photos reveal that beings

from beyond have been

- Several of my colleagues
at the Pentagon believe

whatever these are can operate
in multiple dimensions.

- [Tony] With UFO reports
at an all time high,

we are examining the
most compelling evidence

caught on camera.

Tonight's focus,
aliens living among us.

Our experts will
analyze the evidence

and then pass a verdict.

- It definitely looks
very humanoid in respect

to other aliens that we've seen.

Like a short gray
with a bulbous head.

- There was discussion
whether an alien was using

some technology to
camouflage itself

within its surroundings.

and welcome to "The
Proof is Out There."

Is it possible that
beings from another planet

could already be
walking the earth?

Some people think the
invasion started long ago

and a recent video sparked
a media frenzy when an alien

allegedly appeared of all
places outside a shopping mall.

[soft music]

It's January 1st, 2024.

At 8:30 PM police squad cars
swarm an unfolding emergency

at Miami's Bayside
Marketplace Mall.

It's a chaotic scene

as an onlooker pulls
out his smartphone

and records the
action from above.

Local resident Ryan
Landy was watching

from a nearby balcony.

- We went out under our balcony

because we heard the screaming.

Police cars started
showing up in droves.

People were just screaming

and running through the streets
almost getting hit by cars.

We couldn't figure out what
they were running from,

they were running
for their lives.

- [Tony] This video posted on
the internet shows a frenzy

of flashing cop cars

and figures scrambling
in all directions.

[fast-paced music]

Then as it was posted online,

the video uses emoji
hands to show something

that looks truly
out of this world.

Did you catch it?

The quality of the
video is very poor,

but look, again,
as we slow it down.

It appears to be a giant
figure, larger than the cars

and people surrounding it,
and blurry as if cloaked

or camouflaged and it
casts a large shadow,

which you can see here.

- [Ryan] Watching all of this,
we were just really confused

and really fascinated.

We were just spending entire
time trying to figure out

what was going on and
we really couldn't.

- According to people
online, this footage seems

to show a really tall alien
like figure around 10 feet

or so tall, and they thought
that that could explain

why so many police were
called to the mall.

The clips took off and
were viewed on social media

more than 7 million times.

- [Tony] Media outlets from
around the globe report

on the public's paranoia
over monstrous aliens

on the loose in Miami.

- [Erin] Some think that the
reason we're seeing more

of these aliens is not

because they're coming
from outer space,

but because they've
been here all along.

- [Tony] It's a new concept

involving homegrown entities
known as cryptoterrestrials.

- [Erin] A cryptoterrestrial
is a civilization that

in theory has existed alongside
humanity for millennia.

The idea is that there was
some kind of cataclysmic event

that wiped most of them
off the face of the earth

and the ones that survived
are using advanced technology

that helps them stay
undetected in areas

like the very deep sea
or very far underground.

- [Tony] In 2024,

two Harvard Scholars
published a scientific paper

that claims the sightings

of so-called aliens might
actually be these survivors

of a long lost earth bound
race gradually reemerging.

- [Erin] So some people are
wondering if cryptoterrestrials

are actually making their way
into society more and more.

[futuristic sounds]

- [Tony] There are those
who believe that these

so-called cryptoterrestrials
may have influenced

the human race
over the millennia

as seen through our
mythology and folklore.

Could ancient accounts
of sunken civilizations

such as Atlantis or Lemuria

actually be describing
cryptoterrestrials?

And if so, why would those

that remain be interested
in a Miami shopping mall?

Could we be looking at
some overgrown human

or animal in this footage?

- Just based on the human beings

that we've seen in this video,

it seems like this is maybe
eight to 10 feet tall.

I don't see really
any arm movements.

It almost seems like
it's kind of like wobbly

and going slow.

- [Tony] So could this be
some cryptoterrestrial?

- [Dr. Stephanie] If there were
another species living amongst

us, you would think we would see
some sort of physical remains.

We don't see any
fossils or markings

or anything left behind at all,
and if it was truly cryptic,

it doesn't make sense for
one to be walking around

in such a densely
populated area as Miami.

- [Tony] But what
then was the reason

for this massive
police response?

- [Dr. Stephanie] What happened
at the mall is

that there were about 50
kids playing with fireworks.

This triggered people
calling the cops

and they signaled
a citywide three,

which means that all cops
in the area had to deploy

to the scene to get
it under control.

