Ruby: Stop that quarter.

- Spatula incoming.

Ruby: Oh.

Um, must've gone under the fridge.

Um.

Ooh.

Daniel: Okay.

You hold one side, I'll get this side.

- No way.

Anything could be under there.

We're not that desperate, are we?

- Are we?

Every cent counts.

Have you seen those?

Ruby: Yikes.

- I second that yikes.

Emily might have worked pro bono

but her legal fees didn't.

It's court fees, filing fees.

- Yeah but I...

[sighs]

Okay, I guess we have to,

unless somehow, someway, a miracle happens.

[sigh]

[phone ringing]

- Hi Paula.

What?

No way.

You are a miracle.

- [chuckles]

Daniel: Unbelievable.

I finally get to use this poster I made

for the benefit.

Seriously, I never thought it would happen.

- Well it did.

I just got confirmation our headliner's on board.

- This is amazing, Miss Price.

Seriously, is there anything you can't do?

- No.

Anyway, I ran the numbers and um,

if we can get a good deal on the venue,

then between that and the merch, tickets, concessions,

we should be in the clear.

Daniel: How can I thank you, for rallying this town,

for everything you do?

Paula: No, that, that's just what being a friend

and a neighbor is all about.

So, let's lock down a location and just get the word out.

Ruby: I'm on it.

Daniel: All right.

[mysterious music]

- Right after this one quick thing.

Daniel: Yeah, you go.

Paula and I have got this.

- See ya.

- The guitar is green, I get it.

Emerald.

- It's emerald.

- Yeah, good choice.

- Yeah.

Woman: I wish we could get back together.

[theme music]

[school bell ringing]

Mina: I wish we could get back together?

So, all I need to do now is play matchmaker.

- Yeah, almost sounds too easy.

Mina: Where do you want to start?

- The desks I saw in my vision are the same ones

that we have here,

only they had a bunch of doodles on it, like this.

- Well, what does that tell us though,

that our wisher was bored in class?

Or...

[sighs]

- She wasn't a student, sounded older.

- Maybe a former student.

Ruby: Yeah, well that just narrows it down

to, oh, everyone who's ever lived in this town.

- Well we still got the toolbox, the rose, and the song.

How did it go?

Ruby: Uh...

[trying to vocalize melody]

Okay, it's so clear in my head but it's coming out wrong.

Mina: Okay, back to the desks.

Maybe there's more in the clue than you saw in your vision.

- Then, let's find the actual desk.

Sam: Sure, but there's a lot of desks in the school.

A whole school's worth actually.

Ruby: So, then we better get started.

Sam: Yep.

Mina: All righty.

Ruby: You guys find anything?

Mina: Yeah, kids here are surprisingly respectful

of school property.

So nothing.

Sam: Nothing.

Daniel: Yep, yeah,

I sent the posters to the printers.

[door opens]

Wow.

It sounds like you've got a small army

getting the word out.

Sam: Hey Mister O'Reilly.

[door closes]

- Yeah,

I just got a couple of new recruits

who just walked in the door.

Okay.

Yes, this is gonna be fantastic.

Thank you so much.

Okay, bye.

- [chuckles]

Never thought I'd see it,

a big-time concert promoter.

- doesn't work out,hing

who knows.

[guitar playing]

- What in the...

Is that Old Tom's old guitar?

[playing guitar]

- Why are you looking at me

like you didn't know I play guitar?

- Because I didn't know you played guitar.

- My mom got me lessons a few years ago

but I kind of bailed, so.

Ruby: Wow, maybe you should headline the show.

Sam: Oh yeah.

Yeah, I'll start them with "Old McDonald"

and then I'll hit 'em with my "Wheels on the Bus."

Crowd goes wild, Sam, we love you.

Ruby: Okay, okay.

Maybe you're not spotlight ready,

but still, you know, you should consider...

Hello, Earth to Sam.

Sam: Sorry, this,

this is reminding me of something.

There's a storage area in the school basement

and there's a bunch of old instruments there.

- And you're what,

considering starting a marching band?

- No, there's other old stuff there too,

maybe even old desks.

Mina: [coughs]

Okay, this place is Freddy-Krueger level creepy.

- It's not that bad.

- Said Freddy Krueger.

Ruby: How'd you even find this place?

- Well, last year I dropped a jar of pickled eggs

out of my locker.

- Pickled eggs?

- Oh gosh, don't ask.

It was like crime scene at the henhouse.

- Yeah, well anyway,

they sent me down here to get a mop

and I found this garden of delights.

Mini: You mean dusty old junk pile?

- Potato, potahto.

- Let's get started.

No way.

Both: What?

- Look.

Music stuff and initials, RC.

- Wait, RC with music stuff?

- You don't think...

- Who are you talking about?

- Rachel Crewe, born and raised in Emerald,

now she's practically almost famous.

