In 2015,
there were horrific crimes

spreading across South Florida.

The violence was extraordinary.

Brutal murders, home invasion
robberies, drive-by shootings,

random shootings.

I want who did this
to my son to pay for it.

We didn't know who was causing
all this violence,

but they were willing to kill
anyone that wanted

to work against them.

My friend died for nothing.
He died for nothing.

A lot of these victims
were anti-law enforcement.

I had to show them I'm human,
I'm just like them.

One of them said, "I didn't
think my life mattered."

It was heartbreaking.

I get this phone call.

"This is Jessica Box
with the FBI."

And I was like, "FBI?"
What's going on?

This case is my life.
I wake up and I work it.

I sleep.
I dream about it.

I will not stop.

Sit me on the stand.
Give me the Bible.

I'm bringin' my own.
Wish them no luck in hell.

I'm FBI Special Agent
Jessica Box.

When serious crime strikes,
the special agents of the FBI

answer the call.

Fidelity, bravery, integrity.

This is "FEDS."

A lot of people
look at Florida from television.

They see the lights,
the palm trees, the beaches,

and they just think
that this is paradise.

That's how they lure you in.

But once you get
to the heart of Florida,

where the heartbeat is,

this is a concrete jungle.

You got a lot of lions,
tigers, and bears.

So, tread light and be careful.

Everything that glitters
isn't gold here.

As a detective,
you see these violent crimes

spreading out
throughout our county,

and you're starting to feel
like there's some connection.

You definitely fear that, uh,
this is getting out of control.

Coming up through
law enforcement, I worked a lot

of undercover work, but I'd
never seen anything like this.

We didn't know who they were,
but they were

terrorizing the county.

Numerous different police
departments were involved.

Each one had
one small aspect of it

to just-- overwhelming
state authorities.

So, based upon that,
I put out inquiries to the FBI

as to who might be available
to work on these cases.

I was assigned a young female
by the name of Jessica Box.

I worked as an intelligence
analyst for the FBI.

I wanted to do more.

I did not want to just
sit on the sidelines

and be on the computer all day.

And I decided that I really
had to be an agent.

That was really what
my heart was telling me.

So this case was really
what I call "my baby".

It was my first investigation
as a brand-new agent.

Agent Box was faced with
taking over all the evidence

that we had accumulated
up to this point.

I essentially took
a 5,000-piece puzzle

and dumped it
in Jessica's lap.

I was very nervous.

I spent about a full week,
without exaggeration,

organizing files.

We had over 49 different crimes
across South Florida

in a very small
period of time.

I went through
detail after detail,

case by case,

trying to put the pieces
to the puzzle together.

On November 4th, 2015,
a shooting took place

in a garage in a neighborhood
called "Habitat" in Lauderhill.

Inside the garage
was Rodrick McCullough,

a small-time marijuana dealer,

Veronica Gilchrist,

and her friend Donald Johnston,
also known as Eddie.

Eddie was
the neighborhood's champ.

He was just that person
where you could go to him

for anything.

He'll give you
the clothes off his back.

I used to call Eddie
my guardian angel.

As long as I'm near Eddie,

I don't have nothing
to worry about.

That night, a little bit
after 10, I'm eating my pizza.

Eddie is standing
not too far from me.

Rod is close by me.

And he begins to stutter.

And I'm like, "Boy, get the--
get them words out your mouth."

He's, "Stu-stu..."

And I'm like--
but when I look at him,

you can see the garage doors
just, like, lift up.

They came in with no masks.

They came in shooting
with AK-47s.

I was standing in
the middle of crossfire.

I fall, boom,
then Rod falls, boom.

And the last person standing
is Eddie.

I remember him, like,
reaching in his pockets

and pulling out some money
and throwing it, like,

"Get what you want,
take what you want,

so you guys can leave."

And they shot him.

I just remember them standing
on the back of my legs

and shooting me close range
to the point...

your body becomes numb.

I prayed to God, and I-- and I
remember just screaming out

my son's name
and feeling like I let him down.