- [Tony] Okay, so
the police were there

to bust some juveniles.

Then what the heck are we
looking at in this video?

For that answer, we require
some forensic video analysis.

- They put two different
versions of the recording

with these different
perspectives

in the same sequence.

So I applied video
analysis methodology

to compare them side by side,
and when we flip the one

and play them
simultaneously, you can see

that it's the same events at
two different quality levels

and we were able to
essentially debunk

what was represented here.

- [Tony] Seeing the two
images next to each other,

a clearer picture unfolds.

The alien was the police.

- [Michael] It's my opinion that
this recording has been

compressed to a high
degree misrepresenting

what was originally
occurring on the ground.

Whether or not that was done
intentionally, I don't know.

But with a higher
quality version,

you can see the
distinct characteristics

of these three individual
subjects and not one.

And the Miami Police
Department confirmed

that these were three
individual officers.

- Our verdict, thanks to
our expert's handiwork,

we can clearly see

that it's actually just three
officers walking side by side.

Whether it was an intended
prank or not remains unknown,

but the only thing
haunting the mall

that evening was a
round a group of teens

and given a choice, I'd rather
deal with the giant alien.

Bolivia is known for its
multitude of mountains,

its abundance of alpacas and
its cornucopia of cocoa fields.

Well, now we can add
aliens to that list.

August, 2023, a group of hikers

are traversing Bolivia's
scenic Rio Pilcomayo

near the city of Tarija.

One member of the party
stops to take some pictures

and ends up capturing way more

than the breathtaking scenery.

It appears these unsuspecting
hikers were not alone.

Pushing in on the image,

we see a thin, nearly
translucent figure

walking along the riverbank.

It seems to be around
four feet in size,

walking in a strange
inhuman gate.

Eerily the creature's
dead hollow stairs seems

to be directed straight
at the photographer.

Many internet sleuths
believe this photo

helps prove the existence
of the infamous grays,

the most common type of alleged
alien reported by abductees.

- What first caught my
attention is it definitely looks

very humanoid in respect to
other aliens that we've seen,

like a short gray
with a bulbous head

or some type of bipedal
humanoid entity,

and it falls in line
with other beings

that have been reported
under either alien abduction

or some type of a scenario

where an alien has been
seen usually near some type

of a flying craft.

- [Tony] Martell singles
out a sighting from 1978

that occurred in
this very same region

where many eyewitnesses claim

to have seen a cylindrical
spacecraft crash

into the side of a mountain.

- [Jason] Now for South America,
this was equivalent

to a Roswell type event.

Hundreds of witnesses saw this

and even more heard a
sonic like explosion.

- [Tony] Witness
reports of this incident

claim the impact was so violent

it threw people to the ground

and shattered nearby
glass windows.

- [Jason] And you have to wonder
if events like this speak to

why we might be seeing entities
like this walking around

in this location.

- [Tony] Bolivia is also home to
the mysterious ancient ruins

of Puma Punku thought
by some to be as many

as 17,000 years old.

Others believe the intricacy

of the stone cutting
could be the work

of an advanced technology
possibly from another world.

Could our photo be connected?

Let's see what
our experts think.

First, could someone
in a costume be trying

to pull off a fast one?

- [Dr. Stephanie] It doesn't
seem like it's a actual person

in a costume doing a hoax
because the body is too thin,

the limbs are too
thin to be a person.

- [Tony] However,
she isn't convinced

that this photo
is concrete proof

of an extraterrestrial
species like the grays.

- [Dr. Stephanie] Grays are
described as grays for a reason

because they're the color gray

and this one appears to be
translucent, so it doesn't fit

with the definition
of what people see.

According to the accounts that
people have said about grays,

there's been no mention
of light bending

or other sort of advanced
camouflage used by the grays.

- [Tony] Manka also questions
the authenticity of the image.

- What I personally
think happened is

that somebody realized
these kind of look like legs

and then doctored the photos
and added the top part of it.

- [Michael] So the absence of
the shadow of this object in the

area that it was captured
on on the shoreline

as well as the absence
in that reflection

of the the body of water
beneath it is peculiar.

- [Tony] And while believers
of his image claim the lack

of shadows and reflections
could be aspects

of some alien
cloaking technology,

Primo believes this picture
has definitely been altered

in some way.

- So we take a look at the
information within the picture,

take a deeper dive to try
to see if we can detect

any evidence of alteration
or manipulation.

