The million seasons I've been on the show,

that's the best battle round I've ever heard.

Some of my toughest decisions, actually.

I'm Druski, and for the battles,

I'm joined by NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller.

But what are you doing with your voice?

Uh, you know, that's the thing.

I always wanted to be a sports broadcaster,

so I'm pulling out my "analyst voice."

Um, maybe don't do that. Okay?

Yeah. No, I got you.

All season long, the coaches were there to fight

and to win the most three-chair turns.

Kelly beat out the guys,

becoming the first ever Triple Turn champion.

She now gets the Super Steal.

You love a good steal, don't you, Reggie?

I do. There's nothing better.

And this super steal means that Kelly

can steal an artist from another coach.

What do you mean? Daly: The brand-new Super Steal!

Or save someone from her own team.

If I were the other coaches, I'd be scared of Kelly.

This is perhaps one of my favorite teams I've ever had.

Liv: I am not surprised that Kelly paired us together.

We're Kelly's two youngest artists on her team.

Neither of us knew our song.

We were kind of scared. We were like, "Ooh, 'Focus'?"

We were freaking out a little bit,

but we got a little arrangement going.

Being able to be in battles this season is so amazing

knowing that last season I didn't get a chair turn.

When I opened my eyes and saw Kelly and Adam,

I started crying.

I was just really, really proud of myself.

I've lived in Missouri my entire life.

Same house, same city, same neighborhood.

I was just a regular sophomore in high school

with just a really big passion for music.

It felt like it was my destiny to get a chair turn.

This is kind of a hard battles for me

because I will not be at rehearsals with my team.

Jennifer: Since Kelly couldn't be here today,

she brought me in as advisor and coach.

Kelly: I couldn't think of anybody better to step in

than Jennifer Hudson. ♪ Remember me ♪

Jennifer Hudson is so talented.

She's an EGOT winner, first of all.

Incredible singer, incredible actor.

She just kind of covers the gamut.

Team Kelly in the house.

I worked with Kelly on season 15 of "The Voice," which she won,

so I think I have a great sense of what she likes,

and she also filled me in on her team.

So I am well prepped. Oh, here they come.

Walking in and seeing Jennifer Hudson was super cool.

She's so beautiful and super talented.

I'm here, so I'm your dream girl.

You're in good hands. Yeah!

This is my old stomping grounds.

What am I about to do? I used to throw shoes.

I feel like Jennifer definitely was

the perfect person to fill in for Kelly.

This competition is getting more and more serious.

It is the "Battle of Champions" season.

Liv and Mikenley are like the pop princesses.

And I couldn't imagine them doing a better song.

I feel like it's a great song for their voices

and for what they want to do musically.

Both of you ladies sound like you're on the right track

I love the place it's in,

It makes me feel great that Kelly and Jennifer talked,

The song is about feeling unseen,

so I'm definitely going to be channeling all the emotions

that I felt during high school.

I didn't have very many friends.

I was such a lonely person,

and I was constantly in my shell.

What helped me get through it is music.

My biggest inspiration in my family

is definitely my great grandpa.

He played for Dottie West, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn.

And he unfortunately had to give it all up

for his 13 children at home. [ Laughs ]

He had always wanted me to do music,

so after he passed, I finally decided

that I was going to start putting myself out there.

And now look at where I am. I'm so excited to be here.

Even in his death, it gave me courage.

I feel like you two sing from a similar space.

Being here on "The Voice,"

it feels like I'm finally adding something significant

to my family's legacy.

I didn't want to put you guys together at first.

I feel like you kind of got to put people in situations

that show different sides of them because, like, this career,

you've got to step up

and hit the ball in so many different situations.

The talent is just the ticket at the door.

You guys are gonna do a Morgan Wallen song.

Morgan Wallen is a former Team Adam alum.

That's right. Which is crazy.

It is crazy. It's surreal. He's like the biggest country star on the planet.

The song is "I'm the Problem" by Morgan Wallen.

"Voice" alum. He was on my team,

so it's a family affair today. Big shoes to fill for them.

Are we doing it on just acoustics.

So I thought it was very interesting

to hear him sing a Morgan Wallen song.

Awesome. Benji: Yeah.

Man, I love you guys. And so different, too.

Yeah. Two different flavors.

You both have different advantages in terms of

if we're talking about this as a contest... Yeah, yeah.

...you really take the song and kind of make it like

as if you were putting a cover out,

but at the same time, you have that great country voice.

I feel like this is your wheelhouse,

but you have to find a way to sort of make it your own, too.

Hunter: This is part of the reason

why I really wanted to pick your team, Adam,

is because I need a little bit of help of trying

to find myself as an artist.

Like when it comes to cover songs, you know... Sure.

...with Morgan Wallen, is such a mainstream artist.

There's a lot of pressure to do it justice.

Just be yourself. I think that adopting

the original spirit of the song is kind of okay,

as long as it doesn't lose any of its authenticity.

And if that's who you are.

because sometimes people go the other way. Benji: Yeah.

And they're like, whoa, whoa, like --

You're overthinking it. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

This is exactly why I love Adam.

Keep it simple, stupid. He doesn't say that.

But that's what I like to live by.

I'm always in my own head,

and it was exactly what I needed to hear.

This experience has just been life-changing in every way,

shape, and form.

At home, I'm playing shows for three, four,

five people, and I perform a lot of Morgan Wallen songs.

