It seems like only yesterday.

I was just a little girl then,

and the whole world was my playground.

Well, at least, Uncle Paul's ranch

seemed big enough to be the whole world.

I had everything I could ask for.

A lake to fish in,

lots of animals,

miles of beautiful bike trails,

and my best friend to this very day,

Angie LaRocca.

That was a long ride.

Shoo! It's already six o'clock.

I was supposed to be home a half an hour ago.

Can't you stay for dinner? I can ask my mom.

No, that's all right.

My Dad wouldn't let me anyways.

- Well, see you tomorrow. - See you tomorrow.

- Bye. - Bye.

And that was just like Angie.

Always hurrying off somewhere.

Me?

Well, I guess I never hurried quite as much as I should.

You're late for supper, Taylor.

Third time this week, and it's only Thursday.

I'm sorry, Uncle Paul.

Oh, go on and wash up.

Your mother's been waiting for you.

Had I only known then what I know now,

I would never have been even a single minute late.

- Hi, Mommy. - Hi.

You know, I don't think I have ever seen the stars

twinkle as brightly as they are tonight.

Why do stars twinkle?

Every time someone reaches heaven,

a star twinkles.

Come here. Sit down.

Life is so precious, Taylor.

You know, you think you're going to be around forever.

And then one day it's your time to go.

Time goes by very fast.

Before you know it, you will be all grown up.

One day you will get married and start a family.

I don't even like boys.

Well, you will one day.

It just has to be that right, magical one,

like your father was to me.

I wish I could have known him before he went to Heaven.

I wish you could have, too.

Your know, your father was very ticklish,

especially right around the belly button.

Mom lost her fight with cancer

not long after that.

And every year, on every holiday,

I'd go Mom's grave site,

and bring her the beautiful poinsettias

that she loved so much.

Though, I was never sure if she knew I brought them.

There was a young boy whose family worked at the cemetery.

And I can still remember him telling me,

"When you look up into the night sky,

and see the Moon's smile, you'll know she got them."

That very night, I went back to her room.

I looked out the window,

waiting for a sign that Mom was all right.

I didn't have to wait very long.

It's been more than 20 years now since Mom died,

and while many things have changed,

every time I look up at the stars,

I know Mom's okay.

I never thought it could be like this.

Never in my wildest dreams or fantasy did I imagine.

Just take me. Take all of me.

Don't leave anything.

I want you.

I need you,

and I love you, Rudy.

I love you, too, Princess.

Sold for five thousand dollars.

Thank you very much, sir. You are now the proud new owner

of Dolly Parton's bra.

Now, our next item.

Was to have been a night on the town

with Anna Nicole Smith.

However, filling in for the unavailable Miss Smith

is our very own, very lovely, Miss Taylor Monahan.

It's all right, Taylor. Go on.

Now then, shall we start the bidding at one thousand dollars?

One thousand dollars?

One hun... Hundred thousand dollars.

It's a worthy cause.

Yeah.

Very well then,

one hundred thousand dollars, going once.

One hundred thousand, going twice.

- One hundred thousand... - One...

million dollars.

- Beg your pardon. - Who said that?

One million dollars.

I said it.

Is this some kind of joke, young man?

Oh, it's no joke. I'll vouch for him.

That's Jimmy Bailey. Bailey Industries.

Ah, this is Jimmy Bailey, the bartender.

I think I need a drink.

And you are a damn good one, Jimmy, buddy.

Excuse me.

Taylor...

What I have been trying to tell you and...

not doing a very good job of...

is...

I'm Jimmy Bailey.

You're Jimmy Bailey? Bailey Industries Jimmy Bailey?

Yeah.

You lied to me.

Taylor.

That's nice, honey.

Thank you darling. Goodnight.

Hi, excuse me.

Oh, my God, you scared me.

- I'm sorry. - It's OK.

- Can I talk to you for a minute? - Oh yeah, sure.

Oh, you know what? I never had the chance

to thank you for the job. Thank you. That is so cool.

I guess that party the other night

was pretty much a disaster.

Are you crazy? I owe you my life.

If Scott wasn't plastered,

we never would have wound up together.

- You mean, you two... - Yes, we're getting married.

- You're kidding. - No. He gets his money.

I get his money. Everybody's happy.

Well, I'm glad everything worked out. That's good.

Well, not everything.

You know Taylor's moving back to New York?

I think you should give her a call.

She's...

She's in love with Jimmy Allen, the bus driver.

Well, you know, maybe she has got a thing for uniforms.

What?

Come on. Are you crazy?

You are Jimmy Allen. She's nuts about you.

It's a Clark Kent Superman thing, I don't know.

- She's nuts about me? - Nuts.

There you are my fair maiden.

Free from the scourge that enslaved you.

How can you put a price on love?

Fate and humanity had lent a hand.

Not to mention a ring.

We decided to drive cross country.

Though we hadn't even driven five hours,

when we stopped off in Las Vegas.

To place a life-long bet on a sure thing,

each other.

After the ceremony,

we held each other tight, dancing all night long.

It was a special, magical feeling,

as if we had known each other our entire lives.

Then it was onto New York,

where our first stop was at a very special place,

for both of us.

Mom, this is Jimmy,

my husband.

I'm sure you'd have loved him as much as I do.

My family,

Taylor,

they owned this cemetery.

I practically grew up here.

- You did? - Yeah.

You remember

when a little boy said to a little girl,

when you look up into the night sky

and see the moon smile

you'll know she got them.

- That was you? - Yeah.

Yeah.

Fate had once again lent a hand

and now, more than 20 years later,

it was like we'd never been apart.

Then, right then and there,

the most wonderful thing happened.

Meteorologists said it was Hayley's comet.

But then, they never knew my mom.