And there's a test that
we run called jpeg ghosts

that will show us
evidence of recompression.

You can see a dip in
the compression data.

This valley shows that the
image has been processed

and the quality has been
reduced at least one time.

- [Tony] So does that
mean it's a fake?

- [Michael] The challenge
becomes with this picture,

because it's been recompressed,

we simply don't know if the
area in question on the creature

was added or removed.

We can't verify one
way or the other,

but I have my concerns
with this picture.

[futuristic music]

- [Tony] Our verdict, we're
going with suspected hoax,

although there isn't enough
technical data to confirm,

we agree with our
experts that there's

definitely something
dubious about this photo,

but rest assured if there are
aliens wandering the mountains

of Bolivia, we'll
find them soon enough.

The idea that UFOs can hide

or disappear to avoid
detection has been a hot topic

among believers for years.

Is alien tech lurking
in plain sight

and do two classic UFO
photos provide the proof?

March 22nd, 1966.

It's a clear morning on Chalk
Mountain in Climax Colorado

and technicians Robert Rinker

and Wilbur Johnson
are taking the snowcat

for a spin snapping photographs

around their weather station.

As far as they remember,
it's an uneventful morning,

but when Rinker develops
the film, he discovers this.

An enormous saucer
shaped object appears

to hover above the mountains.

It has two distinct
parts, a wide domed top

and a ridge wrapping
around the bottom.

What's most peculiar about
the object is that it appears

to be translucent.

- Coincidentally, this
wasn't the only picture

that was taken that year
that showed some sort

of translucent or
transparent UFO.

In fact, in Hillsdale
County, Michigan,

there's another photograph
of something similar.

- [Tony] Just one day before
the Colorado photo is snapped,

the Hillsdale County
Civil Defense Director,

William VanHorn, arrives
at Hillsdale College

to investigate
strange lights spotted

by a group of students.

Their sighting is just
the latest in a wave

of sightings across Michigan.

And when William arrives,

he too sees the strange
object in the sky.

After that, it doesn't take long

for the Air Force
to get involved.

- [Luis] The Air Force conducted
its own investigation

and surprise, surprise, they
concluded it was swamp gas.

So Mr. William VanHorn decided

to release this
photograph in order

to challenge the Air
Force's official position.

VanHorn's UFO picture
was also translucent

and saucer shaped.

[futuristic sounds]

- [Tony] Could these
translucent saucers be proof

of a theory popular
among UFO believers?

- There was discussion whether

or not this was
evidence of cloaking,

whether an alien was
using some technology

to camouflage itself
within its surroundings.

- [Tony] The idea is that
UFOs have the technology

to turn invisible or
cloak to evade detection,

which would explain

why there are so few
clear photos of them.

- [Amy] Could this be evidence

that aliens have been hiding
in plain sight this whole time?

- [Tony] If aliens invisible
to the human eye

really are living among us,

does that mean there
could be one here or here?

And do these photos offer
proof that they've arrived?

Our experts look into it.

Before we stampede towards
some exotic theory,

we ask if this UFO
could just be a cloud.

- My first thought when
I first saw this image is

that we're looking at
a lenticular cloud.

Lenticular clouds often
look like a contact lens,

a concave shape,

- [Tony] Lenticular clouds form

when wind pushes moist
air up onto a mountaintop.

Then as the air cools,
it forms a cloud.

- [Juan] Interestingly enough,
the weather on March 22nd, 1966

showed that the lowest wind
speeds across the country

were right over Chalk Mountain.

So I don't think the
conditions were right

for a lenticular cloud to form.

- [Tony] Plus a cloud
would've been plain to see

for the two eyewitnesses.

So could it be that an
invisible UFO was hiding right

before their very eyes only
to be captured on film?

- If a UFO is visible
only in the UV,

the ultraviolet spectrum,

then we wouldn't see
it with our eyes.

We would only see
it with a camera

that can look at
ultraviolet spectrum.

But this photo was taken
with a Zeiss Ikon camera,

which wasn't any such type.

- [Tony] Then what the
heck is that thing hovering

just outside the snowcat?

Well, maybe it was inside.

- [Marc] This is very likely a
reflection in the window

through which the
photo was taken.

And if he's in a
close quarters cockpit

of a snowcat or something,

that dome light fixture is
gonna be right over his head.

And so he's gonna
probably take that picture

through the window,
lean toward the window,

and then you're gonna see the
virtual image of the cockpit

of light in the background.

