The way I look at it is once a man's

it's not right for him to go on stewing about it.

considering you could be

I realize he's your friend,

and I can't blame you for wanting to help him,

this fellow Gleason said.

in a range war in Montana a few years back.

It all started over a horse

and whose corral he belonged in.

Everybody was so sure they were right.

When the smoke settled, four men were dead,

and it turned out the horse belonged

to a traveling salesman that had gone fishing.

Emotional people often make mistakes.

You see, I'm just not an emotional person.

I believe that,

and I don't doubt you're honest,

but this happened over a year ago--

That comes mighty close

to tampering with a witness, I'd say.

Nothing has been said that has changed my...

mind in the slightest.

I saw Mr. Trampas shoot Mr. McGowan,

and I intend to swear so in court.

It was very well covered up during the robbery.

There was nothing wrong with his legs.

He had hung on to me

and lived off of me for 12 years.

When he died,

my conscience died with him.

worse than any person you ever heard of.

pretend some long-lost relative died
