=Episode 22=

Xie Yi just went for a tooth extraction.

I'm sure she can't make it.

So I need to accompany her more.

Si Xie Yi went to visit Xie Qing?

What's their relationship?

I don't think this is

a secret anymore.

Xie Qing is Xie Yi's elder sister.

Actually, Xie Yi

is Uncle Shen's biological daughter.

What?

Xie Qing was actually adopted.

Xie Yi went overseas

together with her mother when she was young.

That's why only a few people know about this.

Uncle Shen had told his wife as well.

If there are two children,

one of them will have his surname.

The other one will have his wife's surname.

After they

adopted Xie Qing,

Xie Yi had her mother's surname.

It's getting late.

I'll be off first.

Alright.

Su Xie Yi

is the daughter of Shen Zhi Hong?

Come in.

What's the matter, Chu Chu?

I have a question.

And I think it's better for me

to ask you directly.

What question?

Back then, when you told me

to fire Su Xie Yi,

you said it was because of your relationship.

That wasn't true, right?

Why are you suddenly asking this?

I just got to know

that Su Xie Yi is Shen Zhi Hong's daughter.

If that's the case,

I think I know why

she did what she had done

when she joined Ocean Hotel.

So...

I wish to know the true reason

behind her sacking.

If you can't say it out,

I'll say it out for you.

Back then,

when Zhiwei Corporation

cooperated with us,

as they were suspected of commercial fraud,

they had no choice

but to compensate Ocean Hotel with an exorbitant price.

And this was the main reason why Zhiwei Corporation went bankrupt

and why Shen Zhi Hong

committed suicide.

And you,

you were the person in charge of the project.

That's right.

When Xie Yi first joined Ocean Hotel,

she did so to investigate the truth.

Of course,

that includes investigating me.

So

she had an ulterior motive

for approaching you in the first place.

That's the true reason

behind her sacking, right?

Chu Chu,

this case is very complicated.

On the one hand,

I don't want her

to disrupt my plan on how to deal with Huo Jian.

On the other hand,

I do feel guilty

when Uncle Shen committed suicide.

I asked Su Xie Yi to leave the company

in order to protect her.

Li Ze Liang,

you're actually

trying to protect a woman who suspected you

and even tried to harm you?

Our relationship started

before the incident

with Zhiwei Corporation.

That's why

our relationship is sincere and pure.

We've investigated the case.

Huo Jian was the mastermind.

But Zhiwei Corporation was purchased

by Ocean Hotel after all.

And Huo Jian

is your uncle.

How could you be sure

that she has forgotten about her initial motive?

Chu Chu, I understand.

I know it's difficult

for you to trust

Su Xie Yi completely.

That's why,

you just

need to trust my judgment.

Ze Liang,

I hope that you won't let your relationship

blind your judgment.

No matter when it is,

you should leave some leeway for yourself.

It's because your interest

is Ocean Hotel's interest.

And Ocean Hotel's interest

is the interest

of me and all the other employees.

I know that.

I'm glad that you know that.

Mr. Xie, this way, please.

Please wait a moment.

Mr. Dai,

your client is here.

What kind of lousy rod is this?

Get me a telescopic fishing rod!

I want to catch a big fish.

Mr. Dai, you're using a telescopic fishing rod.

(Zhengde Group's General Manager, Dai Zi Ang)

What did you say?

I'll remember that. I'll change it for you next time.

Go now.

Mr. Xie,

it's been a while.

Yeah.

Mr. Dai, looks like you're enjoying yourself.

Mr. Xie,

I once admired you.

But you just had to work for Ocean Hotel.

I heard that you wanted to cooperate with me.

Do you think

I will use the same lawyer

as Ocean Hotel?

That's right.

Zhengde Hotel

has always been at odds with Ocean Hotel.

Ocean Hotel won against Zhengde Hotel

in the case with Fujiade last time.

Mr. Dai, I'm sure you won't just lie down

and take it in.

Are you teasing me?

Mr. Dai,

I'm glad that you're angry.

Zhengde Hotel

has been suppressed by Ocean Hotel for many years.

I couldn't stand it any longer.

What do you plan to do?

You wish to topple Ocean Hotel even in your dreams, right?

I can help you out.