- [Tony] And we think
something similar happened

in the Michigan photo.

- [Marc] One thing that tells
you

that it's not something
in the sky is the fact

that the sun is exactly as
far away from the center

as this is away from the center.

That is one of the hallmarks

of the photo artifact
we call a lens flare,

and that's what
we're seeing here.

[futuristic music]

- [Tony] Our verdict, a
reflection and a lens flare.

These weren't UFOs in
hidden light spectrums.

They were tricks of light
in the spectrum we do see.

- [Tony] Although famous for
its natural beauty,

Colorado Springs is also known

for its numerous military bases

like the United States
Air Force Academy

and its large number
of UFO sightings.

Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Josh Stoner is driving when
he spots this in the sky.

- [Josh] That's in the
sky right now, everybody.

- [Tony] Two mysterious,
somewhat menacing objects

hover in the distance.

They begin undulating about
independent from one another.

In the footage you can
hear Josh's utter confusion

and we understand why.

- [Josh] What the
[bleep] are those?

- Whoa, that's crazy.

Both of them look
like they're alive.

It's displaying some tentacles
or limbs or something.

It actually looks like some
type of octopus or squid.

- [Tony] Tentacle
creatures from outer space

are a common theme in the
horror fiction of writers

like H.P. Lovecraft.

Could it be possible that we
are looking at real evidence

of interstellar
visitors from beyond?

- [Ken] There are actually many
reports of what researchers view

to be UFOs that are alive,

unidentified flying objects

that either look like
giant disc shaped objects

made out of flesh, or in
some cases octopus, squid

or jellyfish type of animals

that are floating
through the air.

- [Tony] Celebrated U.S.
astronaut, Leland Melvin,

who has clocked over
560 hours in space,

believes he saw a translucent,
curved, organic looking thing

hovering around the
payload bay doors

during his time on the space
shuttle Atlantis in 2009.

It's a fascinating theory,

but we'd be remiss not to point
out the unique area below,

which is dotted with
military installations

and air force bases.

Could these sites be related

to the strange events
in the clouds above?

- [Ken] In 2019, the military
demonstrated a new type

of drone technology.

Consisting of microdrones,

the drones are a collective
organism utilizing one brain

for decision making, and these
microdrones actually adapt

to each other and
interact like a swarm

or a hive of individual units.

- [Tony] It was
recently reported

that the U.S. is
developing swarm technology

that could be used

to thwart a potential
Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

- [Ken] If the objective behind
this microdrone technology is

to confuse the enemy, then
what a better alignment

than the shape of
a giant octopus

or squid flying through the
air with flowing tentacles.

- Scarily enough, it's
not just the military

that's using advanced
drone technology.

Several years ago, a
drone carrying six pounds

of methamphetamines crashed
on the U.S. Mexican border.

Local authorities said

this was hardly the first
time this had happened.

To find out more about
what's in the skies overhead,

we turned to our experts.

- Using some
scientific methodology,

we can confirm that these
objects are in the air

and are traveling
throughout the air

and we're being
photographed that way

based on the natural movements

of the camera at that distance.

- [Tony] So it's
real, but what is it?

- The problem that I
have with that theory is

that you can see that in some
cases those tentacles separate

from the object and come back.

- [Tony] If we zoom into
the video, we can see

that this may not actually be
a solid singular structure.

- [Marc] You would expect the
alien entity to be cohesive.

And that tells me that
these are separate objects

all working in unison
with each other.

- [Tony] So are they tiny
drones in a drone swarm?

- [Marc] So with a military
drone technology,

one of the things you
would probably expect is

that you'll have one leader
and the others will follow.

But in this particular case,

we're watching the leader
change every split second.

It's changing all the time.

You would expect that there
would be one cohesive leader

with the rest following
in a formation.

This is too random.

We know in nature that this is
something we've seen before.

A starling is a small bird.

In this particular case,

we have hundreds and
hundreds of them.

They're safe moving in a flock.

One becomes a leader one second,

another becomes a
leader another second.

- [Tony] While it still remains
somewhat of a mystery,

scientists theorize
that starlings

move like this in
order to confuse

airborne predators
like the peregrine falcon.

- [Marc] That is something that
looks like this octopus in the

sky to people who may not
know what this is,

and it does look very strange,

but that's what
we're seeing here.

A murmuration of starlings.