Sam: Look.

- Oh, whoa.

Mic stand.

The rose matches my vision.

- That's her trademark thing, so it is her.

Wow, this wish makes a lot more sense now.

- Yeah, I mean, it's gotta be her, right?

Ruby: I guess so, I mean, music stuff.

I, so Rachel Crewe, semi-celebrity is our wisher?

We have to find her, where does she live?

- That's the thing.

I mean, who knows, could be L.A., Nashville, New York,

anywhere but here.

Mina: So, if Rachel is that far away

then, this wish just got really, really...

- Interesting.

Let's do it.

[camera shutter sound]

Daniel: Wait, you're kidding, right?

Please tell me you're kidding.

- Yeah, that's me, a laugh riot.

- You're serious, they cancelled?

- Yeah,

apparently the lead singer has chronic laryngitis.

- Well, maybe he'll snap out of it.

- Snap out of chronic laryngitis?

- Right.

Okay, we just need to find a new headliner,

someone who's gonna be a huge draw,

who's gonna do it for free, last minute.

No problem.

- We already called everyone we could think of.

They're either booked or not interested,

but I, I do appreciate your optimism.

- You say optimism,

I say just this side of full-on panic.

Paula: [laughs]

- [sighs]

Ruby: Hey dad.

Daniel: Looks like we have a little problem.

Ruby: Oh.

Daniel: We have no act.

Ruby: Oh.

Daniel: Headliner bailed.

- Really?

Daniel: Ideas, got any?

- Wow.

Um, okay I'll think about it.

Daniel: Thanks Ruby, bye now.

- Bye dad.

Sam: That's brutal.

You guys were counting on that.

- Yeah.

It could be a bad thing.

- Or not?

I guess it does kind of connect with the wish, yeah.

Ruby: Yeah, so this wish we need to get in touch

with Rachel Crewe, and the show needs a headliner.

- She's kind of out of our league.

I mean, I don't know how we'd get past her people.

- [sighs]

Sam: Actually...

'Kay, there might be one thing that we can try,

it's a long shot.

- Long shot's are my oxygen.

- Well, it's just Rachel's fan page,

sometimes she personally answers messages from her fans.

- You think you can get in touch with her

about the fundraiser?

- No promises, but why not?

- Totally.

Okay, while you do that,

I'll grab Mina and we'll start looking.

- For what?

- Not what, who.

If Rachel wants to get back together

with someone, we're gonna find out who.

- Okay.

[school bell ringing]

- What?

Mina: [clears throat]

- I've got it.

Sorry, um, I just,

I just get really excited about polynomials.

Mina: [snickers]

Ruby: Hi Dennis.

- Whatever it is you think I did,

I definitely have an alibi.

- Actually, uh, I wanted to talk to you about that.

Dennis: My toolbox.

Why, what about it?

Ruby: Uh.

Speed Kings, what's that?

- A brand of oil filter,

and a local indie music sensation.

- A band, really, are you sure?

- Reasonably, since I was in it.

- You're a musician?

- No.

I'm a drummer.

[laughs]

And that right there is Emerald's finest guitarist

slash transmission specialist.

Ruby: Pete?

Uh, does the name Rachel Crewe ring any bells?

- Speed Kings' guitar and vocalist, that Rachel Crewe?

Dennis: She was a superstar even back then.

- Wait, she was in your band?

Pete: Oh yeah.

Yeah, we booked every weekend, we were on a roll.

- Sounds like you had a good thing going.

Dennis: Yeah, like all good things,

came to an end.

- Yeah, that's for the best though.

We were just holding Rachel back anyways.

- Are you still in touch with her?

- Haven't heard from her in years.

- Guess when she got out of here,

she never looked back.

[chuckles]

- So, uh, was there anyone special

in her life back then

who she'd want to get back together with?

- Uh, I highly doubt that.

Dennis: She was driven.

She was all about her career.

Capital A artist, and uh,

there's nobody who's gonna distract her.

- Hey, it worked, right?

Ruby: So, I think I know who the they is,

who she wants to get back together with.

It has to be the band.

- But why?

She's got a great solo thing going.

- Maybe she's lonely and misses playing with them.

You know, they are good guys.

- So how are we gonna work this one out then?

- Uh, how did the message go on the fan page site?

- I don't know, but I laid it on thick.

Told her if she showed up

we'd change the town's name to Rachel.

- [scoffs]

Okay.

I guess all we can do is cross our fingers

and hope that--

Daniel: Yes!

- What was that about?

- Rachel Crewe, she's in.

I'm calling Paula.

- Nice.

- [laughs]

Sam: Do I have anything in my teeth?

Mina: No, you're good.

Sam: Okay, think she's gonna like me?

I don't know why I'm so nervous.

Did I say that out loud?

I'll just stop talking, I don't...

about how it was so the wrong decision.
