Did you receive orders from the Sword King

to intercept me in Lingliang Town,

and send Iron Cavalry Demon Yan Guigui and Kang Chuyu

to steal Old Madam Wu's Hero Command Token?

I... I...

It has nothing to do with the Sword King.

It was me.

Gang rule number 14 states:

All internal orders

must be approved by the Chief or Deputy Chief

before being passed down.

Ju Xiushan,

do you admit your guilt?

The rules also state

that only those of Heavenly King rank may enter Xixian Hall.

Deputy Chief Liu,

you brought this messenger up here.

Aren't you breaking the rules too?

Let's be flexible.

That's right.

We're all brothers here.

-Why... -Herbal King, no need to mediate.

I follow the rules most strictly.

Only those above Heavenly King rank may enter Xixian Hall.

This refers to the living.

Dead men don't matter.

Deputy Chief Liu,

the Eight Kings respect the Sword King above all.

Perhaps we should discuss today's matter later?

The God-Gathering Drum has already sounded.

The Sword King and Fire King haven't arrived yet.

As Deputy Chief,

it's appropriate for me to fulfill

the Sword King's duties.

Even if I've committed some offense,

according to our rules,

I'd only be confined to the Reflection Prison for half a month.

That's just the first point.

Second,

your subordinate, Fu Tianyi, the Iron-Fisted Demon,

extorted money from the Gold and Silver Bank

and colluded with our enemies.

Third,

outside Xiangyang City,

Purple Phoenix and her accomplices

poisoned me first

and then tried to assassinate me.

You can't escape from this today.

Liu Suifeng,

Purple Phoenix is your subordinate.

What does this have to do with me?

Everyone above the Eight Kings

has taken the golden Misery Pill given by the Chief.

If one kills another,

the Misery Pill will break.

The oath-breaker will immediately suffer severe injuries,

and others may then execute them.

You think I can't do anything to you,

which is why you're so arrogant.

But don't forget.

One can attack without intending to kill.

[Li Chenzhou] [Power Gang's Supreme Chief]

Greetings, Chief and Chieftess.

[Zhao Shirong] [Power Gang's Flowing Cloud Sleeve]

The Chief is in seclusion and cannot be disturbed.

Don't you know that?

Chief, Chieftess, I have something to report.

Liu Suifeng has been arrogant for years

and now he's even falsely accusing his subordinates.

Please investigate this matter, Chief.

Both the Chief and I

heard what you all said earlier.

You know the rules of our gang.

Accusations without evidence mean nothing.

I have evidence.

[To Water King]

Everyone, rise.

Thank you, Chief.

This is a secret message from Fu Tianyi to me.

The letter states that Liu Suifeng secretly colluded with

Zhu the Great King from the Twelve Chain Dock Waterway.

But shortly after sending this letter,

Liu Suifeng used someone else

to kill Fu Tianyi.

Now he's instead accusing Fu Tianyi of conspiring with outsiders.

It's clearly Liu Suifeng who wants to eliminate opposition

and seize power within our gang.

Chief, Shirong,

I didn't do it.

Ju Xiushan.

Here.

This letter is full of nonsense.

It's nothing significant.

Yes.

Suifeng.

Chief.

About Purple Phoenix and Fu Tianyi,

you shouldn't blame Xiushan for it.

Yes.

I have something to ask you.

You led men to besiege Xiao's Sword Manor.

Such a large-scale operation

has cost us many men.

What was it all for?

Chief,

it was for the Hero Command Token.

When I learned that Old Madam Wu

was at the Xiao's Sword Manor,

I didn't have time to report this to you

before sending men to besiege the Sword Manor.

Where is the token now?

Crazy Yan,

hand over the Hero Command Token.

[Crazy Yan] [Top fighter of the martial world]

Crazy Yan!

You've killed too many this time.

The token cannot remain in your hands.

Do you refuse to submit?

Even if all 16 sects attack me today,

it'll just mean a dozen more corpses.

Fine!

I'll take you all on today.

If anyone can take

the Hero Command Token from me,

I'll honor them as a real man.

I'll not only hand over the Hero Command Token,

but also give him the Voidheart Codex.

If you can't defeat me,

you'll all follow my orders from now on!