- [Tony] Our verdict, a
murmuration of starlings.

This creature looks
so otherworldly

because it isn't just
one creature, it's many.

It wasn't microdrones this time.

But given the Space
Force installation

in Colorado Springs,

we're gonna keep our
eyes on the skies.

- [Tony] Our next story was
one of the biggest

and most controversial of 2023.

It's about alleged alien corpses

and coincidentally it went wide
the same week NASA released

its first UFO report.

Mexico's government took
this case seriously.

Should you?

Take a look.

Mexico City, September, 2023.

It's Mexico's first public
congressional UFO hearing

and ufologist, Jaime Maussan,
stands next to two boxes,

purportedly retrieved
from Cusco, Peru.

- [Tony] A closer look
reveals the extraordinary,

two tiny white corpses
roughly humanoid in shape.

Beneath their ridged
forehead appears two eyes,

a nose and a mouth
with no teeth.

The arms and legs
are both elongated

with three fingers
stretching out on both hands.

- According to Maussan,

these two alien
bodies were excavated

from a mine in 2017 near
the ruins of Sacsayhuaman,

which is near Cusco, Peru,
which actually lies adjacent

to many ancient and
mysterious Inca ruins.

In addition to
presenting the bodies,

Maussan also brought along
an expert to the hearings

who testified that the
mummies had been x-rayed

and that one of the individuals
actually contained eggs

and that both of them had
strange metal implants.

- [Tony] Maussan claims
carbon dating performed

by Mexico's national
autonomous university

shows these corpses are
nearly 1000 years old.

And he says under oath

that upon testing
the body's DNA,

over 30% was of
completely unknown origin

with no match to any
living organism on earth.

- After the hearing, CT scans
like these were performed

on the alleged creatures.

The conclusion was the bodies
belonged to a single skeleton

and that there was no
evidence of assembly

or manipulation of the skulls.

But are the remains
extraterrestrial or not?

Our experts investigate.

Jaime Maussan makes the
extraordinary claim that 30%

of the DNA comes from a
completely unknown source.

Could that mean it's
something extra terrestrial?

- I don't think so.

If it had evolved
from another planet,

we'd expect a hundred percent
of the DNA to be unknown,

even to the fact we perhaps

have completely different
genetic building blocks.

So I think all of these
things point at something

that has been created on earth.

- [Tony] So can we
then identify the 70%

of the remaining DNA?

If the bodies are at
least partially human,

could they be mummified children
from an ancient Inca tribe?

- [Dr. Ed] If we examine the
x-ray, there are lots of

features that tell us that this
isn't a human baby.

The skull has a very
prominent supraorbital ridge,

that's the bony eyebrow ridge
which you wouldn't expect

to see on a baby.

Even looks like there
might be remnants

of ribs further
down in the body,

whereas humans only have
ribs in the thoracic spine.

- [Tony] So instead of a human,

could certain features remind us

of a different South
American mammal?

- I believe that the skulls
likely that of a llama

with its just its brain case.

If you remove the frontal
bones of the llama

and just use what is left of
the brain case,

flip it around and then you can

create something that
has that brow ridge

on what you see the alien.

- [Tony] But the rest
of the x-ray leaves us

with far more
questions than answers.

- [Kathy] Everything about it
is biologically wrong.

These eggs as an example,
extraordinarily large,

and they're not even in
where you would think

the uterus would be.

They're kind of scattered in
the middle of the skeleton.

It's not natural to a human

or other animals that
I am familiar with.

- [Dr. Ed] I think the skeleton
to me just doesn't look right.

If you look at a hip joint, it
looks like it'd be very prone

to dislocation.

It doesn't look like it would
be compatible with life.

Things like that make me believe

that this is not
actually a true organism.

- [Tony] If this
is truly a hoax,

Gerhard says it wouldn't
be Maussan's first offense.

- [Ken] My friends in
the UFO community

were actually very skeptical
when this all unfolded.

There have been multiple
times in the past

when Jaime has presented
what he described

as mummified alien bodies.

In a remarkable
situation like this,

with remarkable
claims being made,

there has to be peer review.

- [Tony] Given the present
circumstances

and what our
experts have to say,

we are calling this
case a probable hoax.

And since we first
started investigating ,

subsequent events
confirm that conclusion.

In January, 2024,

authorities in Peru announced
they stopped a shipment headed

to Mexico of similar
looking creatures.