And one of them came
and said in my ear,

"Bitch, stop praying.
Stop [bleep] praying."

I remember thinking,

this is how you're about to die.
This is how you're gonna go,

riddled with bullets.

One of them walked over,

stood on her back
with both feet,

and pointed an AK-47 down,
straight at her back,

and fired their weapon.

Her back filleted open.

Due to having sclerosis
as a child,

she had a titanium rod
in her back,

and the bullet
actually bounced out,

and she survived.

That is the only reason she is
walking and living right now.

When law enforcement arrived
on scene that night,

Donald Johnston
was still alive,

and he was rushed
to the hospital.

He was the son of one
of our employees

at the Broward Sheriff's Office,
Mrs. Kathy Wilson.

At 11:15, I got a phone call
from one of his friends.

He said,
"Mom, Eddie's been shot."

We went to the hospital.

They took us
to the Critical Care Unit.

He was laying there.

Um...

I can't remember how many
bags of blood he went through,

and they said,
"It's just not staying in.

It's not staying in."

I was talking to him,

and his eyes were
somewhat closed,

but glazed a bit, you know.

And then he started
biting his lip,

and the nurse saw it,
and she said, "Stop, stop, stop.

"We have to put him back under.
He's coming out.

He's coming out."

And to see him
in that pain was hard.

And to see him
like that was hard.

Um...

To know that he was alive,
and he heard me,

and that he was actually
biting his lip.

Don't know if he was trying
to answer me.

That brings me comfort.

'Cause he heard me,
hear my voice.

He heard a familiar voice.

I took a picture of him.

So I got the last picture
of him being alive.

Seeing Kathy and imagining
what it must feel like for a mom

to lose her child

is heartbreaking.

My brother,

it was one of those situations
where he was in the wrong place

at the wrong time.

I wanted to know, um, why him?

With everything that he does
in the community.

He's a good person

and the person that instilled

those morals and those values,
those Christian values in me.

And he honestly, he kept it up
all throughout his adulthood.

So I'm like, why would someone
be gunning after him?

It just-- it just
didn't make sense.

It made no sense why they were
targeting this specific group.

There were not tons of money
and tons of drugs

in this garage.

I told the police I didn't know
who those guys were.

It was around
about $1,200 in the garage.

They left that money
on the ground.

So it's like,
what was the point?

My friend died for nothing.
He died for nothing.

Rodrick McCullough
survived the shooting,

but when we went
to speak with him,

he was very uncooperative.

Claimed he didn't know anything,

and he didn't know why.

So, while processing
the crime scene,

we found multiple shell casings,

but this was a mystery.

We didn't know
who the shooters were.

All we knew was
that there were two gunmen,

and they didn't wear masks.

So, I started looking
through the cases

where there were
a lot of potential eyewitnesses.

On October 3, 2015, there was
a peewee football game.

It was a park
in Lauderhill Lakes,

just like a typical
Saturday afternoon.

At the time,
there was hundreds of kids.

Peewee football games
were actively going on

with their parents
and everybody watching.

I was told that there was
over 300 people here.

On that date, several gunmen
walked into the park

in broad daylight
with no face coverings,

nothing to hide their identity,

walked up to a father
who was with his children

and shot him point-blank.

They stole his money
and they ran back across

into their car and took off.

They shot Zoe Gotti
twice in the stomach,

but miraculously,
he was able to survive.

I spoke to so many people
on the street

who were reluctant
to talk to me.

Out of 300 people,
not one person came forward

to say what they saw.

No one wanted to talk
to law enforcement.

That was the first time
I realized

how hard my job was gonna be

if no one would step up and say,

"These people shot someone
in broad daylight,

and my children
were running around."

But I started to see
there was a clear pattern.

Zoe Gotti and Rodrick McCullough
were both people that had

a reputation to deal drugs
in the Dania Beach

and Hollywood area.

What we realized is that
these gunmen were specifically

targeting drug dealers
and people that they perceived

to be law enforcement
unfriendly, so that these people

wouldn't testify against them.

We noticed this pattern
over and over again.

And, as time went on, I found
a connection that would change

the course of the entire
investigation.

