Matt had a rebuilt Indian--first bike I ever rode.

He crashed after a party.

the Student Council,Future Teachers of America.

That's how we met.

Yeah, I was failing algebra, and the school

tried to get Donna to tutor me.

I guess you thought of me being

in juvenile hall for threemonths kind of turned her off.

Yeah, I got caught torching a car.

So Donna broke up withyou when you went to jail?

No, she was pretty cool.

You know, she wrote me every day.

But the day I got out, she gave me a letter.

She said, uh, that she'd always love me,

but she couldn't see me anymore.

She wrote it the first day I got into jail.

No, her parents got a courtorder to keep me away from her

and the guy whose car I burned.

Yeah.

He'd been trying to break usup for the past two years.

His name was Jeff Ferris.

And that's the guy she's marrying.

LT. GOODMAN: I want you to tell me again,

does your fiancee have any enemies,

any business problems, any reason somebody

would want to come after him?

DONNA COFAX: No, not that I know of.

I really don't understand any of this.

LT. GOODMAN: All right, look.

Uh, even if he's got somesort of criminal problem--

he-- he's been doing drugs, he'srun hot cars through his shop,

you got to tell us.

The trouble it'll cause him can't possibly

be as bad as the danger he's already in.

DONNA COFAX: I have been livingwith Jeff for three years,

and I have known him for seven.

He doesn't keep things from me.

He's not involved in anything criminal.

And I don't understand whyyou don't just believe that,

and go out and find him.

Uh, Donna why don't we go for a walk

So Jeff felt responsiblefor what happened.
