It takes such courage for these kids to come here,

to step out of their lives for something new.

I'll never forget one father who traveled from Jingxi,

a small town a few hours west of Shanghai,

who had arrived with his teenage daughter

after all the doctors and nurses had left the building.

While traveling to the mission,

they were in a horrible accident.

and his daughter,

who had waited years to have the surgery,

Who knows how different her life would have been?