On November 3rd, 2015,
myself and my partner,

Walt Foster, we got notified
by supervisors

of a home invasion, uh, robbery,

where one of the victims
had been shot.

By the time we arrived
on the scene, the victim had

already been transported
to the hospital.

AJ Bosfield was one
of those kids that grew up

in a bad environment.

He was one of those kids
that you thought

you could change him
if you gave him some options

and talk him out
of being on the streets.

From what we were told
from the witnesses on scene,

Mr. Bosfield was cooperating.

It didn't matter to them
that he was cooperating.

He was still placed
onto the ground

of the bedroom
and shot.

He was pronounced deceased
at the hospital.

He was not a threat to anyone,
and he was executed

by-- by these robbers.

This murder took place
24 hours before the murder

of Donald Johnston.

We knew that we were dealing
with criminals that were out

for more than just product.

They were looking to make a name
for themselves,

and they were looking
for street credit.

There were drive-by shootings
happening on what seemed

like a daily basis.

It was clear this was not
the works of just a few gunmen.

We were dealing
with a gang working together.

They were spreading
across South Florida.

We didn't know
how far extended,

but we knew
we had to do something fast.

At the AJ Bosfield homicide,

we found two
...380 cartridge casings.

I went through every piece
of evidence across many cases

from each crime scene
that had casings.

And I found
a very likely match.

This was the residence
of Cory Billings.

Cory Billings was
a known drug dealer

in the Hollywood area.

On November 25, 2015,
the car parked

right where we are.
Two gunmen went inside.

The Cory Billings
crime scene was so heinous.

I mean, Cory Billings
was laid out on the floor,

shot several times in the head.

There were nine handgun casings,
and eight were a .380 caliber.

As law enforcement went in
to clear the residence,

they discovered that there was,
in fact,

a robust security system
in place.

We knew we needed to see
exactly what footage was on it,

as quickly as possible.

When Hollywood told me they had
video of the Cory Billings

home invasion robbery,
I was very excited.

To say the least,
I thought this could be

the breakthrough in the case.

I dropped everything,
got everybody together,

and had a TV set up
for them and everything.

But when they played the video,
I realized that this was a video

that I wouldn't want
anyone else to watch.

The violence and the nature
of this crime

was absolutely ruthless.

You can see Cory Billings
walk out a customer.

The first gunman comes in.

And shoots at Cory Billings
and the dog.

You see the second man come in.

They're searching the house.

We're assuming he's asking
Cory Billings,

"Where's the money,
where's the drugs?"

And in the corner here,
you can see

that the first gunman is
searching through the kitchen.

As the first gunman walks out,
he's trying to clear

what we think is a jam
in his firearm.

And Cory Billings,
we assume,

thinks it's safe to get up.

But the gunman tells him
to get back down.

We think Cory Billings
was laying on the ground,

clearly obeying the orders
that he was given,

probably pleading for his life.

And he's just shot,
as he's laying there.

Cold-blooded execution.

Cory Billings was severely
brain damaged

and sadly passed away, 2024.

While the video was a great
breakthrough in our case,

it's also torturous
because the video

was grainy enough
to where we couldn't 100%

positively ID somebody enough
to place him into custody.

When you go
through a video like that

for evidentiary purposes,

you slow it down
and you go through it

frame by frame by frame.

Eventually, we picked up
little nuances.

We saw that the second person

was possibly communicating
with somebody outside

as he would occasionally
turn his head.

We could see that there was
a third person

standing in the doorway.

We couldn't see who it was
at all, just a shadow.

Hollywood Police Department
went and recovered fingerprints

from that doorway
and sent it to the lab.

One of those fingerprints
came back for a positive hit

on Eric Hunter.

Eric Hunter was very well known

on the streets of South Florida.

He'd been a thorn in the side
of law enforcement

since he was an adolescent.

When I went
through his social media,

it was clear that he had
a group following.

From there, we started
to build our network

of potential gang members.

Just spun that guap
at Wendy's, man.

[bleep] real hungry, man.

I went and collected information

on literally
over a hundred people.