It puts tip money in the bucket, so I appreciate Morgan for that.

Country is my first love, for sure,

but I don't want to be held to that box.

I have a lot more to show,

so I'm gonna bring some Hunter to that song, too.

There's singing and there's singing with somebody, right?

It's like two completely different art forms entirely.

And it can be a train wreck. And it can be a real mess.

Just stay locked in, honestly,

because when you go into those really rhythmic harmonies

and stuff, that's the key to this whole thing working.

Adam: They do a great job. Their harmonies are so locked,

and it's all acoustic guitars and singing

and just pure musicianship, which I love.

It's just the two of them raw right there, singing the song.

It was even better than I thought it was going to be.

It's fully engaging and people are gonna love it.

I think I have, like, an idea,

but I don't know.

They flew out here the day before my audition.

My papaw, he actually had a stroke.

He was in the hospital while I was auditioning.

It was just amazing to let him know that I made a team,

and he was so happy.

I mean, he was crying.

I really want to do my best for him.

Adam is definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone.

I usually sing rock, indie, pop music on stage

with my family or on stage in theater.

Even though it's gonna be challenging,

I'm gonna work on that.

I'm excited to kind of show a different part of my artistry.

it seemed like it was really low for you.

It's tough to find the balance,

The blind audition was a crazy day.

I kind of had in my head I wanted Kelly from the start.

Three chairs!

I don't know if you know this,

but I have been on country radio.

JW: I want to do my own songwriting,

and as a coach, she could really help.

Currently, I try to write every single day.

It's not full-time.

I do bread deliveries in the morning.

Ohh! Do you got sourdough?

Yeah, they do make sourdough.

JW: My music roots come from my dad.

He mostly sings in the choir, but he's good at karaoke, too.

[ Chuckles ]

My dad's uncle was a really good piano player.

He played with Waylon Jennings and Johnny Paycheck

back in the '60s and '70s.

So it's kind of crazy that maybe I get to carry on that legacy.

Jennifer: For them to deliver a traditional country song

that, I think, is one of Kelly's favorites, as well,

that's a huge task.

when I first started singing back in Texas. Yeah.

So it really just took me back to that

and my, like-- my West Texas roots.

Lee Ann Womack actually attended school

right outside of my hometown, Lubbock, Texas,

at South Plains College.

And a lot of the musicians that I grew up playing with

actually attended the same college.

Even my coach is a Texan, so that's exciting.

I remember as a young buck

auditioning for shows like this.

Oh, you did? Yes.

And I was terrified.

It's a cool chance for them to, like,

learn from somebody who's gone through it.

All of it helped to make me the artist that I am today.

These next singers, they're quite different,

but I'm really excited for this duet.

I paired Adi and Grace because I felt like

I could find a way for their styles to meet in the middle.

Grace sang Joni Mitchell

like she was transported from Woodstock or whatever.

And Adi came in singing Bruno Mars,

and his tone is very similar to Bruno Mars.

Yeah, I saw. It's, like, pop.

Grace: To think that I've been singing in church

and then now here in front of America,

it's just crazy.

Music is what I want to do.

I have no backup plan.

I really just want to show John I can be his next winner.

I was thinking we could do, like,

a more stripped-down version of it.

my a cappella group. Uh-huh.

Adi: The name of my a cappella group is The Men of Last Call.

It really forced me to push myself as a musician

and push myself as a leader.

And now, almost graduating from Cornell

and faced with this weird crossroad of,

do I pursue the corporate lifestyle

that I've kind of set myself up for

or do I take this amazing opportunity

that I've been given, and how do I kind of do both?

How did you know when it was time

to just fully commit to music?

I worked a corporate job for three years out of college.

And I needed to.

Like, I didn't have parents money

to, like, keep me afloat.

But I just never gave up on music.

I slept less. I just did what I needed to do.

Sometimes you got to burn both ends of the candle

and make it happen.

I think the key is gonna be getting out of their heads.

And then let their tone do most of the work vocally.

That's when the relationship really congealed.

I just found out that we're both Libras,

and so we're both overthinkers.

But we vibed really well because he understood me

in a way that I don't think anybody else would.

How do you feel, like, we're about to finally do this?

Everything we've been working for.

I'm stressed. I am, too.

There are no words to describe how much pressure you feel.

This is the grandest stage I've ever been on,

so to be able to have conquered the blind audition,

I already feel like I've mastered

another level of artistry.

It just sounds like all she wants to do is sing.

Adam: Moses just has this great rasp,

I love the reverence that he sings with.

I just really like his vibe as a human being.

I think this experience is a really big joy for my family

because I don't know if anybody besides a couple of my uncles

have, like, made it out of Irvington, Alabama,

and so for me to actually continue pursuing my career

and never giving up, I think they're really proud of me.

Moses: What would you say to someone

that pulls from a lot of different influences and genres

but wants to have continuity in how they present themselves?

When I was a kid and I started writing songs

and then got a record deal and then made an album,

all along the way, I felt like

I was still discovering who I was.

That journey, like, never ends.

If it's genuine and sincere,

I think people will really respond to it.

I wasn't expecting half of what he said, and it was so genuine.

I was on the verge of tears a couple times.

For me personally, I just have a lot to prove to myself.

I had a really bad stint with substance abuse.

I was on the verge of quitting music.

But I worked on myself. I got better. I healed.

So to be sitting in front of Adam

and he's affirming me in this way...