Forensic experts concluded
those were nothing more

than dolls made of
materials including paper,

glue, animal and human bones.

So no aliens for now,

but when the next
discovery is made,

we will be sure to investigate.

- [Tony] With its warm waters
and stunning coral reefs,

Mexico continues
to be a destination

for all serious scuba divers.

And while encountering new

and unique forms of life
as supposed to be part

of the scuba experience,
could it be a new way

to spot alien life
forms as well?

Scuba enthusiast and Instagramer
Pedro Valencia is diving

in Cozumel, Mexico

when he comes across
something highly unusual.

His camera captures a
transparent creature drifting

through the waters with
an eerie luminescent glow

and a lifeless fish seems

to be stuck in its
neon appendages.

- [Ken] It's not a jellyfish
that I'm familiar with,

it almost has a weird
alien like appearance.

- [Tony] Did he say alien?

As we mentioned earlier,

some ufologists believe
sophisticated extraterrestrials

are operating out
of underwater bases.

But there's another theory

that alien life actually arrived
here in a microscopic form.

- [Ken] So in recent years,
there's been a hypothesis known

as the panspermia theory.

What this suggests is that
life on earth was seeded

by matter from other
planets, other solar systems

that traveled to
earth perhaps hundreds

of millions of years ago.

[explosion sounds]

- [Tony] In 2018, a research
paper created by a team

of 33 scientists was published

in a peer reviewed
scientific journal,

claiming that one ocean
dweller we all know

is a creation of
the space seats.

The investigating team
believed that many

of the extraordinary traits
of the octopus were borrowed

not from some earthly ancestor,

but from somewhere
else in the cosmos.

- [Ken] It has incredible
intelligence.

It has the ability to morph

or change its body structure,
its color and texture.

And perhaps most impressively,
the octopus has the ability

to spontaneously alter
its genetic code.

So these seem like
supernatural abilities.

- [Tony] Likewise, could
specimens like this one

in our video be proof of further
aquatic extraterrestrials?

Several researchers
say the reason octopi

and other cephalopods look

so different from other
earthly creatures is

that this other worldly genetic
mutation may have caused

them to look like
whatever alien species

they allegedly spawned from.

Translation, some aliens
could look like that.

in the fossil record.

They are closely
related to squids

and other groups of cephalopods.

They have evolved very little
in the last millions of years.

of light years through space
in extremely cold temperatures

with no nutrients, no
oxygen, no atmosphere

to protect them from
direct UV radiation

in a vacuum landing on a planet

that they're not even
evolved to thrive in.

And that's not to say
it couldn't happen,

but it doesn't make a
lot of biological sense.

- [Tony] And as for that
strange, unique glow?

- [Dr. Shea] Bioluminescence is
a chemical reaction

that happens when the
bacteria within the tissues

of the organism undergo
an excitatory response

and that movement of
electrons is triggered

and a flash of
light is produced,

which can attract
food items to it.

So this fish may
have been attracted

by these little
flashes of light.

- [Tony] With all our space
alien theories deep sixth,

could we just be looking at an
ordinary jellyfish after all?

- [Dr. Shea] What we're looking
at isn't a single animal.

It's actually a colony

of animals that
have formed together

to create one organism.

It's called a hydrozoan.

- [Tony] Hydrozoans like
the Portuguese man-o'-war

are a multifunctional unit

where all the parts
benefit from the whole.

And discovering one with
bioluminescent qualities outside

of the deep ocean
is quite a rarity.

- [Dr. Shea] Thousands of these
little animals band together

to form essentially
one cohesive organism.

So it is really kind
of something

out of science fiction.

[woosh]

- [Tony] Our verdict, hydrozoan.

This is in fact not one animal,

but a group of creatures
made up of a idarian jelly

and bioluminescent bacteria.

The debate about whether
the octopus evolved

from an interstellar
ancestor is still ongoing.

So we'll keep an eye on the
oceans for any potential signs

of extraterrestrial life.

- [Tony] We brought you stories
of strange creatures suspected

of being alien corpses before.

They've turned up in
Charleston, South Carolina,

Russia's Alma region
and elsewhere.

So when we saw evidence

of another mysterious case
this, time from down under,

we felt it was our
duty to investigate.

March 2nd, 2022.

It's morning in the
suburb of Marrickville,

just outside Sydney, Australia.