But the same three people
were always together.

Eric Hunter,

Derrick Slade,

and Marcello Gordon.

It was easy to see
that they were

the three pieces of glue
that held this gang together,

and that Eric Hunter
was most likely the leader.

We hit the streets

and we talked
to a lot of people.

They were telling us that,
even as a young kid,

he wanted to control people.

He wanted to call the shots.

Eric Hunter had this reputation
that he was untouchable.

The word on the street was
that he must have had

black magic promoting
and assisting him.

We were told that there was
a woman who practiced voodoo

in a storefront.

And these gang members would go
to her to ask for her blessing

and protection
from law enforcement.

We had to find a way
to stop Eric Hunter.

A partner of mine and myself,

we drove around to see
if we could locate

any local gang members
we could talk to

to kind of give us some insight
into some of the crimes

that were occurring.

We observe what we believe
to be a hand-to-hand

narcotics transaction take place
with a vehicle,

so we decided
to stop that vehicle.

There's a small turn lane
right up here by this light,

and that's where we conducted
the traffic stop.

On approach to the car,
my partner took

the driver's side window,

and I took the right-rear
passenger side.

At that point,
we asked for compliance.

"Show me your hands,

put your hands
on the dashboard."

We just wanna see their hands,

to make sure they're not
gonna hurt us.

The front passenger
and the driver

immediately complied.

The person in the back
behind the driver,

uh, was not complying,

was just kinda pretending
he couldn't be seen.

I continued to address him.

I said, "Show me your hands,
show me your hands."

He still didn't comply.

I heard my partner ask

for driver's license,
registration,

just like any other car stop.

And I heard the driver say,

"You know me, I'm Eric Hunter.
I don't have my ID."

And at that point,
I knew this car stop

was gonna get a little hairy.

To say...

I was nervous
would be an understatement.

I felt that this male passenger
in the backseat

had a gun in his lap

and I felt that he was
getting ready to kill me.

I am so convinced
that this subject has a gun,

and that we're about to get
in a shooting,

that I point my gun at him

and I begin telling him
that if he doesn't show me

his hands,
I'm gonna kill him.

He still does not comply.

I can see the muscles
in his hands moving.

I can see the muscles
in his forearms twitching.

I feel like he's maneuvering
the weapon to a position

where he can shoot me.

At the same time,
I am also positioning myself

to where I can get
a clean shot on him

that I start squeezing
my trigger.

And I let him know one more time
to look at my weapon,

to look at my finger, to see
that I'm squeezing the trigger,

and to know that
I'm about to shoot him.

I thought
I was gonna get shot.

I took my body armor
and I pushed it into the window

so his only shot was gonna be
on my body armor.

At that time,
our backup started arriving.

We had multiple
police cars showing up.

He showed me his hands,
but I could tell

he kinda
a sleight of hand.

Whatever he was holding
in his hands,

he moved
and kept under the hat.

I said, "Get this guy
out of the car

and handcuff him."

I was able to search the car.

First thing
that I went to look for

was to confirm my feeling,

and I lifted the hat
off the rear passenger seat,

and I saw a .380 black
Beretta handgun.

They say when something's about
to happen in police work,

the hair stands up on your neck
and stuff, and I knew I was

very close to getting
in a shooting that night,

possibly being shot.

Eric Hunter
was arrested that night

for possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon.

Eventually, we identified
the male in the back

of the vehicle
as Derrick Slade.

Derrick Slade was convicted
of a homicide when I believe

he was 14 or 15 years old.

His nickname was "Soldier,"
and he was known

to be extremely violent.

Being face-to-face
with a cold blooded killer,

I was definitely lucky to get
out of there, but I was also

elated because I thought
this could be the gun

that could break
this case wide open.

Once I got the firearm,
I was able to send that,

along with the casings from each
crime scene, to the FBI lab.

They were able to link it

to the Cory Billings
attempted homicide,

the AJ Bosfield homicide,

as well as many different
drive-by shootings,

that had happened
all over South Florida.

So this was
a huge breakthrough.