You?

Me.

Mr. Dai,

the chairman of Ocean Hotel, Huo Jian,

was just thrown into prison.

This has caused a huge impact on the industry.

The market

has lost confidence in Ocean Hotel now.

Under Huo Jian's management,

Ocean Hotel may seem perfect,

in reality, it's riddled with holes.

They don't have good cash flow.

You're a professional commercial lawyer indeed.

Continue.

A great man cannot brook a rival.

Zhengde Hotel and Ocean Hotel

will have a desperate battle eventually.

If they fight each other,

only a limited number of chances and weaknesses

will be revealed.

If you cannot

cherish your opportunity and strike

when your opponent

gives you the chance to do so,

you'll be defeated

in the end.

But...

since you wish to cooperate with me,

you can't just come empty-handed, right?

If you wish to catch a big fish,

you need to prepare a great lure.

Mr. Dai, you're right.

(Lantian Bay Project Proposal) The lure is here.

Lantian Bay?

Isn't this

Ocean Hotel's most important project?

Will they be able to proceed with the project

after Huo Jian's arrest?

Li Ze Liang just took over his position.

He's desperate to raise their morale.

Lantian Bay

will be his best choice.

But

he has to wager

his entire asset as well.

So once the Lantian Bay project

is canceled,

it'll be a fatal blow

to Ocean Hotel.

You got the point.

So how do you plan to help me?

On this price list,

there are many places

where they have cut corners.

Flip it.

(Project cost estimation and financing) Li Ze Liang wishes to proceed with it.

But once this price list is revealed to the public,

Lantian Bay

will become the bomb

that Li Ze Liang had lit himself.

Your lure is great.

Mr. Dai.

The fee I'm charging for this

is much higher than a lawyer's fee.

Fee?

You want money?

You should've told me earlier. That's easy.

We can negotiate a deal.

So is this a deal?

It's almost time.

Time to set sail.

We can talk about it

after the fish

has been enticed by the lure.

See you.

(This is)

(very excruciating.)

(Things to take note of after amputation) (If it gets worse,)

(we'll have no choice)

(but to target the upper part)

(and do a second amputation.)

(Yan always)

(walks with his prosthetic leg at home.)

(This will worsen his condition.)

(I need to think of something.)

Xie Yi?

Xie Yi?

Xie Yi?

You're back?

Just in time.

What are you doing?

Look.

I made this.

And over here.

This way,

you can move without

using your prosthetic leg

by using these handles.

Do you know

what's the best thing about it?

Step back a little.

This way,

you can enter and exit the kitchen at will.

What do you think?

Aren't I amazing?

What's wrong?

Why are you keeping quiet?

Were you too touched?

Sorry.

Why are you apologizing to me all of a sudden?

I just...

I just think

that I don't have enough time.

I don't know what I can do

to make you realize

how precious you are to me.

I don't know what to do

for me

to make up for the past two years without you.

Xie Yi,

thank you.

Thank you for not forgetting me.

Thank you

for everything.

Why are you saying that all of a sudden?

I'm also happy

that I can do these things for you.

Thank you.

Look at you.

Your face is all dirty.

Where is it?

What do you mean?

It's...

I mean a kiss.

I was planning to kiss you.

But I controlled myself.

But why?

It's because your tooth hasn't recovered yet.

I was afraid that it might be painful for you.

It won't be.

How dare you laugh?

By the way,

I still have one handle

to install in the corridor.

I forgot to take this.

Wait for me. I'll be done in a second.

I'll wait for you.

Xie Yi,

I'll go to work now.

Wait a minute.

Take this. You can eat it on your way there.

Thank you.

Xie Yi,

our company is going to restart

the Lantian Bay project.

I might get busier.

Even if I'm back home,

I'm afraid I can't keep accompanying you.

You mustn't blame me for this.

Do I look that insensible to you?

You just need to focus on your work.

Leave the logistic support

to me.

Okay.

You too.

You should let your tooth recover.

After that,

I'll take you to have some good food.

Okay.

Goodbye.

Be careful on the way.

See you.

I don't think I'm used to that.

To be honest,

before this, I felt a sense of hostility

from you somehow.

I wish to explain the situation

to you right now.

Actually, you'd misunderstood me.