After days of
intense rainstorms,

a jogger is enjoying
a break in the weather

to take a run when
something unusual

on the ground suddenly
catches his eye.

It appears to be an
oval shaped creature,

perhaps two inches long.

Take a closer look.

Is that an eye and a tail?

- [Ken] I don't see any scales.
I certainly don't see any hair.

It almost has kind of a
gelatinous look to it.

It's kind of slimy, kind
of pale gray or silver.

- [Tony] In fact, as
far fetched as it seems,

the gray nature and fetal
form of this creature

has someone social
media theorizing

this could be the remains of
a developing alien life form.

- [Ken] Perhaps the last time
an alleged alien baby

made news headlines was in 1996

in the Ural Mountains of Russia.

Referred to as
the Kyshtym Dwarf,

there was a strange humanoid
creature that was found

by a local woman who was
only about 10 inches long.

To this day, many
of the villagers

in this particular
region still wonder

whether it was in fact some
type of alien creature.

- [Tony] We analyzed the
Kyshtym footage

in an earlier episode,

and now with this
strange life form,

could there be a link between
these mysterious creatures

appearing around the world?

[futuristic sounds]

In 1961, astronomer and
physicist Frank Drake proposed

what's been called the Drake
Equation as a way to come up

with a mathematical
formula to estimate

how many other alien
civilizations are out there.

Looking at this,

I don't think there's any
question that it appears

to be some sort of early
stage life form, but what?

And is it alien?

Let's ask the experts.

[futuristic music]

- [Dr. Shea] People might think
this looks a bit alien

because it's kind of gray.

It doesn't look like
it has skin or scales,

but I don't think that's
what we're seeing here.

It looks like it almost
might be something

like a squid or octopus.

- [Tony] But wait a minute,
why would a fetal squid

or octopus be on the road?

It could be a phenomenon
called animal rain.

- [Dr. Shea] These animal rains
tend to happen in coastal

environments where there's a lot
of dynamic weather.

- [Tony] How would
that even be possible?

- The weather conditions
across Australia were very rare

for this time of the year.

That led to above
normal rainfall.

In addition to tropical
cyclones across the region.

- [Tony] Hernandez explains
that the severe weather

could have led to a cyclone
effect known as a water spout.

- [Juan] The updraft speeds

of water spouts oftentimes
exceeds 20 miles an hour.

Given the radar data that we
have from that day in Sydney,

it is possible that this
organism was picked up

and deposited somewhere
else due to water spouts.

But another
explanation is birds.

Birds have come around,

picked up the animal
from the water,

and as they're flying, drop
the animal somewhere else.

But since there is no obvious
injury to this creature,

it more than likely did not come

from a high distance in the sky.

- [Tony] But upon closer
examination, is it possible

that whatever this is, it
didn't come from the ocean?

- [Dr. Shea] I can tell that
this long tail like appendage

is actually likely an
embryonic notochord.

The notochord is the
predecessor to the spine.

We all have this in the womb.

In addition, these kind
of ridges that we see here

to me look a lot
like gill slits.

And that's another interesting
aspect of mammal evolution.

Mammals in the womb as embryos
actually have gill slits

as a remnant of our history,
beginning as aquatic fish.

So I think this is actually
a terrestrial organism.

It's just at a very early
stage of development.

If I had to guess,

I would say this is
probably a marsupial embryo.

Maybe something like
a possum, especially

because this is in Australia,
which really is the land

of marsupials.

Marsupials don't develop
fully in the womb.

At some point they actually
migrate from the womb

to the maternal
pouch of the mother

and continue development there.

So it's biologically possible

that something could
have gone wrong

during the early
development of this animal.

So instead of ending up in the
marsupial pouch, for example,

it ended up in an
unnatural environment.

- [Tony] But how
did it get here?

- [Juan] The atypical weather
conditions that we saw

around Sydney contributed to
significant flash flooding.

And it's possible

that this particular organism
lived somewhere far away

from Sydney and was
deposited in the Sydney area

due to flash flooding.

[futuristic music]

- [Tony] Our verdict, we're
going with a possum embryo.

It seems to us Hernandez and
Conger's takes on what it is

and how it got there, add up,

and unfortunately,
due to climate change,

it also seems that
Australia will see more

and more intense weather
events like the one

that likely washed this
creature into the streets.

If aliens live among us, are
they visitors from the stars

or have they always been here?

With each new piece of evidence,

are we moving closer
to solving the mystery?