Once we had Eric Hunter
and Derrick Slade locked up,

while you wanna have
a sense of elation

that they're off the street
and you feel like

you've accomplished your goal,

this is really
the beginning of the case.

Eric Hunter is in jail,
but he has connections

outside of jail.

The other gang members
were still targeting victims

on his orders.

And if we didn't do something,
he was gonna get time served

and just walk out of jail.

I sat down and explained
to my boss,

"I'm not only gonna put
these guys in jail

"for a few months,
these guys are gonna go to jail

for the rest of their lives."

To take them down,
we had to prove that they were

an organized crime group.

We have to show
that they worked together,

that they shared
the proceeds of their crimes

and worked in unison
to commit these crimes.

And that's all part
of a RICO case.

RICO was originally designed

to be used against the mafia.

For the first time ever,

the reputed heads
of all five crime families

in our town were hauled
into court on one indictment.

The RICO statute allows you
to present in court

evidence of a bunch
of different crimes.

It is literally
an organized crime statute,

but it's hard to do.
It's rarely done.

I was working with Paul Schwartz
and Jeff Kaplan,

who are legends.

Usually, we're the ones
asking the questions.

They're known for doing
big RICO cases.

They are known for being
aggressive and not stopping

until they get
their guys in jail.

In order to build a RICO case,
you need to explain this group.

In this particular case,
we really couldn't do it

by just circumstantial evidence.

Extremely difficult scenario,
no cooperators,

no undercover agents,
no victims, nothing.

We were concerned
that Special Agent Box

was somewhat inexperienced.

But as time progressed,
Jessica Box found a way

to get things done.

I spent upwards of a year
going through social media

and cellphones, thousands,
if not more, images and messages

back and forth.

I needed information to show
that they worked together,

that they were an organization.

When I found a new piece
to the puzzle,

I would get so excited.

Jessica showed me
social media posts

from these gang members,
ended with the word "onsight".

And the derivation of that

is that they will
kill you on sight.

And so, any piece
of information

where they used
the word "onsight,"

I was able to take that
and show that they are part

of the Onsight Gang.

We had a list of over
100 main subjects

that we're concerned
about were part

of this violent group.

So, we had
significant information

to explain the existence
of this gang,

but nothing significant enough

to place him in prison
for any length of time.

As time went on, I was under
pressure to finish the case.

But we ran into roadblock
after roadblock.

It was very frustrating
as a mother.

At that time,
there was no closure for me,

because...

I didn't know
where we were going

with this case.

The people that killed my son,
I want them to be accountable.

There's a reason we have laws.

Laws are supposed
to protect the innocent,

not protect the guilty.

At this time, we still
hadn't built the RICO case,

and we didn't have
enough evidence

to hold Hunter any longer.

He drove around the community
very boldly.

He was willing to kill
anyone that wanted

to work against him.

One night, we went to church.

We were coming home,
and we were making a left

onto our street...

and a car came next to us.

And I looked at my husband,
and I looked at the car.

He was going...

same speed.

It was, like, right next to us,
and he just looked at me,

and I looked at him.

And then he went away.

And I remember writing down
the tag number

and calling the detectives.

I got a phone call back
later on that night telling me,

"Kathy...

this is one of the guys
that's involved with this case."

It just-- it sent chills.

It sent chills.

Kathy Wilson had a legitimate
reason to be concerned

'cause Eric Hunter
is very dangerous.

Some people literally
packed their entire family up

and moved out of Florida
because they were mentioned

on a Facebook post
by Eric Hunter.

They were shooting
at people's homes.

I was scared for my family.

Eddie, he died
November 4th, of 2015.

Every year, I go out
to the garage where it happened.

I light a candle.

I play some of the songs

that we used
to listen to every day,

and I'll sit out there
for a few hours.

Pay my respects...

and to just give thanks
and honor to Eddie

for being such a real person
and a good friend.

Two years passed.

In regards
to the Police Department,

I was like,
"They'll never figure it out

"because anything
that's going on in the ghetto...

they don't really care."

It's how we're raised,

it's what we're taught,
and it's what we know.