My feelings for Xie Yi

aren't what you think they are.

Two years ago, when Uncle Shen passed away,

Xie Qing lost her mind.

Xie Yi lost her memories as well.

And I became

the only kin they could rely on.

For the past two years, I've gotten used to the life

where the three of us

relied on each other for a living.

Xie Qing's illness

always strikes without notice.

Although I look strong on the surface,

actually,

I do feel depressed sometimes.

Xie Yi's existence

is a huge consolation to me.

That's why, as time passes,

I did develop

a sense of reliance on her.

But I know very well.

The only one I truly need is Xie Qing.

If she never returns here,

I'll never be happy.

Mr. Xie,

in psychology, we call this

the transference effect.

Actually, I think

it's good

that you understand

what you're thinking.

But let me remind you.

You need to treat Xie Yi well.

Although I'm her brother-in-law,

I can be counted as her elder brother.

If you dare to bully her,

I'll make things difficult for you.

But what if

she bullies me in the future?

Should I go to you?

Sure.

Try it.

It's pretty fresh.

You made this for Xie Yi,

so I'll skip it.

I still have things to do.

I'll return first.

I'll go and call Xie Yi then.

No need for that.

Just let her rest.

Mr. Li, you don't need to see me off. See you.

See you, Mr. Xie.

Here,

the fruit juice I made for you.

Try it.

It's fresh, right?

But

I think you put too much water.

I'll take note of it next time.

Mr. Li,

following your instruction,

I've investigated

every dossier of Zhiwei Corporation.

I found

something strange.

Speak.

Ever since its founding,

Zhiwei Corporation

has been developing at a steady rate.

But after they changed

their food supplier

to a company

called Yunxiao Fishery,

their performance declined.

Yunxiao Fishery

had signed a three-year contract

with Zhiwei Corporation.

But the cash remittance

doesn't match

their delivery orders at all.

That means they'd transferred the money to them,

but the goods didn't reach the warehouse.

And this company

has gone bankrupt two years ago.

Go and investigate

the owner of this company.

This is very important.

Alright.

Mr. Li,

why do you start

to spout nonsense now?

You promised me

that you'd keep our secret.

Secret!

Seems like I have to take you

somewhere safer.

Here you go.

Xie Yi,

when did Xie Qing

arrive at your house?

She was adopted

when she was several months old.

Back then, my parents

couldn't give birth to a child.

They gave birth to me after a few years.

But my parents

treated us

equally.

Xie Qing

also treated me like her true sister.

I can see that.

They actually let her

control Zhiwei's purse strings.

That means

they trusted her completely.

I feel guilty now that I think about it.

In the past, I stayed abroad.

Xie Qing was the one who accompanied my dad

and shared his burden with him.

When Zhiwei Corporation was first established,

it was very tough.

Xie Qing had hypoglycemia.

She fainted several times because of work.

She didn't dare to tell my dad or me about it.

She was afraid that we might be worried about him.

Yan,

do you remember the wish I made

when I went for the tooth extraction?

Are you going to tell me about it now?

Regarding that wish,

not only does it include us,

but it also includes Xie Qing.

I hope that Xie Qing

can recover as soon as possible

and attend our wedding.

It's best if she and Ming Hao

can hold their wedding together with us.

Wouldn't it be great?

I'll become a nun.

It's not that.

I was just

reminded of Xie Qing's painting.

It was pretty sorrowful.

You have to shave your head to become a nun.

Do you dare to do so?

Of course, I do.

I shaved my head before when I was young.

Are you serious?

When?

When we were young, Ming Hao was being bullied by someone.

I blocked

the incoming rock for him.

After that, a crack appeared on my head.

To do the suturing better,

he shaved my head.

(Mr. Xie,)

you've been taking care of Xie Qing for so many years.

It's touching indeed.

It's just that I'm curious about this.

Did you take care of Xie Qing

out of love

or responsibility?

You still don't understand

our story, right?

Back then, right after school,

I was bullied by several hooligans.

Suddenly, her small figure

appeared right in front of me.

Not only did she scold them,

but she also blocked

the rocks they threw in my direction.

There was a crack on her head

and she was bleeding a lot.

To do the suturing better,

he even shaved her head.