So I kinda--
I gave up on them.

By this point,
we were running out of options.

I was told that to keep
the case alive,

we need someone on the inside.

We need somebody
to explain to us

their organization.

You need somebody to talk.

Anyone that knew
these gang members,

I'd always ask them,

"Who do you think would be
the first to talk to me?"

Without a doubt,
everyone named Marcello Gordon.

Marcello Gordon
was a lifelong criminal,

mostly violent crimes.

Jessica Box had her laptop
and showed him

all the evidence that we had.

You could tell that he was
seriously thinking about it.

We spoke to his mother.

Uh, we explained
just how much trouble he's in

and how he's looking
at the rest of his life in jail.

And still, he refused.
It was devastating.

Just a couple days later,
we were listening

to Marcello Gordon
and Derrick Slade's jail calls.

We would monitor calls
that were taking place

between our suspects
and people on the outside.

The Onsight Gang were trying
to find information

on Special Agent Box.

It was clear that Eric Hunter
and the Onsight Gang

had my name.

Is he looking for my address?

Is he looking to come get me
and do a drive-by shooting?

I was really fearful
of what might happen.

One day,
I get this phone call.

"This is Jessica Box
with the FBI."

And I was like, "FBI?
How you get my number?

"Why you got my number,
and what's going on?

What did I do?"

When we first started
the investigation, I was told,

"Don't bother talking
to Veronica Gilchrist."

They said, "She's
anti-law enforcement.

She won't work with you.
She won't help you."

In the Donald Johnston
homicide, we still didn't know

who the shooters were.

So, I finally decided,
"Let's go talk to her.

What's the worst
that could happen?"

When I pull up, I'm literally
looking for this big six-foot

Harley-Davidson riding lady
with probably a buzz cut

or a mohawk.

And I got this little bitty
lady, 120 pounds soaking wet.

And she looked like she makes
the best gingerbread men.

I remember the day so clearly.
She walked in, polite,

kind,

and then tearful.

She told her story.

I presented pictures of
the main subjects of the case.

We came to Eric Hunter.

I was like,
"He look familiar."

And I sat there and I thought
about it long and hard.

I remember he actually came
to the garage to buy weed

at least three separate times.

But it didn't dawn on me that,
like, he's in here

casing the place.

Agent Box asked me,
did I wanna testify?

Eric Hunter and the Onsight Gang
had a long track record

of intimidating witnesses.

He did multiple
drive-by shootings on people

that he thought
would testify against him.

Veronica knew
this was very dangerous.

If that's what I could do,
to pay Eddie back, I was ready.

Sit me on the stand.
Give me the Bible.

I'm bringin' my own.

I wanna put them away,

um...

for the rest of their life
and the afterlife.

So, yeah...

She was just so brave.

And I was so inspired by her.

And I think it's a lesson
all of us need to have is,

you always get back up,
even when you're shot down.

So I went back and looked
at the Donald Johnston homicide.

Inside the garage,

we found multiple AK-47
cartridge casings.

But outside, we found
a single 9 millimeter casing.

While all of the shooting
was happening in the garage,

one gunman was
standing outside.

I realized that this was
actually very similar

to the Cory Billings
attempted homicide,

where Eric Hunter
was standing in the doorway,

and 9 millimeter
cartridge casings were found.

So I started looking back
through any photos

of Eric Hunter
taken around that time.

As I dug deeper,
I found a picture

on Derrick Slade's social media.

Eric Hunter is holding
two liquor bottles

and appears to be celebrating.

This photo was posted
just mere hours

after the Cory Billings
attempted homicide.

Then I go on
to Derrick Slade's cellphone

and look through the photos
from that same night,

and lo and behold,
I find a very similar image

of Eric Hunter holding
the two liquor bottles.

But one major thing
is different.

There was
the 9 millimeter gun

lying right next to him.

Of course, Derrick Slade
was smart enough

not to post the image
of the gun,

but the pictures
are almost identical.

You can actually see
from the timestamps

that they were taken
just minutes apart.

It was heart-wrenching to know
that they could attempt

to kill somebody...

...and later on, not only
celebrate, but post it

to social media
in a bragging way.

That picture was a key piece
of information to show us

that that gun was in fact
with them that night.

But we had to develop evidence

as to who actually
fired those shots.

Because the clarity of the video
was not very good,

we sent it
to a movie production company,

who tried to enhance it.

It was much clearer.

If we can identify
one of the individuals

depicted in there, it would
certainly increase the pressure

on them to cooperate and give us
the structure of the gang.

The first suspect that came in
and shot at the dog...

got a clean shot of his face
right under a light.

He had a very identifiable
cross tattoo on his forehead.

And I knew right then,
it was Marcello Gordon.

Unless
Marcello Gordon cooperated,

I knew that we would never get
a RICO case.

I knew that the rest of the guys
would walk out of jail

and commit murder again.

We went over to the jail

and we showed him the videotape.

We explained to him
that we thought

it was overwhelming evidence,

and that just that alone
is gonna give him

a life sentence.

He teared up.

He was very emotional
about watching it,

um, and still refused
to talk to us.

I looked at him in the eye,
I said, "This case is my life."

I sleep and think about it.
I dream about it.

I-- I wake up and I work it
all the way

till 10 or 11 o'clock at night.

This is all that I do.

Marcello Gordon
decided to cooperate.

He opened up to us
and began to reveal

the missing pieces
of the puzzle.

He was able to show
how Eric Hunter

would give them guns
or tell them who to rob.

"Hunter was the leader.

"Derrick Slade
and I were the enforcers.

We had other individuals
who would help us out."

He described
who those individuals were.

And they would share the loot.

He told us the Onsight Gang
was responsible for the murder

of Donald Johnston,

AJ Bosfield,

the attempted murder
of Cory Billings,

and Zoe Gotti.

It's almost like you have
this kind of iceberg,

and all of a sudden
it starts breaking to pieces,

and it just makes it easier
to get the next person and say,

"Hey, Marcello Gordon's
cooperating, you're in trouble."

It's ironic
how a gang that built

their entire reputation
on targeting victims

that they didn't think
would work with law enforcement

ultimately flipped

and decided to not only talk
to law enforcement,

but also get on the stand
and testify

against one of their own.

Part of a vicious gang,
responsible from everything

to home invasions to murders.

That's how the feds described
these men who are now facing

federal charges tonight.

You look at them and...

they could be anybody's son,

anybody's brother.

It's not until...

they opened their mouth
and they started speaking.

And they talk
about everything they've done.

I don't hate.

But I do recognize hatred,
and I do recognize evil.

Marcello Gordon told us

at the Donald Johnston homicide,

when they approached the garage,
Hunter was outside,

and that they started
opening up the garage.

Slade was just shooting.

And Slade was the one who shot,

um...

Donald Johnston.

I want who did this to my son
to pay for it.

Veronica stood up in court
each time and faced the people

that literally gunned her down.

And I cannot imagine
how scary that must be.

Uh, their families were sitting
in court behind them.

And I'm sure she was worried
about retaliation.

But she stood there
and let the court and the judge

know exactly
what she went through.

I spoke my piece
and wish them no luck in hell.

Gordon was sentenced
to 34 years.

Derrick Slade was sentenced to
two life terms, plus 30 years.

In Eric Hunter's case,
he got 39 years.

If it wasn't
for Special Agent Box,

I don't know that we'd be
sitting here today.

When this case looked
like it would stall,

and we had nothing,

she had that tenacity
and that drive

to continue to work this case,
year after year after year,

to bring so much closure
to a lot of victims

and justice for their families.

Give me a hug.

It's been so long.

You've made my job worth it.

Any moment when I am
questioning or I'm tired

or I don't want to keep going

or I don't want another case,

I think of you.

I have a different outlook
at, you know, dealing

with law enforcement now.

I know it was
sleepless nights.

I know times where you probably
did just wanna give up,

but you never gave up on...

I feel like you didn't
give up on me.

Now I can sleep
peacefully at night.

And I just thank you for that.
